Three more to go!
Three more to go!
Three more to go!
(Hear that all cheerleader like)
Ladies, the finish line is in sight! Let’s run the rest of this race marked out for us. What a privilege this has been, you guys.
I think I told you guys recently that I’d gotten a new Bible. I absolutely love it. I always choose one Book of the Bible to read through carefully when I get a new one and this time I chose the Book of Acts. I’ve been so incredibly inspired by it. The verse I’m memorizing this time is for the sake of prayer. (Do you guys often use your memory verses in prayer, turning them into intercession? It really stirs up my faith and my strength.) I’m praying that what happened when Peter was in the midle of bringing the Scriptures to attentive listeners will happen in our environments, too. I’m praying this for my pastor and those who hear the Scriptures through him. I’m praying it for myself and for those I’m privileged to serve. I now pray it for you and those you teach and encourage with the Word of God.
Beth, Houston. “While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the Word.” Acts 10:44 ESV
Lord, let it be! Drench Your listeners with Your Spirit! While we are right in the middle of sharing the Scriptures, fall on every single person who hears. I want this so much. I want a fresh anointing, don’t you? I think our God is willing to give it. Let’s ask Him boldly! All we have to do is make absolutely certain that He gets every ounce of credit. Oh, what He’d be willing to do if we jealously guarded His glory and humbled ourselves as slaves of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ok, Girls. How about yours?
I love you so much.

Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

God tricked me into a Beth Moore bible study.
Sadly, my relationship with God fell apart 12 years ago. I spent 6 years in the pit of depression and now for the past 6 years God has been walking me out of the tangled mess I got myself into. I had shut out the Christian world during all that time. Over the past couple years every once in awhile I would hear some buzz here or there about Beth Moore. I would roll my eyes — mmmm, she must be the next big thing. A couple of months ago I was invited to a Beth Moore simulcast and was so relieved that I had a real and unchangable event already on my calendar that day. Shucks. In the mean time, God was at work using me myself to instigate a chain of events that would land me right in a Beth Moore study — and having it be all my idea. I had brought up the idea to two separate friends that we should check into a local church study. I had started a chain of events that I quickly lost control of (as if I had it in the first place). It never even occurred to me that a Beth Moore study was a possiblity. Now here I was with two delicate precious women, and I couldn’t back out. I thought, oh well it’s just a study book, it can’t be too bad. Then I heard there was a video. Let me tell you I dreaded it. When they put the To Live Is Christ video on the first day our gentle leader said, “this video is quite old, so you will notice the old hair style and clothes.” We shared a laugh about having similar hairstyles. And 5 minutes into the video, I not only adored Beth Moore but realized God had brought me back to earlier days of the ministry knowing I would embrace it. Knowing that it was the study I needed. Knowing that I would open my heart to this lady who speaks my language. So I am no longer rolling my eyes at the mention of Beth Moore, instead I am praising God. God is so good.
I will sing to the LOrd all my life; I will sing praise to my God while I live. May my meditation be pleasing to Him; I will rejoice in the LORD.
