**Siesta Celebration is January 20-21, 2012**

Hey Siestas!
The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived!ย  It is officially time to register for the January SSMT Celebration! Woo hoo!!

What a joy to walk alongside you through this year as we memorize His Word.ย  To see you encourage each other on, and to hear how the Scriptures have made a difference in your lives is such a joy.ย  Heโ€™s so faithful, and so much better to us than He has to be.

Okay, a few details about January.ย  Remember, we do not charge for the Celebration event, but save money for your transportation and hotel. Your entrance fee is your well-used spiral.ย  (More travel information will be forthcomingโ€ฆvery soon.) We are so excited that Travis is planning to lead us again in worship.ย ย  The LPM staff is looking really forward to it!

Just to refresh your memories, below is a quick list how to qualify for the Celebration.ย  (To see the complete Instruction post, click here: https://blog.lproof.org/2010/12/siesta-scripture-memory-instructions.html)

Hereโ€™s how you qualify:
*Clock in by first name and city at least 20 out of 24 times. (But please make your goal 24 out of 24!)
*Bring your spiral to the celebration. Again, thatโ€™s your ticket in.
*Be prepared to say any 10 of your 24 memory verses to another Siesta
*Register for the event when the time comesโ€ฆ.which is TODAY!

Now, click here and let us know youโ€™re coming!ย  See you in January!

I was using my iPad notes for a spiral but for some unknown reason deleted the whole note with all scriptures:( is there some way for y’all to pull up all my scripture posts using my name ( the only one I have seen on your site) or an easy way to search for them myself.
Thanks and if not that’s ok

I was so hoping to be able to join in this special celebration. The good news/bad news is that I got pregnant this year and I’m due December 29th! Okay, so it’s not bad news at all, but I will miss getting together with everyone! Don’t worry, my goal is still 24/24 verses!!

    Trina says:

(Excuse me, pardon me, as I make my way through all these siestas standing in line from all their hard work from this year.)
How ’bout those of us who’d like to officially begin the scripture memory in 2012 (though I’ve begun now for the rest of this year as practice :). Will there be a similar challenge, another year filled with fellow siestas memorizing scripture as well?

I have the same question. I’m so bummed that I missed this one. But I’m going to start as of September.

The last time Beth did this was two years ago, so if she does it the same way, it would happen again in 2013, not this next year.

Yay! So excited. Registered for the event and booked my hotel too! Now shopping for airfare. What a blessing it’s been all year memorizing scriptures along with all of you Siestas! You’ve kept me accountable and made it all the more thrilling!

      Lynn,
      Definitely come!!
At SSMT1, I went alone, didn’t know anyone. Siestas were supposed to wear pink boas. I went out for dinner and asked the hostess that if any people came in with the pink boas and wanted to sit with someone, they could sit with me.

Three Siestas came in and the hostess brought them to my table. From then on, the four of us spend much of the weekend together!! It was a great time! I was so thankful for my new friends.

One of them is now a very dear friend of mine. Even though we live 1000 miles apart, she was the only one there for me in my darkest hour and she blessed me abundantly by inviting me to come visit her last year. I stayed at her house and she treated me like royalty – we even had a FANCY brunch with her Bible study group! It was such a huge blessing!

So come, God will give you some new friends!!

It just makes me laugh because it sounds like a very long night! LOL Wouldn’t that be fun if we all came in pajamas for an all-nighter?! -Lynnette

Hi Ladies. I would like to join. I am new on here and I not sure how the Siesta group works. If someone would fill me in I would appreciate it. Also I am shy at first and I would be coming alone unless I find a friend to come with me. Any information would be wonderful.
I am checking in from Alabama ๐Ÿ™‚

    Pam says:

First and foremost to all my Siesta’s…I need prayer. I have memorized 15 scriptures without fail. When I got to the 16th one my mind became totally overwhelmed and I missed posting. I just posted the 17th one but I am struggling here. I have overcome so much this year but starting to feel defeated. Please send prayers my way–I want to finish this journey.
Second–to attend the event in January–did the scripture have to be posted exactly on the date–the 1st & 15th? Really want to come but do not want to attempt it if I am not qualified to attend.

      Kimberly says:

      Pam,

Just said a prayer for you. As I tell my daughter, just remember “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” I know you can do this. Don’t let satan tell you otherwise! ;o)

As to your question, no the scriptures don’t have to be on the exact date. There were many times I posted the day after for whatever reason. You should be good, just keep going. ;o)

      Kimberly

      • Pam says:

Kimberly-thank you so much for the much needed prayer. I appreciate your kindness and look forward to hopefully registering soon!
        Thank you again,

Wish I was coming! I lived in College Station for two years and would have loved sharing a room with you! But I think I have decided against the airfare. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m still working on the verses, though. Have fun.

My mom and I are planning to come ๐Ÿ™‚ We called the Holiday Inn Express right down the road and got a room booked. Thanks for all the info on the registration faq page ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. 90

Okay – I registered even though I don’t see how in the world I’ll be able to attend. I’ve no money for a hotel room, airfare or for gas to drive there! I figured I would go ahead and register, though, because I know that my Father is really good at providing at the last minute if it is something HE wants me to do ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope I get to see y’all in January but, if not, so be it – HIS will be done ๐Ÿ™‚

    Beth,
I have studied your “Fruits of the Spirit, Patriarchs, Daniel, David, Esther and Psalms ascent studies. I love you and your books. You have helped me to look at the word of God so differently than ever i had in the past. I am a gardener. I have been for the last 12 years. In the last few years the Lord has spoken so often to my heart about how the garden of Eden, gardening, and a gardener are so important to remember. I have been studying His word and the elements of my job for the last 3 years. i have been writing and studying trying to look at the Lord’s word as you have shown me i could.
I have compiled a study i am going to share with my church this winter.
i would love to share it further. Do you have any recommendation how to approach finding a publisher or even editor to look at what i have written and possibly help me to look more deeply at it or turn it into a study i could share. i have been writing articles for our church newsletter. i would love to share to give you an idea of how i write, if you would like to see them. But mostly i’d just love for someone to show me how to move forward and share what i know is from the Lord. Thank you so much.

Sue, Kingsport. I would love to come to the SSMT event, but at this time, I won’t be able to do so. Like someone else mentioned, I started off so well, but I’m getting later and later with my scripture posts. They aren’t sticking in my brain very well either. I will continue to try to memorize, and will be so sad not to attend. There is also the matter of the expense of flying and having to travel alone. I hope you’ll post pictures so those of us who won’t make it will feel a bit included.

I have to say that I am very sad that I will not be able to attend this SSMT gathering! ๐Ÿ™ My sister & I have been participating with the idea that we would attend but family circumstances have happened & they need tending to, so that will make coming to the gathering impossible. But I am faithfully memorizing anyway!!! Hopefully the next time, I will be able to attend with my sister and my daughter!!! I hope there will be some great notes & pictures about the whole event!! love to all, Barb
