Simulcast DVD

Hi ladies! This week’s most frequently asked question has been whether we will make a DVD available of Beth’s teaching from the So Long Insecurity Simulcast. I finally have an answer for you!

There will be a DVD and the planned release date is July 1.

We have also been asked about The Promise of Security, which is a 40-page booklet of Scriptures that pairs nicely with SLI. It is sold out, but I’ve been told that the publisher, Tyndale, expects to have more of them in early May. They will be available in many bookstores and in our online store for $1.

In other news, I finished Francine Rivers’ Her Mother’s Hope this week and I’m already dying for the next one! Her Daughter’s Dream looks to be coming out in the fall. I just went to her web site to look for that release date and look what I came across! Ha!

This was taken at a book signing that Mom and Mrs. Rivers did together here in Houston.

And, because this post needs yet another topic in it, I want to thank you for praying for my family since Curtis had his surgery 12 days ago. He is doing much better and life is feeling a lot more normal. Sometimes Curtis and I get bored of “normal” but I can assure you we are more grateful for it now.

Have a great weekend, Siestas!

PS – There is a little present at the top of our sidebar for everyone who has asked me how to have the blog posts emailed to them over the last three years. Woo hoo!

So glad Curtis is feeling better!

Your mom rocked it in Atlanta. I’ll never be the same. I want to be exceptional.

    Hi Amanda
I really need to go to the prayer requests page on the blog and leave this but I’m scrunched for time so here goes! We are headed out the door this afternoon for the GA retreat here in NW Mo…it’s a huge family affair (3 generations) and an annual event. It is so much fun to serve the girls – our future missionaries! The theme song for all of the MO GA retreats this year is amazing and here are the lyrics:

Lord I am small but help me to see
That You have big plans for me
Lord I am young but I know how to give
And this is how I’ll live
I’ll give my all to you
Because I know Your Word is true
And when I give my all to You
Even a little boy or a little girl
    Can change the world

Isn’t that amazing? I know I felt God’s call when I was a little girl at GA retreat so I know He’ll be speaking to them this weekend. This is the 3rd and final weekend of GA retreats at six different locations all across the state of MO. Please pray for the hearts of these little girls to be softened, for the world to become hushed, and for them to soak up every bit of the Word that is dropped on their hearts over the next 24 hours. The altar call at all of the retreats is Saturday afternoon during the final general session beginning at 2:35. This is our next generation of warriors clothed in strength and dignity! It’s so exciting! Please pray for them and all of us across the state. Go Ga’s!!!!

      I was a GA,. . .and I am praying!

      • campbell6 says:

Thanks for the prayers Sandy! GA retreat went wonderfully and I really felt the prayers. I found out on Friday evening, 15 minutes before I was to lead worship in the first general session, that I had prepared the WRONG SONG for the “theme” song! I listened to it on CD and immediately became familiar with it but the prayers kept me calm and focused and it all came off without a hitch. Thank you SO MUCH! We also had major rain showers in the forecast and God held them off….we didn’t have ONE DROP of rain. It was a great weekend…thanks again!

    Amanda,

My first reaction when I saw the picture of you and Mrs. Rivers was “Wow! Amanda sure looks a lot like her mom!” I thought you might appreciate that. All of you Moore/Jones/Fitzpatrick girls are stunning. Thanks for all you do to make this a sweet community.

    Lynne says:

I’m so glad that things are becoming more “normal” for your family Amanda ~ Curtis’ challenge will be to be patient with himself as his body heals from the infection and so tires much more easily than he’s used to. Being a patient patient is always a good thing :>)

    Kim Davis says:

I am so excited for the DVD and being released July 1st! Also, thanks for letting us know about Curtis……we will keep lifting your family up in our prayers.

PTL that Curtis is better! Thanks for letting us know.

    How is MamaBeth’s toe?

    • 15.1
      Rene says:

I’ve been wondering about that toe myself. I thought maybe that’s why Beth was in sneakers on the simulcast. Well, they looked like sneakers.

      • Michele says:

She wore sneakers? I didn’t notice, but that’s no surprise, I’m not good at paying attention to things like that.

I did notice her colorful top and perfect hair though – beautiful!

I don’t think there’s much you can do for a broken toe. Hopefull it’s not causing too much trouble.

    Siesta OC says:

I am so excited about this. I had to miss the simulcast because of school. I also facebook’d it for my Bible Study girls. YAY! Thank you for making it available. Now if we could just get your mom a radio spot!

    Sandra says:

We loved the SLI simulcast last Saturday. It was soooo good. I’m happy to hear that it will be available on DVD for all the ladies who could not be there on Saturday. What a great message for all us insecure ones. It’s good to know we are not alone in our struggles. Thank you Beth.

    LDB says:

Ladies, I just attended the simulcast and was truly blessed only to be let go from my job this week. I know this was not the job for me. I am retired and everyone in this office wore hot pants and cowboy boots!! No, I didn’t fit in well. But I am so discouraged. I know there are many who have more things to worry about than I do but needed to tell Beth to “Keep on Preachin It!!

You all are a true blessing, hope Curtis is better very soon.

    April says:

Thanks for the post. I would have asked about the DVD myself but had a feeling we would be hearing something. So glad to hear Curtis is doing better. I had a Thyroidectomy eight weeks ago. I know what you mean about a new appreciation for β€œnormal”. I didn’t think I would ever feel normal again, however, it does come and thankfully it didn’t keep me from the simulcast.

  20. 20
    Kim R. says:

When you said the DVD was the most asked question, I think probably most of those questions were from me!! I couldn’t make the simulcast because of a ministry commitment, but reading the book and blogging with all my siestas was a life-changing experience. Soooooooooooooo happy to get to see it on DVD!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you girls do.
Also glad for you Amanda that life is back to as normal a life can be with 2 little babies!! I have 7 children and my baby is 11…I sure do miss those days!!!

    Dawn says:

God is so good to me. I started the SLI discussion group on the blog but didn’t complete it. I started spiraling from page 1 but tried to push through as Beth had encouraged, but ended up in one of the worst pits I have been in to date. It’s also the farthest I’ve ever pulled away from Him. By the time I attended a local woman’s conference the week before the simulcast I was barely going through the motions…. 3 wks behind in bible study, no quiet time, barely praying. The only reason I went to that conference was I had already pre-paid. However, God graciously met me there in the most incredible manner. He has been walking and talking and encouraging me ever since! However, I do have some regret over not completing the book or attending the simulcast. I feel like the DVD is His way of giving me a second chance πŸ™‚

I love Her Mother’s Hope TOO! And I cannot wait until Septemember! So good! I sent it to my mom for Mother’s Day, had to explain to her that I wasn’t say that our realtionship was dysfunctional… LOL!

    Diane says:

Went to the simulcast with my 19-year-old niece. Were it not for her and the hard work of my dear friends who made the simulcast happen, I would have stayed home in bed. I am completely spent and am recovering from a bad fall I had a few weeks ago and I would have loved to indulge my “inner blob” that day.

That simulcast was part of a grand-slam work in my niece’s life that weekend. God spoke to her for three days straight in very timely, real, and personal ways. She was blown away. Her Facebook status on Monday read, “Why didn’t Beth Moore have any sons? I so would have married one of them!!”

    Need I say more? πŸ™‚

    Beth Herring says:

Glad to hear about the DVD – it will go well with my collection of your mom’s teachings.

So thankful that Curtis is doing so well. May the Lord continue to lift him up and keep him on the path to full recovery.

    In Him,
    Beth

Thanks so much the info. Our ladies that didn’t get to go will be very excited.
I attended the conference in Woodstock and dragged my 17yr old daughter with me. She wasn’t happy and actually fell asleep for part of the first session. Apparently Beth’s voice penetrated her subconscious because at lunch she could recite the first three points! She paid more attention in the second session and she said that she felt like she was already pretty secure but that now she knows how to be nicer about it to others. She also spoke to her youth group at church about her experience.
Thanks for all you guys do!

I love Francine Rivers too! Just got the book, haven’t started reading it yet. Lynn Austin is another good fiction author if any of you siestas are looking for another good author to read. KMSmom86 says:

I’m sooo glad to hear that there will be a DVD of the simulcast teaching! A week later, I am still trying to process all that I heard that day. I was struck by the fact that to be insecure is to not believe God. WOW.

I read Francine’s book soon after it was released. Like you, I cannot wait for the next one. She is such a great writer and I love her books. Redeeming Love is my favorite book of all time.

    Have a great weekend!

NO MI is the north west corner of the lower peninsula of Michigan. If you lay out your left hand we are between the pinky and the ring finger. Lots of green rolling hills and clear blue water. Of course the clear blue water is NOT very warm yet.

    Amanda,
So glad to hear Curtis is feeling better. Praise the LORD!

I just finished Her Mother’s Hope, and I loved it! I will say parts of it were hard to read. I’m really looking forward to the conclusion. I am also ready for another Anne Rice book. I loved that series you recommended a couple of years ago, Christ the LORD. I have not read her new book Angel Time. (Partly because I just studied Daniel, and don’t want to get hung up on the obvious) LOL
Thanks for all your work on the blog….you are such a blessing!

Kelly, when you finished the book, did you just shout? I did, I went to turn the next page on my kindle, and it was over. I even let out a little scream.

Let me know what you decide to read next, I always enjoy hearing what others are reading as well as the study that they are in.

Thrilled to hear the DVD will be available. There were so many wonderful nuggets that my pen could not write fast enough in note taking πŸ™‚ Now I can have some ladies come over and we can have a night of sharing, prayer and encouragement after viewing together. Thanks again for this powerful message and directing us to Scriptures that will help us learn to walk in freedom of Insecurity.

I have started reading So Long Insecurity after being at the live event on the 30th of April. I just wanted to share a story. I was reading today in Ch.6, while my children were being quiet and well behaved (a rarity). My just turned 2 daughter, Elly came and sat by me and asked,”what you reading mommy?” I showed her the cover. “Read to me”, she said. I happened to be about to read Psalm 139, part of which is “YOu know when I sit down or stand up.” She listened quietly as I finished reading the page, she then looked at me and said “like this?” and stood up and then sat back down. “Yes, honey God knows you just did that”, I replied. I set my book down and she imediately picked it up and opened it and began to pretend to read. After a couple minutes she looked up at me and said, “Jesus loves me. You know that?” I remember your mom saying something about impacting our daughters and what a blessing it would be to have the next generation of women grow up to be secure…. well, she impacted a 2 year old today, a good start.

I am glad to hear about the DVD. My daughter was supposed to go that day but was really sick, and there’s so much that I didn’t get down.

I don’t know how you and your mother managed to get through all this with your husband in the hospital. Well, I do know. It’s pretty amazing what God can do with us when we let Him.

I went for my one year checkup today after 3 back surgeries in 4 days last year. If I hadn’t done the Esther and SLI studies, I don’t know where I’d be after the doctor told me I should think about hiring a personal trainer who knows what to do with a “pudgey middle aged woman.” I wanted to jump on him and beat him silly. He’s lucky I still have back problems. I really wish Beth had been in the room with me. I would have loved to hear what she would have said to him. Thanks goodness I am not where I was before I started either study. I’d be devastated for days.

Thank you for all the work you put into this site. I’m kind of having withdrawal symptoms each Thursday. What’s next on the siesta agenda?

So glad to hear about the DVD. It will be easier to spread the message if it comes from your mom instead of me (I may leave out something very important).
The little scripture book was such a good read. All of my memory verses since February 1st have come from the SLI book. I love the info on the scriptures your mom used in the SLI book.
Also, so glad Curtis is feeling back to normal. Take it easy though and don’t push it too fast. (After all how many times can you take it easy like this? It’s so hard to stay down, but it will make the recovery time shorter.) Can’t wait for the Summer Bible Study info to come out. We finished Daniel 4 weeks ago and now the SLI is over also, I am ready! Have a great weekend everyone.
