A Little SSMT Quiz

Ladies! Our SSMT Celebration is right around the corner, and believe me, we know it is on your mind because it is on our minds, too! Like, all the time. Grin.

SO, before we get any further I do want to clarify that this is NOT the post for registration. We are working on that and will have it up very soon (read: hopefully this week!), but we are ironing out a few quirks and we’ll have it up and ready to roll!

However, we didn’t want to leave you hanging and we also want to hear from you!

First and foremost, the date for our SSMT Celebration is official Saturday, January 18th. Yes! We’re mixing things up and going with a one day event, instead of the Friday – Saturday plan. So, as you’re planning, plan to be here for sure from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM that lovely Saturday.

With that said, here are a few questions for you:

1) Are you planning to attend?

2) Have you attended in past or first time?

3) For those that have previously attended, what is your favorite memory to share, especially for those that have yet to attend?

As you’re thinking ahead, just a reminder that Β the actual celebration event is free of charge as your β€œticket” is your worn out spiral, but when discussing finances, be sure to consider two things, traveling and lodging. (More travel and hotel information is found in the FAQ page when you register.) We are so excited to have Travis leading worship with us again this year, as well.

Alrighty, y’all. Let’s hear from you! And be checking the blog regularly for registration updates and more details! We love y’all dearly.

This will be my third time.

I was so blessed when everyone was paired up reciting their Scriptures to each other. That has to be SO pleasing to God to hear His Word being spoken by so many sisters-in-Christ. Also, I love seeing all of the sweet Siestas face-to-face. There’s a lot of hugging, laughter & chatter going on. Of course, Beth’s teaching & the praise & worship is always awesome! I am really looking forward to it! Thanks for everything!!!

This would be my 2nd time. The message Beth shared was remarkable.

As an fyi, I just checked airfare, and because it is a holiday weekend (Martin Luther King Day), air fare is significantly higher than normal. Hotel prices will be up also. I’ll probably pass this year (unfortunately).

      Lindsee says:

Thanks so much for the heads up about airfare! And also, we do have hotel blocks saved, so that shouldn’t be an issue. But we certainly understand. Blessings!

Memorizing scripture tops it all!! Thank your for providing such an awesome experience! Your staff is the best!!

    Mary says:

I am planning on attending again this year. Was there at the last one two years ago. Went by myself not knowing anyone who would be there. I met woman in my hotel right away who were attending the event when I arrived and then the next two days I met about ten more woman staying at the same hotel. I always had other women to hang out with and some now that I keep in touch with often.

So if you do not know anyone else going do not be afraid. Women will come right around you and make you feel part of there group. You’ll meet dear friends that you will have for life!

    MacKenzie says:

1)Probably. I really want to make it work but have to figure out how to handle my littles.

2)Nope. This is my third time being a scripture siesta but haven’t been able to attend an event yet.

    3) Not just one verse but I just finished memorizing James. Yes, the whole book. What a testimony to how God has grown me in the area of scripture memory. My first year I struggled to memorize “just” those 24 verses I picked. Now, 24 is not enough!

Can’t wait πŸ™‚

  17. 17
    Pam Nelson says:

    1. I am planning on attending…if some of my friends go. I went to the last one by myself and didn’t enjoy it as much. Hard to have as much fun alone. Also hard to get around and know where to go by myself. (I am directionally challenged πŸ™‚
    2. This will be my third time.
    3. When we shared our verses at the first event, I made a friend that I still stay in touch with…thank goodness for Facebook!
Other highlights: pics by area, music, talking with others, laughing, and good Mexican food!,

    2. Yes!! Two years ago.
    3. All of it. Beth’s teaching. Travis’ worship. I can’t hear WORD OF GOD SPEAK without thinking of that weekend. Spending time with two close friends traveling together and we may or may not have learned each others verses on the way to Texas!:). The wall of scripture. The general spirit that we all accomplished something great together. The LPM team was exceptionally welcoming and kind. Thank you for planning another!!:)

  38. 38
    Natalie says:

    1) yes!!
    2) yes!!
    3) These are a few of my favorite SSMT celebration things!
The enthusiasm and fun that pervaded the room. It really was a celebration!
The commissioning by Beth! So powerful, so memorable!
The moment at the end when Beth and the worship team quietly slipped out while we were all still lifting our voices in praise! Such a sweet ending to the celebration.
The moment, by the grace of God, that I completed saying all my verses and knew I had done it!! Kind of like finishing a marathon . . . Not that I have ever finished a marathon ;-))

  39. 39
    Lisa Younce says:

    1) Yes I am planning to attend!

    2) This will be my Third time!

    3) My first time was so exciting in so many ways. One of my best friends and I went together, and we got to stay at a really nice hotel. We met some awesome ladies in the evening at the hospitality /Penthouse suite. Amanda was there, and two of the ladies we met got to stay in the suite because their rooms didn’t work out right. We are still friends with them on Facebook, and keep in touch.

The other memory that really stands out the first time was our panic about reciting our scriptures to someone else. Nancy, who works at LPM, was so sweet to us and told us we were able to recite to each other. I’m not sure we could have slept that night if she hadn’t relieved our nerves. It was so beautiful watching as little groups of women sat in the courtyard sharing our memory verses.

Last time none of my friends were able to attend, so I went alone. I met some great ladies on the blog beforehand, by sharing that I was coming alone, and finding others coming by themselves. We all met together for dinners and sat together at the event, and shared our scriptures with each other. So each time was completely different, but wonderful in so many ways!

    Tammy says:

I just joined as a Siesta in the last few months, so I don’t know if I ‘qualify’ to come as I don’t have a spiral nor have I memorized scripture that was put out there;hence, I guess I don’t qualify. :0(

Where does this event occur? I would like to come as it would be a nice way to wind down after my mission trip to Ethiopia that end in early December and it would be a nice fire me up (if its anything like LPL!!!) to begin another year!!

  41. 41
    Heather W says:

I am planning in attending and this will be my second time to go. My favorite thing about last time was attending with my friend Beth B. who I met on the Living Proof blog during So long Insecurity!! It’s so awesome to see how God works!!

  42. 42
    Jeanne says:

Question—I just heard about this via my hair stylist (who isn’t a believer but knew I was memorizing “my God’s Word” as she calls it). I was waiting until the 15th to post my first verse on the January 1st blog entry. I’ve been memorizing Scripture all year just didn’t know about this blog. They are even on note cards on a little ring thing :). Can I still participate? Sorry if I’m asking my question in the wrong place.

  43. 43
    Dawn Edgell says:

I wanted to come so badly two years ago and it just didn’t happen. I plan on coming this year and it will be my first time. Can’t wait!

    Madelin says:

I am planning to attend and this will be my 2nd SSMTC Lord willing. I traveled from California solo but met some of the BESTEST Siesta’s ever at the Pappadeux luncheon. They graciously welcomed me into the fold and my life is truly blessed as a result. We remain in contact via FB, Twitter and I love them dearly. We pray for, encourage and bless each other often though we are scattered throughout the US. Love Siestaville

    Chrissy says:

I would love to attend. I have no idea what I am attending, for this would be my first time. I am fearless! πŸ™‚ I will jot down the date. Where is it? What is it? What is required of me? Uh-oh fear setting in…just keep me posted and can’t wait to hear from others. Going to the Lord in prayer about this right now!
    Love ya sisters!
