Grace

Grace is an inflated raft that can submerge to the floor of a sea to save you.

Grace is the silver thread that stitches up the shreds of mangled souls.

Grace is the eye that finds us where it refuses, there, to leave us.

Grace calls the waitress to the table and sits her down to wash her feet.

Grace sees underneath the manhole on a street of self-destruction.

Grace is the air to draw a breath in the belly of a whale.

Grace is the courage to stand in the shamed wake of a frightful falling.

Grace is the only fire hot enough to burn down a living hell.

Grace waits with healing in His wings when we’re too mad to pray.

Grace is the gravity that pulls us from depravity.

Grace races us to the Throne when we make haste to repent and always outruns us.

Grace treats us like we already are what we fear we’ll never become.

Grace is the doorpost dripping red when the angel of death grips the knob.

Grace is the stamp that says Ransomed on a life that screams Ruined.

Grace sets a table before me in the presence of my enemy even when my enemy is me.

Grace is the cloak that covers the naked and the palm that drops the rock.

Grace is divine power burgeoning in the absence of all strength.

Grace proves God true and every self-made man a liar for the sake of his own soul.

Grace is the power to do what we cannot do for the Name of Christ to go where it has not been.

Grace is a room of a thousand mirrors, all reflecting the face of Christ.

Grace is…

The eye popping

Knee dropping

Earth quaking

Pride breaking

Dark stabbing

Heart grabbing

Friend mending

Mind bending

Lame walking

Mute talking

Slave freeing

Devil fleeing

Death tolling

Stone rolling

Veil tearing

Glory flaring

Chin lifting

Sin sifting

Dirt bleaching

World reaching

Past covering

Spirit hovering

Child defending

Happy ending

Heaven glancing

Feet dancing…

Power of the Cross.

Jesus Christ, Grace Incarnate.

Now this was a NICE bit of PREACHIN’, Mrs. Moore!! We were stompin our feet way up here in NE. Bless you for the Simulcast message, and not least, this fabulously inspired word>>>
    (It reminded me of S.M. Lockridge’s immortal “That’s My King.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaVyGsno-OE )

If only there was a way to communicate to Beth how God has used her over and over and over and over for the past 25 years of my life, I would put it here. The struggles I have been through when I just didn’t think I could take another breath. God has used Living Proof and the teachings of Beth Moore to carry me from glory to glory from ashes to beauty, from pit dweller to mountain climber. Most of my “aha” moments in my walk with God have come from studying the Bible with Beth. I feel like she is truly my sister…one who may never know I exist this side of heaven, but who will always have a very special place in my heart. I pray for you, Beth. I can identify with you in so so so many ways. Thank you for posting this wonderful wonderful poem.

Saw my first simulcast of Beth Moore on Saturday, September 14 and what a wonderful experience it was for me. Her visuals using the dead self dummy and the measuring tape were funny and well presented. Next time she is in my area, I will go for sure. May God richly bless her ministry as she reaches out to women around the globe.

    Christy says:

This is needed right now. This is the second summer in a row my husband and I have had an adoption fall through. This one the day before we were supposed to bring her home from the hospital when a doctor who was not even part of the team working on the case convinced the birth mom to hold her and to consider keeping her. And without going into details family drama and separation are making my heart even heavier right now. Much grace is needed all around and the reminder that the grace is there even when we don’t accept it or see it is so needed.

Beth, what a glorious day for Grace. It was carried over in our church both in the AM and PM services. Thank you and your staff for your hard work, tears, prayers and effort that goes into your teachings.

I would LOVE the words and Biblical references to the beginning of the last session. Could you post that too please? Or, tell me where I can go to find it.

God Bless You as much as you bless us!

    Sweet Beth,
Tears flowing as I soak in a grace filled moment. So powerful to hear these words, but even more so as I read them and let God use them as the Holy Spirit hovers over me as I try to prepare for an intense week of ministry to hurting girls. Thank you…I was about to quit my job as the Pastor’s wife, but I say that about every other year and that man would be toast without me. 😉

    Amber Nelson says:

I pray these words continue to speak volumes to my heart, mind, soul and spirit. I pray that they sink in to the very center of my being. I need to know they are true for me and for everyone I love. I need to believe His grace is sufficient for me. I NO LONGER want to live in fear.

    These were my favorite lines:

“Grace treats us like we already are what we fear we’ll never become.”

“Grace is the stamp that says Ransomed on a life that screams Ruined.”

“Grace sets a table before me in the presence of my enemy even when my enemy is me.”

Thank you God for speaking through Miss Beth, and thank you Miss Beth for speaking. :)

    Sylvia says:

Dear Precious Beth (please forgive my boldness of familiarity but when someone speaks “truth” into your life… You feel familiar),
Coming from many years of living under “Law / Legalism” – I sat glued to the end of my seat during the Sinulcast in a church in NC… Clinging to every word that you shared! There was enough “Grace” to save me – but to make me totally acceptable to God… No way! So I have lived “striving”… Always falling short of my own expectations, so surely falling short of the expectations of a Holy God. Picturing myself stepping from under the “Law & Shame” and placing myself wholly underneath the “Grace & Name” drove me to my knees. I am sure you will hear over and over that your message was “Just for me” – but for me it was just that! Thank you!

  38. 88
    Diana says:

This was awesome and humbling to me. <

Beautiful, just beautiful. And yet–yet–only a glimmer of the beauty of the truth it represents.

  44. 94
    LaDonna says:

    This is beautiful.

    What pierced my heart…

Grace is the courage to stand in the shamed wake of a frightful falling.

Grace races us to the Throne when we make haste to repent and always outruns us.

Grace treats us like we already are what we fear we’ll never become.

Grace is the stamp that says Ransomed on a life that screams Ruined.

Grace sets a table before me in the presence of my enemy even when my enemy is me.

Grace is the power to do what we cannot do for the Name of Christ to go where it has not been.

And I wept hearing these words Saturday

    World reaching

    Past covering

    Spirit hovering

    Child defending

    Happy ending

    Heaven glancing

    Feet dancing…

    Power of the Cross.

    Jesus Christ, Grace Incarnate.

I’m so thankful for you Beth. You’re ministry will forever hold a special place in my heart. God has used it to speak, heal and change my life. I’ll never forget what that 17 year old girl felt sitting in the back of a women’s Bible study group for the first time listening to Breaking Free 🙂 He hasn’t loosened His grip yet and somehow He manages to make me fall in love with Him time after time.
    Much Love and Hugs!

Oh Beth, thank you so much for sharing this!! printing and going on my vanity mirror and a copy in my bible! I was wondering you were planning on distributing the responsive reading from the third section of Saturday? I would love to have a copy of that for when a conversation is just too hard to begin with my Abba, a place where I can hear His Words and speak The Word back to Him. Because sometimes, I am at a loss for words when I have fallen or overwhelmed with gratitude for His grace!

    Jan says:

Beth: I’m just about to have a “spell” as a dear elderly preacher friend of mine says… Thank you again for this anointed word.

I love this line so much:
“Grace races us to the Throne when we make haste to repent and always outruns us.”

He sure did that for me. And I thank you for seeing fit to use my story (obituary) in the simulcast this past weekend. I am praying and believing God to use it to bring someone to Him (because He will outrun them).

It was on my mind so heavy this past July because the anniversary of my “death to life in Christ” fell on a Sunday this year…like the day I was saved.

I wrote about it here: http://granjansjoy.com/2013/07/what-a-wonderful-day-my-story/

    I love you so,
    Jan

    Joanna says:

When I sat down in my seat at the conference (in the sixth row) 😉 best seats ever – I looked at the screen and saw NO LONGER! I knew right then and there this message was written so I could hear it. What an earth quaking day for me. Thank you for speaking truth and freedom from the law to so many of us. I never knew what grace really was until I needed it the most. It found me where I was and it will never leave me there! Praise Jesus!!!!
