SLI Simulcast Commissioning Statement

Hi ladies! Mom just sent me the commissioning statement to post on the blog. She also wanted me to tell you that you’re the teachers pets. We love you! -Amanda

My Dear Sister

If Christ is Your Savior

You are the dwelling place

Of His own Spirit

You have it IN YOU

to be secure.

Every day of your life

You have a choice to make

You can live in your old defeat

Or you can turn from your unbelief

And choose life

Make up your mind

To put off the old you

And put on the new you.

Never, ever, ever forget

That the Lord is your security.

He will keep your foot

From being caught in a trap.

He will take care of you

To your very last breath.

Now, leave this place

And go out into the world

And act like a person

Who knows sheโ€™s dearly loved.

You were born to be exceptional.

So, Girlfriend, go forth

And walk worthy of your calling.

You are clothed in strength and dignity!

Now unto Him

Who can keep you from falling

Be glory and majesty

Power and authority

Through Jesus Christ our Lord

Now and forever more

Amen.

So Long, Insecurity!

      Hi, Siestas!

I know this isn’t related, but I’ve committed to spreading the word about Chrissie, a little girl who desperately needs lots of prayer. Please take a look at her blog and start praying for God’s mighty, healing hand to work in her life, and for the Lord to be glorified!

      Thank y’all SO MUCH!

Thank you, Karen, for sharing with us about Chrissie! I am keeping her in my prayers!

Beth, just got home and…Thank you, Thank you! God is so good. I was so glad to be reminded how much He loves us. I am gonna have to take some time and go back over all the notes and let it all sink in. And just wanted to let you know, we already miss ya!

Woops! Wanted to let you know what a wonderful time I had yesterday with God looking over all the states and all the women that were going to be “together” today. It truly blessed my heart and overwhelmed me with such a sense of His family. Sometimes, there ARE no words…

      • WisGalinOkee says:

I would have to say that too — it took a bit of time this morning — but I was so blessed to find so many areas of the country being represented – in fact, I found two from Wisconsin -and that is where I was born – – – so I just HAD to reply to them!

        • Michele says:

          Hi, Michelle!
So nice to “meet” a Siesta…and…from Wisconsin!! I guess I am a Wisconsin girl, my hubby and I (and our fur-baby, aka Border Collie) moved here a little over a year and a half ago. We moved from Kentucky and did not know a soul, here (except our realtor). We moved so my husband could finish getting his degree and God brought us here, 6 hours away from our family (which can seem like an eternity, when you have little nieces and a nephew). We love living here, just hate being so far away from everyone. I guess, we are just starting to feel a little settled in, now.
So glad you replied. It has been very life-changing the past couple of years and friendships have been something that has really been lacking. It is so wonderful to get on the blog and see and hear so many sisters. It helps me remember, we are never alone. Our Father in heaven is ALWAYS with us and the family He has made for us is MUCH, MUCH bigger than our small spheres of influence! What a joy!!

SO many words to express how much I have come to love you Moore’s!! Today was another reason I am so blessed to be apart of this blog community. As Beth mentioned what her week had been like it felt great to have been able to pray all week with you so she could be there with POWER today. I want to share more but I wanted to at least say Thank you for all the sacrifices you make so we can have a WORD in season. I love you all dearly! Hug each other for those of us that would love to hug the snot out of you but live too far away. I look forward to the “Except Her” stories to be told!

I felt the same way, when Beth began to speak about the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs……. I would love to have been able to write down all of the “Except Her” illustrations used yesterday, but missed most of them as I was busy saying “AMEN!!!!!”

      • Lynn says:

I too loved the “except her” illustrations, just think what 300,000 “except hers” could do in the body of Christ in North America and even in our culture period! Thank you Beth and all of your family for the sacrifices you make in order to bring the Word to women all over the United States, Canada and around the world. You are loved and appreciated!!

I LOVED the part about raising our heads (secure women in Christ!) so Jesus’ blood from the Crown of Thorns can flow down into our hearts!!! What a wonderful word picture!

Loved ever minute today and wish it would have lasted at least a week! Thank you for your passion for Christ that so flows out to each of us.

Dearest Beth…thanks so much for today. I am currently facilitating the Breaking Free study with a group of 12 women. So much of what you talked about today is in line with that teaching as well. You are so gifted in your ablity to take God’s word and apply it to our lives. In a way that makes it real and applicable. You have touched my heart in a very special way and for that I am so grateful I know all glory goes to Jesus christ, but what a vessel you are for getting HIS word out to all of us. Today was an awesome time and I can not wait to go back through my notes and ponder this information some more. I want to type it all out and share it with my friends. Love you girlfriend!!! Blessings to you family as well!

Hey Wendy…I thought this a good place to say it…since we became friends over this whole ordeal, when Beth had us hold hands at the begining, I sittin on the edge of the row so I couldn’t reach across…so I lifted up my hand a pretended I was holding yours. From Oregon to Canada how cool is GOD???

      • TICKLEDPINK4U (Wendy) says:

Marcy, I’m so glad we connected through all of this! God orchestrated our encounter because He knew we needed to become friends. So yes, God is soooo cool! Here’s to the distance between Quebec, Canada and Oregon, USA, being an arm’s length away! Praise be to God!

P.S. I love your smile! I can even see the smile in your eyes. โ™ฅ

I was so impressed how you spoke specifically to me (out of 300,000 other women) — and addressed the subject on addiction… you definitely spoke directly to me…thank you… I went to hear you today for the first time without any expectations… but I have known for a while GOD is up to something big… and He remains forever faithful…

I am a Christian woman… Nurse … mom…and struggle with addiction.. but praise God I am recovering after many years.. I am blogging my journey at my website…

You made God’s Words dance off the pages of the Bible

Just got home from the simulcast. What a blessing! -(even though the satellite feed was lost for the first 30-40 minutes after lunch.) :/ But they were somehow able to connect by internet & we got to see the end. Thanks for the commissioning statement. I will print it out & put it in the back of my SLI book.

How grateful I am to God for putting you, Beth, in my life. The last 10 years He has used you over and over to meet me right in the middle of season after season of His growing me up. This insecurity thing has been a booger but it’s done….I do remember what I’ve been taught and I am doing the thang!

Beth, you are so dear to me. Thank you for everything you do. I love you so. โ™ฅ xo

We attended from Valley Bible EFree Church in Haddam, CT!! What an honor to be 300 among the 300,000!! Thank you Beth for your poignant reminder to us today… “You were taught death to the old; life to the new”… God bless you and give you rest!!

      • Helene S. says:

I’d also like to add that I too spoke the commissioning with my mom… The very same mom who 26 years ago threatened to ‘disown’ me if I did not come back to the religion she brought me up in. During these many years, she did not do that. She has attended church with my family; however, I still do not know in my heart with a good confidence that she has completely surrendered to the Lord. I still don’t… But I pray that she will remember those words, and ask the Lord to make them real to her if she does not. Thank you Beth.

What a day of healing & inspiration! It is amazing how God works. I had bought your book last week and was carrying it to a dentist appt. with the back cover face up (so the word Insecurity was hidden)when someone spotted the binding and said “Oh did you know there is a simulcast by Beth at Valley In Avon, Ct in a few days. That is how I found out about it! It is wonderful to know there are so many other women out there looking toward God! Thank you for all that you have to share-

three of my friends and I traveled to Norman, OK to Journey Church for the simulcast.
What a gracious, friendly & loving group of ladies. And the food, drinks & snacks were so delicious! We were truly pampered.

Amanda, thank you for posting the commissioning statement. Continuing to keep Curtis and your family in my prayers.

Awesome simulcast! Thank you MamaBeth, Travis and everyone who helped make it happen!

Beth – you looked fabulous!! I loved your colorful outfit and you sure did have a perfect hair day! What was Travis worried about?

My thoughts when you first came out:
    1. She is so beautiful!
    2. That is some colorful dippin’ sauce on our little chicken nugget. Honey mustard and ranch with a splash of BBQ. (Seriously, that was in my head the whole day) haha

I wanted to jump through the screen and give you a big hug.

Great worship – that band was almost as good as the Ipod band from the SSMTC. Guess they were booked, huh? ๐Ÿ˜‰ And congratulations to Travis on the Dove award!!

    Great teaching, MamaBeth! Inspired indeed!
Praying now that y’all get some rest.

I feel like I have walked the journey of the God handing this material to you as you were teaching Esther, through the blog questionnaires, to the actual book (which I read in less than 48 hours) Today….was icing on the cake, an exclamation point at the end of a statement. “I am free and secure in Christ alone!” Thank you again Beth for your humble obedience to serving us so well!! Rachel says:

Loved it! I came not necessarily feeling securebut God has brought me a long way in my life so that I’m more secure than I once was. I was reminded though of the fact that I’m in denial of some of my insecurities. As we stood there fAce to face at the end speaking the commissioning statement it was so awkward and I felt so insecure! Why is looking each other in the eye for any length of time so awkward? AND she was my SISTER – IN – LAW!!! What in the world? I need to get a grip on that one!
It also occurred to me that not only do we miss out in life because of our insecurities we end up looking like bigger idiots by not participating in something than we feared appearing had we actually participated.
A revelation I had : I’m not one toraise my hands in worship. I don’t think that’s wrong and judge noone for the same behavior. However, in my heart, though I would have denied it before, it’s all about insecurity and what people will think . what horrible thing someone could think about that I do not know but apparrently I still worry about it. I’ve never chosen to just do it anyway also because I feel like a fake. Today I felt God’s spirit showing me that it is my insecurity and I should say a secure woman (in this personal moment of mine) would raise her hands and I should do that which will help me reach a more secure mentality in this area. This is a personal situation for me and I’m in no way implying this is what should be for everyone.
I have a 7 month old daughter and she is SO worth the work! Thank you, Beth, for telling us we are with it too!

Pardon all the typos. I’m typing from my phone literally moments after our session ended. Was that an insecure thing to say? Sigh.

      pam harris says:

I too used to struggle with raising my hands in public worship. But one day God confronted me point blank and said are you gonna praise me in Heaven, why not here on earth? So now if I feel the feeeling, up goes my hands!

rachel, you are not alone with that one. i too never raise my hands, and i am embarrassed to admit it, but in the past i’ve even questioned the motives of those who have. i am confessing that today and leaving it in the past. my moment of awareness was when i realized that i have judged people for something instead of just accepting them and with love, “believe(s) all things, hope(s) all things”. i guess that is what i expect others to do to me too.

anyway, i was thinking about this very thing and was a little surprised to read about it from someone else.

wasn’t Travis and the others great?

      Pam says:

      Rachel,
I am one of the sisters here that has followed very closely with each chapter of the book but was was never comfortable enough to “join” the discussion. However, I have been with each and every one of you through this journey and have truly become more secure with each page and post. It is a journey-a process to grow in the Lord and overcome–truly overcome every insecurity we have. But…the promise is we can overcome! Your post touched me because I was one who struggled with raising my hands in worship for similiar reasons. But I feel led to share with you that when I made the choice to overcome that obstacle and I raised my hands for the first time…..it was awesome! You can’t imagine the release I experienced and how close I felt to the Lord. So if raising your hands is something you want to do but don’t because your insecure, know that you can overcome–you will be blessed. If this is not your practice, I believe God hears your prayers, enjoys your worship, and more importantly–knows your heart. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reminding me of the small hurdles I have been able to overcome. May God bless you!!

Wanted to say what a blessing you received today to have your daughter with you. I too, wanted my daughter to be with me. However, even though she is a strong believer, she would not have gone today because it is not the time in her life to do this with her mom. I did tell her when I got home, that one day I wanted to do this with her. From my heart to God’s ear! It was a fabulous day; how happy I am that you were able to share it with your daughter! Enjoy!

Ginger, I have to say, you were (and are_ beautiful! I loved finally meeting you today. I bet you’re a bowl full of fun energy!!! Because of how my week had been and the frame of mind that I came in I thought before I got there, if I see Ginger I’ll cry. I don’t know why I especially thought that…. maybe it’s because I didn’t think I could live through another kindness of God. But yay, He helped me contain my tears. But truly, what a blessing it was!!!

Just got home and my heart has been so thankful for this day. I took my daughter who
for years has known the way but has chosen not to choose it. She has been living in the
world & it hasn’t been treating her to well. Today for the first time in years she shed tears as I watched her begin to open up & receive the word you taught today. She has struggled with insecurity most of her life and today I feel like she knows there is a choice that has to be made to change and that way is Christ. Thanks so much to your family for being willing to share you with the wonderful community of women who have come to love you deeply. You are always so humbly willing to share from you own life experiences and that helps us all so much to know we are not alone in this thing called life. Your amazing!!! Dear Beth!! “Jesus loves me this I know!”

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I am still trying to absorb everything I have heard today. But I want to thank you for your transparency….I have been on an interesting walk over the last year. Ephesians spoke truth to my heart today, lifting me out of…and putting me up into…..I so needed to be told we don’t wait til we feel secure we make up our mind to act that way! We either believe He is true or we don’t!! Thank you for sharing that truth..it was water for this thirsty one.

Blessings to you! Thank you again,

This was a life changer…will affect my entire sphere of influence…nursing students (I am an instructor at our local hospital-based rogram in Lewistown, PA), our ministry at Upper Room Worship Center, all my relationships, especially with the Lord. I want to live securely in Him and get beyond me in order to better serve others. Included Beth’s blog to follow on my blog site and will be writing about how todays teachings moved me in my Spirit to grow more in Christ. I was so of fire I ordered the book to study (devour)and CD for the car stereo. Thanks so much. Wow!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Today was such a blessing and my every prayer was answered. 1st- I have been praying for unbelieving women to come to know Christ this very day. Beth didn’t even keep me waiting until the end of the day-she gave the invitation even before lunch. I had goose-bumps all over and sure enough after lunch, she announced that we have a new sister in Christ! We also had some issues with the weather here in Nashville, but even as I prayed that God would allow His message to be heard to the faithful who had gathered, the connection was restored-twice and in the midst of prayer each time! 3rd-women of all stages of life were present and engaged…all ages! 4th-OK here goes…one of my HUGE issues w/insecurity is this… After graduating college as a vocal major, I didn’t sing for over 10 yrs. For the sake of brevity, let me just say that it’s been a back and forth with the Lord since then until finally LAST summer (I’m nearly 40 yrs old now and still running from this thing) when God said-“I just want to hear you sing. That’s it.” Through obediance I’ve found sheer joy in singing His praises…and sure enough today-my sister in front of me stopped on the way out with the most beautiful compliment I’d ever heard. And then of all things she could have said, she asked, “Are you using it?” Here at the end of this wonderful message of the old self/new self, Jesus sent me a valentine rewarding me of moving away from my old self and renewing myself in Him. Praise His Name Forever! Be blessed siestas.

I am a 38 yr. old mom and have three girls: 11, 9, and 6…definitely worth the work! I was also joined by a dear 20 yr. old friend who desires to make a mark on her generation of Christians girls to reclaim their security in Christ alone! Another fellow mom who came with us and has a strong-willed girl was also blessed by the few moments you talked about Amanda! God works in all the little places you go when you speak, Beth! Hallelujah! We had a 3-way commissioning between us and it was a beautiful thing! It was so fantastic today! Thanks, God, for telling Beth all You had planned for us to hear today!

The last “E” is “exceptional in life” – You will be the exception! We all have a need for significance. God knew exactly what He was doing when He made you you. You will stand out in this culture. (random notes to be explored later)

Exceptional in life. Basically, we become the exception to the worldly rule of thumb about how people normally behave. I.E. All women love to gossip. Well…except so and so. Because of Jesus Christ, we live in such security that we do not live in the old self. We live as secure women, choosing to put on the new self, and bringing fame to the name of the LORD.

      I hope that helps.

Thank you all so much for filling me in! That was a piece I really needed to hear. I will pass it along to my friends who were with me! Let’s go be exceptional!

      Hi Tara,
The last “E” was “Exceptional in life”. It was focused on the last verses, Ephesians 5:1-2.

We lost the feed too for a little while….I got to see that #5 was “Upended by Grace” but missed most of Beth’s explanation of it. :/ Did you take any notes for this part that you would share?

      • Lisa KJ says:

Hi, my brief notes on “Upended by Grace” ….
        Ephesians 4:32
        * Foregiveness is tied strongly to insecurity … inability to forgive = insecurity and equally strong is the ability to forgive and be secure.
        * Grace others as Jesus has graced you!
        * Grace turns everything upside down and things are upended!!
        * Guilt will trap you in insecurity. True honesty in confession will bring foregiveness. Say it & Beleive it (foregiveness)!
        * When we forgive it isn’t a loss/losing … but it is a choice and leads us to freedom. Holding on to hurt and grudges is like posessing a tapeworm!

        Hope that helps

      Barb says:

      From my notes:
E=Exceptional in life – “EVERYONE has a need for significance. When we 1. choose to respond differently then Before SLI (Think-a different thought about-it), 2. then act on the new thought (Do it), 3. the new behavior/thought will move up to our emotions/affections (be a change in us) and THEN we will stick out like a Healthy (SECURE) woman. People will see the change & want to know what the change is in you. God has known exactly what He was doing when He created you and He wants you to be blessed by your life experiences (I think that is what Beth meant – couldn’t get it all down). Let Christ overtake us … and when people say ‘No one could handle that/show her face after that/…[many examples] – well, EXCEPT her’. Our response – ‘I would be that same way – EXCEPT JESUS.’ Let this be the death to the old us and LIFE to the new. Are others worth what it would take for you to walk in the pain you have had & come thru it, to experience what He has to teach you?”

Beth I hope I got that right. This is how it resonated for me. This was so powerful to me!!! A great re-cap of the book! I have visibly been the insecure one in my life situations. I want to be the Exception. I want people to see the change in me and want to know why-for His Glory!!!

Beth, thank you so much for the SLI book and simulcast. It was mind blowing, and opened my heart to so many new ideas and truths. I am part of a group of 14 who meet weekly to study your Bible studies. We are sort of newbies, as we’ve only done Daniel and Esther, but we all love every moment of the classes, so we have vowed to continue our studies, using your studies as we can get to them. Is there a particular order in which your studies are best studied? We are all so moved and amazed by how you bring such understanding from the scriptures. We thank you so much for your work, and that of your family, and those who work for you. We can tell that it’s a labor of love for all of you. Praise You Lord!
