If this happens to be the first time you’ve ever participated in this community, let us know! You are so welcome here. You are also under no pressure. This is strictly to enrich your sweet life, not to add one more interminable thing to your schedule. In the weeks to come, add a comment when you want. Otherwise, just enjoy perusing the insights and discussions of others as often as you like.
Today is roll call for our book discussion then this coming Thursday, February 11th, I’ll give your first reading assignment and post your first week’s questions. You’ll have all week to post your answers through a comment so don’t panic if you ordered a book and it hasn’t come yet. It won’t be hard to catch up. Again, if you don’t feel like you have anything to add that week, no big deal! The more we limit our answers to the questions that particularly resonate with us, the richer our commentary will be.
You guys are such a blast. I can’t wait to take this journey with you. You were such a huge inspiration that it’s fitting. To those of you who are joining us for the first time in order to participate in a “book club” experience, we are thrilled you are here. Jump in!
I’m crazy about you. Let’s dump a bad friend, Girls.

So there’s still hope for me? LOL I’m 29 and still not married.
Jennifer, he will come when you least expect him. Keep your confidence and security in Christ alone and He WILL give you the desires of your heart! I just got married, and I’m 28- was well worth the wait and honestly, I would SO recommend getting married later in life, vs young 20’s.

I’ve been reading along the study with you wonderful ladies, read the book the week it came out and have some time this week to devote to rereading, answering and working through the group study(because we just finished facilitating the new Breaking Free – can you say awesome?). Thought i’d try to finish before the seminar – I’ll be there Saturday, in a wheelchair, probably with my precious golden lab helper dog, Tahoe, in priority wheelchair seating. I’m probably sitting without a human companion – oh my, so long insecurity. Luv to Beth and LPM…

AWESOME – I am so moved by the simulcast today – goodbye to insecurity. Thank you Beth – you have such a gift. Bless you and your family.
Hello Beth,
My daughter Britny and I were priveleged to be able to attend the simulcast today. WHAT A BLESSING!! We considered it a miracle that Britny was able to attend. She is 25 years old, and has undergone her 42nd surgery, due to Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. Her health in the past 2 years has not been good. She prayed for several days before the simulcast that she would be able to attend. God answered her prayers and we had a wonderful “mother and daughter” day. She deals with insecurity on a daily basis, due to her being in a wheelchair, her paralysis, and her inability to function as her health continues to decrease. God has certainly given her so much grace. As a mother, it is miraculous to watch her, and see her heart for God. Just this past week, while undergoing painful tests in the hospital, she saw a gentleman come into the CT Scan room in a wheelchair. He had no limbs or body from below the stomach area, down. Her heart was broken, and she felt truely blessed with what God has given to her. She tries to use her handicap situations to reach out to others, and God has blessed her for it. I want to thank you Beth, for allowing the Lord to use your life, humbly, for His service. I am thankful that God has now allowed Britny’s life to be blessed through your service to HIM also. May God very richly bless your life and ministry as you touch the lives of women through HIS power.
Sincerely,
Carla and Britny

Married for 33 yrs to my best friend. I didn’t get to participate in the 24th. But finished the book late one night last week. BEST Beth Moore book yet!
I agree! Definitely Beth’s best book to date!
Hi, I’m Danielle. I’m from Albany, KY and I’m closing out the 20’s this year. ๐ I am married, and pray every day that I stay that way!
Forgot to mention that I attended the Simulcast yesterday, along with my 7 year-old daughter. We both just love Beth. My daughter enjoys watching the DVD’s that accompany Beth’s studies that I have done. Looking forward to seeing Beth in Lexington this coming August!
Count me in.
Good Morning Beth,
I once again had the privilidge to work at one of the simulcast sites and all I can say is WOW! We truly serve an awesome God!! This is a Word I’ve been needing to hear most of my life and I finally got it.
Thanks to your obedience in presenting this teaching, I have the opprotunity to help my almost 10 year old daughter be free from a life of insecurity that I have been imprisioned by most of my life.
I went to the simulcast on Saturday sick..but I was determined to go girlfriend as Beth would say. My friends were praying for me and I came and was blessed so much. Yes, I was running a slight fever but Satan was not keeping me away. There was a young lady sitting by my friend that came by herself..we are older sistas and we took this beautiful young women under our wing and got to know her at break and minister to her. What a blessing..I am reading the book “So long insecurity” and I say so long you’ve been a bad friend to me” Looking forward to what God is going to do in me and all 300.000 of us sistas..

Well I just started the book after seeing Beth at a Telecast on April 24th. Although I have a long time student of Beth Moore, it was the first time I saw her live.. and what a blessing. I am 44 years old, raised in a Pastor’s home and inherited a bunch of insecurities that no one, except for my husband even know I have. I am a speaker/teacher to Women in the Montreal area. I am an extrovert/ Sanquine. From the outside I seem to have unbelievable confidence and strength.. but on the inside I’m a people pleaser… So when I sat down to the first chapter I found myself highlighting so much that NO ONE on this earth will ever be able to borrow my copy of the book… that is how much it spoke deep into my heart! I keep reading and the more I read the more the truth of God is doing it’s work.
Thank you Beth for showing me through this book that Insecurity is a conquerable thing… Through the empowerment of the Spirit.. And I like you will keep hitting on those insecurities until they are beaten to death and gone.
blessing and honor to our Lord and Saviour, HE who after creating man and woman said: It is GOOD!!

Hello & greetings in Christ!
I purchased the book so long insecurity & would like to start a Bible study in my home, is the companion booklet “The promise of security” in Beth Moore’s web. store a good tool for a bible study?. If not, could you please let me know what I can use!
God Bless,
Elsy
Hi Elsy, the companion booklet contains lots of Scriptures. It’s not actually a workbook. If you’d like to take a Bible study group through the SLI book, you could use the discussion questions Beth gave us when we were doing our online discussion. I hope that helps!
Hello again,

My name is Rebecca. I am in my late 20’s. I am married and I live in TN. I just bought “So Long Insecurity.” It was at the suggestion of my husband who thought that I should read it. I have not been able to put the book down. I have to tell you that I have been praying through every chapter. It most definitely is a must read for every female. I also told my husband that I would write my confession on this blog page.
For years I have been so insecure about the size of my feet that I would stuff my size 11 feet into a size 10 shoe. After reading this book I was finally liberated and told my husband, of two years, that I am not in reality a size 10 shoe but that in all actuality I am a size 11. He felt so sorry for me that I was living a lie (no matter how small of funny it may be). So that day I finally, for the first time bought my first pair of size 11 shoes. AND MY FEET FEEL GREAT. I am free!
Thank you for allowing God to use you through this book!
warm regards,
Rebecca
Rebecca, this comment just made my day. It may be my favorite one ever. Praise God for this victory! You are precious!

Love the book! Have a friend who is challenging the City and State on what is legal for said stores in the mall to advertise those larger than life unclothed models. She has been asked by the City Manager to get signatures – any suggestions? This could also be nationwide.

Beth,
Ithank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this book! It has opened up my eyes to see how lovely God has made me to be! I am going to write Psalms 84:1 on my mirror so that I will always remember! Yes I do use a lot of exclamation points because I am so excited! I have three little girls that God has blessed me with and you better believe they are going to read it when they are ready. I also work in the high school ministry at our church and I am determined that I give every guru there a chance to read it! It has changed my life! I thank God for you Beth and I have never even met you! Your prayer in chapter 7 or 9 was so relevant I could not believe it! Thank you for being obedient to our most wonderful and amazing Lord!
Love,
Sarah
Hi Beth and all! I am a new blogging siesta this week, and I have a HAIR story for you! (haha!) I have done your studies for years, got to come to LPL in Tampa in April, but only now just got done reading the book SLI from the library. (Well, of course I’ve got to have my own copy for the prayers and Scripture!!) You have a knack of putting your finger on the elusive things we women feel and think, but can’t always verbalize well. I want to thank you for writing this book because for years I have worried and AGONIZED WAY too much about how my hair looked to others. So after reading the first few chapters, I decided to just CUT THAT OUT and start looking the way God made me…See, I was born with stick straight brown hair, but grew up in the “feathering” era, therefore always had to use curling irons and get a wavy or spiral perm. Now that I’m older and coloring, my hair has turned wavy, frizzy, and hard to manage, so I’ve been frustratingly trying to use a straightener still every day…BUT NO MORE!! Last week while reading SLI, I decided the heck with that, and grabbed some old “curling gel”– tosseled it, stuck a barrette in, and went!! It is cute, fast, and works great in the summer humidity. Best of all, I feel so FREED up by not having to care so much about my hair, and SO like doing what is more natural to “me”…Wish someone had thought to write this book sooner, but so glad God prompted you! (Figured if anyone could appreciate my hair insecurity story, it might be Siesta Mama!! haha)

Hello Siestas!
I am from central Florida, married, in my 20’s, and this is the first time I have participated in the online community.
I have been ministered to in profound ways by each one of the Beth Moore studies I have participated in. I just purchased my copy of the book today and was thrilled to get it home.I have struggled with insecurity my whole life and am very much looking forward to hearing what the Lord has to say to me on the subject. Beth, I am so grateful for your ministry. Love to the siestas and to Beth.

I’m slowly reading my way through this book trying to digest it all. Will end up reading it again I’m sure. My pastor’s wife told me of Wednesdays with Beth so I was looking to see what else you offered. Just found this blog! Was reading pages 221- 226 the other night and almost fell out of bed crying, seems like you were in my house 8 months ago when this happened to me. (The porn our mate has been in & we discover it.)Was left picking up the pieces of what I thought to be my “perfect marriage”.I know God has much to continue teaching us through this. I still fight the insecurity of other women when we’re out. Will this ever end?? Thanks for this book. Ruth
