SSMT Registration!!

**Siesta Celebration is January 20-21, 2012**

Hey Siestas!
The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived!  It is officially time to register for the January SSMT Celebration! Woo hoo!!

What a joy to walk alongside you through this year as we memorize His Word.  To see you encourage each other on, and to hear how the Scriptures have made a difference in your lives is such a joy.  He’s so faithful, and so much better to us than He has to be.

Okay, a few details about January.  Remember, we do not charge for the Celebration event, but save money for your transportation and hotel. Your entrance fee is your well-used spiral.  (More travel information will be forthcoming…very soon.) We are so excited that Travis is planning to lead us again in worship.   The LPM staff is looking really forward to it!

Just to refresh your memories, below is a quick list how to qualify for the Celebration.  (To see the complete Instruction post, click here: https://blog.lproof.org/2010/12/siesta-scripture-memory-instructions.html)

Here’s how you qualify:
*Clock in by first name and city at least 20 out of 24 times. (But please make your goal 24 out of 24!)
*Bring your spiral to the celebration. Again, that’s your ticket in.
*Be prepared to say any 10 of your 24 memory verses to another Siesta
*Register for the event when the time comes….which is TODAY!

Now, click here and let us know you’re coming!  See you in January!

am so sad!!! We had to choose between the SSMT Celebration and an LPL event that will be much closer to home next year. Made more money sense to go to the LPL in April.

We will certainly be with you in the Spirit as you celebrate! Know that your Sister Siestas love you!

    Tammy Bellinger says:

When we started this, I just assumed I would not go to this. I have been memorizing the verses though, far more steadily than I ever thought I would. There’s a bit of fear/anxiety in me that says, you don’t need to go to this. Go somewhere by myself, without at least one other friend to go along, just feels intimidating. But, this other part of me says, go for it! You will make some new friends!! So, I signed up! I am so excited about it!

Thank you, Beth for all the encouragement to memorize the Word. The Lord has used it over and over in my life all year long.

      Bridget (Strong Butterfly) says:

Precious Tammy – GO to the Celebration – there will be new friends galore there and you will not be by yourself!! There was a loosely organized listing of out-of-towners last time, and some shared rooms and met new friends. It’s a wonderful celebration!!

      ULCARDSFAN says:

      Tammy,
I went to the first SSMT Celebration by myself and ended up meeting some Siestas on Thurs. night that I ended up getting a ride to the church for the celebration with and one was even from my town but I had never met her. You will not be alone when you get to Houston. Don’t miss this fun and exciting experience!

      Michelle says:

Tammy, I’m with you. I couldn’t get any of my friends to do this scripture memorization with me. I’m intimidated at the thought of coming alone even if I can somehow afford to get there from Tennessee. If God provides money I will be there but I fear all the rooms will be booked. I’ll have to trust the Lord to guide.

    Karene says:

Although I am posting my verses every time, and should be able to say the 10 verses, I feel I shouldn’t register until I know I can afford to come from So. Cal. My husband’s work has been very slow this year, so I’m praying that if God wants me to attend, He will provide a way. I would so love to meet up with all the siestas AND with dear Beth! Will there be enough room if I register later?

    Diana A. says:

Thank you for the invite, but I will not be attending.

Beth I hope you don’t mind posting here where it is to be those who are coming. I just wanted to say Thank You – I needed a place to be accountable, even in a small way to keep on trying. My poor grey matter only keeps 3 at the most, but what is my joy, is that I am spending time with my God, telling Him all about His Word, and how it touches me.

God knows my heart, my intent and my effort…maybe the next year you invite to participate in memorizing, I will have more success in my eyes.

I hope that many will attend, and for those of us who can’t; maybe have an empty seat representing us who try hard, but just don’t have 10. I am honored to be apart of something that will cause good even in smaller quantities.

God’s Blessing upon each attendee, and our humble leader 🙂

      Kathy B says:

Hey Diane A, please remember that we all learn in different ways and at different rates. I know several ladies who tell me that they are conceptual learners. In other words they learn by absorbing concepts more than by word for word memorization. But it is still valid grasping of truth. Don’t let our enemy tell you that you haven’t been a success. If you have joined us in meditating on God’s Word and seeking to incorporate into our lives, you, girl, are most definitely a success in His eyes! And I am honored to call you a fellow Siesta 🙂 I’m one of those nerdy individuals who learns better when challenged. And boy, has this challenged me. But we Both are being transformed more and more into the likeness of God’s Son as His Word dwells richly in us. And believe me, THAT’s the Goal here.

    Betty M says:

I won’t be able to make the Jan celebration! I wish I could but from ND it is cost prohibitive. I don’t know if this is the place to post this but I sure could use some input. I find as I have attained senior citizen status I find memorization very difficult. I can repeat the verses from memory and even write them out but as time goes on I find my ability to recall as very difficult. I have found other gals complain of this too. Has any one conquered this battle and if they have what has worked well??
