OK, so I wrote you guys a catch-up post this morning from the airport/plane in Houston and pushed “publish” right before they shut the door and made us power down and the internet knocked me off without saving my material. I was so completely annoyed.
Now I am sitting in my hotel room typing as fast as I can because I get picked up in a little over an hour and I am a LONG way from ready. I still have early this morning’s hair, not to mention make up. Not to mention deodorant. I told you this morning what all I’d been doing but no time for that now. I’ll catch you up on stuff later. One of the things I did tell you, however, was how thankful I am to have some big projects behind me (like the Israel trip) so that I can now resume my normal amount of activity in Siestaville. I can’t wait for our summer Bible study to start. I hope so much you’ve acquired your workbooks and that you’re forming small groups, if not in person, on line.
May I also say that I miss our Scripture memory team like crazy and you can rest assured we will pick that back up in 2011? Meanwhile, I have my own spiral going and I hope you do, too. In fact, mine is in my purse right here in my hotel room. Let’s see if I can spit out one of my latest verses without looking. Oh, yeah…
“If I could speak all the languages of earth and angels but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy and if I understood all God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge and if I had such faith I could move mountains but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it. But if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude…”
Yep, the Love Chapter. Sometimes it all comes back to that. And, yes, I memorized it years ago and out of the KJV but, based on some feelings I was fighting about four months ago toward someone, it obviously hadn’t fully taken. Sometimes God and I work on new lessons and sometimes we just go back for a refresher on an old one. We’re back.
Anyway, what were we talking about? Oh, I know. I was about to tell you that I’m in Denver for Deeper Still with my friends, Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer. I can’t wait to hear what God has to say to all of us through them. And, we are so entirely jazzed to have Kelly Minter joining us this weekend (yes, our summer Bible study author). She is a great joy to me.
Shoot fire, I’m running out of time. I will try to write you guys on my way home Sunday. But I just have to tell you one little thing. I checked into my hotel room and there was a gift bag sitting on the bed. I thought it was a bag of snacks because our event coordinator will often leave one of those in our rooms for Deeper Still. While I was unpacking, I glanced back over at it and realized it said, “Happy Birthday” (not till next week) but I knew then that it wasn’t snacks. I pulled out the purple tissue and WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT WAS AN I-PAD?????????????? I NEARLY FLIPPED!!!! I set it down on my bed and paced back and forth in my room staring at it like it might turn into a pumpkin. I wasn’t going to get one because I just couldn’t justify it. Still can’t. It’s just grace. Plain and simple. Grace. I’m just so-the-opposite-of-ticked.
GOTTA GO!! I’ll write you Sunday.
Good to hear from you Beth! We are up to 18 in our Summer Bible Study (WooHoo!!!). Summer is not the time to stay out of the scriptures! I have my scripture scrapbook going. Most of them are from SLI and Breaking Free. Loving that study. Plan to see you in St. Louis in a couple of weeks before spending a month with my sis in Rockwall. Any siesta’s in that area doing summer Bible study that wouldn’t mind having a guest a couple of sessions, let me know.
Congrats on the ipad. I have a nook and love it. But the ipad can do so much more.
Love,
Jan
Scripture scrapbook? Oh, please expound. My mouth is watering at the possibilities. I do something along those lines, but would LOVE to hear your ideas.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETH!
BLESSINGS IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!
gotta love those God gifts…;)
Beautifull Awkward
Beth,
Attended Deeper Still this weekend in Denver. Just needed to reach out to you and say how God has blessed me through several of your studies and the connection I feel with you. I am also 53, have 2 precious grandchildren ages 5 and 2, been married 32 years and feel as though my life story parallels some of yours. My biggest struggle has been insecurity in my abilities and I now see it as unbelief and what I heard this weekend was so needed. I will do what he has asked me to do and let him fill the God margin so I can really experience his power!! I have a group of ladies coming to my home this Tuesday for the first week of Believing God…some neighbors, some home group members and some social friends. Would count it priceless if you could add our group to your prayers as this is a true LEAP of faith!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for being the servant and teacher that you are…I am only sorry that 49 million women weren’t there to share the amazing event this weekend!
Happy early birthday to you dear one!!
I and three other women from Iowa had the privelage of attending “Deeper Still” in Denver this week-end. What a great time we had, one to remember and grow on. Loved every minute of it and I’m still hearing the great music. What were the #3 & #4 points you had to skip? Keep doing what you do and we will keep learning along with you.
LOVE the love chapter too! And aren’t you feeling so loved right now??? I love it when the Lord romances us.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE publish the two points you missed getting to as part of your speaking on Saturday….
And also the speak-to recitation you had us do one-on-one at the end of the meeting.
Loved seeing you and your heart this weekend, Beth, thank you!
Dear Beth~
Welcome back from your trip!
How true where you wrote that “it all comes back to” the Love chapter. My Ladies Bible Study class is now doing your Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruits of the Spirit. The first of which is LOVE!
We’re going deeper and deeper and it is amazing!
You reach each of us with your Holy Spirit-guided teachings and God-annointed words of LOVE!
Jesus’ Love to You~

Wow, I read your verses and smiled. I taught my 11 yo, 8yo, and 7yo to recite 1 Cor 13:1-8 from memory in homeschool this spring. We talked about the meaning of each verse and possible applications. I think it was their favorite passage out of all passages committed to memory this year.
Btw, just got done listening to WISDOM FOR MOMS. I got on the list serve and told our entire church body to be listening as well. Good stuff in that message, Beth. Stuff I myself desperately needed to hear (btw, I’m that “older” mom you briefly mentioned in that message. I’m 45 and chasing a 3 yo, but I *assure* you ๐ that was by God’s design. My 3yo just kind of blew in to our family like a dandelion seed, the biological newborn brother of two of our other adopted children. God’s plans truly exceed any we could imagine for ourselves.)
Beth, thank you for your ministry. I’m not sure you’ll ever know (this side of Heaven) the full reach and impact of it.
Blessings,
Toni
I’ve sent in several comments over the past few months and none of them are ever published…can you help me understand why?
Laura, I’m so sorry. I’m not sure why they’re not showing up. We delete very, very few of them. If you’d like to email me, you can reach me at [email protected].
Make sure that you click the “submit comment” button, and wait for it to say “comment waiting moderation” before you log off.
Oh, how I just love the Deeper Still team. I just bought the Faithful Abundant True study and it is just amazing.
You, Kay and Priscilla are just the perfect tag team of God’s anointed women!
love you and happy early birthday!
Beth Herring
Happy early birthday Beth!! I’m so thrilled for you that you got an ipad!
What a wonderful surprise!
I am excited about the 2011 Scripture memorization. I memorized Psalm 139 NIV in 2009 and I can’t tell you how much this chapter continues to bless me. I’ll never forget the special trip to Houston either.
I prayed for the Deeper Still event over the weekend. I would have loved to have been there.
I’m praying for the family of the Siesta who took her life. So very sad.
Hi Siestas. I don’t comment very often but I’ve been a Siesta since before we were officially Siestas. I know you are a praying group, and I wanted to ask you to pray for my mom, Vivian, who is about to be with the Lord. She is dying of Alzheimer’s at 65. She stopped eating a few days ago and we are just in the waiting period at this point. I was able to be with her today and for a brief moment she touch my face and said, “my girl” which was a tremendous blessing since she virtually has lost all ability to communicate. I was so thankful the Lord allowed me time with her that was meaningful.
Thank you, and Happy Birthday to you, sweet Beth. You have been a spiritual Mama to me in my own mother’s absence, and I love you for it. Doing the new Breaking Free now and am so blessed. (And I prayed for you while it was being taped so it’s a real joy to be fed by it now!)
Thanks so much.
Annika, my heart goes out to you. I’m so sorry you’re losing your mother. I’m praying for you right now.
Thank you so much, Amanda.
Dearest Beth – How I’ve missed you! I prayed for you through your big projects, “So Long Insecurity” and the
trip to Israel – and Deeper Still and LPL events too.
Woman, you are the Energizer Bibby, but I hope you will slow down a bit and get some rest!
I know your birthday will be glorious! I love birthdays and I am celebrating your life too because it has meant so much to all of us! You are a gift straight from the Father to this generation. He planned it so well!
I love you,
GJ
PS: A birthday prize is coming your way!
Huge grin.
What is an i-pad?
Happy birthday!!! An iPad is an awesome gift and I just know you will love it!! God is so good!!! I am beyond excited about the scripture memory team starting back up! I miss not seeing all the awesome verses everyone picks! Oh, and I can’t wait to start the summer study! It’s going to be a great summer!! : )
Beth,
Thank you so much for sharing your walk in Christ with us – You make it seem so easy to just walk as I think it should be , not without challenges but with Hope of what the Lord has in store for us – He continues to amaze me through you – Keep up the good walk – and know that no matter what comes your way God is Good all the time!! And He loves us , and used you to help me see that. Thank you !!
I love you sis,
Love
Cindy Smith
Richland ,Ms.
you are just so precious to me Beth. I’m glad someone made your day like that.
Oh Sweet Siesta Mama. We were so priveleged to have you, Ms. Kay, and Ms. Priscilla in our Mile High City this past weekend. Rain and all, God displayed an incredible downpour of love. Deeper Still was an amazing experience…one I will never forget. I am sure you are glad to be home, but we are honored that you all shared your weekend with us. I cannot wait to hear you speak back here in Colorado next year, wherever it may be. Hope you have a wonderful birthday!!
Ahh Happy Birthday a week early.
Aren’t cool and un-expected gifts such a double blessing.
“Yep, the Love Chapter. Sometimes it all comes back to that. That hit me between the eyes like a two by four. I had to do some refreshing my own self this weekend. Praise God that he is a God of grace, and gives us chance after chance. I just fail miserably sometimes.
Beth,
We had a group drive up from New Mexico for the Deeper Still In Denver. What a Totally God Inspired weekend!! We were so blessed by the teachings we could not stop talking about it all the way home- 8 hours. We were the group at the restaurant you went to on Saturday night that gave you one of our T-shirts from the trip. Our ladies are going through “Breaking Free” Bible study right now, and wow, God is doing incredible things in these ladies lives because of your willingness to be open and honest and write these Bible studies so we can “break free” and move forward with an amazing God who wants only the best for us.
Happy Birthday! Home it is a great day.
happy early birthday – My 40th is Tuesday June 15 so 1 day before Beth and my amazing husband got me an ipad for my birthday! and the key was he saw how i was using it to study the Word and dig into online commentaries, and blue-letter-bible, and said basically “how can you put a limit on studying God’s word?” He’s right about that!! Beth – check out Olive Tree app, it’s formatted for the ipad already and it rocks – you can add in all sorts of bibles, commentaries and study tools.
On a related topic of Grace – God gave me exactly what i needed to remedy my whining about 40th birthday, and not being fully busy as an accountant, and working from home… a broken toe for my birthday! I broke it Friday in karate, and have a full splint and hobbling around on crutches. Kevin had planned spa day for me with my sisters, which i still went, and when i walked in the door – SURPRISE! Birthday party!! I am so grateful for a loving husband and friends/family to celebrate.
Blessings to you Beth and the whole team there!!

Beth:
One more little thing…speaking of the “love chapter,” (that blessed me so much), my husband and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary and I posted a picture of us leaving the church in his baby blue pinto which matched his baby blue leisure suit…
If you have a minute or three, go look at it! Hilarious ๐

Please check out http://www.prayforourcoast.org send it to everyone you know! Thank you, Patty in Metairie, La.
Thank you Beth for being so real! : )
I love that you got an i-Pad. Thats one that is def on my wish list! Just watched Rich’s video and all I can say is WOW, I am so ready for DEEPER STILL in December!!!! I have so missed you in Siestaville, Mama Beth!!
been missing you mama B!! love it when you think of us from airports and hotel rooms ๐ thanks for the peek into your memory verse… i needed to hear nothing more than that right now with a confrontation i’m going to have to make… i’m getting smothered by someone who doesn’t “get” boundaries and said person is easily offended anyway… right now i’m just frustrated, so i’m asking the Lord for His grace and LOVE before i open my mouth so that i don’t do more harm than good :/ agh! i’m going to etch these verses onto my forehead to get started! Lord have mercy!
Thank you Siesta’s for the comments and prayers for Connie’s family. Her funeral is Wednesday. I am certain the family will continue to need prayers for the near and not so near future.
You gotta love those sweet surprises”) Who got you the IPad? Do tell”) Lovin’ you Beth and Happy Birthday early. What day next week is your birthday?
Really enjoyed the video from Deeper Still. Would loved to have been there. Looking forward to the summer study with you all. Bee blessed my friend.
You crack me up! We’re so meant to be BFF’s. Ha!
the person who bought that iPad must really love you =)
Hi Beth! OMG you are gonna LOVE your iPad!!! I’ve had mine now for about 6 weeks and I can’t get enough of it! I switch from my devotional to the Message Bible back to your book… Over to my date book, my ToDo list, tracking sheets for my business… A little google research on a word meaning…Its FABULOUS! I think you will fall in love with it very soon if you haven’t already!
I am a late comer to your work but after finishing “So long insecurity” a few days ago, I’m beginning on round two, reading it again! (Post menopausal brain cells need repetition-repetition-repetition!) I am now hooked, totally jazzed about getting to read everything you’ve written!
I am a Sales Director with Mary Kay and I announced tonight that I was going to be studying “So long insecurity…” and if they wanted to join me to come next week with a copy and we would work through it together. All of them signed up! I can’t wait to share it with them. Thank you for all of your transparency and your wisdom in this book… It has already begun to help me!
I visited Israel recently which was a HUGE blessing. Along the way, our group recognized Beth and her volunteers and staff having devotions brought by Beth. We were so excited and began taking pictures! As she kept on teaching, we left and “couldn’t believe” we had actually SEEN Beth Moore! What a surprise when we saw her again at another site ~ then another site! She graciously posed for pictures with us girls and when I commented on how gracious she was, she said she was the one blessed and hugged my neck! I would like for her to know what a “cherry on the cupcake” she was to us that day! Jane Ellen
Dear Beth, first happy birthday! Just wanted to tell you I was part of the 48 million in Denver this weekend and truly Blessed! We came home on Sat night to our place flooded by the South Platte river, and all I could think was Blessed are you when you know you need Him! I am sure that one will stick with me. I do need Him! What a great weekend! In Christ, Carol VW
PS Keith would like me because I do love his wife! I think he would like my husband too…those hunters and fishermen have a lot in common:)
Happy Almost Birthday to you! I’m a June Bug too! Glad you received a surprise gift! Those are the best!
Just saw your post Beth and wanted to wish you a Happy Early Birthday. Congrats on the IPad! Too exciting however I remember when you got your IPhone and you carried it around in a zip lock baggie. I guess you will need to get a freezer bag out for the IPad. I had a mental picture and burst into laughter. Love you much and praising God for your life! Glad to see from the Denver photos that all went well. God is so good!
I look forward to seeing you in August.
I am super excited about this, my first, summer bible study! I have done several of your studies in small groups. Don’t know how I would have survived some tough lessons without them, literally! God used you, thanks for being willing! Anyways, back to the purpose of this letter. I would love to host a small group but with my travel schedule I can not but this idea on your blog of having a small group online sounds fascinating to me. I already invited two people to this blog and we are going to do the study. Can someone help me with the details on how to do an online small group since my new ,very loved, iPad will be my bible study tool! I am so excited I miss my small groups more than I could eve express! Thanks, kendall with lots of love
I betray my generation, what is an I-pad?:) I’m not tech savvy like 99% of my peers, yikes. It sounds cool:):) I’m happy for you, yes, abundant grace!:) Denver sounded like such a blessing for you and that right after Israel trip! The love chapter. I got interested in it during my high school days. It seemed so different to me, the way love was described. I wanted to become truly loving. Still do. Faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love. Profound timeless truth right there. I’m excited about Ruth study too! My older sister (who’s pregnant with her 1st!) is going to do the study with me:)
Blessings,
katiegfromtennessee
Hi again! I havent had internet so I couldnt check up. But I just went to a camp called Maramatha Bible Camp for a week and it was amazing!! I was so inspired that now i dont want to be missionary… I want to be a youth pastor(or pastoress I dont know how to say it!) And the camp was right after the Deeper Still conference so 7 days of just pure God!! On thursday I recommited myself to God and asked Him to use me in whatever way he needs me for and when. I am ALL His and I never want that to change. And also on Friday the speaker, Jared Newman, challenged us to write on a peice of wood what we wanted to give up for God. I gave up SELFISHNESS, HESITATION, and TEXTING. Right before I threw the piece of wood into the huge bon fire God tugged on my heart to put one last thing on there(P.S. I have a boyfriend.) and guess what it was? BOYS. Of course. So I am now going to break up with my boyfriend. But Im happy about it because the Lord God Alighty wants me too because He loves me and He wants my love too. ๐ My friend told me that He did that because He wants me to be in only one relationship and thats with Him. After that, me and her started weeping and hugging each other(which gave me the comfort and feeling that I did the right thing and my bff has my back.) =) I’m still going strong but I dont want my spiritual high to fade. I want it to stay with me all year until next year so I can recharge it at the next Maranatha Junior High Camp. Thanks Beth for starting out an AWESOME and AMAZING week! ๐
