Living Proof joyfully welcomes Curtis Jones to our staff!

My Dear Siestas, please join us as we welcome my dear son-in-law, Curtis, to our ministry staff. We are beside ourselves with joy! I know I’ve set myself up to be teased for announcing his arrival this soon after Melissa moved to Atlanta, but you’ll have to trust me when I tell you that you can’t talk Curtis Jones into a danged thing that he’s not convinced is God’s will. And I say that to his credit. Last fall we began to sense God opening a door for him here in Houston at LPM and have since worked on developing the position as he finished his responsibilities at the church he, Amanda, and Jackson loved so dearly. Curtis will be a wonderful addition to our team and you’ll be hearing from him through various avenues on the website. Please click onto his LPM page to learn lots more about it. We’re crazy about you guys around here and hope so much that this will be another way God will empower us to serve His Son to you. Blessings!

Years ago, my husband too braved the scorn of his fellow fellows and did Beth’s “A Woman’s Heart” study… but not without covering over the word “Woman” on the front cover of his book with the word “Man”!

I know you all have to be so excited…I guess this means the Jones’ moved to Houston? I cannot tell you how excited I am for our men! I agree, there isn’t much in depth stuff for the guys out there, and as spiritual leaders of our households, I REALLY think there should be!
    Alright Curtis…Bring it on!!!

I am so praising God!!! Welcome Curtis!! It would be so awesome to have my husband join me at a Living Proof Live event. My husband is so sweet to drive me to San Diego to attend Beth live on the 11th. Next time around, God willing, he can join me in the arena to hear Beth AND Curt speak. I am so excited to see where God will lead LPM. Blessings to all of you at LPM.

How excititng! God is up to something HUGE within the body of Christ. This past fall semester saw the beginning of Men’s Fraternity at our church and I was so moved yesterday by the testimonies of the two men who stirred the baptistery waters at the start of our early service. Sisters, join me in praying for the spiritual health of our men in the body of Christ. I’m reminded just now of a line in a favorite hymn – “mercy drops round us are falling, but for revival we plead.”
Blessings to all of you as we continue to pray for a downpour,
    Patti
PS: I did check my dictionary and baptistery can be spelled either way. The other spelling is as the word sounds, baptistry.

    Bet says:

This is fabulous news!! What a fabulous legacy you are leaving, Beth! I hold onto the Scripture (who address escapes me at the moment) that says that God will visit the sins of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations, but the faithfulness of those who love Him to a thousand generations! How awesome to see this Scripture at work… you were the one who worked to be free of the generational sin and now God is blessing your descendents incredibly!! What a joy it must be to have your daughter and son-in-law serving side by side with you.

Congratulations to Curtis and I cannot wait to see what God does from here on out. I know the men in our church are “jealous” of us when we do our Beth Moore studies and have often said they wish there was something like it for them. Maybe there will be?!

What unbelievable joy for you Beth! You lose Melissa (that was pain!) and gain Amanda’s family in your city, and ministering side by side with Curtis!!! So happy for you all for this God-thing! Reminds me of: “He has chosen us to stand and minister in His name.” Curtis was chosen. Oh my! Deut 18:5. My prayer for Curtis is Deut. 32:2 —may his teachings fall like rain on tender hearts who need it so.

Oh mercy! I’m already more crazy about him than I knew I could be! After reading that write up on him, it sounds like he is a FINE Christian man who puts Jesus first in his life. Welcome and congratulations, Curtis. I hope we can all follow your good example to grow closer to God through serving and loving others. May God bless this new time in your life. We all already love your wife and your son (who really looks just like you!) and we look so forward to all that you can bring to this ministry.

This is such a great answer to prayer. Have been burdened by the need for men (in general but let’s face it -my own specifically!)to get into a Bible study that is not just about acquiring knowledge but will be applicable to their everyday life. Please pray with me starting now that those who desparately need it – saved and unsaved -will be willing to come.

I already commented, but that was BEFORE I went and listened to Curtis speak on the website. Sietas, I urge you, if you have time, or even if you don’t have time, make time to listen to Curtis’s message on Isaiah 58. Oh my word, it’s very powerful and convicting! I called my husband who is out of town, and told him to get on Beth’s website and listen. He has said so many times, “where are the Men’s bible studies that take God for Who HE IS and do not spend all the time pumping up men to try to be who they aren’t?” “Where are the men who will just OBEY and then walk humbly before their God?” Siesta’s, I think God found His man! I am so excited about this! You can click a button and after hearing Curtis speak, request him to speak to your church group. What a calling! Thanks for allowing that word to be heard Beth! Amanda- what did you pray specifically that God would answer your prayer in such a big way? I have three girls- this is the kind of man I want for them. God bless you both!

Yahoo!!!! Congratulations and I’m so excited to see what God is up to!! He always has so much better things conjured up than I can even imagine! May God bless richly this new aspect of the LPM ministry. What a beautiful tapestry He is weaving!

And as an aside, I’ll be praying specifically for you, Curtis. See I am the “boss” (yea, right!) of 16 great women and one, poor, lone, brave male. When we built a new office building, as I met with the contractor, I requested a testosterone mist in the ventilation system…thought it would help everyone. They couldn’t do it. So, I went back to my old reliable method – PRAYER! God love ya, darlin’, for being such a brave soul in this world of women (siestas to be exact!)

    Joni says:

Curtis, you are a brave man! LOL! Rejoicing with you all on this wonderful occasion. May the Lord be praised for His infinite goodness and perfect planning! May His blessing be conspicuous on all His children that the world may know Jesus is truly the One and Only!

    Ellen says:

Without even realizing it, so many of us who benefit from the ministry of Living Proof have been in prayer along with you, for a long time not even knowing this was brewing! I, and many other women I minister to, have prayed that there would somehow be an avenue for men to be reached with the same impact that women have through this ministry. I am so excited to hear that God is answering our prayers by bringing Curtis in to the ministry!! The potential is huge, and I’m sure that God has BIG plans! This is VERY exciting news!!

    Curtis,
This is welcome news!! And timely too!! I look forward to your ministry and a mans point of view on things. We are a family business so to speak and it is wonderful. Don’t let anyone make you think you are taking the easy way by working with and for family, nothing could be further from the truth. The joys are incredible the challenges unique. Loved you since I heard about you washing Amanda’s feet. I prayed for a son in law with that kind of love and He gave us one. When he asked for our daughter’s hand in marriaige he told us he was going to wash her feet during the proposal, he knew nothing of my prayer. ALL my best. Shalom.

Just listened to the sermon on the “Curtis” web page…what a blessing! Yep, he can “bring it!”

In regards to the “ministry to the poor” comments in the sermon, here’s a link to another website for a ministry
that is very much ministering to the poor in America, with a deep and focused local impact: http://www.lifeinquip.wordpress.com

My brother Matt is ministering up there with them, and it’s amazing (coming from a very sheltered Baptist community in the Bible Belt) to see what God is doing just outside of Pittsburgh, PA.

Bless you all at LPM as you minister together and transition into this new phase!

Wow, now ain’t my God good? I am amazed and awed by what He is doing in your ministry. Curtis will be used in a might way I am sure. I am excited for my husband and the men of our church that some in-depth bible study the LPM way may be on its way.. Of course it doesn’t hurt, that this brings one of mama Beth’s chickens a little closer to the nest.
God’s blessings on you all. How exciting!

    Dear Beth,
I have debated writing this for some time but feel I have to. I am perplexed as to why in your blogs you sometimes use the words, “danged”, “darn”, “heck”?
If I was to hear my pastor use these from the pulpit I know I would feel uncomfortable.
This is meant in the kindest of ways. I just wanted to pass it along.

    Now there is. Yay!

Congratulations Curtis, Amanda, Ms. Beth, and the rest of y’all that I’m probably forgetting to mention!!

Btw, I loved the fact that Curtis took the Woman’s Heart study. One of my friends wanted to do it with her children b/c she wanted both of them to learn what Ms. Beth was teaching us. 🙂 And that was my first study of hers too. LOL!

    Anyway, congrats y’all!!

Welcome Curtis – I am praying for the day when the LPM ministry is so big for men that there are stadiums of men grunting and laughing at tool stories and loving Jesus.
