My Dear Ladies,
It has been *so* long since I have written on this blog. WOW. Things have been so busy at work and around the Fitzpatrick house but today I got some news that compelled me to get on the blog immediately. Joanne Heim, a dear siesta, suffered a stroke this morning. She is the thirty-eight year old wife of Toben and mother of Audrey (12) and Emma (9). Some of you around here may know her as the Simple Wife. Joanne has inspired me countless times with her witty and profound comments. She is a brilliant student of Scripture, an amazingly devoted wife, and a fun and creative Mom. The last time I heard from her she told me that she was teaching her girls Greek. My heart was pierced when I heard the news a few hours ago and I have not been able to get the Heims out of my mind. Please hear me when I say that I know nothing except that Joanne has been in surgery, they located a blood clot, and she is out of surgery. I have been stalking news about her on Twitter, and apparently she is still sleeping but has been responsive by squeezing her husband’s hand. The family will not know anything substantial until she wakes up. I am not an authority on what is going on as I have very few details (and the ones I do have are from Twitter!), but Mom, Amanda and I do want to invite you to pray for our dear sister Joanne. If you feel inclined, please use the comments on this post as prayers for Joanne and family. We have been told that there is a call to prayer tonight at 6:00 CST. Check Twitter (@joanneheim/#prayingforjoanne) because the last we heard, they were going to try to Skype. No matter when, no matter where, let us all join together and pray for all things concerning the Heim family.

What likely happens, isn’t usually what my Lord rolls with, HE IS A REBEL in the Good Way! You are permanatly in my thoughts and lifted in prayer and you family, that they would just be wrapped so beyond words in HIS love and peace and that their eyes would be fixed on JESUS!
LORD how we love you, and know you are in control. Totally! Bring full healing and restoring to Joanne, knock the medical community off their feet, in Jesus Name Amen!
I am praying for healing and restored health for Joanne and for strength and peace for her family and friends and for wisdom for all of her doctors and nurses. Praying now!

Sometimes Twitter can be a distraction and devour our time, but today it was a blessing. It has been a privilege to join with other siestas from all over in lifting Joanne and her family up in prayer.
Many of us spent today sharing the emotions, quoting Scripture, praising God, and realizing just how special Siestaville is. I am so thankful to be a part of it.

We’ve been praying here all afternoon. I KNOW Jesus is with sweet, Joanne and her precious family. May the God of all comfort fill those around her with His presence and His peace. Nothing takes Him by surprise and He is faithful to us! I pray for complete restoration, healing and peace while He shows us who He is. He is the author and finisher of our faith and writing a story that I KNOW Joanne will use to glorify Him with everything in her. Praise your Holy Name, Father!

Jesus, I’m reminded of what a holy and sacred moment it is when we come before You. Because when we cry out to You, I know that You lean in close to hear.
Jesus, we are doing that — crying out to You on behalf of our sweet friend, Joanne. Your Word tell us that our life is just a vapor and that You have them all planned out before the first one flies off the calendar. We’ve been reminded of this today in such a powerful way because just this morning we were giggling with our Joanne about her firebuilding woes and then the horrible news came.
Jesus, we will not stop asking for Your healing for our friend. We hear that her doctor’s have done what they have been trained to do. Now we ask You do to do what only You can do. You created her beautiful mind and now we ask You to heal it through and through.
God, I KNOW that Joanne will declare Your praises no matter what. But I KNOW FOR A FACT that no one will give You glory for complete healing like she will. That’s what we want for our friend — for You to completely heal, completely restore and completely redeem.
Jesus would You wrap Your arms around Toben, the girls, Jo’s sister and her parents? Would You give Toben clarity of mind to make decisions for His wife’s good and answer the difficult questions I know those sweet girls have. Would You bring many people to come and minister to this family?
Jesus, I pray that even right now every cell of Joanne’s brain is being healed thoroughly and that step by step she is made completely whole.
And could You come in and do what only You can do — do the miraculous in this situation. Lord, I’m amazed by You. Amaze me once again. Astound the doctors. Make them speechless at the healing that will take place so that all they can say is that they have no idea, but that Joanne was given a miracle!!!
We adore You, Jesus. You are our everything! We lay ourselves at Your Mercy Seat. Meet us there, Precious Lord. We fall facedown before You.

Heavenly Father, you are powerful. I pray for my friend Joanne, Father, touch her with your powerful hand. Heal your servant. Father, I specifically pray that you would protect Joanne’s brain from swelling and bleeding, in Jesus’ name. I pray for all of the medical professionals who are tending to Joanne, move over them with your mighty power. Father, give each of them wisdom and knowledge beyond their capabilities, so that they can be their absolute best as they are taking care of our Joanne. Father, comfort and strengthen Toben, Audrey, Emma, and Joanne’s parents, and sister. Give them an extra portion today, that they would know your goodness, and your presence with them. Father, take care of their every need while they are sitting with Joanne. Send others to surround them, support them, and build them up. God, you are in control, and I trust you even when I don’t understand. I believe you have your daughter, and I pray that we will see a true miracle this day. In Jesus matchless, and holy name. Amen.

It is always a wonder to me when something tragic happens, and we see the Church your Body, Your beautiful bride come together to truly pray for the wholeness of one of our members…this has truly touched my heart! You are too good to us! You deserve all Praise and Honor and ALL the glory! I adore you Lord Jesus! We are lifting before You one sister and her family! Joanne,she is a treasure to us and even more to You! You are not surprised by this tragic situation even though we are ! It is greatly comforting to know that you love us and are working life and good in our midst! But we are boldly asking Your healing…COMPLETE healing in the life, mind and body of Joanne…Lord Jesus You are completely able! Work mightily in her today Lord! I neither know this woman or ever wrote to her or recall a posting she made on this site. Yet you know herfor you are her Creator. You are her Savior, You are her EVERYTHING!! You are the great and mighty physician so we as her siestas lift her up on eagles wings to you holy God. Take care of her and touch her in a mighty and powerful way. You know the very hairs on her head you are trustworthy and dependable to come to in this hour of need. Hold her Father and we pray for healing and strength for not only her but her family too.

Lord God, Just this afternoon I was talking to a friend about how we just don’t ever know how you will work things out for our good. We think we have such good ideas sometimes, but then You go and move or work in a direction we never even considered. You are awesome, Lord. I ask that You do the most amazing thing in Joanne’s body right now. Something we never even thought of. For You are God alone. And You can do more than we can ever ask or imagine!

I have been praying for Joanne all afternoon- I saw this terrible news on another blog. She has been such a blessing to me just through her blog and her wonderful books- I feel like I know her and so this was so hard to hear! Father- it is hard for me to understand when things like this happen, but I do trust that you will use it all for your great glory. I pray for healing for Joanne, peace for Tobin and her girls and family and most of all that you would be glorified. Please give her doctors and caregivers strength and wisdom. In Your Holy name Jesus.

We lift Joanne and Toby up to your Throne of Grace, Healing, and Love. Please continue to hold Joanne close to you, Father, and allow the healing to come quickly and completely. I know this was a surprise to this precious family, but it did not come as a surprise to You. I know that you are working things out in the supernatural that we clearly have no idea. Thank you for doing that for all of us. I thank you ahead of time, Gracious God, for the testimony and witness Joanne’s miraculous healing will be. Father, even baffle the doctors so Your name may be glorified and You can bring many to the saving grace of Jesus. Joanne already has the victory because of Jesus. Raise her from that sick mat and let her testify with her mouth that her faith has made her whole.

Dear Heavenly Father – I don’t know this woman, but you do. You know everything about her, thank you father for her and her life and her family.
