Thanks Beth for the mother’s day video. You have been such a help to me for years now and I have finally gotten my daughter interested. She used to conder herself agnostic since college, but now is going to church and joined a womens’s group and is going to your conference in Richamond Virginia. Thank you for all that you do and Happy Mother’s Day to you also. I love you very much and wish you all the best.

    Sweet Beth-

Thanks for reminding me that the greatest gift that I can give my daughters is to love the Lord! I needed those words as the cares of this world sometimes drags me away from my “first love.” May you enjoy your Mother’s Day with your precious family. May the Lord bless you as you continue to minister His love and truth to all of us!

Dear Beth I spent the weekend going through an old journal with my girls…how your words touched my heart! Now you know how much we adore you. And like it or not, you do set a standard in motherhood, one that you are quick to remind us is because of Him. I have to say that I think one of the greatest gifts you gave busy young (and not so young!) moms was in your hurried post while you were watching the grands. You posted that your bible had been in the car and you hadn’t had your quiet time in a couple of days. Glory! What an amazing gift that was to anyone with a house full! LOL!
It’s your transparency that blesses us and for that I am so grateful!
    Happy Mother’s day dear one!

Thank you Beth for that beautiful Mother’s Day message! My baby girl is in her 20’s and married, I tried my darnedest to be authentic with her. I also have a family day care in my home where I get to be with 6 sweet children ranging in ages from 10 months to 3 years. I know God has placed each child in my home for a reason and I thank Him for the joy, the frustration and the love that comes from “my Loves” (a nickname I have for them). God is also who I lean on when the day is long, I don’t know how anyone raises children without His love. Have a Wonderful Mother’s Day!

Listened to your message right after my quiet time. So amazing how our Father ties everything together. My quiet time was focused on Abraham and his faith. Seeking more and more sincere faith and love. Thank you and Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you Beth for being that older woman who teaches us younger women. I pray that more women would do that for us younger women, we so desperately need it! Perfect timing for a mom who has been crying out to the Lord for wisdom and instruction in raising my 3 young girls.

Beth, My adult son wrote me a letter that said “You taught me to fear God and trust His guidance, without that I would be worthless and empty.” My children’s faith has encouraged me in my walk with God. They have done things that I could never have imagined. They have done so much more, trusted more and believed more. Thanks for your encouragement, Beth. You are truly an incredible blessing in my life.

Thank you so very much, Beth. I, too, journal – for some 30 years. My children are grown and I have many grandchildren. Your poem undid me. I cried almost all the way through. I have often looked back and your summed it up so very beautifully. He has been there all along – I took His response to the cry of your heart as His response to me today. Yes, love grows over the years – for your loved ones here on this earth and for our God. This has been a fantastic “hug” from my God this morning! Thank you. Happy Mother’s Day Beth – and Amanda!

    Beth,

Thank-you so much for this video! It is such encouragement and a great reminder that our faith and our love are the greatest legacy we can leave our children.

My son, James, made me a home-made Mother’s Day card which read “I love you and have a great Happy St. Mother’s Day”. I laughed when I read it, gave him a hug, and asked him why he called it Saint Mother’s Day. He hugged me and said “…because moms are saints!” Such sweetness.

    Happy (Saint) Mother’s Day!

    Love and hugs,

I am experiencing constant change right now…our youngest graduated college yesterday and just left to catch a flight to Russia, our 2nd grandchild was born 12 days ago, our oldest is still living at home…there are really tough things going on in our life right now too, but through and in the midst of it all I still feel and know that I am SOOOOO blessed!! God is so very gracious and loving, and I want to make sure that I never forget to thank Him and to honor Him in all of it!

    Dearest Beth,

What a treat to have a little one on one “conversation” with you here this morning. As you spoke about love, I was reminded of what you challenged those of us in Laramie, WY last spring: to ask God to love him more each and every day for a year.

And while I haven’t been totally consistent with every day, that has been my prayer this past year, adapted from Psalm 27:4: “‘One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:’ to love you more, O God.”

    And how he answers!

Wishing you a wonderful mother’s day too!

    With love,

    Joanne

Oh Beth – such a wonderful tender message from you this Mother’s day morning. The sound of the Blue Jay in the background took me right to my Granny’s house…she was such a godly woman, a “shoutin’ Baptist” that use to embarrass me when I was young. How I’d love to sit with her in church this morning – I’d shout with her and thank her for all she taught me.

I had both my boys and their wives over for supper last night, along with grandson Zeke. It is the last time we will gather as “just the seven of us,” my husband and I and our sons and their wives…and little 21 month old Zeke.

Because…BOTH of my daughters-in-love are great with child, due just five days apart this month. Could I be more thankful this Mother’s Day now that I am Gran Jan? (Waiting to be a grandmother was the inspiration for my blog, Gran Jan’s Joy.)

Tomorrow afternoon, 5-10-10, we will welcome our granddaughter by scheduled cesarean. If she comes to your mind and heart, would you pray that all goes well? Miss Madie Ruth is on her way and I hardly wait to welcome her into our lives.

Then my little Jackson is due in less than 2 weeks, and he is going to be my baby boy’s baby boy…that is almost more than I can ponder right now.

Thank you for your sincere faith and heart of love for all of us. May you be greatly blessed this Mother’s Day 2010.

I esteem you highly my friend, thank you for this tender touch to my heart today. I’m just a bundle of emotion this morning and so thankful…

    Love,
    Gran Jan

Your words, especially “The Journal” are our story as a mother, as a woman in love with her God. Still stinging in my eyes, the tears tell me the holiness of the privilege to love, to do the hard thing in life (even when it seems inconsistent, trivial later.)

Happy Mother’s Day, sweet friend! You bless me.

Happy Mother’s Day, Beth. As a single mother of two children with heart defects, one of them being mentally/physically handicapped and totally dependent on me for her care and the other having a hefty dose of ADHD, life is sometimes overwhelming for this mom. But today (and everyday) I am just so blessed and greatful to have them in my life. I thank our GREAT GOD that he chose ME to be their mother! Thank you so much for your encouragement this morning.

    Kelly says:

Thank you sweet Beth! You have encouraged my heart more than you could ever know! My 3 boys are walking strong with the Lord, and I know it is only by His grace! He has covered over so many of my mistakes as a mom, and I do not take one day for granted, thanking Him for growing them up to be young men (teenagers!) who Love the Lord! My husband and I come from broken homes, with so many dysfunctions from both sides, that sometimes we banter back and forth on whose side is worse! (jokingingly of course!) My point is, we KNOW it is ONLY HIM that has enabled us to love our boys and point them to Jesus! I fail everyday as a mom, but He never fails them or me!
You, my dear spiritual mom, have blessed me again, and I wish you could know on this Mothers Day how loved you are!
I want those whose hearts are in longing or pain today to know that this woman’s heart is praying for comfort for you today!
    Love you Beth,
    Kelly

Happy Mother’s Day Beth, and Amanda:)

This day is tender to me, because I almost lost my mom last summer. She’s a tough lady, I put in my facebook status this morning that, ” What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.”- she taught me that, she is so very determined, and won’t let anyone hold her down from doing what she wants to do. I am pretty sure that rubbed off on me:)

I have to tell you I had a similar experience on this flipside to the story you had about ” Can you just love?”
it was a year ago when my mom was in the hospital, and I was at church asking God why her, and my family kept going through it, and God said to my heart, ” Because I first loved you.”

I love my mom, she doesn’t know Jesus yet, but she knows me, and I am no longer ashamed to show her daily. She rode with me back to FL yesterday, and I introduced her to Kirk Franklin, and then Kari Jobe. We’re getting there:)

and I also love all of my Titus 2 siestas out there:)
y’all know who you are, and how much you’ve blessed my life!

Happy Mother’s Day Beth! Thank you so much for the kind, loving and encouraging words that us moms need to hear. I pray you have a great day with your family. I too, think about all of our sisters who want to be mothers, I pray for them as well. I also been thinking about all the daughters who do not get along with their moms. I am very lucky. I love and enjoy being with my mom but I know their are some who might have seen their mom in a very long time. I pray for healing for them. I don’t know what I would do without mine. I also pray for all the daughters who have lost their moms, like my sister-in-law whose mom and dad died of cancer. I pray for her and the other daughters out there.

Dear Lord, you know the hearts and minds of all of us daughters and mothers, I pray that you give comfort to those who need it, that you give healing to those who need it and bring job to those tho need it and most of all, you bring love to all who need it, in your son’s precious name, Jesus, Amen.

    Happy Mother’s Day to all.

God Bless you and your Families.

    Dear Mama Beth:

Happy Mother’s Day to you. Thank you so much for your video. I wrote down in my journal the bible verses in which you shared. I write to God everyday and tell him that I love him so. I thank him for his beautiful sunrises and sunsets that he personally painted for me. I ask that I be a blessing to everyone I meet and that I be a light in this dark world and let it lead it straight to him. This is the first Mother’s Day without my mom. One thing gift that she passed onto me was sincere faith. I miss her most when I want to call her and tell her the latest thing going on in my life. My deepest want is that my children and grandchildren grow to sincerely love and cherish the Lord. I hope that my life reflects my love for him and it only grows stronger with each new generation. Be blessed today.
    Love You

Through the noise of my 5 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old and 8 month old I watched this video this morning, knowing it was the perfect Mother’s Day Gift from above! Thank you Beth for sharing what God put on your heart, as I listened to it, it felt like God saying, “Happy Mother’s Day Cory, I know it hasn’t been what you expected, I know it is crazy most of the time, I know you are running so fast you can barely catch your breath, but I LOVE you. Thanks for taking care of My precious children. I will give you the strength and love to make it through everyday, just like I have been over the last 5 years.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Sietsas. I am basking in the love of my Father today.

Thank you so much for your investment into us! Such a kindred spirit you are! πŸ™‚ What a wise word! Yes, so many many prayers that are prayed and yet what a profound and yet so simple way to start and end those long lists – O Lord help me to love you more! Not just for ourselves but it really is true more is ‘caught than taught’!
Motherhood has taught me so much about the Father’s love for I ‘being evil’ can love my girls with every fiber of my being and they occupy every thought and action – how much more does the Father love us and how we occupy His thoughts!
Thank you for taking the time for us to encourage us in such a good work! Happy Mother’s Day to someone encourages me more than you will ever know – just by being you!

    Beth-
Thank you for the sweet, tender, reminder of who we are in Christ and of the special gift of life we give. I have my mom near to me and for that I am thankful. I also have a 21 year old sweet, young man that I am so proud of. I did however, lose my 6 year old son several years ago so Mother’s Day, as thankful as I am, continues to be a struggle for me. It wasn’t until I met Christ 5 years ago that I could finally have peace in knowing my prescious son is in the arms of Jesus. What comfort I have found in this. Thank you again for your message. May God bless each and every one of you and Happy Mother’s day to all.

I also enjoy my young adult son that I am so proud of. However, as thankful as I am, I lost my six-year-old son several years ago so on Mother’s Day, I still seem to struggle a bit. It wasn’t until 5 years ago when I found Jesus that I could finally find peace, knowing he’s in the arms of Jesus. Firstly , Thank you Amanda for sharing those photo’s of precious Annabeth. I longed for a daughter but God, in His wisdom, blessed me with 3 sons! Guess He decided I was too messed up to mother a girl! But, thankfully I am experiencing some healing from that bad friend, Insecurity, & look forward to mothering some granddaughters some day.
Beth, thank you for your Mothers’ Day message. My day was almost over when I heard it (in rainy Cape Town, SA) but I was blessed none the less. I was also so touched by Erin’s prayer for sad mothers, echoed by you. My mother is one of those, my brother was killed in a cycling accident on 22 December so the pain is still raw & today was one of those “firsts”, (first Christmas, first birthday etc.).
I don’t want to be too long winded but I want to share how God is working in my life, using SLI & Esther. I have trusted God conditionally & as a result don’t trust Him anymore. Quite scary not to trust the Creator of the universe! So Chapter 17 & the session 4 DVD from Esther could’ve been written/produced for me. O the healing & the freeing – thank you God.
Keep teaching Beth. It is impacting lives!
Trust you & Amanda had a very happy Mothers’Day.

Happy Mother’s Day, Sweet Beth! Thank you for the tremendously encouraging message.
Our pastor’s sermon this morning was almost ditto what you said. Have Passion and be Genuine.
When mine were little bitty I heard some great advice:

“The best thing you can do for your kids is get along
    with their dad.”

    Almost. In Actuality:

“The best thing you can do for your kids is Love God.”

Thank you for the perfect reminder! May oodles of hugs make their way to you. Have a feeling they will.

May I send a word of God’s love to those who, for one reason or another, are having difficulty in their relationship with their mother. Or maybe it’s a mother with a child. You feel estranged. Forgotten, overlooked.
    Remember:
    “Though she may forget,
    I will not forget you!
    See, I have engraved you
on the palms of my hands;”
