Just So You Know Where the Mama Is

Hey, Darling Things!

I am packing up an overseas suitcase to board a long flight to Sydney tomorrow evening and I just want you to know where your blog mama will be all this time. I’ll be in Australia for two weeks and that is substantially longer than I’m ordinarily away so I thought you might need a heads up. I have the privilege of serving alongside my beloved Priscilla Shirer at the Hillsong Colour Conference for two weekends in a row. (The conference repeats a second weekend for another group of women.) It feels so good to put my head together and plan messages and themes with Priscilla again. We got in that habit with the Deeper Still events and I’ve missed it! Not only does she inspire me. She also gets me tickled. We will also serve with a panel of other speakers that I’ve not had the privilege to meet yet. Priscilla has been several times so she’s a veteran and will teach me the ropes. I am looking so forward to Colour and to gazing upon all those gorgeous faces, alight with the Spirit of Christ. I can hardly believe the trip is finally upon us. Amanda is going with me and we ferociously wanted Melissa to go, too, but she was unable to swing a week of it and was afraid the one week she had would be almost wasted amid the long flights and jet lag. We will miss her like nobody’s business.

Here’s a picture of the brochure and also the Queen who is staring at me 24/7 because she’s caught onto the fact that I’m about to skip town. I would give anything to take her. We have never been apart this long. Don’t you think they’d be blessed by my darling little Dingo?

I still hope to check in with you here and there in a couple of brief posts over the next two weeks but the best way I can probably keep up with you is on Twitter. For those of you who haven’t joined us there yet, our Twitter address is @Siestaville and we have tons of fun on there at times like these when a blog post is harder to make happen. You’ll hear from our Lindsee a number of times in the next two weeks (watch for some fun giveaways!) and Gay’s final supplement will also appear on the blog while I’m gone. I know you’ll be rocked by that. Her contributions over these last couple of months have been priceless.

I will miss you so much but will try to keep up. I am serious when I say that I think of you every single day and you are always on my heart. Hold tight to Jesus and stay in the Word. Please pray us there and pray us home and pray safety and joy and lack of negative drama (I love positive drama) on our family members as we all scatter for two weeks. Curtis will head to Missouri with the children to see his family for Spring Break while we’re gone. He’s a brave man indeed! And please, please pray for the Lord Jesus Christ to fall with enormous power and fiery affection on us at the Colour conferences. We want Him so badly.

When I get back, we’ll start planning Siesta Summer Bible Study. Oh, yes, ma’am, we are having it. We have active blog days ahead! You are so loved here, ladies. So very loved here.

Keep walking the thing out. Jesus is worthy of it.

May the Spirit of God go before you to prepare the way, be with you to empower, unite, and protect, and behind you to bring forth much fruit from the work our God has appointed for you. May the Lord watch over all your family and Priscilla’s during this period of separation. May He bless your socks off and fill your service with great joy.

Mama Beth, on a personal note I’d like to thank you for the devotional on affliction. It encouraged me so much, and the link has gone out to more than one friend in a season of trial. The Lord matched your words to at least one hungry heart’s need.

Grace to you and yours in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ahh… Dear Beth, I love you so! I (as always) wish I could go and join in with the wonder of the Lord together with you and Priscilla and all of the other (whoever-they-are) speakers! There’s nothing like fired-up vessels on fire for their Lord and proclaiming His GOoDness and Glory! Thanks so much for keeping your face in His Word and for continually filling up to spill all that our Savior has said! God has used you in such a power-FULL way to so many. I for one, because of that very thing, am most thankful! Y’all have a blast! And my prayers will be with you and with them and with all of the listeners!

    Hey Siesta Mama!
Thanks for the heads up on where you’ll be. Will be thinking of you and praying for you every day. We will miss you too. I am so excited to hear about the bible study! I was thinking the last couple of days how doing a bible study makes my quiet times in the morning’s so much richer and was going to go the store this week to get one, but now I’ll just wait to see which one our beloved Siesta community is doing. Can’t wait! Praying for a safe and blessed travel down under!

    Siesta Mama,
I will be praying for you for everything listed in your post as well as for you to have fun ‘Down Under’. I just know that Jesus is going to rock the house there and I am so happy you get to have some visiting time with Miss Priscilla. You have blessed me so much, since SSMT this year, I got to say all 24 of my verses and get your gift of ‘Fulfilling Your Ministry’. I am just about to venture into ministry at my church, CCV. I have been accepted to teach a small women’s group and the first study we are going to do is… Discerning the Voice of God How to Recognize When God Speaks. Written by none other than Miss Priscilla Shirer. I was going to do the study on my own, but now it is going to be even more fun, to do the study with a group of ladies. I also have a praise, my friend Becky was diagnosed with Lymphoma last year, she just had her 6 month Petscan and it came back CLEAR. I’m gonna be bragging about our Lord and his mercy to everyone, until I am blue in the face. πŸ™‚ I just love our Savior. Plus, I am still memorizing scripture. Just one a month this year, good habit to keep. I will enlist my husband to let me recite them to him, next year. Praying a circle of angels around you and Amanda and Curtis and the kids.

    Patti Hayes says:

Guess what, ladies, I’M HAVING A GRANDDAUGHTER! You need only to look at my very common last name to realize why I’m shouting. I just wanted to share our happy news with Siestaville as I’m about to bust with the excitement of it all. As it is, I have been virtually squealing with delight every time I think about it, and I have no idea how I’m going to be able to wait til the middle of August when our baby Sarah is due to arrive. Since we found out, I’ve been able to write her name in my prayer journal, and just seeing it typed on the screen in front of me is about to make me cry. My grandson, Nathanael, is already 6 months old, and grandparenting is everything and more than I’ve ever been told. I may have gotten a few things right as a mom, but I was born to be a grandmother – I’m loving every minute of it. Thanks for listening, girls. I hope your Lord’s day is blessed. Beth and Amanda, I’m praying for both of you and your families, especially while you’re apart these next two weeks.
    Much love,
    Patti Hayes

Blessings on your trip and may your messages for those amazing Aussie’s be as powerful as they are for us here stateside!
