Just Saying (an obviously sleepy) Hello

Siesteville from LPV on Vimeo.

Hey, Sweet Things! Amanda, Melissa, and I are on a night-or-two-close-by-getaway and we watched that silly video together last night and nearly laughed till we cried over how tired that woman was. The irony was that I actually thought I had rested up a bit. (And said so.) I could hardly put two words together. BUT, it was done with love! If not brain cells! You are good sports.

It was so fun watching this video. While my husband and son were watching the Detroit Tiger baseball game I put my earphones on and sat with my laptop watching and listening to the video! I was laughing out loud about the Crisco annointing oil incident. It does seem to fit because if the set is like a place for the poor, the poor certainly couldn’t afford frankincense and myrrh!!

Glad you are back home and enjoying some special time with your girls! Have a blast!!

The other day, I asked a friend of mine if she’d ever done a Beth Moore study. She said, “Beth who?” I said “What?! Oh honey!” Needless to say, she’s been introduced! Hahaha

This video makes me feel sad for the people who’ve not “met” you yet or gotten to see the grace and goodness of God through your eyes. That’s the BEST part, right?…. God chooses whoever He wants to to bring all the attention back to Him!! I love it!!

    Much love

      Margie,
If only you knew how much I wanted to go to hear Beth Moore in person and meet her personally~God has really used her to touch lives and it is amazing the power, the love God has poured out to do His work through her ministry. Her dependence and love for God is so very evident.
It would be a humbling experience to meet someone so dedicated and faithful to our Lord.

You’re a sweetheart Beth-tired or not, hair done or not, makeup on or not, we are always happy to hear from you via video:):) Cuteness jacket too, fun. That is amazing, all of us praying for you, and many of your fellow teachers who are out there writing and teaching Bible studies praying for you too. I’m sure alot of us here on the blog were thinking about you and the crew and the taping, I know I did. This reminds me that His divine power really has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness…it looks like the fervent prayers of a bunch of women (and some men I’m sure:) who love the Lord “availeth much” during your tapings:) Extra blessings to you tonight, Beth.

P.S. I just got introduced to you via the Ester Bible study and now Daniel. It has completely changed my life. My Dr, this AM, just marvels at my progress. My daughter and I are driving a total of 1000 miles to see you next weekend. She just graduated from college and is starting grad school next fall. At 39 she has 2 new hip replacemnets and now jogs every day. Our hope is that we can at least give you a hug as do 4000 other women! Everyone wants you to hear thier life story too! I hope and pray we all have safe travels and can meet each other face to face for a split second in time! Love and Hugs from the Heart land, Betty M

Love the jacket! Love love LOVE the crisco story! Laughed so hard I almost woke the baby! Classic. Could you imagine if you asked for salt? HA! And love too many times to count how the Lord has anointed LPM and this particular study. I don’t know how many weeks the study runs, but is it possible that Siestas could be in it or finishing it when we SSMT’ers see each other (Lord willing) in January?
Sabrina – we’re almost birthday buddies as mine is Saturday – I would have loved to have seen your ‘do’ over those headphones. Birthday Blessings!
Thanks for the tender, fun, studio-quality taping! You are all adorable over there.

    Beth,
I could not love you more than I do now. I love the Crisco oil as I have used it on occasion myself to annoint my sleepy child after a horrible nightmare.
You amaze me, Beth. In a way, I am jealous of you. I can’t even begin to think of doing what you did last week and be able to get out of bed the following week AND produce a video on the blog. Girlfriend, I am ready for a nap just by thinking about it. In fact, I would be more than happy to interceed on your behalf by taking a nap for you! That is one thing I do very well. I think it is my calling. πŸ™‚ Love you muchly, Kels

Love you lots, Beth. Have fun with your girls! Kels

    Joy says:

    Beth,
So loved to hear that you anoint with Oils. I did not know that you did this before.(crisco or not) I am Catholic and 56 years of age. when I was about 50 our church did a renovation. We had a service to dedicate our new house of the Lord and the Bishop attended. the Bishop anointed the alter , ambo and all doors and many other things in our church with the sacred Chrism oils. It was a beautiful service and symbolic or not I know the Lord knows our hearts and that we are doing it as a way to say this is holy ground dedicated to the Almighty. The reason I mentioned my age was because I didn’t know we used the oils for this . I had never been at a new church dedication.

  15. 165

Thank you so much for all your hard work on the James study. We can hardly wait for it to come out. One of our sweet ladies at church has already given the money for the DVD’s and they aren’t even out yet!! πŸ™‚ I guess that just goes to show you how much we are looking forward to this study. We need it so badly! Thanks again!

You used the word hilarity! I love it! I first studied this word when I was reading a book by a wonderful teacher of the Bible named Marva Dawn. She wrote Truly the Community. Have you heard of her? You should definitely read her book with a few friends! It walks through Romans 12 and using the gifts that the Lord has given us for our community. Fantastic!

I LOVE that you changed the title, just about cracked me up:)
I just bought new contacts (Been seeing 20/50 for almost 2 yrs)- and let me just say seeing myself in the mirror..

Mama Beth. I am so crazy about you too! I have been so blessed to be a part of Siestaville, to learn underneath you and most of all to be transformed by God! I’m looking forward to seeing you in Mpls in 7 days. Please know that I’m praying for you, Travis, and your entire team as God brings you here. I’ll pack a little Crisco just in case. And yes, sign me up for one of those darling jackets! Simply fabulous!

Hey Sweet Beth! Loved the video! Made me smile! It is amazing how energized at our age we think we are but sadly our mind is energized but the body is slow to follow in line. Anytime I get a chance to spend video time with you is a blessing. Love those tweets as well. Hey one thing, you did mention about the Siesta jackets, you said you would be mentioning them a bit later. I thought you would do so at the end of the video. Would love to know how to get one. Thanks Beth!

James is one of my favorite books of the Bible. Looking forward to this study. We have used kitchen oil several times when we had nothing else to annoint with. I always get a laugh out of it, and figure God probably does too.

    Julie Reynolds says:

I loved watching this! Tired or not, the joy of sharing what happens when our Siesta Mama asks for prayer is always so exciting. Today was the first chance I have had to actually sit down and listen to the video – I am so glad I waited so that I could laugh and savor each moment. You will never know how humbling it is to know that our Father gives us this community to share, pray, and learn together and then blesses us with one on one(even through video) with our dear mentor/teacher/friend! You made my Saturday!

    Sweet Mama Beth,
Thank you so much for the update on the taping! I did pray for you last week as I walked through my neighborhood, spiral in hand. It was a joy to bring your name before the Father. I hope you are getting some well deserved rest as well as refreshment this weekend!
    Love you!

    Valerie says:

God’s ways—wow!! Beth, I saw on one of your tapings on Life Today that you mentioned how God has taken you back to verses you had memorized MANY years ago, but He has asked you to memorize them afresh and in a new translation. Well, He seems to be doing that with me quite abit this year in 2011 and not just in verses but in many areas–taking me back to teachings, things learned in the early years of my walk with Him,reminding me and learning a new and afresh the preciousness of our Savior and His Truths. Anyway, my first and last quarter at college were in the month of January and the spiritual emphasis week topic was the book of James, this January will be 22 years since that study—the time we will probably do your James’ study at our women’s group at church. I keep saying “WOW GOD” and thanked Him for the opportunity to be apart of those praying through the taping of this study! Looking foward with great anticipation to studying James through what He has given His servant Beth, because like so many Siesta’s and other women, God has used His vessel Beth to draw me and deepen my love and appetite for my wonderful, awesome Savior! Looking foward to seeing you in Columbus, Ohio Aug.

Thank you Beth, love hearing from you. Can’t wait for the James study. Keeping you all in prayer.
Thanks for the encouragement to not compete with each other. Sometimes I struggle with these feelings toward a friend and I don’t want to be that way. I don’t understand why it is this way with a certain friend, but that I feel this from her also. This is something I am praying about and keeping my focus on the word, but I think that many of us need a reminder word now and then.
    Love you!

    Dear Beth,

You are and have been such a positive influence in my life, especially in the past year. I attended my 1st week-end conference with you last August, 2010 at your Lexington, KY conference. I am so excited about your conference coming up this August (2011) in Columbus, OH !!!

Today I attended a memorial service of the husband of a college friend. The opening hymn was “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” The chorus is so meaningful and so powerful.

    “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
    “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
    Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath providedβ€”
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!

I thank you for your faithfulness to God and to so many in your Siestville blog. Blessings to you and to all of your family.

This had been the most trying time of my life. But God has continued to show his grace over me everyday. In the past 3 months my oldest daughter was married, I came home to a drunk husband who admitted to a inappropriate sexual Internet and encounters, asking for divorce. After 23 years of marriage and his family completely turning there backs on me. He took all the money from our account and now here I am. But God is there and here now, I have the house God wants me to have was approved for my loan , purchased a home at a great price and am closing all in 3 weeks. Even purchaseing the bedd fort my bed room. I called a certain bedding store and was asking about shipping and using the 3 twenty percent coupons I had. She stated that she would wave the shipping was 20.00 and then she said we normally don’t do this you have to be in the store to order but I’ll just apply the coupons I needed one more and I said that I would have one of my coworkers print one, she said that’s ok I will just apply it. In all it saved me 75 dollars. So now I feel I have the bedding God wants me to have. Continue to pray for me
