Talk To Me Tuesday: Topic 8!

My dear Siestas, talk to me today about miracles. I know some people who could use one. Take some stones of remembrance this day and be used of God to build up somebody’s faith. Ground rules: No exaggerations. No make believe. Just pure honest Biblical truth about what you know your God can do from first hand experience.

You guys are so dear to me.

Lord Jesus, show up in a mighty visitation this week in our community. You are our Hope and our Salvation. In You we place our trust. The very sign of that first Christmas was a miracle: “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel – which means, ‘God with us.'” O Come, O Come Immanuel. So many need to know You are here. Grant us eyes to see and hearts to love. You are our everything. Thank You for Your goodness to us.

Well, I will admit that I haven’t been on the lpm blog site for quite some time. Took a break to get my study life in order and figured I would log back in toward the end of the year because I want to be part of the 2011 Bible Verse Memorization Movement. Anywho – I logged on and scrolled down to this post and thought maybe my story will help someone who is on the edge and needs that extra boost to just believe.

I have Trigeminal Neuralgia which is known as the suicide disease because it is so hard to manage and the pain is so ultimate in it attacks. I was diagnoised in 2004 and the disease quickly became aggressive in nature and was hard to manage.

Finally in 2007 I decided I had had enough. I started doing my research on alternative methods to controling this disease without the grocery sack of medication that I was having to manage. I called the Mayo Clinic in Arizona as they had quite a few options for me that my husband and I thought we would prefer. Needless to say, I was put into the system and told that it would be about 18 months before they could even fit me into the schedule. I was devestated! That was April 2007.

I told my hubby the details of my call and he said we would have to pray for God to take care of me while we waited for the opening.

At the beginning of July 2007 I received a phone call from a scheduling staff member from the Mayo Clinic. She stated that it was highly unusualy for an opening to come up so quickly but one had and she wanted to know if I was interested in taking the appointment. I say YES!!! and was scheduled for prelim exams at the end of August 2007. I got off the phone and literally hit the floor praising Jesus for opening up this path for me! I was so excited. I just kept saying thank you Jesus over and over and over.

Well, on October 31, 2007, I had Microvascular decompression (MVD). This procedure involves relocating or removing blood vessels that are in contact with the trigeminal root.
During MVD, your doctor makes an incision behind the ear on the side of your pain. Then, through a small hole in your skull, part of your brain is lifted to expose the trigeminal nerve. Any artery in contact with the nerve root is directed away from the nerve, and the surgeon places a teflon pad between the nerve and the artery. If a vein is compressing the nerve, the surgeon typically will remove it.

I was so happy to be in that operating room that I praised Jesus’ name every chance I got. When I woke up from the surgery I was pain free and it was my miracle from God himself. Praise the Lord I have been pain free ever since and have been able to enjoy my family again in ways I had forgotten. Miracles still happen in this day and age and we just need to take time to realize that they are out there – open our hearts!

    God’s Blessings to all!
