Beth, you are such a BEAUTIFUL woman (glasses AND ALL). You will never know what a blessing you are to COUNTLESS COUNTLESS COUNTLESS people by just being the genuine and lovely woman that you are! I know that you have sacrificed so much to minister as you do, and I just want to thank you for answering that call in your life and pray blessings upon you and your family! Through you, God has given me a passion for his word-something that I have prayed for and yearned for, for a long time!

I have to say that I am hysterically laughing. I cannot even download the video but the picture with the glasses are just the giggle I needed. I am hoping that these glasses are not medically necessary because then I would have to repent for laughing at your expense. I was sitting in your recent chicago simulcast when your hair decided to launch out on it’s own and I felt your pain. I love you and I am sorry that I will not get to see deeper still in person. Loved, loved the studies. Thanks for making me giggle today you are my hero!!!!!!

Thank you for the word of encouragement and giggle. Only Christian sisters can share those two things, sometimes simultaneously. I just returned from a girls’ weekend away (our 3rd annual!) and the times of laughter, tears, and just plain silliness were precious to my soul.
You are a treasure, Sister Beth. (can’t call you Mama since I am about to turn 50)

Beth, you are so much fun! Thank you for taking so many things seriously, but not your self, and for sharing a little silliness with us.
I’m going to Deeper Still this weekend and can hardly wait. Not only will it be a fabulous time of worship and learning, but for me, the sweetest time of fellowship. My sister and her family serve with the IMB and return to the states this week. We will see each other for the first time in three and a half years on Friday as we go to Freedom Hall for Deeper Still!
This Siesta is praying for you and the event daily. See you there!

Oh Mama Beth!! How I adore those overalls! I don’t have any specifically for gardening, but I did snag some from Old Navy the other day – blue jean ones. They’re shorts, though – praise the Lamb! Because Georgia is just as hot as Houston right now!
I’m so excited to have summer, though!

I so much needed to hear Hebrews 13 today! I’m in the summer between my junior and senior years of college and am trying to figure out some semblance of what I want to do after I graduate next year. I’m thinking of moving to Charleston and to work..I don’t know what I’ll be doing yet! But I’m in deep prayer about next summer and my entire future. SO Thankful to be reminded that God is equipping me for a mighty work ahead – for my whole life at His service, wherever that may be!
    Love you

Miss Beth I am going to pray for your new church I know God is going to move mightily in that congregation. I would so love to be in that area and be part of it. I love new beginnings because I have had at least a million of them. Now I have to talk about those new glasses of yours girl we need to get you some help with that kind of problem I thing one of Jesus’ mud treatments might be good just saying. Now hurry up and get to Lubbock I can’t wait until Sept. this city is going to be plum crazy with women on fire for Jesus.

It might drop below 115 degrees in Houston? Please tell me it’s not that hot there already? That is insane! And please tell me it will one day stop raining here?!!! For one thing it’s truly messing up my son’s baseball season! He was so excited he almost broke my eardrums when I told him that his game is officially ON for this evening. He hasn’t played baseball in three weeks!! Seriously, the rain has been that horrible here and earlier it looked like we might have a thunderstorm, so we weren’t sure if tonight’s game would be a go or not! Unfortunately, it’s too far away and I’m not there right now, but he should be playing as I type this! It’s killing me not to be there, but hopefully the other games that were rescheduled for this week will be a go as well (keep your fingers crossed) and I’ll get to see him play Wednesday and/or Thursday. Wednesday’s game is not official yet.

Anyway, please promise me that it will be WELL below 115 next January, or this northwestern girl may melt before she even gets off the plane for the SSMT celebration! I start melting at about 90! I had a former pastor recently say he was finally going home after a hard day of work on facebook, and I commented, “Oh, wow! You’re coming back to Idaho! I’m sorry, I just can’t imagine ever calling Texas home.” (Cause that is where he was headed!) He said, “Shellie, I was Texas born and Texas bred and when I die I’ll be Texas dead.” I told him, “Well, I guess, then, I’m northwest born and northwest bred and when I die, I’ll probably be northwest dead.” Yes! I’ve lived my entire life in the northwest! Grew up in Joseph, Oregon, went to North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and then got married, and moved to Moscow, Idaho where I’ve been ever since!!! According to my husband, in his career path with the Boy Scouts we will have to leave the northwest for at least a short period of time if he ever hopes to be a Scout Executive. Possibly only 3 years, so who knows how that will work out. They just like for their Scout Execs to have some experience in another part of the country. You can’t stay in the same council forever, so we will be leaving the Inland Northwest council, probably in about a year and a half.

    Dear Beth
Been out of the country for five weeks, been home three weeks and been struggling with some real sadness the last week…today, I happen to open up and listen to your “saying hi!” The scripture you read at the end gave me such peace. Thank you, I needed to remember that God is in control; and He has it all in mind….and for His glory. Amen!

May He always bless you….Thank you so much.

    Betty M says:

To Katie, her little girl and Beth from Toronto, I wish I had seen this sooner as there is a chance you will not see this. You will see this if the Lord wills.
I raised two kids with special needs. Our first our daughter, Paula, had a physical disease of her bones. She is a dwarf but a giant at 4ft 10inches! Our second child, Brian, was border line mentally retarded. He also contracted leukemia at age nine. Our third, a son, Scott, developed a form of alopecia at age three and lost all his hair and never got hair back again. I went through this alot. I also was a “picked on” kid when I was in school. THERE IS NOT AN EASY SOLUTION TO THIS! Be sure your daughter is surrounded by alot of love and positive enforcement out of school. Assure her of Jesus love. Teach her about forgiveness and teach her to pray for those who are treating her so cruely. Remember the taunting they are doing to her is NOT ABOUT HER! There can be envy, something about her they wish they had. Usually the bully does not act alone but acts as a part of a group. They are powerless alone. Make sure the authorities know about this. Our state has an anti bullying policy. Bullying IS NOT a minor issue. We all know of the girl who commited suicide as a result of this. Sometimes the only thing we can do is leave the school system. I will pray for her. I know the lonliness and anxiety that a child can have. Again reassure her of God’s love give her every positive reinforcement you can. Remember you and she, is not alone in this. Many of us have been there. My kids grew up and have healthy self respect. Somehow they came through it all unscathed but alot of times it will stay with them for a life time. Prayers and love across the miles, Betty M

Thank you so much for your sweet words! You have certainly walked a rough road with your children, but I know you have trusted in the Lord with each and every step!! My little girl asked me the other day if she was “weird”. That is a term she must have heard from someone else! I almost lost it. I tried to explain to her that she is precious in God’s eyes, but the tears were filling up in my eyes. Being a momma is SOOO much harder than I could have imagined. I am trusting that God is going to guide my hand as I teach her to put ALL her trust in Him alone!!!

Dear Mama Beth – Thank you for this video post. I received my Siesta spiral notebook in the mail yesterday and it made me feel like part of the family. I am replying here because I love the one line you said about not talking behind people’s backs. I really want/need/desire help in this area -does your ministry have a bible study relating to this short coming of the tongue? Thank You.

You are too fun and funny….now, about that Whooppee cushion…??!! We are growing believers here in So. Cal in our small Women’s Bible study, and this summer I am trying my hand at two tomatoe plants. This is the first summer in 8 years we are home all summer. Hubby has taken a sales job with his beloved RV’s, while our 38 ft. “Big Boy” sits on it’s pad. I tell him, “Honey, you are selling dreams!” He never thought he’d be hired and put in his resume on a lark. When I read it…I said, “The job is yours! I know it…you are just what they want!” The biggest RV dealership in California hired him! And so it is….retired hubby is “refired”! And I tend little gardens, spiritual ones and my own two bona-fide tomatoe plants! Glory!

    Beth,
I wanted to tell you that my kids have those same silly glasses and they just look adorable on you! I also wanted to tell you that I think you are a riot and love laughing with you. Those verses were good for my soul and I am going to go listen to the again. Thank you for pointing the way to my redeemer, healer, comforter and friend. I can’t wait until we are all with Him and sometime during forever I want to sit and chat with you a while! Of course, by then all the bad will have been made good and I will have forgotten what it is I thought it was so necessary to say. God’s blessings on Deeper Still this weekend.
