Siestas! We are less than two weeks away from our Siesta Scripture Memory Team Celebration! In case you realized how much of a mouth full that is, that is why we lovingly refer to it as the SSMTC around here. Grin.
With Christmas, New Years and Passion 2012 behind us, we are looking very forward to the celebration, especially because of how quick it will land on us. Sometime during the next week be looking for a fun FAQ post about the weather, food and all things regarding Houston, but until then, we want to hear from you.
We are anxious to know who completed the scripture memory challenge on this blog EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING TO COME TO THE CELEBRATION. That just means that you have your spiral filled with 20-24 scriptures, posted your verses on the blog, and have hidden the Word in your heart, we want to know who you are.
If this applies to you (and you completed the commitment), weβd love for you to comment and tell us three things:
1) Name:
2) City:
3) Are you coming to the celebration? Yes or No. (Because we want to acknowledge and celebrate you either way!)
Remember, this is for anyone who completed the 2011 scripture memory challenge! When we say there is NO condemnation for those who didnβt finish please hear us loud and clear: there is no condemnation or guilt! We just love a good party here at LPM and want to celebrate with you.
So, even if you have no plans to come to the celebration, but have completed your memory work, let us hear from you!
We love yβall dearly. T-minus 11 days. We cannot wait!
P.S. Some of you have been looking for the SSMT FAQ page, here is the link to help you out.

Rachel, Surprise, AZ
I so appreciated the ability to learn these verses this past year, and my husband and I were saving in the hopes that I’d be able to fly out to Houston and attend. But, unfortunately, after some health scares, major medical bills, and a few other problems, I had to accept that we just can’t afford for me to spend that kind of money to travel. So, with a very heavy heart, no, I will not be attending.
Rachel,
I know you might find this odd but I feel a prompting by the Holy Spirit to ask you if the airfair only is the reason that you cannot attend? I would like to help out if I can? Can we talk?? I’m not on facebook but maybe we could arrange numbers through LPM??? Just a thought π
Michelle

I did the SSMT memory work in 2011 and posted all year (except December 1) but I am not coming to the celebration. Of course I wish I was! Hope you all have a great time and are especially blessed for this new year coming up. (And we who can’t come as well!) I am so thankful for this experience, hope to continue with at least one verse a month, and look forward to participating again next year. Thanks!
But…if anyone is driving from my area I could go and split gas and hotel. If anyone sees this and is actually driving from PA, NJ, MD, or NJ, let me know!

Will not be able to attend but, will be there in my heart!
Dear Siestas,
I had so hoped to be able to be with ya’all and put faces to the clever names on the blog, but circumstances will not allow me to travel to Houston from So. Cal. at this time. I love Siestaville, and it brings a smile to my face when I consider how much I have gleaned from this blog community and most especially “Momma Beth” of whom I am 10 years her senior, so I do say “Momma” tongue-in-cheek! But she is indeed our spiritual mother, and we are all blessed by the powerful anointing she lives in, moves in, breathes in and shares with us all. Just know I’ll be praying for you all as you have a glorious time of sharing all the verses we have applied unto our hearts by faith. My job was to memorize Psalms 139. I must admit, I have not totally mastered the verses in sinc and am doing another round on Psalms 139 this year! It’s just like me to circle the mountain a few times…but I will “get it!” Victory is sure, saith the LORD!
Love to you and enjoy the SSMT Celebration,
“Siesta” Pam H.

Thanks for the motivation to learn God’s Word!
Heather, There isn’t going to be an “official” SSMT for 2012, but we are encouraged to continue on our own. There will be a Siesta Summer Bible Study to look forward to, and God willing, a SSMT for 2013.

No, not this time. I still treasure my time at the 2010 SSMTC. It was a once in a lifetime experience (wishing it could be a twice in a lifetime one!)
And if any siesta is still on the fence about going…just do it! You won’t regret it if you do and you will regret it if you don’t! Love and prayers to all!
Kelli,
There’s a siesta in Arcanum, Ohio who is wanting to plan a gathering of siestas who can’t make it to Houston. You might check out her post a little ways above your post. Her name is Heather.
