Puppy’s breath, the ocean, glorious Colorado mountains, hot chocolate on a cold night, the smell of a fire in the fireplace, snow, reunions w family, a bubble bath, when a great song comes on the radio, healing after pain, a thunderstorm, when clothes fit just right, Bath and Body Works wallflowers that make my house smell great, greetings from my dogs, my daughter who loves Jesus, my 6 year old niece’s texts to me (using my mom’s phone), surprise notes from my husband, the smell of bread baking, and a comfy bed to snuggle in.
Happiness is a sweet email from your 10-year-old when you are away on a trip that lets you know you are missed and loved and thought about.
…a spoonful of peanut butter with chocolate chips on top, and looking at my sparkly Christmas tree when it’s dark in the house.
…praising God in the morning just because we can and telling HIM that I love HIM so much.

Happiness is…listening to my almost 3 yr old Noah trying to sing Twinkle, Twinkle little star. He says tinkle, tinkle little star, how I wonder in the sky, like a diamond in the skyyyy! When he says, I want to sing my a-b-sounds. When he sings, Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so. :O)

My 92 year old grandfather said it well. “Happiness is…. when you lay down with your bad ear against the pillow and turn the hearing aid off on the other; nap time at its best!”

Some of mine:
1.) Starting a new Bible study with just the right pen
2.) A brand new journal
3.) Clean sheets, clean house
4.) A good night’s sleep
5.) Crowding into a hotel suite with all our kids and granddaughter and then trailing downstairs in slippers the next morning to eat breakfast together
6.) Laughing so hard it hurts – haven’t done that lately and looking forward to it at Christmas gatherings
7.) Baby’s laughter
8.) Going to the Christmas Eve service at our hometown church and hearing the old carols sung
9.) This is a big one – hearing the Lord speak directly to something you’ve been concerned about for a long time!
Happiness is getting up early, cleaning up & scrubbing down the kitchen, spending quiet time with God, & enjoying a cup of coffee. All before the craziness begins being a stay at home mom with 4 little girls =)
Oh yeah, & the reason I was able to be up before everyone is because my 6 month old slept all night! Happiness is not walking around EXHAUSTED all day long!
Happiness is a freshly bathed and groomed dog, even if it means you are drenched from the process.
Happiness is picking up a loved one at the airport after a long parting.
Happiness is seeing my man walk through the door at the end of the day.
Happiness is fresh baked anything from the oven, and the way the house smells afterward. For that matter, the way the house smells after I cook dinner each evening.
Happiness is hearing the choir sings Christmas carols. Then singing along.
Happiness is hearing the bells ring each Sunday calling everyone to worship.
Happiness is visiting my favorite coffee shop for a free “anything thing you want” treat.
Happiness is the wind blowing and getting a strong smell of fir trees from the Christmas tree lot next door.
Happiness is purchasing new shirts without puppy nibble holes on the tummy.
Happiness is gingerbread frozen yogurt.
(This one came a little slower) Happiness is sending my only year old grandson, who was born in our home, with his parents to the mission field for three years, with my heart in my stomach and tears on my face because I know God is sending them and folks will be reached for Christ.

Happiness is getting to hear from God’s annointed teachers.
Happiness is coming home from a stressful day of work only to be greeted by a cute Golden Retriever Mix holding a toy in his mouth and his whole body wiggling with joy!
