This is just the quickest shout-out to say that you nearly took my breath away in your comments to the last post. I have never been so humbled and so thankful and blessed to be part of this community. If you haven’t had a chance to glance at the ministry going on between sisters in the faith, even just letting your eyes scan down the comments and seeing the interchange between the phrases,ย “Little Sister here…” and “Big Sister here…” will put tears in your eyes. You amaze me. We are flawed people around here and all of us have some degree of brokenness but, Sisters, God formed something real in this community over the last years – something we couldn’t have conjured up with the best of plans, talent, and organization – and His Son has never been more obvious among you than in that last post. I cannot thank you enough. You mean so much to me.
I’m keeping it short because we have our big Siesta Summer Bible study post going up first thing in the morning but I want to ask you for one more thing. I am so pleased to hear from many of you that you’re agreeing to memorize Psalm 25. By all means, older sisters, join in, too, if you could really use those words in the marrow of your bones. Read it and see. Memory work is often done best in the framework of accountability. If you want to be held accountable to memorize it, would you please make a comment to this post and let us know you’re taking on Psalm 25 and what version you’re using? (The version is completely up to you! This is just to provide you a chance to sign on the dotted line, so to speak.) Some of you could also pair up and use the same version and agree on how you’re going to approach it and what Scriptures you’re taking on each week. My little sister in the faith that God used to spur on the whole previous post – remember, the one I ran into in the grocery store? – is going to memorize the same version as me so that we would be able to say it together. It just makes it extra fun and gets it done.
I love you guys so much. Now, let’s get out there and live in victory. Jesus, be obvious in Your daughters this day. This week. This lifetime. You are all to us.
I’m in Psalm 25 ASV
Working on the getting the NIV version of Psalm 25 burned into my brain!
I’m memorizing Psalm 25 in ESV
I just finished James a week ago. Took 6 months. I never would have attempted James if I hadn’t done SSMT last year. Psalm 25 is a good place to begin some new memory work. When I became a Christian, I never dreamed I would love Him this much!!!
If I can remember entire Bee Gee tunes from the 70’s surely the Lord will help my decrepit brain memorize the NLT Psalm 25! Let’s do this!
Little sister here….memorizing Psalm 25 (ESV)
Count me in. ESV. If someone wants to partner with me, she can write me at crumbsfromhistable [at] gmail [dot] com. I may see if my husband or sister is game even though they aren’t siestas.
Although I don’t pipe up too frequently, I have been so blessed by this blog and all the sweet siestas here. I’m signing the dotted line and will be memorizing Psalm 25 in NIV (something about the phrase “wantonly treacherous” made me choose it over ESV, which is what my church has moved to).
My Siesta Summer Bible study gals and I meet in just a couple hours. I was in charge of the ginger snaps and boy, are the delicious (what?! I had to do a little quality control!).
Committing to memorize and digest Psalm 25!
Somehow I missed the last post but just read Psalm 25 and that was just what I needed tonight. I’ve been trying to work something out with God lately– I am just going to keep on praying this Psalm until God shows me what to do next.

I am Memorizing Psalm 25! I’ve never memorized more than a verse before… so wish me luck. –New Living Translation–
Is this big sister/little sister for people over 40 years of being Christian? Because I’m 45 and almost three years in to my time with Jesus, but I don’t feel like a big sister to anyone just because I’m 45. I feel like I spend more time with my legs getting knocked out from under me. And I hadn’t really considered it was satan. Just the way life is for some of us. I am just not really feeling like I can add a helpful thing for others–but I wish I could.
Thank you so much for this post. I’m 62 and have only been in faith for a year and less than a half. This blog and Beth’s work have been such a sweet support for me. I, too, do not feel like anything but a little sister but I’ve noticed that the Spirit does seem to work through me sometimes, just as He has you with your honest post – For me today YOU are a Big Sister and I love that. Thank you!

Your Big Sister Here … Who just walked through burning fire from “you – know – where” the last 6mos and did not get burned or even did not smell like stinky smoke …
My prayer for all My Little Sisters:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Today I pray for my little sisters in need and I pray, In Jesus Name, that TODAY they truly believe that You, God, are doing exceedingly and abundantly more than they can ask or think, like You did for me!ย
Dear Father, Dad, Abba, I cry out to You to please let TODAY be the day My Little Sisters are encouraged and they hear Your Holy cleansing Truth say to their hearts, souls and minds that they are Beautiful, Blessed and Blameless. NO More doubts, fears, guilt or shame. That is NOT from YOU, Father God. They are LOVED by the King, their first true love and TODAY they are secure in Christ and if GOD is for them, who can be against them. Praise You Father for first loving them and calling each and every one of them Your Chosen One. I pray this sweet special prayer for My Little Sisters in need today. Oh My Father Above, do what Only You can do and do it mighty and Powerfully and let them all be encouraged today! Guard them and watch over each and everyone of them today, tomorrow and forever!
In Jesus’ refreshing and restoring Name, I pray confidently, Your Big Sister! Amen, Amen!
Amen & Amen
