It’s Spiral Time, Sisters! Let’s Spiral Up!

Hey, you wonderful Siestas! GUESS WHAT I’M HOLDING IN MY HAND???

Need to see it closer up? Come on, now! Is this darling or what??

You ready to get busy on some Scripture memory in 2013? I AM! I AM! I can hardly wait! Our instructional post for our Siesta Scripture Memory Team (SSMT) will be published in mid December but, in order for most of you to have your spiral in your hands by the time we launch on January 1st, we need to start taking orders right away. Mind you, the official Siesta spirals are completely optional. You can easily pick up a generic spiral at any office supply or virtually any drug store chain. But having the same one is a ton of fun for those of us who like this kind thing! We use them all year to record our 2 verses a month then we bring them with us to the celebration in Houston in mid-January 2014 (egad!) as our ticket into the (free) event. And yes, any well-used Scripture memory spiral will serve the same purpose.

Our SSMT spirals are $4 each, plus a fairly nominal shipping and handling fee. You’ll see that on the order form. We try to keep the price as low as we can and still cover costs. To order your SSMT spiral, visit the LPM website by clicking here. Please, please try to make your order before or by December 19th for delivery by January 1st. For those of you who don’t get word about the spirals in time for January 1st, no worries. You’ll still sign in on all the posts like everyone else and just fill in your verses the moment you get yours. Even if you don’t make your order until January, you’ll have it in your sweet hands before you’ve had time to get to your 3rd verse out of 24. No big deal!

If for some reason you have problems with the link, go to:, then click on “Store” and under store click on “New Products”. It is the third to last item under “New Products”.

Here are a few questions I’m anticipating:

*Can I still get one of those cute spirals if I don’t necessarily want to sign up for the accountability twice a month on the blog team? Yes, you certainly may. You are welcome to use it for anything you want but we so hope you’ll write some Scriptures in it! That’s what it’s begging for. Smile.

*May I order more than one spiral? Yes. A number of you have already told me in advance that you’ve got daughters or sisters who are joining you this year on our Scripture memory team. You are welcome to order yours together if you live in the same town.I also like to use them for Christmas stocking stuffers for my daughters and special loves but shhhhhhh. I don’t want them to know.

I am beside myself! It is everything I can do not to go ahead and start writing verses in mine. Now, to find the perfect pen! Just think what awaits us on this page right here…

I love you guys so much. I am so blessed to journey with you in our pursuit of Christ. Nothing we’ve ever done on the blog has produced more fruit or seemed to incite more obvious favor from God than Siesta Scripture Memory Team. May it please Him more than ever in 2013!

I will be joining for the first time to participate in memorization with you all. I seem to fail in this part of my life. Beth, I love you comment about a new pen! Sometimes it is all about the pen! I love pens, if my husband gets one he knows I will like, he realizes he will soon have to give it up!

WooHoo!!! I’ve been waiting all year for this moment – no kidding! 2011 was my first time to participate. I actually ordered TWO spirals last year. This year, I’ve been working on memorizing James, and that 2nd spiral is home to the entire 5 chapters! It stays in my car and on my once-a-week road trip (2 1/2 hours) to visit my mother-in-law, I spend nearly the entire time in the car working on Scripture memory. I am working on Chapter 5 now and hope to have it completed by the end of the year.

Beth, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for challenging us to memorize Scripture. It is life-saving AND life-changing!

I want a spiral pad but I am in Nigeria πŸ™ Not sure it’ll make a lot of sense ordering that and shipping it down here. It’ll cost more than the spiral pad itself (lol) so I’ll just find one to buy in these streets πŸ™‚

Thanks Beth to you and all you do for sisters in Christ – you are a true inspiration.

May you and your family have a very blessed Christmas!

To all sisters too…May God through our Lord bless you and keep you and your families in the true Holy Spirit of Christmas!

Is this the Valerie I met through LPM Blog and began conversing with in 2007-2008? Met you at the Siesta Fiesta… I’m so stinkin’ out of touch. πŸ™‚

      • valerie says:

Yes, Michelle…’s me! I don’t have a blog now, but will always be so thankful & grateful for those precious friends I met through blogging. (all because of this blog!!) You are one of them & I’ve missed you. Are you on Facebook? It’s a long ways off, but I plan to attend the SSMT in Jan. ’14. It’s been such a blessing the past two times. Take care!

    Dee Dee says:

I am so excited because I seem to do better when we all memorize together. 2013 will be my 50th birthday and I would love to commemorate it by going to the Siesta celebration. Won’t get my hopes up but praying God works it out for me to go! This is the first year I ordered the index cards-so cute!

  28. 78
    Robin says:

A few too many questions: I joined late (actually a year ago) and I am still trying to learn what this Siestas program is. Is there a place to read about all that it entails? I see it has scripture memory, that is good but does it have anything else? (S.M. is enough I was just asking). And do these sweet memory books have verses in them or is it up to each gal to choose them and write them in. Is everyone doing the same verses? Then tell me about the January gathering in Houston. I am from Minnesota so getting warm in January is very appealing to me. THANKS.

    • 78.1
      Lindsee says:

Hey Robin! A “Siesta” is simply what we call our blog readers. If you look on the right side of the blog, there is a tab that says “What’s a Siesta?” and it explains very shortly what this blog community is. As far as the scripture memory goes, we’ll post a blog on the 1st and 15th of every month, and you comment and let us know what verse you’ll be memorizing, then you write that one in your spiral. Consider the blog your accountability partner! It’s as easy as that. Be looking for a more detailed blog post towards the middle of December. You are so welcome here!

  29. 79
    Hannah K. says:

I’m so excited! I did this last time, but this is the first time of ordering the spiral. So looking forward to growing more this year!

By the way, will you be coming out with an iPod/iPad/iPhone app as well? Just chronically curious. πŸ™‚

And sweet LINDSEE took me and the “Georgia Four,” all around and was a super Texas Hostess! I remember a great cupcake place and just the sheer JOY of that fellowship.

And now she’s serving LPM. God be praised!

      • Lindsee says:

GJ, it too was one of my favorite memories. You ladies were a blast! And we went to Crave cupcakes. I remember it all like it was yesterday. Much love!

    Diana says:

Can’t wait! Just ordered my spiral. I need the accountability of the Siestas to keep me focused with my Bible verse memorization. Even tho we may be miles apart and not know each other I don’t want to let my Siestas down. I’ll be telling all my Beth Moore buddies to join us too!

Okay, I’m going to try again. I think I got to April last time I did this. I’ve let having a toddler running around distract me. Maybe I can come up with a way to practice while I’m chasing my lovable munchkin that also wakes his precious mind up to Scripture!

Where’s the ‘like’ button in this blog?!

I so loved doing this in 2011 and missed it so much this year. I am anxiously awaiting the new year because of scripture memorization in Seistaville! I already feel giddy about coming to Houston again – YaYa Mary’s or Maria – whatever the Greek place is and the super chocolatey milkshake… Oh my memory fails me… I came solo last time, but this time I’m starting out with a group of about 10 women; I pray we all make it through.

I still go through my scriptures from 2011 and they are forever in my heart!
I cannot thank you enough for encouraging us to memorize! Love and hugs to you all!

WOOT WOOT !!!! I’m so excited!!! I just can’t hide it :o) So happy to do this journey again. I did it for the first time 2 years ago. It was a hard year in my life but those scriptures in my heart made the difference!
It is alive and life changing!!!

Thank you and may God bless you greatly!!!

(I am changing my email soon will that effect my verse accoutability.. one email for a couple of months then it will change?? I don’t know if that makes sense LOL )

  49. 99
    Rosa says:

I am so excited to start and the spirals are super-cute! I am nearly finished memorizing James and I can’t tell you how many times the words of James come to the forefront of my mind. The memory work is sooooo worth the effort!

I was just thinking it was about time and here you are with them…. SO fun… I had read a verse this morning and thinking that would be a good memory verse. πŸ™‚
This so helps me to DO this.
