This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23,24 (NIV)
Thank you, because I was truly getting both discouraged and frustrated in scripture memory recall and other endeavors. I’m reviewing the earlier part of James, but adding James 2:14-17 (and not planning to proceed further until this is more solid).
What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well-fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:14-17 old NIV Jennifer Mosher in Canfield, OH
