Your words from Proverbs were needed today! Thank you for sharing with us on the blog.

P.S. I like the hairstyle today.

Love you girl! Prov 12:16 … did you have a hidden camera watching me today? Felt like you were speaking the Word over me – thanks for sharing! Will have several friends joining you this weekend in Columbus … will be praying for you and for them! Wish I could be there! Thanks for all you do!!

My husband is a fellow notebook nut. He can tell you what he taught about at a youth event, what the event schedule was, what Buc-cee’s he stopped at on the way and how much he paid for each student’s chinese buffet on the way home. And, I got all of that from a binder on our library shelf from 2002!

Thank you for the encouragement and word on not being easily annoyed! I needed it!

You had me at our mutual love for index cards, but now, to know you’re a binder girl, too?! That made me clap my hands! I have white binders for everything…I start a new one every year, and I have one for every writing project…I love those slicky fronts.

I am preparing for a women’s retreat–only my second time to do speak!–so your research/prep tips are very much appreciated. Thanks for everything you do and are!

Oh, and PS, that doorbell sound at the beginning of the video sent my basset hound, Belle, to the front door with a howl. Maybe she was looking for Star!

    Sweet Beth,

1.Congratulations on the study and Praise the Lord! I can’t wait to dig into it.

2.Love the hair and the lipstick!

3.Love your printed words but love, love, love the videos. Keep them coming.

4.Back to school shopping is like seeing notebooks-a-glowing. Love them too!

5.My doggy is at my feet too and my 17yr old son is playing his guitar and singing praise and worship. A mother couldn’t be happier or more blessed.

Love you and Many Blessings to you,

I get so excited every time I check your blog and there is a new entry. I look for it several times a day. I just love you.

I have just started the Daniel Bible Study and I am so excited. I feel like a child on Christmas morning.

I thank God for you and the anointing on your life. Thanks for caring enough to do what you do.

    Beth ~

I am so excited for the new study of James!! I will pray for Melissa to finish up with her writing as well.

Also.. super excited that you will be coming to Columbus, OH in a few days & I got to see you LIVE!! I have to remind myself to look at you & not the big screen above like I did when you were in Pittsburgh!!

I want to thank you for encouraging me to read an English bible when I was a student at Texas A&M. You came to Rudder Tower (?) back in 1995 & a group of us, from InterVarsity fellowship came to listen. We came up to the stage after you’re done. You must have seen me kindda shy & stand on the back with my Indonesian bible, probably looking timid as well. You came up to me & asked questions as if you’ve known me before. I’ve met many friendly Texans but I have never met someone who really took interested in me like you did! You encourage me to read an English version bible & look at the word in the dictionary if I need to, to get a better understanding of His Word.

It’s been 16 years. That same bible I had from college is now full of words of explanation, both in Indonesian & in English. I haven’t miss any one of your bible studies. I even still have the cassette tape (cassette tape!!!) titled “Things I Wish I Had Known” from All Women’s Breakaway – Rudder in January 29, 2002!!!

Thank you for noticing me in the back behind my friends, thank you for the message you’ve delivered that day & thank you for caring for a timid, Aggies international student & esp. planting the seeds in me!

Looking forward to see you in the stage this Friday & Saturday & welcome to the Buckeye State!!!

    Love,
    Mia

      Becky in Indy says:

      Mia,
I’m an Aggie as well! I was Class of ’83 so much older than you but I love your story! Thanks for sharing. I actually started my Freshman year at San Marcos and was there the same time as Beth and Mr. Moore πŸ™‚ but, of course, I don’t think we ever met there. Believe it of not, I thought it was “too far from home” so transferred to A&M which was only 1 1/2 hours from my Houston hometown! Never would have guessed I would live in Ukraine for 9 years and now am in Indiana (talk about far from home!). I miss Texas!

      • Mia says:

        Howdy Becky!!

I would have said ‘Gig ‘Em’ but similar to your story, I also tranferred to Univ. of Texas during my Junior year. Hope your family & friends are okay from the Bastrop fire.

I miss Texas too & esp. Mexican foods. I even settle for Taco Cabana at this point. πŸ™‚

Wonder what the San Marcos Outlet look like now? πŸ™‚

    Kim says:

It has now been a year since I did one of your video bible studies. I forgot how much I missed them until I sat and watched this. Can’t wait for the James study to be published! Thanks for your never ending encouragement. You are the best.

Are you going to be doing a ticket give-away for Columbus?

Praying for divine blessings this weekend for you.

    With much love,
    Kim

    Hey Beth,

Good to see you and hear that James is almost finished. You can count on prayers from me for Melissa. I am so excited to see the finished product. Just started Stepping Up last night with a new group of ladies. I’ve done it but am so excited to do it again. It has been a couple of years.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule for us. I know I love hearing from you. Love the video messages. So fun. Praying for you all.

My facial expressions often are reflecting things I’m not even feeling, so I need to be extra, extra careful not to “get annoyed”. I will be doing 2 of Beth’s Bible studies this fall….A Woman’s Heart and Paul. It will be a commitment to stay up with the homework, but I can hardly wait to learn via Beth Moore’s unique teaching style!

Thanks for the vimeo. Loved the word in Proverbs…that pride stuff really is sneaky and is not always easily recognized when it is in my own life. I am a work in progress.

I love your videos. It just got me soo excited to see you this weekend in Columbus!! I am driving up from Spring Hill,TN (south of Nashville). One of my best friends has moved there, and we along with her sister are coming to see you!! That makes me twice excited to see you and her!

I always need to hear that word from Proverbs, I am the type that shows every expression on my face.

I am also excited about the James study. I got to see you in Hendersonville,TN during the taping. I am counting down until November. I am praying for Melissa.

    Love ya

What a pleasant surprise your video is today! Thank you for the verse, I so needed to hear that today! I’m working on this very subject at this time in my life. This will probably be my next SSMT verse. Stay cool and pray this horrible heat will end soon!

    Hello sweet girls at LPM,

Love this update! I cannot tell you how precious it is to know your “process” to get ready for events and Bible-studies…precious to me for sure!

Star how cute she is, love the thought of her running around with all you girls!

Praying for Melissa as she wraps up her portion!

I cannot wait to have James in my hands and getting deeply planted in my heart! Layer upon layer, love Gods Word!

    Love you guys=)

HOORAY and CONGRATS for finishing James! We’ll be looking forward to digging in to it! I am currently on week 5 of David: Seeking a Heart Like His. I may be facilitating it in the fall and wanted to get a head start! LOVING it! It totally spoke to me today!

    Beth,
Thanks for the hello. I needed a good cheering up and a good Word today. I’m so excited about James and can’t wait for it to hit the shelves. I will continue to pray for both you and Amanda. And, I am a notebook nut too. I also love page protectors. They make me happy! Isn’t that crazy? I’m glad I’m not the only one who is excited about such things.

Thanks for that incredibly convicting word today. I definitely needed it!

    Becky in Indy says:

Thank you! Loved seeing Star. Thanks for the remainder to not get easily annoyed. When I start feeling like EVERYone is annoying me, I have to look at the common denominator – it’s ME! Yikes! I’ve been starting to feel like that lately so this was definitely a Word from the Lord.

  23. 23

Beth, thank you for showing us your notebook system…very cool…and especially how you prepare for speaking at Living Proof Live events…great insight…I like the New Living Translation of Proverbs 12:16…”A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.” To stay calm, I like to remember The Message version of Matthew 11:28…”Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with meβ€”watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” …love that…”Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”

Beth, Just wanted to tell you that between the paler lipstick and the bangs to the side, you look fabulous. Congratulations on James. I can’t wait for it to hit my hot little hands. I will keep praying for Melissa as she finishes up her part. You spoke straight to my heart about being annoyed. In all my humaness, I forgot that it wasn’t really the other guys problem, but mine. It is amazing how many forms pride can take and all so ugly when you think about it. You are a God send. So grateful for how you let God use you. It has made a wonderful difference in my life. All my love, Lynda

Give her the strength to travel, the comfort of knowing You hear the desires of our heart, and the joy that comes from You. In Jesus Name Amen. Tell Mama Beth hello for me, and hang around the venu to watch for the location of the Siesta’s photo op so you can post later that was you on the front row standing by Mama Beth so you could say hi from yanna hee hee πŸ™‚

I rejoice with you on the completion of the James study and will continue to keep Melissa in my prayers.

    Thanks for taking the time.

Loved “seeing” you today Beth (weird calling you that – I feel like I should call you Mrs. Moore – old habits die hard:)). Thanks for sharing on the verse from Proverbs. That was one of my SSMT verses a couple months back and I need to be reminded about that a lot – the Lord is gracious to remind me through you!

Praise the Lord for finishing James; I will keep Melissa in my prayers as she finishes up. Love you guys!

Dear Beth you are just to cute with all your special little quirks of notebooks, bangs and all but I’m sure many of us identify with these same things your one special woman of God and we love you.I’m so excited to hear what God lays on your heart for this weekend in Columbus , it will be my first time to see and hear you in person. I’am also excited and will pray for Melissa’s writing I’m sure it will be awesome and that she will find it was well worth the hard work . God Bless

    Madelin says:

Thanks for checking in with us. Your word Proverbs 12:16 to watch over our mouth including our facial expressions which is especially difficult for me. I never thought about it as such but you are correct it is a form of nasty pride & superiority. As iron sharpens iron just another reason why you are The Siesta Mama and we love you dearly.

Got to see your precious first born & the P31 Ministry Team at Angelus Temple. They did some amazing ministry work serving at The Dream Center. Proud parent moment to see our kids serving the Lord wholeheartedly with gladness.

    Jennifer says:

Beth, I visit often, but rarely comment. Today I had to. I love hearing from you about the writing projects you are working on. I’m so excited about James! I also am a fanatic for all things that fall in the office supply category. :)…Thank you for the sharing Proverbs 12:16. I have been convicted about my tendency to react quickly out of annoyance and to act in pride.

Thank you for checking in via video, Siesta Mama! Love “seeing you” in person, and celebrating with you over the last period on the last page!!! Yay!!!! Been thinking and praying for you as you finished writing, and will now be remembering Melissa too! Just can’t thank you enough for pouring into Siestaville like you do, despite such a busy schedule. It makes us just love you all the more!!! Praising God with you for all that He has done through you!

PS. I have a fettish for notebooks too. Something about how organized they make everything. Love it!

So glad you finished James! Looking forward to the release.

Wish I could be in Columbus but I will be six weeks post hysterectomy and on Friday I am having surgery for kidney stones. Add two shoulder surgeries in Oct and Dec and that makes four….four too many! This has got to be the last!

Love the new hairstyle! I got a new cut but I cant’ fix it so …..back to the same old thing unless my stylist can teach me how to fix it.

    Kim says:

Oh, what I wouldn’t give to have a friend like you! I love your “quirky” ways, and your special “Texas greetings.” You are a blessing, and please know that you are in my prayers as you continue to serve Him.

  41. 41
    Kimberly says:

YAY!!! I loved seeing the front of that notebook. Columbus, OH!!! I am so excited to see you this weekend! I have been looking forward to this for almost a year and praying you’d come to Ohio since I first saw you in 2004! Please say a prayer for those who are suppose to be with me. They’ve had some last minute things happen that may prevent them from coming and I just know it’s satan trying to keep them from a blessing.

Congrats on finishing James! I’ve been reading it over and over again to prepare for your study. God reveals new things to me each time I read it. Can’t wait to do your study!

There’s a group of ladies coming from our church and they are all praying for you and the weekend. For some of them, it’ll be the first time to see you live. I’m so excited for them!

Love you Beth and can’t wait to see you (and Travis) on Friday!

    Kimberly

    Janice says:

    HI Beth,
Thanks for that fitting word from Proverbs today. I need that. My memory verse this time is Proverbs 29:11. Thrilled about the progress on the James study. Thanks for all your time, energy and asking God to pour over it. You and Melissa will continue to be in my prayers as this project comes to a close. I am so looking forward to doing this study.

I love seeing all your 3 hole binder notebooks. My bookcase at my office is loaded with binders with all my system documents regarding my job. I still have my Believing God binder with all the downloaded homework I did as an online study dated Oct,2002 with Hebrews 11:41 on the front.

Well, I did notice that your hair looked a little different, but it looks nice. I can identify with the bangs. My hair is so flat and I am so tired of the Justin Beiber look for bangs. I wish someone would invent a new hairstyle for me.

Beth, I love you dearly. Our Women’s Bible study is going to be doing Believing God this fall as we wait for James.
We are absolutely itchin’ for a new study.

    Hugs,
    Janice

    Jina says:

    Ms. Beth,

Loved your post. I am in San Antonio for the first time in my life. I have thought of you so often as I have been spending time alone in the hotel room. (my husband is here on business and I needed to get ready for a few things, my phone broke and God has had my attention)

I am doing Jesus the One and Only again (with my 4 kids ages 10-14). They each have been working through their own book and I want to encourage anyone who would love to pass on this passion for being in the Word, the kids have thrived with it. These guys eat this stuff up and are really enjoying getting to know some of the details about Jesus.

I was studying about Judas and the reality of how insidious sin is in our life. Your post today just reminded me of another opportune way that Satan loves to distract me from my first love. Thank you!

    Dearest Siesta Mama Beth,
Thank You so much for the video visit, I really needed to hear and see you this evening. Thank You God, for the much needed Word from Beth, I’ve been feeling very annoyed over almost any little thing lately, thanks for putting it in context for me.
Love binders myself!! So glad to hear that the heavy intense work of James is over you can relax a little.

  48. 48
    Leanne says:

I’m not being spiritual…but your hair really looks good like that! I think the lipstick looks great too. I want to say (I guess I am, so please do not hear that I am implying you looked old to begin with.) I always hate when someone tells me I look like I’ve lost weight…”what I was fat before” I want to say.So hear this from one southern girl to another telling you you look amazing!

  49. 49
    Debbie from Mississippi says:

    Beth,

Praising God with you on the completion of the James Study. Can’t wait to get it. You look fabulous with your new hairdo and pale lipstick!! You always look so young!
Blessing to you. I hope you have some time to rest and renew now that the study is complete.

    Nancy, Georgia says:

Beth – It is always so wonderful to spend time with you and I loved the verse from Proverbs. I so needed to be reminded on this today. You are always such a delight to spend time with and viewing and listening to you is so uplifting. I always come away from these “Checking In” segments refreshed. Thank you and God Bless the completion of James!

Beth-Thanks for the video update. It is WAY more fun to see your sweet face. I rejoice that the James study is completed. Prayed for you last week having the sense that you were at the end and needed a burst of Holy Spirit power πŸ™‚

Thank you for the Word. I am working through an issue with a friend whom I have known for 39 years. She has chosen to take a MAJOR OFFENSE over a loving comment made to her about her not smoking while I was caring for her. I have asked the Lord to search my heart and see if there is any offensive way in me. Have asked her to forgive me for hurting her feelings but do not believe it was accepted. Please Siestas pray that the Lord would direct me in what to do next!!!!

I love you Beth!!! Love to see your notebooks and the work that it takes to prepare for a LPM event. I will pray for Melissa. XOXOXOXO
