**Siesta Celebration is January 20-21, 2012**
Hey Siestas!
The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived! It is officially time to register for the January SSMT Celebration! Woo hoo!!
What a joy to walk alongside you through this year as we memorize His Word. To see you encourage each other on, and to hear how the Scriptures have made a difference in your lives is such a joy. He’s so faithful, and so much better to us than He has to be.
Okay, a few details about January. Remember, we do not charge for the Celebration event, but save money for your transportation and hotel. Your entrance fee is your well-used spiral. (More travel information will be forthcoming…very soon.) We are so excited that Travis is planning to lead us again in worship. The LPM staff is looking really forward to it!
Just to refresh your memories, below is a quick list how to qualify for the Celebration. (To see the complete Instruction post, click here: https://blog.lproof.org/2010/12/siesta-scripture-memory-instructions.html)
Here’s how you qualify:
*Clock in by first name and city at least 20 out of 24 times. (But please make your goal 24 out of 24!)
*Bring your spiral to the celebration. Again, that’s your ticket in.
*Be prepared to say any 10 of your 24 memory verses to another Siesta
*Register for the event when the time comes….which is TODAY!
Now, click here and let us know you’re coming! See you in January!
I am so excited to be able to be a part of this community of women who are committed to God through His word.
I am trying to make flight plans and before I book my flight home I wanted to know if there is the possibility of worshiping at Bayou City before I come home to Indiana. I would love to see how God has worked to bring this church and it’s family to fruition.
Love and prayers to all!

A man’s steps are of the Lord; How then can a man understand his own way?
I would love to come to the celebration but I would need it to be as cheap as possible! If anyone from the Macon/Warner Robins, GA area is planning on going and wouldn’t mind me sharing a room and/or transportation, please let me know! I will continue to pray about it & leave it in His hands!

WOO HOO!!! So excited – My friend and I are REGISTERD and other friends will be coming along with us. We have our hotel rooms and are ready to get to Houston and share this wonderful celebration with Beth, Travis, LPL staff and all of our other Siestas!!!
I will be a part of the simulcast from my home church, FBC Macon, MO.
Life has changed so much…my mom’s health issues, I work two jobs, trying to keep two houses in line…Not near enough time to get all accomplished. I am looking so excitedly forward to a break on Saturday, praying that God has a special message for me!!!!
I would love to go but I’m expecting my first child on January 12th (so I’m guessing that I’ll be a bit busy).
I’ll be praying for a great time and I look forward to reading about the event on the blog.
I signed up in faith. My husband and I are both teachers and, since our salaries have been cut every year that we’ve taught due to state cuts in education, we have no expendable income at the moment. But I’m going on faith here that God can and will provide if it’s His will for me to be there. One dear siesta has offered to let me share her hotel room for free if I can make it, so now I’m waiting on God to provide some air fare!
But He knoweth the way that I take: when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27
I’m about to sign up and can’t wait to go!! I’m coming all the way from Connecticut and won’t know a soul (have never been to Texas), but it’s all good. I look forward to meeting new people, hearing from God, and the overall adventure! 🙂
I’ve never been to Texas either. I’m a litle nervous. Hoping I can find somebody to meet me at the airport. I’ve never even gotten a cab before, I’m such a small town girl. There’s no way I’m renting a car and driving in such a large city. I’d be so lost. I get lost even here I have such a bad sense of direction. I’m from Idaho.
I am so IN! 🙂 I couldn’t go the last time, and am dying to make it this time… I actually have some frequent flyer miles to help me out, praise God, or this probably wouldn’t happen!
Coming from central Wisconsin in Jan. It will be wonderful to “fly south” for a weekend! 🙂

3 of us from Fresno, CA are planning to attend and wondered if anyone else from Fresno is going? Perhaps a church group that we might travel along with? If so, please email me at [email protected]. We are SOOOO looking forward to this!
Hoping y’all will let me come! Heard about the memory verse blog in July and have doubled up on memory verses to catch up. If I don’t fit the requirements- no worries- I’m 24 verses closer to knowing my Savior!
I’m so sorry I didn’t leave my comments with all the others…I’ve made up some time, so you’ve recieved them all at once! – but on the appropriate date/entry – and I’ll continue on…
Not sure if we can go, but we’re thinking on it over here in Washington state. Never been to Texas before! Thank you for stretching us!!
We sure hope you can join us, Heather! It might be a good break in the cold weather coming from Washington. Texas would gladly welcome you!
We are trusting God about this. Somehow, when you first posted this, we thought it was going to take place in Nashville. We are 15 hrs from Houston!! We will continue to pray and continue to memorize our scripture. Either way- we are “wallpapering our minds” with scripture-something we learned from our favorite Bible study leader!
Hey,
I tried signing up but I live in Brazil and doesn’t give me a state option. what should I do???
I really want to go!
Thank you siestas!!!
I signed up by faith–am praying God will make it happen. But I wonder if it is possible to also have a satellite location or simulcast of the event closer to, or in, Canada…

I’m hoping to be there in January. It is a step of faith to register.
I can not wait!!Anyone from Spring Hill, TN going??
This is so exciting! I am a first time visitor to the blog. I guess I have been in a cave for the past couple of years. I am 43, so blogging is a relatively new thing for me. I have been an avid Beth Moore bible study girl and I want to be a siesta! I am going to start scripture memory right now. It is never too late, right! I have recently moved back to the Houston area and hope to lay eyes on Beth in person one day. Until then, I am getting a spiral and beginning a scripture memory journey that I hope will continue through next year and end in a January celebration in 2013!
Seeing Beth in person if you live in Houston is pretty easy. Check out the “Houston Connection” on the Living Proof website for when she does Bible studies. There’s usually one each Fall (but not this time – pout). Keep checking for info.
I’m so so sad I was not able to keep this up. I wanted to come to this so badly. It turns out that selling your house and moving twice in one summer takes a toll on your memorizing. 🙁
Hi Rebecca! If you can catch up and memorize your scriptures, we’d still love to have you. We love grace around here. Blessings!
Wish I could come in January, but the cost is just a too much for this full-time college student! It’s been such a joy to be able to memorize the Sciptures and have the accountability… Maybe next time!!
Kirsten,
So thankful to hear that you have been memorizing scripture during your very busy college schedule. What a blessing and inspiration you are! May the Lord show you favor and blessing for having studied His word.
I would love to be with you all but for the time being, I can not attend. My husband needs me to help him in our business. Have fun!

I just visited this blog for the first time a couple days ago. The SSMT sounds so awesome. I want to familiarize myself with more scripture, and know the way to do that is to memorize it. I have not been disciplined enough to do it on my own and would LOVE to be part of a group of women who support one another in that very activity!!! I know it’s too late for this year, but I’m so in for next year (if you’re going to continue!) I may start now so I’m in the habit by the time 2012 gets here. I can’t wait to get involved in this blog! I need more siestas in Christ! Do I hear an Amen? 😀
Amen Siesta!!! Can never have too many “siesta’s in Christ!!”
So he said to me, This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord Almighty.

I signed up and really want to be there, but REALLY don’t look forward to the 2 hour drive and rooming by myself. Anyone coming from the Nederland, TX area that wants to go together?
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” — Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
Hey Beth!
My sister and I saw you together in Little Rock. This was her birthday present. She kept wondering what the Siestas were and it drove her crazy. Well, she found out and we have been following you since Little Rock with the little spiral notebooks she found for us. She is so funny because she said we weren’t official but we were faithful with our little homemade books! She loves you so much-we both do-but she is just so cute! We have a race to see who can get their scripture on first! We know that we can’t come this year, but please know that next year, we will be official Siestas! Love you so much!
Sue
I’ve fallen off the past few months, but so want to come. If I memorize Psalm 62 plus the ones I’ve already done, but haven’t logged in, may I still attend in January?
Sorry I’m so late….LIFE!
