Siestas! We are less than two weeks away from our Siesta Scripture Memory Team Celebration! In case you realized how much of a mouth full that is, that is why we lovingly refer to it as the SSMTC around here. Grin.
With Christmas, New Years and Passion 2012 behind us, we are looking very forward to the celebration, especially because of how quick it will land on us. Sometime during the next week be looking for a fun FAQ post about the weather, food and all things regarding Houston, but until then, we want to hear from you.
We are anxious to know who completed the scripture memory challenge on this blog EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING TO COME TO THE CELEBRATION. That just means that you have your spiral filled with 20-24 scriptures, posted your verses on the blog, and have hidden the Word in your heart, we want to know who you are.
If this applies to you (and you completed the commitment), we’d love for you to comment and tell us three things:

3) Are you coming to the celebration? Yes or No. (Because we want to acknowledge and celebrate you either way!)
Remember, this is for anyone who completed the 2011 scripture memory challenge! When we say there is NO condemnation for those who didn’t finish please hear us loud and clear: there is no condemnation or guilt! We just love a good party here at LPM and want to celebrate with you.
So, even if you have no plans to come to the celebration, but have completed your memory work, let us hear from you!

I will be in Guatemala on a mission trip and will not be able to be at the celebration in person, but will be celebrating with you in my heart!
What a blessing hiding the word in my heart has been this year! It has given me strength, peace and joy. The ready recollection of His Word at so many times has been a light and compass. And what a year – a daughter married, new granddaughter,and loss of my sweet dog of 14 years. God is good, from whom comes every good and perfect gift, praising Him that He “never changes or casts a shifting shadow!”

Yes, my book is full ~ my heart too but my brain, well some of my verses are stuck there and some need my spiral or Bible for prompting. I’m too far away to make it this year ~ God willing, there will be another one, if the Lord doesn’t return before then and I won’t be living in a foreign country 🙂 Have so much fun together, I’ll be with you in prayer and thought!!!!!!!!

I did complete all 24 entries on the blog. God has totally blessed me with the memorizing of most of the verses. These verses and the SSMT blog have brought me through a year of many emotional ups and downs with “God’s Hope” shining through. The sustaining power of God’s word is amazing. Seeing how God uses each of us as vessels to spread His Word is such a JOY!!

The Siesta Scripture Memory exercise for 2011 was totally fantastic. I have loved hiding Gods Word in my heart and mind and even more having it to use a moments notice in prayer or in conversation. This has meant so much to my life I am continuing on in 2012, memorizing another 24 to add to the first 24! 🙂 Thank you Beth for the inspiration.

It was really helpful, accountability-wise, to have a specific date to aim for when memorizing, and others doing the same. I was going to keep going in 2012 on my own, but so far I haven’t… 🙁 When are we all going to start again?!

Two years ago when I wasn’t able to attend, the Lord sent Beth to Toronto for a Living Proof event – pretty special!!!! Yes, I did memorize my 24 scriptures – such a wonderful blessing.
