James 1:12-15 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone, but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after sin has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. James 1:12-15 old NIV

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…
Thank You! Thank you, Beth, for posting this. My mouth dropped open when I saw the verse you were using. We laid my father-in-law to rest just over a week ago as well after a long battle with Alzheimer’s (he passed on the 20th) and the pastor who spoke used this verse as the topic of his message for the funeral service. He said he that as he was preparing the message, the Lord reminded him of it and that he’d never ever used it before during a funeral yet it was so fitting. I’ve been pondering on it ever since and your message here has just further encouraged me. I shared it with my husband as well.
Beth, please know I am praying for you and your entire family as you all walk and work your way through this loss. Prayers for my family, especially my mother-in-law who is hurting to her very core over losing her husband of 50 years, would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you.
