I was there for the LPL event in Charlotte, NC. AWESOME! I got to drive from PA to Hendersonville, NC to stay with my Grad school rommate Leeann and her beautiful, wonderful family. Plus got to hang out with her friend, and now my friend too, Anna. Had a fabulous lunch at Dean & DeLuca’s, I challenge Ms. Beth to be able to pick sixteen things to order, and eat them too, not possible. Wish I had several stomach’s because I would have had to try EVERYTHING ๐Ÿ™‚ and it would be more than sixteen for sure. Was blessed beyond measure with the Bible verse God/you chose to share with us. I will be resuming my life pronto and H.O.L.D.F.A.S.T God has set his love upon me, my new mantra. I got to see the Biltmore mansion, wow. The most memorable part of my trip was being one of the 91 Siesta’s at the event. Was completely surprised by having our picture taken with our Siesta Momma, thank you so much for that treat. I am in the first picture, third from the left in the back row, white shirt and glad I decided to wear some makeup, but need to work on that hair. I left there with a grin from ear to ear and a deep yearning for more of the Word and more understanding and discernment of the Word. Thank you Thank you and all the people behind the scenes and Mr. Travis and the beautiful music and beautiful voices. Blessings ๐Ÿ™‚

I just got to watch this after church today. Cannot wait till I can go through the James Bible study. Your taping was so needed, but you really spoke to me about attitude. I think I do pretty good there, but not as good as I should. Thanks for the reminder.

I was so convicted when I watched this last night on my phone. I was snuggled up in my mom’s guestroom re-playing the words I had spoken at my grandmother’s funeral on Friday. Thinking…I should have said this, or maybe I should have used this scripture…anyway..I was being critical, and I should not have been. I spoke what God told me to speak so why in the stinking world should I question that? Sigh…needless to say last night I could not leave a comment or a “thank you” cause..well, I didn’t want to say thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ Until today. Thank you for speaking holy words to this heart. They needed to sink in a little before I responded.

(And Star was adorable, my toy poodle was cuddled w/ me watching. His ears perked up when she popped up there!)

    Blessings,
    stephanie

    Siesta Mama,

If I am understanding your post correctly..there will be a Siesta gathering in Columbus? If so it is a prayer answered as I have been praying to meet you personally. Two years ago before the LPM Pittsburgh conference I had e-mailed LPM to see if there would be a Siesta gathering and was disappointed to find out there would not be.

Counting down the days to August 12th!
    God Bless You!

Just wanted to let you know that Kaye and I were there in Charlotte as well but were on the Concourse due to Kaye’s wheelchair and missed the elevator and thus the pics. Just for the record. ๐Ÿ˜‰ HOLDFAST

Loved this post. Wanted to say, thank you for being so available to us. You give so much of yourself. I just finished 90 Days with David. God used it in my life in amazing ways. The timing of each of the readings was exactly on target. My own life went throught the joys, unspeakable sadnesses, and the new visons. I see David in a new light. I see God in a new light. Jesus alone.

Appreciated the good word, Beth! I do feel like I have the gift of discernment but then can turn around and make myself sick with a critical spirit! Never really thought about those two being so closely related… makes sense, though!

You know, it just occured to me yesterday while standing in the make-up aisle looking at the lipsticks and wondering if I should do this, too, when I realized why the paler lips bug me! With my blind eye looking so weird, it is the dramatic eye part of that that bothers me. I do not want to draw attention to my left eye, so no way am I gonna do dramatic eyes, so no pale lips for me!!! But for you, it works fine. You don’t have that issue.

    Shellie P.

P.S. So needless to say I didn’t get the paler lip color, which made my hubby very happy! Less money spent! He’s home by the way, and we are enjoying each others company for the first time in a long time!!!!

I was in Charlotte (second picture back row with the red hair). Thanks you so much for the message about a critical spirit. I have 2 friends who seem to always be critical of everyone and it’s difficult not to get sucked into that attitude when I am around them. I love the statement “All we have the power to change is our attitude” I wish I could get that message over to them. Also love your message about H.O.L.D.F.A.S.T. God has set his love upon me. I am holding fast to Him and no air is between us.
I just recently bought some pale lipstick, not sure I like it on me but it looks great on you. Praying for the Columbus LPL and looking forward to the Simulcast in Sept.and the James study in November.
    I love you siesta Mama

    Cynthia says:

Cynthia, Richmond, VA – Beth, you are beautiful with pale lips, dramatic lips, or lips without anything on them at all. I won’t go so far as to say without lips but if anyone could pull it off, you would be the one! Your love for the Lord is evident and quite contagious. That’s why your lip color just doesn’t matter although I will say I’m loving the look in your video this morning. Also, I would keep in mind what you’re Honeybunch, Keith, loves. He has an important vote.

Stacy Indianapolis, IN Phil 3: 13-14 ESV Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own, but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

    Emily Brewer Miceli says:

Complaining can be so much fun, and I have had a blast doing it — to the edification of no one. In fact, Ramadan started here today (August 1, Abu Dhabi, UAE), and I’m fasting with my Muslim colleagues so we can all GRIPE together about how hungry we are!

Actually, I’m fasting (at least today…) really to be a witness and a vehicle for prayer for Muslims. Beth, you reminded me that I want and need to shine the joy and love of the LORD, Messiah Jesus, to truly be his witness.

When are you doing Living Proof Live here?!

    Del says:

Del from Clarksboro, NJ “Brothers and sisters, if a person is discovered in some sin, you who are spiritual restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness. Pay close attention to yourselves so that you are not tempted too.” Galatians 6:1 Borrowing Beth’s Scripture since it’s exactly what I needed now, already handled the situation wrong!

    WendyB says:

Ok, OUCH on the critical spirit words…times, like…1025. Thank you, Beth, for articulating what has been nagging at my conscience for weeks now. I really, really despise the part of myself that judges, dismisses, criticizes.
And I’m so proud of you for embracing the pale lip. The last time I tried it, I was teaching preschool, and my most earnest 3-year-old boy student looked at me with a very puzzled, scrunchy-nosed frown and said, “Miss Wendy, what’s wrong wit cho face?” Berry lips forever for this girl.

  17. 217
    Jana says:

Thank you for that word over us in this video. It is something I needed to be reminded of (again).
I loved you top, Beth. It looked wonderful on you as did the lighter shade of lipstick! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lovin’ the LPL Siesta pics!! It’s fun to see actual faces of the siestas and not just names. My computer won’t let me look at the videos right now, sad:( I will have to try to watch them later:)

This was an amazing conference. I think it was the best one yet. It felt like the lesson was written especially for me. Last week I felt like I had a renewed spirit. I will never forget H.O.L.D. F.A.S.T God has set His love upon me.
How can anything of this world come close to comparing how much God loves us?

    Diane from Utah says:

What gorgeous ladies in the pictures. I love how women of God coming together to praise and worship Him seem to glow, and all are beautiful! Looking forward to you coming to Salt Lake City at the end of August. Siestas, please keep this location and upcoming event in your prayers, for God to move and do awesome things, as it is a city of daily spiritual warfare.

    Haley Barrett says:

Hola Siestas!! I was in Charlotte along with 7 other woman from my church; what a precious time! Through the weekend I heard, “Siestas,” over and over and thought, “What in the world is that? We get nap time?” Well I was sure to do my research after arriving back home. I LOVE what I have discovered. I just wanted to say I’m proud to now be a Siesta. Praying for you allll!!!

Yay, I got to see this video on my computer that works!:) Always good to see a greeting video from you Beth. I’ll bet your done with James by now! Exciting! I realize it can be somewhat sad ending something you have worked so hard at though. Nevertheless, it is time! The beautiful thing is there is something else next in His timing too, just as rewarding as James, Esther, Patriarchs and others:) He is glorified, and you get to be used by Him to teach a new generation of new creation women! You are one blessed woman Beth:) Thanks for this word to us also. I want to be aware when my attitude is seriously lacking the Spirit led characteristics of a woman who seeks after her God. To be contagious in my attitude in an edifying way to the glory of the Lord-that sounds fantastic to me:)

    Blessings:)

I am so thrilled to see today on the Lifeway website where we can pre-order the James study! Part of my job here at FBC Clarksville is getting to order materials for classes so I placed our order today! Our Pastor announced that beginning in September we are going to be studying James!

Thank you, Beth, for being God’s faithful servant and teaching us His Word! L-O-V-E IT!

Don’t ya just love growing closer to Him? I do.

    Beth,

Thank you so much for what you shared with us here! You spoke straight to my heart.

Thanks for sharing from your heart with such genuineness.

    Your doggie is DARLING!

As far as the lipstick goes, I’d add a little more color. You’re just not a “pale lips” kinda girl. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am SO DISAPPOINTED that I won’t be able to be in Columbus! My nephew is getting married that very day. I will be with you in spirit though…and in that Seista pict as well!

    Love you!

Thank you so much for sharing and being an obedient servent to deliver God’s Word to those of us who attended the Charlotte event. My 20 year old daughter attended and enjoyed it! I hated to have missed the Seista picture afterwards but hope to catch it another time. God Bless!!

    Kate says:

Om my gosh, I totally thought something looked different about you. Fresher, a bit dewey, younger….and then you mentioned it…your lip color!! That is it! I love that you bring up the most important things here….lip color for sure is it!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love you so much! I am way behind in my memory verses…trying to keep up with my life. And trying to get use to a new computer to boot…!

    Love you so much.

    Beth,
I will be in Columbus!! I will be there with 6 of my Bible study sisters…and we have a story for you. I really hope that you get it and have a chance to read it. One of my sisters wrote our true story of friendship ordained by God and fused through the Esther Bible study almost 3 years ago!
I can not wait for LPL next weekend. Eeeeekkkk! There will be many other women from my awesome church as well. I hope that I can sneak in for a Siesta picture.
    Much love,
    Cindy

I was at Charlotte for the conference but was with a group of ladies and did not get to meet with the Siestas. SO SAD! I know Beth’s schedule is packed but wouldn’t it be great if the siestas could get together and spend time with Beth!!!

    Anita Siecker says:

    Beth,
The Lord used your words – His word – to convict me about my ATTITUDE in reaction to the circumstances He has allowed me to be in. I NEVER want to be a reactionary Christian that turns anyone away from the Lord’s joy & salvation. I also have the gift of discernment and find myself doing way too much critiquing of the people around me who are so critical! Duh! Now there was some good stepping on my toes that I needed…and food for thought and prayer. What a helpful word you brought!
I love how seriously you brought the news about your lipstick. You are a beautiful person no matter!
AND . . . MY BORDER COLLIE, Waverly, perked up and began to react to the sounds of your Starr on the computer when you introduced her! How fun, they are Siestas too ๐Ÿ™‚
    With love,

    Kelhe says:

Spiritually speaking of course…ha! I can SO relate to your lip color dilima. Being from the south myself (big hair, red lips, etc.) I got the most treasured compliment this past February. I live in Colorado now and so many times people say something like “you are not from here…you must be from the south or Texas” and I say yes. But my most complimentary was when a woman approached me at the ski lodge and said “you must not be from here because you wear makeup.” I LOVED IT!!! Hang in there with the new “look” – my girls try their best to keep me current. Thank you for the message of the discerning spirit vs. critical spirit – I SO agree! Blessings of joy to you!

    Andrea says:

    Beth,

Just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know that I was in Charlotte too… Oh my GOODNESS! What a moving weekend that was! 9400 female voices singing praises to God in unison dissolved me to tears. If I were to imagine what God’s heavenly angels sound like, it would have to be that.

I went to Charlotte looking for answers, and I left, having found them! Thank you for being God’s microphone!

I’m a 35 year old working wife and mother, who has been feeling God’s call for some time to go back to school and finish my college education. I’ve been ignoring it for so long, but after Charlotte, I knew what I had to do. I filled out my application yesterday to return to school in January to seek a BA in Bible Studies. I’m still not sure what God plans for me after that’s done, but I know He wouldn’t send me down this path for nothing.

You are an inspiration to so many. Stay strong in Christ, and HOLD FAST!

    – Andrea

    Molly says:

God is good. I just stumbled across this video greeting today (8 Aug), after realizing I am again plagued with a critical spirit, praying just this morning for help in changing my attitude. Phil 2:14-16 are old friends and I praise God (and thank you) for bringing them back to my mind.

Thank you for filling my day with a little more life!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Great Word from the Lord! Thank you for sharing!
You are a blessing to my life, and I can’t wait until the James study comes out. I actually just started James with a Bible study group I have here…First week…three verses! ๐Ÿ™‚ How in the world did you do it in only 7 weeks!? I’m gonna have to start givin’ ’em homework. I’m hoping for online videos with this one so us girls in Guatemala can get them too! ๐Ÿ™‚ Much love!!!!!!

    Siesta Mama!!
I will be in Columbus this weekend with my very best friend and I just had to share that this morning even my husband got in on the excitement. He comes to the bathroom as I am getting ready and says “just think 5 days til Beth Moore!” It was so funny! Maybe he’s trying to get rid of me?!? But I’m thinking he knows I need a Word from our God and he knows you will be faithful to speak that Word!
    Can’t wait! See ya soon!

  41. 241
    kimberly says:

    Beth,

I just love you to pieces. Thanks for always keeping us in the Word and laughing too ๐Ÿ™‚ Reminding me and the rest of the Siestas that we do have control over this part of the way we see the world, and how we relate to each other and the experiences. I find myself stuck in a critical spirit quite a bit, and I do have the gift of discernment as well. It is a battle and something I have to constantly be aware of and fighting against it. That is one thing I love about you, you have the ability to genuinely love others and see the world from the eyes of our savior Jesus, and keep a perspective that is always focused on the kingdom vision. Wish I could have made it to Charlotte!!! sending prayers for you ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for always being vulnerable and real.

  42. 242
    Sara says:

My, oh my did I need to listen to this today! That word was most definitely for me…the part about watching your attitude. My current work situation is frustrating and I’ve been letting it effect me and I’ve just had a terrible attitude. So, thank you for this reminder!! I have yet to make it to a LPL event and am hoping one comes close to my town soon!!

Thanks for the word. I really needed to hear that about the pale lip color and high sheen.

Loved hearing star rustle around and shake her collar in the background. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I couldn’t be at LPL in Charlotte because I was “next door” at the She Speaks Conference in Concord, NC the very same weekend!!! So hard to be so close and yet so far – but I know I was right where God wanted me to be and I’m hoping that I get to see you in Pensacola, FL in December since that is only an hour away from where I live ๐Ÿ™‚

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your “baby” – she’s just bee-u-ti-ful ๐Ÿ™‚

    Groovewoman says:

Another Word from the Lord for me. A critical attitude goes right along with how easily we get annoyed, that you spoke on in the Aug 16th video. (yes watching these out of sequence, i know, sorry) Both of these go hand in hand with each other. Annoyance can bring a critical attitude and a critical attitude can bring on annoyance. Wow – I am hearing with both ears, Lord!

    Thank you Beth!
