I just have to tell you that the door bell ring that sounded when I pressed the play button on the video took me and my miniature schnauzer by surprise. It’s 11:00pm, and she sprang from her bed to let me know someone was at the door. I’ve tried explaining the situation to her, but she’s not buying it. She’s back in bed now but patrolling the room with her eyes and giving an occasional under-her-breath “woof”. Guess I can rest easy tonight; Heidi the Wunder Schnauzer is on the case!
Thanks for sharing the scripture from Proverbs today. It happens to be #2 in my memory spiral this year and the one thing that i wanted to see change in my life and have some victory over this year. I have made progress but latley I have found myself being annoyed with someone often. The same person. This morning I was having a dialogue in my head about a situation and found myself once again annoyed and I felt God’s displeasure and he reminded me of this verse. I needed to be reminded that it is a form of pride. I had some confessing and repenting to do.
Beth, I absolutely LOVE the video chats, and you totally crack me up. I would love to ‘hang out’ w/ you and absorb some of your infectious passion for the Lord and His Word!! Clapped and cheered for you completing the James study–can’t wait to go out and buy it… Blessings on you!
Kristi
Thank you, Beth! I will continue to pray for Melissa! i have been trying to pray for both of you every day. I really appreciated the verse you shared-so good and so true!!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I love your video today. I really needed to hear Proverbs 12:16 for me.
I am the yearbook adviser at my high school, so naturally I can’t please everyone. At the end of last year, one of my co-workers gnawed on me a bit because she was not getting more coverage in the book than she felt she deserved. Unfortunately, I gnawed on her right back. This was so wrong of me. I feel that I was probably defensive and tired of individuals feeling like their group was being singled out. They just don’t understand the process of publishing a book and budgeting for it. (I know you can relate to that). I need to remember to bite my tongue and remember God is in control. Thank you for this verse.
By the way, I have notebooks all around my desk too. I especially treasure my BSF notebooks that I have accumulated over the years. Thank you Jesus for Beth Moore and for YOU!
Love ya,
Genevieve, Orange, Texas
YIPPEEE!!!! On getting a little closer to the James finish line! Praying for Melissa. ๐
We spent today organizing our notebooks and getting ready for school to start next week. I have passed my love for school supplies on to my girls. ๐ Who would have thought binders and dividers would bring so much joy?!
Oh girl! Do I love notebooks and the cute little tab dividers too. I am so excited. Lord willing, I’m going to be able to go to Lubbock on Sept 10th. I have done many of your studies, but have never been to one of your conferences. I can hardly wait! Looking forward to hearing what God has put on your heart and what word He has for me! So thankful for your faithfulness to His call on your life. He has blessed me so through you. I consider you a dear friend and siesta and I so love studying God’s word together. Because of Jesus, Donna
Hey siesta mama!
Rejoicing with you on the completion of James! Can’t wait for the study to come out in November! (my birthday month by the way. November 16th to be exact.)
We are beginning the Revelation study at my church the first Tuesday in September and I am so excited! (if you see this I would appreciate your prayers as I am the facilitator) We hope to be able to minister to many women in our community!
Have been and will continue to pray for Melissa!
Thank you for The Word! Boy did I need that one!
(am I being annoying with all my exclamation points? lol)
Sending a big hug to you and Star!
Love you loads!
That’s my birthday too! ๐
Great to see you! Thanks for sharing with us. So excited for the James study. I will be praying for Melissa as she finishes up. Thank you for the word about not being so easily annoyed with people. I so needed this encouragement today. Loved seeing your fresh pretty face today and both of your eyes! lol
Love you, Dayna : )
Beth–you rock! Thank you to all the team at LPM…true servants indeed:-)

Dearest Beth!
I really needed to hear from you today! My daughter, 28, has reunited with her abusive former boyfriend. I found out one morning before I was to make a presentation to peers at work. I came home to a phone call that my husband’s cancer recheck had not gone well. So what a day! Praise GOD that now when the devil tries to take my peace, I can praise GOD anyway (this praising happened, however, after I had screamed and cried out to GOD for two days ๐ When I watch you, I know that I can get through this storm. You remind me to keep my eyes GLUED on the LORD. When I started writing the scriptures for the scripture memory team, I thought it was a good idea. But, when that nasty devil shows up now, I am armed and dangerous! I’m packing all right-Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 27:14; and so many others, too numerous but all in my heart!
Thank you for this wonderful idea…it is not just a fun way to celebrate our faith, it is NECESSARY!
Oh Sue – I am so sorry! I am praying for you today. I love what Kay Arthur said at a Deeper Still event. She said she wants to be like a picture of Daniel, she had hanging in her room as a child, where Daniel is standing, in the Lion’s Den, looking up at the light in the window. Keep your eyes on your King, ‘nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by a few” 1 Samuel 14:6. Do not be afraid. May you feel His peace and comfort in a powerful way today.
Praising God along with you that the James study is completed on your end and will continue to lift Melissa up as she completes her service, also.
I had to grin about the notebooks, but I confess I just LOVE brand spankin’ new spiral notebooks. I love how the paper looks and feels and it just tickles me pink to start a new journal in one. It’s funny how we each have those “things”, isn’t it? For some reason a new calendar each year makes me happy, too.
Have a blessed week, siestas!
Thank you for all the news, Siesta Mama! Thanks for sharing your “preparation process”. You are not only the “sweetest thang” but the “neatest thang”. From one ‘binder (notebook) girl’ to another … thank YOU for your faithful ministry to the Lord. You are His beautiful workmanship (Eph. 2:10).
Hugs!
Howdy Beth and LPMer’s:
May I just say how very much I appreciate you, your love for us and your love for God. And I love your quirky sense of humor. Probably because I have one too. Thank you for sharing it with us. Loved the scripture and explanation. So from now on I won’t say my husband or dogs or whatever may be buzzing around my ears are annoying me, I’ll just say they’re getting on my last nerve! Just kidding. I heed the word and will work on allowing it to be alive and active in my life.
Have a fruitful day!
Patsy
Beth,
I am so looking forward to getting the pour over that James study! Praying for the rest of the process to be richly blessed.
On a different note…(book), my job title recently changed temporarily while I worked on a project, and I was given a Staples office supply catalogue to complete my work. Oh My Word! I couldn’t believe all of the desk organizers, post its, pens, notebooks, and all things organizational:-) I appreciate your confession of a passion for notebooks.
Thank you sweet Beth for the update. I can not wait to do the James study. I have been excited about it for a while now. I love coming to the blog and seeing that you’ve made a video. It is so personal. Feels like we are just sitting there chatting. May God abundantly bless your LPL this weekend. I am about to get on the web site and buy tickets for myself and another couple of friends to go to LPL Pensacola. I am so looking forward to it, as it will be my first LPL in a couple of years and a chance to visit my girls back in P’Cola who I miss so much. Love you and so grateful for your example of God’s redeeming love.
Love the video chats! And your hair looks great! I’ll bet you love to wander in the school supply aisle this time of year, too! (I love notebooks, pens and mechanical pencils!) On a more serious note, the Word for today is quite fitting and convicting. I come from a family heritage that is characterized by being easily annoyed and it is a trait the Lord continually reminds me to be aware of in myself. Thank You for the encouraging reminder today! We are going to do The Inheritance this fall at our church and hoping to do the James study in the spring. So anxious to get back into group study with the gals from church!
Beth, Thank you so much for the Scripture today! I began my day with an easily annoyed moment. Fortunately, the Lord was my only witness. I do think I have more easily annoyed moments when I first wake up ;). I’m going to have to share this verse with my girls, too.
I had never connected annoyance with pride, but I can so see the connection in my own life.
I will be at the conference this weekend in Columbus and I CANNOT WAIT!!! I am so ready to be joined together with so many women praising God and learning! I am excited to hear what God wants me to know!
Mama Beth!! I REALLY hope you read this comment since you love dogs, and gave us that word about not being easily annoyed.
Okay, so my man just left last night, for Africa on a missions trip. Right before he left, we put the dog outside because our pastor was coming by the house to pick him up for the airport. We let the dog back in five minutes later, and she had ROLLED IN POOP!! I’m talking, both sides of her ears, IN her ears, deep in her fur, just had the best time in that stuff! I do believe that set the tone for my annoyance, because as I was bathing her for the second time with rubber gloves on and two “helping” children, I thought my head was going to explode. (God give me patience please…) Anyway, this was THE verse for me… because I just woke up annoyed after that. So glad I clicked on here today. Now I’ve got to go make up to a little boy I just got annoyed with a few minutes ago.
Thank you so what I needed to hear.
Video vs. typing… hmmm…well, let’s just put it this way, when I heard your voice and you started greeting “me” and talking to “me”, I teared up with joy. Sounds silly, I am not a lonely gal at all. I have 5 daughters, a ton of friends, a big and close family, and a great husband. But… you and all the Siestas are seperate and precious and something that is just private and mine, know what I mean? I loved hearing from you over tea.
Oh… and annoyed? One of my twin 15 year olds and I are working on that sin and continue to. I will share this verse and your wisdom about it with her tonight.
Great job, Beth! I’m looking forward to seeing the James study. I really admire all of the hard work you put into your writing.
I also appreciate you sharing the Proverbs verse. That is exactly what I need to hear as a I take on a new role and return to my teaching job. I have been asked to be the team leader for our fifth grade teachers, but it is not easy to lead a bunch of women! Dealing with drama and complaints is not my forte, but I pray for patience and a loving spirit.
Notebooks? You say notebooks? I love notebooks and all the little tabs, too! I think I “annoy” my husband with all my notebooks I have! (Not really) I love the beginning of the school year, because all kinds of cool colored notebooks hit the shelves!
Praising God the James study is in the final throes before publication.

Love the pale lipgloss!! Can’t wait to see you in Columbus! Love you, Beth!!
Thanks Mama Beth for the great video chat! Prayed for Melissa and saw on twitter today where she finished, hallelujah! I could sure use some siesta prayers for my son, Sam right now. Must if you probably remember back in June when he had a gas can explode on him and I asked for prayers, thanks to your pursuers and others He is doing so much better, although we found out today he has to have another skin graft surgery on Monday. He is supposed to start college on Thursday which will of course be delayed. He could really use some lifting up to our Father, and please pray that this graft will take and heal quickly. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for sharing this word!!!
Your bangs look super cute like that by the way ๐
Your verse of Proverbs 12:16 just confirms the verse that God gave me earlier this week from Proverbs 19:11 “A man’s wisdom gives him patience, it is to his glory to overlook an offense.” He laid this on my heart for the next scripture memory verse. Being handed the instructions to “overlook an insult” and “overlook an offense” tells me that something’s up and I’d better pay attention.
I really enjoy your video clips and celebrate with you the accomplishment of the James study. Can’t wait to get that study in my hands:)
Hey, Beth,
Praying over you and Melissa. Praying and binding depression from yall as you come down off your high. love you so much and look forward to unrushed time in eternity getting to know you and so many other people who have drawn me to Jesus!
Beth, i wish you could see my office as i am a notebook junkie, too! However, your notebooks are much too plain for your personality!!! go to google images and type in “retro” or “groovy” and you will get some great swirly pink backgrounds that will totally liven up your notebooks even more!!!
I love you and thank Jesus for how He used you to instill in me a burning passion for His Word!!!
Hey Beth…I am fairly new to your studies…(a year in)and I am finishing Esther right now, but look forward to James. I have been so blessed…seriously. I have been in Bible Studies all my life, but none, so exclusively written for “us girls.” Can I just say that you “get me?” I thank God for how He continues to bless your ministry and stir my heart through you. Praying for you! Love, Heidi
I just came upon this blog and being one of your “students” for a while now I always appreciate the “screen interaction”. Thanks for always keeping it real & light. Thanks for your dedication & passion and for letting God work through you. Looking forward to James’ study. May God continue to pour His blessings onto you! –
Hi Beth! Just wanted to say thanks for sharing. The verse stepped on my toes this morning. Something I really need to work on, especially these last days before the kids go back to school, ha. I thank God for you, and the times He has blessed me through you.
Blessings on your weekend.
Teresa
Hi Beth!
I’ve completed several of your studies and read your books with such blessing. Thank you for your devotion to the LORD – your obedience to His calling on your life has helped so many of us ladies in our own walks.
Anyway, I’m going to see you tonight in Columbus and CAN’T WAIT to hear what God is going to do through your ministry! Praying so much for you!

Oh Beth, I just have to say that every time I see you, I just want to cry. You have been such a HUGE mentor in my life…I cannot even begin to tell you everything God has done through you for me. Thank you. I have never written here before but with all my heart, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for you ministry. Love, Laura
Thanks for checking in! Needed that scripture. Praying for you and Melissa!

Dear Beth,
It is 3:30am on August 13th. I just watched your video from August 9th. Thank you for listening to God about the scripture verse you shared. It was for me if no one else. For the last several months I have been very annoyed with certain members at my church, people on my job and even with people in my family. When you read that verse immediately conviction was upon me and I cried out to God to forgive me for my foolishness and pride. Tying pride and superiorty to my annoyance with others never occured to me. I was just thinking that I had an issue with not being compassionate. Beth, thank you for your obedience to God. It allowed me the ability to ask for His forgiveness and repent before a fall. So grateful for a merciful God and a Bible study teacher who listens to Him. Thank you.
Much Love,
Jamison
Thanks Siesta Mama love seeing your face, and boy did that word hit home in my heart. May the Lord bless you for your service to His people!
Thank you for update on James. Changing your column in my prayer journal from “PRAY FOR” to “PRAISE YOU, LORD” RE: JAMES STUDY. And, yes, I will continue to pray for Melissa as she finishes up + next phase of getting this study done. Also in your column is: WISDOM, DIRECTION, STRENGTH, STAY TRUE TO WORD, BETH’S FAMILY, BLOG LADIES, CONFERENCE LADIES. Please share with us any new prayer needs. -faithfully praying, joyce
Thank you Miss Beth for that cute video, just the thing I needed in the midst of a tough summer, and a perfect word from the Lord, as usual! You are so much fun and make me laugh!!!
Missed you in Ohio today, I was coming home from helping rock some babies in Baton Rouge! ๐ Had a lot of “God sightings” on this trip, too, maybe I will get to tell you about them some day in heaven! Will continue to pray for His anointing all over your teachings… gotta run, Kindergarten Sunday school lesson to prepare for tomorrow!
Jen from OH
Thank you for this word! I have a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a two week old and everything is annoying me right now! I have also had several difficult changes occur in my work-at-home situation that have put the stress level over the top. I have been praying today for fresh insight and to just get out of my own way if you know what I mean. Well, I was led to this blog that I haven’t visited in a while. Truthfully I couldn’t really figure out why God led me to watch you talk about notebooks–although I can see my own personal stack from where I sit right now–but then when you read the verse I got it! God just totally exposed how prideful my annoyance has been! It was a floodlight moment and I am so grateful and no doubt my family will be also. Thank you!
So happy to hear from you again via video Beth:) I have been having some crazy days lately working out that salvation in me. Sometimes the battle with the flesh gets intense. I need much help from Him to stay the course and not drift! My sister was visiting from Texasland and then my husband went to Peru on mission trip last week and got back today. My car also was not starting this am for church, so not only was I somewhat late, I also had to drive my husband’s huge rumbly truck. I was snailing it through my neighborhood at 20mph, and laughing at myself at the same time with baby girl in the back seat talkin happy baby gibberish to me. I could feel myself getting shaky over the anxiety while I drove my 20mph up to the subdivision entrance. These are the days of my life right now:) Thanks so much for sharing with us where everything is with James, and where Melissa needs prayer. I definitely prayed for you this past weekend in Ohio. I prayed that it would be life changing for all there, a benchmark event in many lives to His glory!:) Makes me excited to think about the possiblilites. He’s soo good like that:) ((HUGS)) to you always Beth:)
SSMT #16 The LORD says to you, “Do not lose hope. The battle is not yours. It is mine.” 2 Chronicles 20:15 NIV
So enjoyed knowing you love to keep the notebooks. Me too!
Well, Beth, I just have to tell you it would be wonderful to read (or view a video) about your studying/writing strategies. I have Rick Warren’s book on studying the bible and it is pretty good about explaining the suggested 12 ways of doing so. It is not a recommendation, but merely an acknowledgment of the book.
Also, as many of us find ourselves looking at change because of the changing times, I find myself looking at the high possibility of more travel. Have never traveled away from home that much, but it appears the times and paradigms are changing and forcing me to consider this new unknown world of full time travel. The fear is balanced with the desire for challenge and prayers have been said over the situation. At this point, the Lord is pointing in a different direction, which is one of traveling for a business woman. I would like to ask you….how do you travel so successfully? Is it traveling with a team? Do you travel solo? What are your lessons learned from 30 years of traveling? Do you always check bags? Or check them at the gate? Or carry everything on-board? Do you end up checking bags because of hair products? Because of make-up? Because of shoes? Because of your study materials?
If anyone can answer these questions, I would appreciate some tidbits, lessons learned, anything you can offer up.
CJ
OK now… I am LOVIN’ the videos!!! I think this should be the way she/you communicate every time!!!
The Lord guides me to each blog post on the day that I need that fresh Word from Him. He always knows… I love that about Him. “Watch over how easily I get annoyed. Watch over our facial expressions” This word was for me!! I have been in a place of getting easily annoyed lately. With just about everyone & everything, especially with my 4 year old. Yes, this is a moment of confession. I have and to know that this is a form of pride and/or form of superiority is like a knife to my heart. I could use prayers on this for sure. I don’t want pride to creep in this way and honestly, I am tired of being annoyed. I just feel so crabby & I hate that feeling.
Beth, Thank you so much for speaking on the Lords behalf, it didn’t fall on deaf ears!
Love you always,
Hollie R โซ
