Hey, Any of You Wanna Meet Live This Afternoon?? How about 2:00 CST? (WE MET!)

Update: THAT WAS SUCH A BLAST, SIESTAS!!!! YOU ARE THE MOST FUN!!! After we went off line, I ran downstairs into Sabrina’s office and we watched you guys chat with one another for the next little while. We laughed and laughed. God made you the biggest blessing to us today! We will do it again very soon and will let you know a little bit earlier. Next time we’re going to do an emphasis on our prayer lives and some approaches to intercession that maybe we’ll find helpful as we start this new year. Lindsee snapped this picture a few minutes ago of us watching you. YOU ARE SO LOVED HERE!

The following is the original message which is obsolete now but at least you’ll know how it went down. Join us next time!!!

I woke up with you guys on my mind this morning and was so in the mood to talk to you. At first I thought I’d just get to work and write a post then it occurred to me that we’ve been working on a MUCH better way to communicate. I shot Sabrina a quick text saying something like, “Any chance we could give that live stream a test run this afternoon?” She responded with a big fat YES and we were on like Donkey Kong.

SO, how about it? I know it’s a work day and that many of you will be unable to drop what you’re doing and climb on with us but at 2:00 Central Standard Time this afternoon, I’m going to hop on live stream for about a half an hour max and talk to any of you who can participate. I don’t have some imperative announcement to make or profound lesson to give. Just an impromptu (real time) hello. The kind that I hope we’ll be able to do fairly frequently in the months to come. This is for anybody. No one’s left out. Except boys. Laughing. It won’t be all centered on the SSMT celebration coming up. It’s just a general shout out to all of you Siestas.

Here’s all you do! It’s so easy. A few minutes before 2:00 CST, just click this link

(You will see that the live stream link gives the Eastern Standard Time – 3:00 PM. That is 2:00 CST.)

Participation is free of charge and the instructions on the link will tell you how to get on and chat if you want to. You don’t have to chat in order to view it, of course. Now, mind you, I’m not sure how much actual chatting is possible in those few minutes when you consider the fairly large population of Siestaville but at least we’ll be together in real time! AND I would get to know that many of you were on and participating!

I can’t wait! If anything breaks down and we’re unable to do it, I’ll let you know immediately on Twitter and as soon as possible here on the blog. I know a lot of us are reluctant to add one more form of social media to our over-extended lives but, if you can stand it, the best way to keep up with Siestaville (when we want to connect but can’t get to a blog post) is on Twitter @Siestaville. We have so much fun on there and we don’t have to keep explaining over and over again why we refer to one another as Siestas. Grin.

You girls are a priority around here. I’m so thankful for you! I love all of you and will talk to some of you at 2:00. Meet with us, Jesus!

I am at home sick today, so it was such a blessing to see this today! Thank you Beth so much for praying over us. Also you made this girl laugh, and she so needed it!!! Love you dear sister…

That was so great. I’ve got a sink full of dirty dishes, a pile of laundry and a kid home with pink eye. I needed a little cyberlove today.

Just amazing grace…the LORD spoke to me around 12:10 PST to get on at Siestaville, and lo and behold I caught your first live-streaming broadcast. It was a joy to be a part of the spiritual community that is “Siestaville” in real time and enjoy Beth live, and most importantly have the opportunity to commune in prayer before our One and Only! I give Him all the praise and glory for this sweet time of refreshing and recognized so many names from the blog as they communicated back and forth. I’m afraid I’m not a techie and didn’t know how to be a literal part, but believe me, I was hooked in by the Spirit and that was a joy unspeakable and full of glory. Watch out what the LORD will do for us who believe in outrageous faith in the year 2012. It’s time to rise and shine for Him! God bless you Beth for your awesome spiritual leadership and stretching us all for great and mighty things that we know not of.

I think I’m kind of in “Siesta-shock”!!! I have been following this blog and community for a good while, but just recently started commenting and responding to people. I’m a fairly private person … so it took me a while. Grin. It IS amazing isn’t it??? That we are able to connect, love each other and grow deeper with Jesus together? I’m just stunned. Really.

  18. 68

Just wanted to say thank you for doing this. I had a blast! I’ve been out of the loop for well, almost 14 months; but with Passion and this, I feel like I’m back! So thankful for this community. Love you much!

    5. Repeat

SOMEONE JUST TOLD ME THAT YOU SAID YOU HAD NEVER HAD AN IOTA OF COLOR ON YOUR HAIR. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? AND I TRUSTED YOU WITH MY CELL NUMBER. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

      • G.J. says:

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! You are cracking me up! I don’t know why my hair isn’t turning gray. I just know a woman chased me down at the mall during Christmas begging me to “tell her the color name.” I told her I didn’t have one – it was natural. And she said, “BUT YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW ME, I PROMISE I WON’T TELL ANYONE!” So as I was walking away I came up with a name should that happen again, “Midnight Mocha Delight.” Is that a good one?

        I love you friend!

And you know you can trust me – always – even with your cell number! But your Christmas present is still in my dining room…awaiting your NEW address!!!

        G.J.

        • Only in Siestaville can the conversation turn to hair-coloring! It’s so on we women’s hearts! Color vs. not-coloring. I’m determined to write an article on it!! This was a blast. We loved hearing Beth and loved being greeted by Ms. Georgia Jan!

Love, this dirty-blond turning dirty gray!

        • sepik-meri katie says:

OMGosh you guys stop it!!! LOL!!! gj, love your hair color name -perfect. gotta have a safety answer before you get tackled in the mall!!

      • NikkiPoppins says:

These two comments may be some of my most favorites! LOL!! I busted out laughing at work and got some funny looks here at the bank!

        I love you both!

I missed it live but got to watch it after it was all finished, so that was cool. Thanks so much for the blessings! You are so loved!

I’m doing the James study. Listen, I am notoriously famous for butchering quotes so I was nervous about wanting to memorize James. My son heard me recite the entire first chapter word perfect and he nows knows the power of God’s Word. Is that awesome, or what??

I missed the live webcast but was able to watch it just now. A million thanks. I needed some encouragement today in a major way. Just visiting together via webcast was so refreshing (even if I missed the live version). I still enjoyed it so much…so uplifting.

I look forward to when you do this again!
I appreciate your ministry to women like me.

Oh, I am SO SORRY I missed this. I had been checking on the blog periodically and by 1:00 today, I decided there probably wasn’t going to be a new post, so I took off for the grocery store. Hoping I’ll make it next time. Sounds like so much fun!

Totally missed seeing it live but did watch the recording. Loved it!

Liked hearing all the Bible Studies ladies are starting this Spring and am now looking forward to the summer one here in Siestaville.

I need a Bible study this spring I can do myself since kids extracurricular activites are now on my normal Bible Study nights. Although doing one by myself will be a challenge because I tend to need accountability. I did receive your 90 days with Paul book but haven’t looked through it enough to see if it works as a Bible Study or more of a devotional.

Looking forward to checking in a couple weeks for the next Live Chat

So sorry I missed this! I’m at work and it was crazy busy today so no chance to connect with you. I’ll be watching for the next one:-) I’m sure it was a blast!!

Got home and saw that this had already occurred (: Listened to it none the less. My head is still swimming from streaming Passion 201 all this week. Only one I missed was yours Beth. I was at the gym and my daughter texted me to say you were “live”… She was so anxious to hear you live because she hears you constantly at home. Looking forward to being a part of the next live stream. Anxiously awaiting the SSMT Celebration. I am so excited I feel as though I could run a 5K(not able to run with my knees)!!!!!

This was so much fun to watch this morning. I happened to pull this up on my phone in the doctor’s office yesterday and was sad that I had to miss it! Looking forward to the next one. Really looking forward to you Beth sharing on prayer this upcoming year. I bought myself a new journal for the new year (this is a new practice for me) and felt a little down that I just couldn’t get organized in regard to my prayers. So very excited to learn from you and other sisters.

I also would like to ask anyone who reads this and feels led to do so to pray for my daughter. I was with her in the doctor’s office yesterday. Long story short, she has a breast lump that needs further examination by mammogram and ultrasound. They seem to think it’s probably just a cysts, but not worth taking a wait and see approach. She’s nervous and not looking forward to the procedure and she starts spring semester of nursing classes next week so there is a lot on her plate. As mom, I’m just plain nervous, YET, trusting Jesus.

    Thank you so much sisters!

    Joyce says:

I couldn’t participate live because of work but I just watched offline and I praise God for the opportunities that we have at this time. Don’t you just love the technology.
My group is just finishing up Kay Arthur’s “Lord, I Want to Know You” on the Names of God. It’s been a very good study for our group of 11. In February we are starting “James, Mercy Triumphs” and I can’t wait. I’ve just started previewing the DVDs for our group and making verse sheets that list all of the verses that Beth uses for each study so the women have all of the verses before them.

I am so encouraged by the memorization in 2011 and recall my verses often. I am not attending the SSMT in 2 weeks but will be praying for you all and missing it greatly. To keep with the Bible memorization, I am taking the challenge of memorizing the book of James. I started memorizing the NET version so that I could say it right along with Beth, but then my dear husband shared that he is also memorizing it and he was doing the NIV version so I switched to NIV and am coming right along side him to work on this together. I can’t think of anything I’d rather do than learn God’s word with my godly husband.

Sorry to ramble on so, but I just want to thank you Beth for all that you do in promoting God’s Word in our lives. Would you consider doing future live broadcasts at different times of the day each time so that we may all get a chance to join over our lunch – or maybe next time I’ll just check out from work for awhile to join.
    God Bless You.

It was the best day yet this year! I had an apt with my psychiatrist but manged to watch some of the livestream anyway and asked for prayers for my apt cuz the Dr is not a Christian. I don’t know if anyone even saw it to pray but WOW what an apt it was. I shared with him so much of scripture and testimony. He said he has never seen a case like mine before. He said that what is so intriguing to him is that my circumstances in life are the same but my whole attitude towards life is completely transformed. I got goosebumps while sharing how Jesus has met me in the Word through Bible study and my life is forever changed. I told him that if I get to the end of life and find my faith in Jesus was a complete myth (which is never gona happen) it will have been worth believing for the peace and joy it has given me here. He really listened as I tesstified for nearly a half hr straight! It was so moving I could have bawled! There is hope for mood swings and depression I am livng proof. I will take life as it comes. If I would relapse again, so be it I have the faith that He will bring me safely through again. I love the livestream and hope we can all share again. wish we could all get on a conference call or something to communicate more some time. Some of us are just so excited by what is happening in our lives we can hardly stand it!!!thank-you Beth and Seista sisters for making my life such a joy through Jesus!!! Betty M

    Hey Mama Beth!
I didn’t get to watch the Live Stream cuz I was at work. ๐Ÿ™ I did watch the archive. It was too much fun! I love that we can do this! I think I am going to do the James Bible study this semester. I bought it when it came out with my BDay money. I am very excited that you have connected with Chris Caine! She is very near and dear to the heart of my church (Healing Place Church)! She is with us quite often in a year. I love her heart and passion and faith. We are laboring with her to end Human Trafficking. I absolutely cannot wait until the next Live Stream. Hopefully I can be a part in real time.
See you soon and I love you!

I was able to join in (listening only) as I was driving down the road (forgive me for not kneeling to join you in prayer…). I loved it! I can only imagine what was going on with that chat! What a blessing all you Siestas are to all of us!

  47. 97

I love that you were on like Donkey Kong! I was in carpool but received a message from LSOF that you were going on a live chat! I had a case of the godly jealousies because I was in that carpool line!

  48. 98

Sounds fun! I’m sorry, I missed it. I do believe I was in the middle of a breakdown about that time on that day, that did not end completely until this morning, through a wonderful pastor at a new church that does not even have their own building yet, but they’re renting a wonderful facility and the staff is awesome. They already knew of my situation and were so gracious and loving, so I’m doing a whole lot better and hopefully will be joining you the next time ๐Ÿ™‚
