Grace

Grace is an inflated raft that can submerge to the floor of a sea to save you.

Grace is the silver thread that stitches up the shreds of mangled souls.

Grace is the eye that finds us where it refuses, there, to leave us.

Grace calls the waitress to the table and sits her down to wash her feet.

Grace sees underneath the manhole on a street of self-destruction.

Grace is the air to draw a breath in the belly of a whale.

Grace is the courage to stand in the shamed wake of a frightful falling.

Grace is the only fire hot enough to burn down a living hell.

Grace waits with healing in His wings when we’re too mad to pray.

Grace is the gravity that pulls us from depravity.

Grace races us to the Throne when we make haste to repent and always outruns us.

Grace treats us like we already are what we fear we’ll never become.

Grace is the doorpost dripping red when the angel of death grips the knob.

Grace is the stamp that says Ransomed on a life that screams Ruined.

Grace sets a table before me in the presence of my enemy even when my enemy is me.

Grace is the cloak that covers the naked and the palm that drops the rock.

Grace is divine power burgeoning in the absence of all strength.

Grace proves God true and every self-made man a liar for the sake of his own soul.

Grace is the power to do what we cannot do for the Name of Christ to go where it has not been.

Grace is a room of a thousand mirrors, all reflecting the face of Christ.

Grace is…

The eye popping

Knee dropping

Earth quaking

Pride breaking

Dark stabbing

Heart grabbing

Friend mending

Mind bending

Lame walking

Mute talking

Slave freeing

Devil fleeing

Death tolling

Stone rolling

Veil tearing

Glory flaring

Chin lifting

Sin sifting

Dirt bleaching

World reaching

Past covering

Spirit hovering

Child defending

Happy ending

Heaven glancing

Feet dancing…

Power of the Cross.

Jesus Christ, Grace Incarnate.

Sweet Beth, Saturday was a wonderful gift to me. Better than a garage sale ’cause I got rid of lots of junk. What a blessing you are to the body of Christ. I loved this creative writing and am thrilled that you posted it. I want to read and reread it. I’d LOVE to see a video of the portion of the session where you dealt with the Old Fleshly Man. Hilarious. Thanks for a wonderful day.

Thanks Beth for the beautiful simulcast that brought me to tears. Listening to your words strengthened me. Sadly, my marriage of 32 years is ending soon as tomorrow I venture to court against my husband. He walked away from the Lord seven years ago and spiraled into adultery. I have 5 children and take care of my invalid parents fulltime. Two of my kids and my parents are under my roof. I couldn’t keep walking but for the grace and mercy of my Savior.

Until next time . . . Donita

I loved Saturday. It helped me realize I have a few “laws of me” I need to get rid of. Is the a way to get the quiz, so I can pray for those laws I’ve made for myself?

    Thanks!

Beth, what a great sermon you had Saturday. I loved it all. I still struggle with letting go of the past. I keep going back and getting hurt again. We are both in the use-to mode. How does one move on? He stays for money but I want him to stay for love. He mentally abuses me and of course I jump right in also. How do we get over this and still keep our sanity.

Greatly encouraged by the words of truth spoken during the simulcast! God allowed me to see through all the lies that I’ve been believing and all the things that held me captive from living a life of true freedom in Christ. My eyes were opened to see how much under the law I’ve been living. My old self of condemnation, constant comparison to others, low self-esteem are gone. My new identity of redemption, love, self acceptance and grace are here! Thank you, Jesus!

Does anyone know where I can get a list of the 12 law/grace quiz questions we took during the simulcast? Some of my friends who were not able to attend have asked about the quiz but I was unable to locate it online.

But the days I do stop and take the time to its like a personal message to me. Today’s post especially speaks to me. Thanks for posting the poem,

Over the years I have been to live simulcasts, church simulcasts and this year solo simulcast. So glad you offered it since the other two options weren’t attainable for me this year. Loved the message and it continued into my Sunday service! (God is Good!)
Loved the true false test. I jotted down what each question was. A girlfriend and I compared our answers together. While we each had the same number of “T’s” they were each opposite! Blew our minds!

Thanks for following your calling, such a blessing for so many.

Thank you Beth for a fantastic and much needed message!
