Living Proof joyfully welcomes Curtis Jones to our staff!

My Dear Siestas, please join us as we welcome my dear son-in-law, Curtis, to our ministry staff. We are beside ourselves with joy! I know I’ve set myself up to be teased for announcing his arrival this soon after Melissa moved to Atlanta, but you’ll have to trust me when I tell you that you can’t talk Curtis Jones into a danged thing that he’s not convinced is God’s will. And I say that to his credit. Last fall we began to sense God opening a door for him here in Houston at LPM and have since worked on developing the position as he finished his responsibilities at the church he, Amanda, and Jackson loved so dearly. Curtis will be a wonderful addition to our team and you’ll be hearing from him through various avenues on the website. Please click onto his LPM page to learn lots more about it. We’re crazy about you guys around here and hope so much that this will be another way God will empower us to serve His Son to you. Blessings!

Oh my word! What amazing news. Should have seen that one coming! Love may be blind and deaf, but Amanda ain’t stupid, and she clearly knows authentic love for Jesus and life changing teaching. And she was right on. I was blown away by Curtis’s Isaiah 58 sermon, hit hard right between the eyes, and I will need to listen to it again. God bless the family and the ministry! Love you guys! I can’t wait to see where we go next!

Welcome, Curtis! What an amazing sermon!! I think many of us will be reminded each time we sing “I love you, Lord” of our need to be honest and what a sweet, sweet sound that will be to God. You are right on target and I was deeply convicted.

I look forward to your new role at LPM and I know that many of the siestas’ men will as well. I have facilitated almost every study Beth has written and my husband has previewed many of the video sessions with me and completed Daniel with me last year.

Congratulations to all the Moores and Joneses!

WHoo! Alleluia! Did I get that right? I just read over Curtis’ bio and job description. Are you developing some materials/studies for men too now– Oh Praise Jesus!!! My husband is so on the cusp of diving in– and I have been looking for just the right stuff for him, but nothing really stands out like Beth does for the WOMAN, you know what I am saying?

Welcome Curtis!! We are so excited. God has got a plan!!

Great to hear the news Beth, you are so blessed to have your daughter and son-in-law part of your ministry. Wow, to Curtis, I just listened to his sermon on Isaiah. Amazing! This really spoke to my heart. I’m a working mother of three, and I just sat down for a moment to catch up on LPM blog, and I thought “hmm, I’d like to hear him”. I must say it was a God thing that I clicked on it. Thank you Curtis for delivering a wonderful message, and for following God’s calling on your life!

    Welcome Curtis!

I believe our men are so hungry for solid, passionate Biblical teaching. I can’t wait to see what Curtis and the Lord will do together for our men! (not to mention us gals)

I also have a sneaking feeling Bibby is a tad bit excited to have Jackson so close, not to mention AJ.

I am and will continue to pray for everyone at LPM, plus one!

    Much love!

I just have to say one thing about men and Beth Moore studies. My husband and I went and heard you speak about getting out of the pit last year. It was awesome. We saw you on a screen, although it felt like it was in person. Anyway, we were both so excited about you coming and then the day before, I started thinking…”I wonder if this is only for women”. I called the church just to make sure men would be there, too. They said, “oh, of course, men are more than welcome!” so I just assumed a lot of men would be there. The next day as we were parking, I noticed all women and started to panic a little bit. I didn’t want my husband to be the only man and I am ashamed to say, I was embarrased. I didn’t want people to think I dragged my husband to hear you. Well, when we get inside, I saw lots of women (some that I knew)and NO men. The sanctuary was big and filled with women…ALL women. I wanted to leave but I knew that was Satan talking to me and my husband refused. After about 30 minutes, I saw one other man. So, out of thousands of women, there were 2 men there! 🙂 It was one of the best experiences my husband and I have ever had. We took page upon page of notes and were truly truly blessed. I am so so glad that we didn’t leave. My husband loves you, Beth…just like the women do!

I am so excited LPM is going to include more manly stuff! It has been on my heart for a couple years that we are too segregated! We are running the same race but still tend to stay in separate lanes (men and women). I so long for unity for the genders, however God wants it! Fighting shoulder to shoulder for God’s kingdom, of course~different, but the same passion for Him.

    Curtis and LPM,

    CONGRATULATIONS!

Thank You Lord, perhaps our “Men” will now have a grasp of how wide and how deep we can all come together….studying The Word. I’m sure that I don’t have the only man, doing studies with me. It will be a true delight!

Thank you…what a team, with God at the center.

    Lovingly,

Yeah! When God allowed my husband and I to move back to my hometown, my mom and I were and-continue to be- so very thrilled! Jackson will be blessed to have Bibby so close. Amanda- I remember the sadness I felt leaving our church, but the homecoming to my family was so so worth it. In addition, congratulations on following God’s will. I will pray for you during this new time of “happiness-yet sadness.”(I think you know what I mean??)
Curtis sounds like a wonderful man of God and will certainly be a blessing to LPM. Congratulations all!

    Deanna says:

I think this is all really neat and good and it’s really exciting to anticipate what God will do in this….but what I REALLY have to say is this – I thought it would be interesting to click on that little player and kinda listen to that sermon in the background of other things I was reading and working on the computer.
    WRONG! OH so wrong!
So here I am however long later with all these unread and unwritten windows open on my computer and I’m just really blown away.
I’m asking myself if worship is truly a response to what God has already done and not what I want to try to manipulate Him to do (paraphrasing Curtis) then how is it that I ever get out of the bed in the morning without immediately going face to the floor?
Really, the whole sermon was very timely for me – I rarely listen to sermons online but really needed to hear that one!
Back to the point – I think it’s great and look forward to the many ways God will use Curtis in this ministry!!

    Beth,

    I’m wondering…

What does Curtis call you within your family?

What will he call you at work? (If he smushes “Boss” with “Bibby” it could get pretty funny!)

    Cheri-Beri says:

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!! I am so excited for all of you! My husband is reading “90 Days with the One and Only” and loving every minute of it like I did. He adores Beth, but I think will like the idea of a “dude” back in Houston.

I’m excited for LPM, the Jones and the Moores!

Jim, Michelle, Baby Purtle, and Molly: says:

    yeah!!! so happy to hear!
Also, I wanted to update on my situation. I wrote 2 weeks ago and mentioned that I was 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby and spotting….I so appreciated hearing how Beth had cried and fallen in prayer for all of us. I have needed it…wow…it’s been 2 weeks of learning about God’s peace and trusting in Him.
On Sunday, I passed a blood clot and started cramping. So, my ob had me come in yesterday for an ultrasound. Praise God that the baby seemed great, and the heartbeat….wow…how amazing that my baby is only 1 cm, but has that heartbeat. Fearfully and wonderfully made!!

The main reason I wanted to update was because, even though things are promising with a good ultrasound, I’m still needing tons of prayer and time with God right now. I’ve actually been put on bedrest for the moment…so God is giving it to me! 🙂 I sat down to do the last week on Breaking Free yesterday…but before I did, my Bible fell open to Zephaniah 3:17. It so comforted me! First of all, God is mighty to save!! I have a 1 cm baby, and I feel helpless to help him (or her!)…but God is mighty and He can!! AND, He will quiet me with His love. That’s exactly what I need. Fears to be quieted, to just enjoy my pregnancy and not worry so much. I spent a long time meditating on these scriptures…then I decided to start my day on Breaking Free. Would you believe that Beth had us turn to Zephaniah 3:17??? God never ceases to amaze me…and then, the last part of the verse…He rejoices over me (and my baby!) with singing. He is excited about this little one!! In Breaking Free, Beth suggested to get out our dancing shoes to this thought….and, I can’t exactly do that right now, being on bedrest…but the thought at least gave me a smile!! I danced in my imagination! 🙂
Just wanted you to get (yet another!) example of how Great God is!! And, also, to remind you how He uses you. THANKS!! And, any prayers would still be appreciated!! 🙂

    Bittersweet says:

Beth, I’ve got to tell you a funny story about my man. My husband would come with me to the Daniel study to get the video and sound started for us ladies, but would then ‘hide out’ in the balcony and watch the sessions! I was the only one who knew until he got so excited one evening that he say “AMEN” really loud!!!
When I did Stepping Up recently, I would borrow the dvd’s and watch them a second time, just so he could see them (there is no balcony to hide in at our new church!), and he even wanted to look over the homework.
You may have been called to women’s ministry, but make no mistake, Beth, your gifts are a blessing to the boys as well!
As soon as I read the blog about Curtis, I found his page and my husband and I listened to his message on Worship from Isaiah 58…AMAZING. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for him there at LPM. And we are happy for your family, too!

    Love in Christ,

Great asset to an already great team. Jesus just always knows what we need, doesn’t He?
Thanks for your obedience you live out at LPM. We’re blessed because of it.
Welcome to the family Curtis! Hopefully when you accepted the position, you were well informed that you now have a whole lotta crazy siesta-in-laws to put up with! 🙂

I have to admit my first thought was, “that is one way to get that granboy closer to his bibi (sp).”. I will resist the urge to tease, because what a great idea. The men do need someone to light the fire in them the way God has used you to spark the fire in us. I have often longed for that for my husband. Fortunately we now have a great pastor that God uses to really speak to my husband. I wonder if the Miesta chat will be as chatty or if it will be like your coffee shop man chat experience.:) Looking forward to see what God is going to do with this!

How very exciting! Welcome and Congratulations, Curtis and Amanda. I will reiterate the thought so many others have had. I know men who would grow deeper in love with the Lord through studies like Beth’s, but not too many will partake because the participants are nearly all women. Laying down manhood? I think not! Try to convince the fellas of that, though!
I can’t wait to see what the Lord will do with this even more dynamic team. Curtis, continue being that man after God’s own heart.

I can’t wait for him to have the opportunity to learn from Curtis’s ministry. This will be so great for all our miestas!! Congratulations Curtis!!
