My Dear Ladies,
It has been *so* long since I have written on this blog. WOW. Things have been so busy at work and around the Fitzpatrick house but today I got some news that compelled me to get on the blog immediately. Joanne Heim, a dear siesta, suffered a stroke this morning. She is the thirty-eight year old wife of Toben and mother of Audrey (12) and Emma (9). Some of you around here may know her as the Simple Wife. Joanne has inspired me countless times with her witty and profound comments. She is a brilliant student of Scripture, an amazingly devoted wife, and a fun and creative Mom. The last time I heard from her she told me that she was teaching her girls Greek. My heart was pierced when I heard the news a few hours ago and I have not been able to get the Heims out of my mind. Please hear me when I say that I know nothing except that Joanne has been in surgery, they located a blood clot, and she is out of surgery. I have been stalking news about her on Twitter, and apparently she is still sleeping but has been responsive by squeezing her husband’s hand. The family will not know anything substantial until she wakes up. I am not an authority on what is going on as I have very few details (and the ones I do have are from Twitter!), but Mom, Amanda and I do want to invite you to pray for our dear sister Joanne. If you feel inclined, please use the comments on this post as prayers for Joanne and family. We have been told that there is a call to prayer tonight at 6:00 CST. Check Twitter (@joanneheim/#prayingforjoanne) because the last we heard, they were going to try to Skype. No matter when, no matter where, let us all join together and pray for all things concerning the Heim family.

You are holy. Your daughter, Joanne, one of Your own, is in desperate need for a touch from YOU. Please anoint her with Your Holy Spirit, in JESUS’ NAME, and for HIS sake! Please allow her to have a full recovery of body, soul, mind, and spirit so that she can raise her children, love her husband, and fulfill all that you have called her to BE for Your Kingdom purpose! We ASK You because we have the freedom in Christ to approach Your Throne of Grace for this request. May it be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen and Amen!

Heavenly Father-
I raise up Tobin and Joanne and their girls to you today. I ask for your hand upon them, your comfort, your love, and your perfect peace. Father I pray for there to be no swelling in Joanne’s brain, and that they would experience no hemorraging. Lord- I ask for your healing to come upon this beautiful wife, mother, sister, and daughter. That you would heal her and restore her.

Lord, you said that if two of us on earth agree about anything we ask for, it will be done for us by Your Father in heaven(Mat. 18:19). We believe that by Your stripes, we have been healed(1Pet. 2:24). We agree for complete healing through Joanne’s body in the name of Jesus, our Healer. We all stand in agreement for her healing.

Dear Heavenly Father, we unite in Spirt to pray for Joanne and ask for complete healing and recovery for her. Only You, Father, know the plans that you have for Joanne and we know they are for her good and not for evil. Shine Your face upon her husband and give him the wisdom to make the decisions that need to be made, to create normal routines so the children will not be swept up in emotion. Thank you Father for taking care of them and providing the comfort and peace that they need during this critical time. May they keep their eyes on You and not the situation. Give the doctors, nurses, and anyone else connected the wisdom, understanding and compassion that is needed to help Joanne recover one hundred percent. We thank You, LORD that we can come to Your throne of mercy and obtain grace to help in time of need. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for giving Joanne the best that You have for her. I’ve been praying, and will continue to ask the Great Physician to grant wisdom to the doctors and nurses and complete healing to our Sister.

You are a God of miracles and nothing is difficult for you. May Joanne come out of this with no lasting changes except a mighty testimony that glorifies you!!

Father, I pray also that her family – Toben, Audrey, Emma, Kristen, and her parents, would have peace and comfort, and be freed from stress and worry. Comfort them and draw them close to You Lord, and I pray you will surround them with friends and church family to minister to all their needs.

I am so thankful for a community of caring sisters and for the way a young woman in Colorado can invade my heart. Joanne needs Your healing touch. Only say the Word, Lord, and she will be healed. Speak healing over Toben and Audrey and Emma and give strength to go the course. Your Healing Hand is all over this, and I am already thanking You for all You’ve done and will continue to do on our sweet sister’s behalf. Grace them with Your presence in that hospital room. Jesus, When I read the news already over 200 women have lifted up our sister- thank you for the Body of Christ, thank you – you are good, you are God. Lord, Joanne is resting in your arms right now- may you also bring comfort to her husband and her precious young girls. May their faith be strengthen during this time- may their trust in You grow. Lord, we come to you- we lift up Joanne knowing that our hope is found in only You- that you are the everlasting Father who loves His children such a great love. Thank you. Lord, I lift up other siestas who face difficult medical problems today as well. Lord, you know every name and every need. I praise you and thank you- Amen.

I pray your presence will be heavy on this family as they go through this difficult time. May they sense your complete control of this situation and have unexplainable peace during such a scary time. Diminish the “what ifs” from their thoughts. Holy Spirit, remind them of God’s promises. Gather up your children to encourage and support them, to rally around them. I pray complete restoration of health and for all to know this was the Lord’s work! May You be glorified in this situation.

Matthew 8:15—just as Jesus touched the hand of Peter’s mother, I’m touching Joanne’s hand on the computer picture. God, would you show up for them this afternoon? “Only say the Word” Matthew 8:8. She’s a beautiful girl who loves you so! Isaiah 40:2 – would you lower this mountain she faces? Standing with her and all of you in prayer for this precious friend! Eph 3:17-20

Father, I pray for a miracle right this moment, I pray for a healing, I pray for Your glory to be demonstrated as the doctors stand amazed at your handiwork. Oh Father, I pray for strength for this family, may they feel your arms that are around them and may they feel the prayers that are going up to the throne for them right now. May you provide for the financial needs, the physical needs and the emotional needs. Jesus, I know how precious children are to you.
