Thanks so much, Beth, and hope your Mother’s Day is
wonderful! I had a “Beth Moore” Mother’s Day as my
sons and daughter-in-law gave me two of your books
and the Freedom cd. Just want you to know that you’re
my favorite Bible teacher. I love so many of you but
you’re definitely at the top. Thanks for being so real
and sharing your life and experiences.
Thank you Beth. Through tears I write. You are the only woman today that told me you loved me. Thank you for your Jesus love. You see, I’m leading or facilitating a small group of women. We are reading/loving (up to chapter 5) your So Long Insecurity Book. Today when I needed it most, I came across the scripture from Isaiah 46:4 in chapter 5, “Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when you hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you. I will carry you and save you.” Thank you so much. 2 years ago I was orphaned at 27 years old. You are right it is hard and God has shown me He is my mother and father. I’m a mother of the sweetest little tootin’est 3 yr old. Just Friday I decided to write in my blog about what the Lord has shown me this Mother’s Day. I’d be tickled pink if you would check it out. May your Mother’s Day be blessed and full of joy beyond measure! Thanks again from one mother to another.
Happy Mother’s day, Siesta Mama, Amanda, and all of you mothers here in Siestaville!
Happy Mother’s Day, Siesta Mama!! π We love you and are so blessed by your ministry. Thank you for your sweet Mother’s Day message today!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! Thank you Beth for your wonderful encouragment. I am sitting here getting ready to call my mother to wish her a happy day. I wish so much that my relationship with her was closer. I am blessed to have two beautiful children and I am learning from God’s Word and you how to foster closer relationships. I am an older mom with young children so still working hard on the basic human needs getting met. God Bless you, your beautiful daughters, and your ministry.
Shannon
I thought you guys would get a chuckle out of knowing that as I sat and watched my mama siesta tell me Happy Mothers Day, my youngest (9 months old) was sitting on my lap and she was waving and smiling at Beth. A future siesta in the making for sure!
Happy Mothers Day!
Courtney
Charleston, SC
When I watched the video, Jackson stood with me saying, “Bibby! I’m right here!”
Hey, Courtney! You’re great. I know what you mean. In fact, I am in a silly mood right now…so in the beginning of the video…I was shaking my head at the video…and talking to Beth, like it was just the two of us. (“You don’t say, Beth…ummm…yes, I know what you mean…uhhh”). My husband walked in and laughed. I, of course, kept quiet while she shared with us the poem. Didn’t want to interrupt her, you know. Hahahaha.
Have a great mother’s day.
Love, Susan “Evangelism Chick”
Thank you.
Just a few nights ago I read these very words from the “Things Pondered” book! Such a blessing. Thank you for always sharing your heart with us, Beth. Although we have never meet I feel like I have known you for so many years ~ and I have, because you make your self so transparent (in an AMAZING way!).
God bless you and Happy Mother’s Day to *ALL* the mothers!
Thanks! Words I needed to hear this very moment!
Thank you Beth, for your Word of encouragement on this day. As I see my sweet boys approach {gasp…} 15, I find myself longing to slow time. I look into the “rearview mirror” and think, “Why did I…?”, or “Why didn’t I…?” Does anyone ever think they did it “right”?
But, your encouragement today helps me to see what I have given them. I certainly haven’t been a perfect mom, but God doesn’t call me to that, praise Jesus! As we approach the thick of the teen years, I am reminded by you today what to continue to do – a sincere faith, and a deep and abiding love for the Lord Jesus with my whole self.
Happy Mother’s Day one and all, and especially to those who, on this day, grieve. For a mom they’ve lost, for a mom they never found, for a mom they aren’t speaking to, for a mom still living apart from Christ, or maybe for themselves, as they continue to pray for the chance to be a mom. Whatever your tender heart grieves, HE knows your name, HE knows your every thought, He sees each tear that falls, and HE hears you when you call.
“Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
-Jude 1:21
For all of the young moms! It is the greatest gift for our children to “rise up and call “us” blessed.” Both of my adult kids still tell me often…”Thanks mom for being real and authentic in your walk with the Lord.”
I honestly thought they would remember my weaknesses… especially as a former minister’s wife. Yet…they still say, “Mom, if it wasn’t for you…we would not know the Lord today.”
Young moms, it is worth traveling through life with the Lord even when your husband does not stand with you. Children are precious jewels given to us by the Lord.
Beth…the consistent prayer in my journals is “May Your strength be made perfect in my weakness.” I am blessed to see this being reflected in my two kids.
Thanks for the way you love…I personally needed to see it.
Beth,
Thank you so much for your message, but even more, for your mentoring of me. Eventhough we’ve never met face-to-face, you have mentored me via studies and conferences through many spiritual stages in my life. Now I find myself in the unique position of mentoring two women who are new Christians, but have grown children. Your words are so timely!! Thank you for listening to God’s prompting and sharing so openly with us!
We’re too close in age to call you Siesta Mama— maybe “Siesta Sista”?!!
In Him,
Patty
Beth!
I am 16 and dancing with Jesus until He lets the right man cut in, and when I do get married, I’m very much looking forward to babies of my own. While I am dancing with Jesus I am asking Him to make me into the woman, wife, and mother He wants me to be. He is answering my prayers by putting people like you in my life to teach me! I am excited to begin living this thing out with sincere faith and firey love for Him now, and for Him to teach me when I am a mom how to continue to live that out for my kids.
I love you very very very dearly, and was thrilled to steal a hug from you at the So Long, Insecurity simulcast after it was finished in Atlanta!
Thank you for sharing YOUR firey love for Him, with us, it makes me love Him more!
Chesney
I’ve not had the blessing Miss Beth and Amanda that you have, of having my own children. But I do dearly love to Mother Others. Today after church, a young man that I’ve loved for several years now, that is currently in the 8th grade came to tell me Happy Mother’s Day. In January, he called me as he was spending time at his grandparents over night, and working on a “Memory Book” that was part of a school project. He wanted me to know that he had added me to the family page, because of my investment into his life.
I sit here with tears of joy, that God saw fit to allow me, to be able to invest. This young man walked me to my car, opened my door as well as tucked me in and shut my door. He never fails to tell me that he loves me, as well as to give me a kiss on the cheek.
I just want to thank you for allowing me to share a blessing that I received today.
Happy Mothers Day,
With Love,
Yolanda
I love that!
Oh Yolanda! I LOVE that this young man has been so appreciative of your investment in his life! You know, sweet Friend, that I love you, too. I am so thankful that our paths were crossed by the threads that God has weaved into each our our tapestries of life. You just absolutely make my heart glad. Love you!
Beth:
Happy Mothers Day to you too!…This Mother’s day is bittersweet…you see I am loving that I have my daughter here, but my son is serving our country in Afghanistan. He is off on a mission somewhere where there are no phones, not internet, no communication with home at all. Oh how my mother’s arms long to give him a hug and here those sweet words…”sup momma?” But trusting God will hold my son when this mother can’t right now. Oh Lord… I love you so… it just hits home with me today…
Thank you for your kind words and loving wishes about Mothers day! Wishing you the best Mothers and Grand-mothers day ever.
Love you so much!
Lichelle
Thank you, Beth for those amazing words as I continue on this roller coaster ride called life. Happy Mother’s Day, Siestas!!!!!
I just became a grandmother this past Wednesday! I told my daughter that she gave me the best Mothers’ Day present ever.I can’t even tell you how much my precious Shepherd has totally impacted my life.
I raised my 2 girls as a single parent. I did my best to instill a Christ-like lifestyle and value system.I can tell you that was not an easy task, but God was faithful to give me the wisdom and love I needed.
I can assure you that I will be the godly, nurturing Mawmaw that God has called me to be. I’ve already told Shepherd several times that God loves him more than he can fully comprehend.I’ll never stop telling him that!
Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement. You are such an inspiration to us all. I pray that you and your family had a blessed day today.
Thank you sweet Beth! Happy Mother’s Day to you and I love you!
Through tear-filled eyes I thank you for the beautiful video post, Beth. It was wonderful and filled with your love…as always. Have a happy Mother’s Day!
Even though I don’t have children or grandchildren of my own, I know the awesome responsibility we all have to be real and keep the faith for the children we do encounter in our daily lives. I have so many “adopted” children of all ages that I have the privilege to minister to on a consistent basis, that I feel as if I have more youngins than I can handle some days.
And let’s not forget the ministry some of us have to our mothers that our still living. I gave my mother the SLI book for mothers day. If it affects her half as much as it has affected me then she is in for one big Holy Ghost revival deep down in her soul!
Thank you for this “gift” you have given us this day!
Much love!
Thank you, Sweet Beth, for your kindness and thoughtfulness. My little angel-boys have been one of the greatest (in power and love) tools God has used in my sanctification process.
Never know how selfish I was until I had children. Yet, never knew God’s love could be so intense and joyful.
Happy Mother’s Day to you, Beth and Sweet Amanda. Maybe we can wish Melissa a happy mother’s day next year??? Hahahaha!
Beth!
Just a quick request π I would LOVE it if you would post a blog about how you study God’s word. I recently attended your So long insecurity telecast and heard you speak about how about a year ago you decided to dive into this “topic” and came out the other side a year later a changed woman! I have had it on my heart to study a “topic” recently and would love some guidance on how best to go about diving into God’s word daily in pursuit of his truth about the subject.
I know so many women would benefit from this – I want to learn to study his word!
Thanks Beth – we love you!! -Cheryl
What a marvelous Mothers Day!! My son was with me in church today for the first time in 16 years! What a blessing and later I had the opportunity to tell him that the Lord was #1 in my life and how much I loved the Lord. Also how much I adored my son, God has brought him back to his momma–God is so good!! And Amen………….. π
This was so special to receive today! Thank you for taking the time to make the video and to encourage us as mommas! I am so thankful for the ways the Lord has used you in particular lately to remind me that He is my first Love and that while I may be tempted to find love (or recognition) in other places, He is the only One who satisfies. I hope your taping went well and that you have a most special Mother’s Day! You are loved!
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
I have had the best day today. This year, when my 2 boys asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day (ages 17 & 23), I told them I wanted something more than a card with their “Love, Aaron” or “Love, Matthew” on it. Oh, how they complained! Though I never said anything more that those words, they both interpreted it as a request for them to “write out their feelings”!! I think terror must have entered their hearts!
However, with pretense that they both forgot what day it was and no reminders from me, both my boys gave me a written letter of their thots. My 17 yr old wrote a long and very sweet poem. My 23 yr old? (I must preface this with saying that I’m counting down the days till he moves OUT! He’s on my last nerve!) He wrote the most precious note about how he knew that my one main goal of parenting was that he would never have to wonder whether I loved him or not. (A major issue with my own childhood.) Well, he clearly and lovingly told me that I had met my goal. And he assured me that he would one day treat his own children the same way.
Oh, thank you, Precious Jesus!! That I could relay the love you have for me onto my sons!! This was truly a sweet day.
Even my husband must have caught the idea… He wrote more than usual on his card, too!!! π
Oh Yay! Beth gave all of us a Mother’s Day gift of a video shout out! I’m so excited – but won’t be able to “unwrap” it until my Mother’s Day with my own sweet, busy kids is enjoyed. I’ll look forward to a yummy cup of coffee in the morning and having a “chit-chat” with Beth! I’m even going to pour you a cup of coffee (not that you’ll be here while I watch – but it will kind of feel like it with two cups of Morning Joe instead of just one)
You’re a blessing in my life and I so appreciate you (and you, too – Amanda and Melissa!)
Happy Mother’s Day to all The LPM ladies! Ya’ll make our lives so much richer by sharing of yourselves. And Beth, thanks so much for making the video for your blog-girls. I’m knee-deep in teen drama and it’s a daily struggle. Our 14 year old daughter has twice said this week said, when asked by her dad “What’s your problem?” my little darling answered “Mom!”. Yikes, talk about a blow to the heart and soul. We’ve had some battles lately and I’ve never prayed harder for her than the last few weeks. Thank you for reminding me to keep Jesus first, not the struggle. And thank you for being sincere with us.
BTW Beth, I tell everyone you’re my mentor! ;o)
Thank you so much, Beth for the great advice. Thank you for taking time out to speak to us. I love you like a sister/siesta (since I’m older than you) and appreciate all you do. I am so grateful to God to know you through your Bible studies, Simulcasts, and your blog. Your encouragement was perfectly timed for me this evening. Lots of love to you and your family. π
Thank you for that encouraging word Beth! Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Siesta Mama – What can I say, you have been a unique gift in my life. I have learned so much (so has my mom) We love you! Happy Mother’s Day, Happy Bibby Day! Happy awesome Bible Study siesta Day!
love,
Siesta OC <
PS: I gave my mom a ticket today for LPL in Irvine that I had bought at the end of January (they have long sinced sold out) She has never seen you in real-life, she is PUMPED!
haha Happy Bibby Day – I like that
Thank you so much for the video and poem. Life is definitely difficult some days being a stay at home Mom with 3-year-old twins and a 2-year-old who was recently diagnosed with autism. I am thankful for my children and my Christ-loving mother who taught me to put God first!
I know I have commented before and told you this, but I was never sure if you saw it. My mother’s name is Beth (she is 51) My name is Amanda (I am 28) My daughter’s name (she is 3) is Anna Beth…hers is spelled w/ two words. Small world huh?
Happy Mother’s Day Beth and Amanda!!
Amanda in TN.
Yes, I did see it! That is just wild! I love the names Amanda and Annabeth (either spelling) so much.
HA! Hi Pastor Doug!!!
Thought I’d give a shout out to my pastor- he must secretly read your blog because he preached on the EXACT same thing you talked about in the video! Having a sincere (real) faith and loving God.
I am a perfectionist who tries so hard not to be and parenting causes me so much pressure. I try so hard to be perfect for my kiddos (4 and 2 years old). Today, thank you Lord, I get it. All I have to do is have a sincere faith and love God. He, thankfully, will take care of the rest!
Thank you, Beth, for the message. Just drove the truth from my head to my heart. Lovin you!
I love you too.
Happy Mother’s Day I feel like one of your kids!! π I love you sooooo much sweet moma in Texas!!! π
Beth, thank you for reminding me that the greatest gift I can give to my kids is for them to see me loving God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. I’ve been overwhelmed with guilt lately because I feel like I fail all the time. I wake up with plans to make it a better day, but I seem to keep making the same mistakes over and over- mostly dealing with impatience and frustration over behaviors. I have a daughter who is a freshman and definitely has begun to show the “teenager” inside, but I do know that she loves Jesus, and I’m so thankful for that. My middle child, Jackson, who is 7, has autism and it’s been a strange thing to try to figure out how to transfer that love of Christ to him. Because of this confusion, I worry that I’m not getting it right, but I know deep down that Christ knows him just as he is, and just where he is. I honestly think he might just get to have those up-close-and-personal moments with Christ here on earth that many of us don’t get the chance to experience. And then I have my 5-year-old son, who I fear has suffered because our confusion over how to approach things with his brother. It’s kind of like we forgot how to do it all sometimes! I need prayer to figure it all out and to let Jesus lead my heart.
Thank you for reminding me what it’s all about. Happy Mother’s Day, Siesta Mama!
Beth, your words were like the balm of Gilead to me. Isn’t it funny how we start out with such high (and unrealistic) ideals and then God uses our own children to put us into the refiner’s fire until what is left is love and sincere faith? My life is so different now than I imagined it would be 22 years ago when I had my first child, as to almost be unrecognizable. Yet “He knows the way that I take.” Thank you for reminding me of its simplicity.
Bless you friend.
Kate
Awesome…thanks Beth!
This was a beautiful message. I am not a mother, I hope to be one day, but it still spoke to me aboutliving with sincere faith. How important that is for every area of our lives, and especially how powerful the word of God is to nurture and grow that faith in us. I have had something of a wake up call about that this week and am trying to let the word of God be “upon my heart” and not just in my head. Thank you Beth!
Hi Beth, Happy Mother’s Day to you. I just wanted to share with everyone a sweet little practice my husband Greg and I have done several times. We post scripture on the top of our doors throughout our house. Greg is really good at writing them on the ledge of the trim with Sharpie. God is always faithful to give us the right scripture that will be a protection over that particular room. It is a wonderful evening of blessing over our house. We also did it at our private practice and the door ways there. Every major threshold gets “Love the Lord your God with all your heart….” You probably already do this, but for those who don’t. It is an incredible time of blanketing your home with God’s word.
Love you all,
Kim Vest
Tears in my eyes. I SO needed to hear that message today. I am working full time and my husband and I are in ministry full time on a college campus in PA. My sweet almost 9 year old son needs a momma who not only serves the Lord and her family, but one who loves the Lord her God with all her heart, soul, mind and strength and loves her neighbor as herself. Thank you so much for taking the time to shoot the video and remind me. I love you too!
Thank you for the encouraging words. Life is difficult these days because I have teenagers at home. My husband and I are worn out. Thank you for the reminder to persevere.
Hang in there, Jan. You’re in the final quarter of the game. This is the phase where my husband reminds me that, “parenting is a team sport.” About the time I’m ready to choke one of the teens (usually only figuratively) my husband can “sub-in” for some relief. May our powerful God renew your strength today. You woke up, right? So He hasn’t fired you π I lift you up, dear siesta, in my prayers. Not b/c I’m doing it all right, but b/c failure is not fatal. Not for those of us in Christ!
Lord, please be with my sister today. The teenage years are upon her. Give her peace, joy and a sense of humor in all situations that arise with this particular age group.
Lord, please be with my sister today. The teenage years are upon her. Give her peace, joy and a sense of humor in all situations that arise with this particular age group.
you are such an encouragement, Ms Beth. Thank you.
my mum is still in hospital after 8 months. Please pray for miraculous healing and progress.
Thank you Beth. You are always such an inspiration to me! May the Lord bless you and keep you as you do His will.
Have a wonderful day!
What a sweet SWEET video. Thank you, Beth! Especially loved hearing “The Journal” again. At 64, 3 grown children, and 8 grandchildren, I KNOW how true that is!
Beth, I wanted to thank you again too for the simulcast teaching and tell you how the Lord is continuing to bless me through it. When I wrote on my blog about the simulcast, I listed your six points. Then, the Lord laid it on my heart to write a post each day around one of those points … not reiterating what you’d said, but sharing what that point meant to me. As I wrote about the last one “EXCEPTIONAL IN LIFE,” and the fact that we are exceptional BECAUSE of Jesus; God laid it on my heart to use that as a theme this whole month, writing daily about who we are in Christ. I thought, “Oh, yes Lord. Women need to be reminded who they are in Christ.” But each day as I’ve written, guess who needed to be reminded? Yep! ME! God’s so faithful to do that, isn’t He?
Just wanted you to know that He used the seed He planted through you during the simulcast to sprout a fresh work at a most timely moment! Love you dearly, my sweet anointed and appointed sister!!
Okay, tears are flowing from that poem!! God is so good to let us be mommy’s! Thanks so much for taking the time for the video. Your amazing and always in our prayers.
My 10 year old saw your poster in lifeway the other day. She said look Mommy it is Beth More your inspiration! Keep shining!!
A beautiful, beautiful poem–spoke to my heart π Thank you for sharing and for your obedience in Christ with the ministry He has laid upon your heart. He has used your words to speak to my heart in the beginning of my walk with Him (Bible Study-Believing in Him…tears poured) and continues to in this day. I am blessed π God bless you dear sister in Christ and a happy Mamas Day to you all!
Beth Moore…my sister in Jesus Christ I love you! Thank you!! I chuckle as I look at my journeys and each days ending is, “Lord, I love you so…I need you so…”
Thank you my friend for being our voice and most importantly, the voice of our Savior as He speaks through you.
Deborah
thank you Beth for the beautiful words of inspired poetry and the reminder to have a sincere faith and a passionate love for God…O I love HIM so…
Sweet Beth,
Thank you so much for bringing it all into a simple focus! To sincerely Love the Lord and have a burning desire for Him! This is such a needed Word for me! Nothing I can do about the past, so many things I worry about for my children. Been praying that God would make me the kind of mother they need me to be now that they are adults. Thank you for communicating the path to continually follow!!!! I can’t tell you how much this little video meant to me!!!
Much love & thankfulness to you for sharing your life & sweet family so openly! And for your outpouring of love over all of us! You are a great spiritual Mama!!!
I love you dearly too, Beth!
My daddy is a preacher so I’ve never not known about God and His love. I was born on a Sunday and in church the next and have been ever since. π
He is my life!
I appreciate so much the teaching I’ve learned from you on the joy of having a real – live relationship with God. I always prayed, read my Bible and gone to church etc. but when I started listening to you teach I thought “I want that kind of relationship with God. The kind Beth has!” I have been doing your studies for about 9 years now and attending conferences about that long too. THANK YOU for all you do. You bless me Beth Moore! I thank God for the tickets someone gave me years ago to a conference in Stillwater, OK. That’s all it took. π
Mother’s Day was extra special this year. My daughter is pregnant – due in October – and we are thrilled beyond expression. (this will be the first on both sides of the family) It’s exactly true what you said about that being on your mind constantly. She will find out the sex later this month. God is faithful and so good. Next year at this time I’ll be holding a little grand baby in my arms!
Loved the message and love the setting. I’m so happy you have such a great office.
It’s beautiful!
Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
Love you so much!
Valerie
