Sisters, I just thought I’d better shoot you a quick update. I told you earlier today (see previous post) that CJ was getting better but he’s back up to 103 degrees with an elevating white count. They’ve just put in a call to his doctor. Thank you so much for your concern. We are humbled that you’d join us on this journey and expend the extra energy for intercession. I’ll let you know something some time tomorrow.
And, since so many of you mentioned the simulcast, please know that I, too, am super excited about Saturday and counting on God to come through for us. Your anticipation fuels mine! I trust Him to settle my mind about the Joneses in time to have at least forty-eight hours of solitude leading up to the event. I got in a couple of hours of study today while AB was napping and Jackson was at Mother’s Day Out. If, for any reason, we’re still turned upside down around here, I also trust God to show His strength in our weakness. He’s preparing for Saturday even while I’m keeping these babies. Their Nana will be on her way Thursday and God willing (and I know that He is), I’ll see you then! It’s by no means up in the air.
You are precious to us.
We’ll do a roll call on Friday to see which Siestas are attending and from which locations. I guess you know by now that I love roll calls! I dearly love to imagine you in all your walks of life and all your cities and towns around the country doing the same kind of thing on the same day in Jesus’ great Name. Most of all, I think He loves it. (Which reminds me, it’s almost time for Siesta Summer Bible Study III! Stay tuned for more information. Yes, I’ve already chosen a specific series. I’ll tell you which one in May.)
OK, both kids are in bed and the dishwasher’s going. I’m going to set my broken toe up for a while. Grin. I love you. (Btw, an adult son of one of our Siestas got word to me recently that his mother swears and declares that I really do love her. And she’s right.)
Oh dear, we have more in common than I thought. My name is Beth and I broke my little toe while my husband was recently out of town. I have been keeping up with two kids also: but they are my own and taller than me ; )
I’ll see YOU Saturday, but I doubt you’ll see me in Alabama. I’m going to prop my foot up during the Simulcast…and I think I can speak for all the Siestas that you can put yours up too! Saying extra prayers for Curtis…
Still praying for Curtis and the rest of you! I am so thankful that he is recovering and will be home soon.
I don’t know how you do all that you do and still prepare for your events like you do. You are amazing and I know that God just pours in when you least expect it and then you just pour out to us like a fresh rain!
Looking forward to the simulcast. I am heading to my moms 3 hours away to take part in it!
In Him,
Beth Herring
I’m saying big healing prayers for Curtis and I am SO excited about the event on Saturday…I just heard about it and found a place near by that is doing it, Praise God! This will be so out of my comfort zone as I’m going to an unfamiliar church alone..but because of what the book taught me I am not afraid because I AM clothed in strength and dignity! Thank you SO much Beth and BIG PRAYERS FOR COMPLETE HEALING (preferably before Saturday) coming to your family! God Bless you!
Just had to write to say I praise God for your ministry. I did the study on insecurites because some friends were doing it and I wanted to be part of it. Well, God was working. I didn’t realize how many insecurities I had. Notice the word, had—-God has healed me. I gave a mini testimony last night at church, complete with mike and standing on stage. No fear, God was in control and I wasn’t worried about what anyone but my heavely Father thought. He said good girl!!!!!!! Looking forward to Saturday with you and friends. Will be praying for all your opportunities (Kurtis, foot, etc)
Love in Christ,
Meredith
Beth,
I cannot begin to imagine the blessing that awaits this Saturday. It’s gonna be BIG if the enemy is trying this hard to sidetrack you. Guess that mean booger doesn’t know that those two grandbabies are a mighty source of power and inspiration. After all, Miss Annabeth herself was the spark behind the book. Praying that you will have sweet solitude, clear thinking, and divine intervention for your prep. I’ll be there ready to be poured into on Saturday. I’m about to burst!!! Just got my tickets today and I just want to jump up and down. I’ll be the one with the bandaid on my big toe…feeling your pain since I tripped over our new puppy. See you there!
Praying for all of you and I can’t wait to see what God has in mind for saturday!
Praying for Curtis. He was on my mind and I knew he needed prayer….
Oh dear, not another setback for Curtis. You all have my continued and increased prayers.
Beth, did you “buddy strap” your broken pinky toe? I think there is a spiritual lesson here.
Looking forward to the simulcast on Saturday. May the LORD grant you traveling mercies.
Sweet Jesus,
Touch Curtis with your healing hands and rid his body of the infection. Bring his temperature down and help him to take this time of rest to just trust in you. Lord I pray that you would be with Amanda and help her to focus on Curtis, while missing her babies. Be with Beth as well as she tends to those sweet sweet Jones kiddos! Lord we praise you for the way that you have worked this out for this family to be so close to one another in so many ways! I pray for safe travel for Curtis’ parents as they arrive tomorrow and that they would find comfort in them as well!
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
Manda – Mel is praying for you guys!
Prayers lifted up for your whole family.
Praying for you all! Heledd 🙂
Praying. Please keep us posted.
Praying for all of you! My grandmother had the same thing happen several years ago. She was in the hospital for several days and then she was fine! Excited about another study!
Beth, Jesus tells us we can, in His Name (with all the power and authority inherent in The Name) do everything He did and even more. So lay hands on Curtis and command that fever to leave him, in Jesus Name. Jesus has already borne this infection and Curtis is healed. Praise God.
Dear Beth, Curtis is my prayers and so is the rest of your family. I spend 5 days a week from 7:30am to 5:30pm with a group of 5 little guys and 1 little gal from the ages of 9 months to 3 years old (I have a Family daycare home). Those little ones can run you ragged, but oh what joy they bring to our lives! Hope your toe feels better!
So sorry to hear about everything you all are going through. I’m praying for you all! I know Amanda feels blessed to have her mom and (soon) mother-in-law to help at this difficult time. Praying that Curtis will be home by the time you leave for Atl. (if not before).
Patti, Kissimmee, FL
Praying for Curtis and Amanda and especially Bibby as she handles this family emergency and trusts God for the details for the simulcast. But, Beth, I got so tickled when you said you broke your toe and discovered you really don’t cuss! I know a little ditty that goes: “Breathes there a soul so dead, who never to himself has said, blankety blank blank, as he stubbed his toe on the foot of the bed?” Now I know you are not a dead soul, but have definitely come out of the pit of cussing! lol
Grace, grace, long naps for the kiddos, and more grace.
(that was my prayer for you)
Warm and Praying in Alaska.
Thanks for the update. We continue to pray.
Wow, I am praying!!
We have no idea what’s going on in the Spirit realm right now, but I have a feeling it’s wild! So glad the Lord is on your side! Greater is He who is in you…
Hey Beth,
We’re having our final SLI simulcast team planning meeting tonight. I’m going to print your last two blogs and share them with the rest of our team at First United Methodist here in Panama City, FL. Then we’ll lift you all up in our prayers.
Thank you for the updates on your son-in-law. I know personally what you’re going through, as I shared earlier in the week of my husband’s ruptured appendix back in 1991. It was hard watching my man suffer but we got through, to God be the glory! I know you all will too.
In Jesus Name I pray for you Beth as you are preparing for Saturday–my heart is about to bust with excitement to hear what the Lord has placed in your heart to share with us all! (It’s been a few too many years since I’ve been to one of your live events!)…I’m praying also for miracles in hundreds of women’s lives across our country!
In His Love,
Donna Benjamin
Praying here too! For ALL of you. What a week you’ve had.
Can’t wait to see what God has planned for Saturday.
Hugs,
stephanie
Holding you all in prayer – praying for for healing (and patience) for Curtis, peace and courage for Amanda – energy for you (I volunteered to babysit when my grandbabies were 3 and 2 mos – just during the day – while their Mom was taking a class and was astonished at how tired I was by the end of each day) and traveling mercies for the incoming grandparents.
praying, praying, praying!!
oh sweet BETH!
1. you do NOT cuss. I won’t believe it.
2. of course AB’s hair looks great with you in charge.
3. praying for that sweet son-in-law of yours to pull out of the woods
4. you have our permission to wear COMFORTABLE SHOES this weekend. And just to make you feel good about it, I swear to wear them too.
seriously praying for you and the whole team. God really does have a mighty work coming our way this weekend – why else would Satan be SOOOO interested in trying to sneak in the door?
love you very much,
Deirdre

Can’t wait till Saturday!! Some of our brave girls are leaving at 4:00am to get in line! Please forgive me, I will be the one leaving early because Saturday night is also my daughters Senior Prom! I know you will understand, with 2 daughters of your own. Blessings to you Beth, we (The Bible Study girls from the Bridge) just finished Jesus, The One and Only, today!! What an amazing time we had together walking with Jesus.
Sue, I hope your daughter has a great time at her prom!
Praying, praying, praying for all of you!! Asking Jesus for healing for Curtis, solitude and sweet study time for you and your big toe) and getting back to “normal” for Amanda. I know she misses her home and her babies. You are the best mom and Bibby!!!
I lifted him up to the Lord (along with Amanda, AB, Jackson & [of course] yourself). Hang in there, Bibby. You’re doing a great job.
You know that God knew all of this was going to happen. And of course, He is working while you are being a grandma. That is your priority right now and He is going to bless you for it.
My prayers are with you all. Praying Curtis will turn the corner today and even has in this writing. Praying for strength, wisdom, and patience during this time of healing. Beth, praying God’s divine deposit in your heart and mind for this Saturday. I know how much this book has SO blessed my life; I know whatever you are lead to speak will touch many lives as well. I have badly sprained my little baby toe before and it is SO painful. You are really being a good sport, between that and your back. Hope that is getting better as well. Let us know sometime how that is. We have you in our hearts, all your family. Blessings, Amanda 🙂 Olive Branch, MS
Just finished “So Long…” 4:24 pm EST/Florida and cannot wait for Saturday! I will attend with my Univ. of FL daughter. It is amazing we have survived this many years together considering the combined concentration of insecuirty we have lugged around. We are looking forward to releasing all that pressure on the 24th. If you are anywhere near Gainesville, Fl., duck! Am praying for a new season of security for all of God’s beautiful daughters and women everywhere.
Smashing a pinkie toe is some serious pain. My 17 yr. old son smacked his pinkie toe into a door jam in our den a couple of weeks ago….he didn’t cuss either, he just passed out cold!! Scared me half to death.
See you Saturday. Love & prayers continuously…..
my man always reminds me that you don’t know us and you couldn’t possibly love us…i always tell him.. “yes she does..and she would love you too, cept you don’t blog..” 😆
I’m praying for you and your family. My sister’s appendix did the same thing a few years ago…while she was on a plane returning from Bermuda! She was a very sick chick. We, too, know how scary this time can be, waiting for temps to go down and yucky infection to leave the body.
On a much happier note, I can hardly wait for the simulcast on Saturday. I’m headed there with two very dear friends and mentors who help me along my insecure path, just as you have Beth! Can’t wait to see what God has in store for that day.
God’s blessings on you and the Jones family
Praying for all ya’ll.
Lord, I’m reminded at times like these that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. You know right now what Curtis needs, what Amanda needs, what Beth needs, what Jackson and Annabeth need. We know you are IN this situation and all we can do is trust You, thank You, and Praise You!
Curtis, May our God of perfect peace and provision fill you will both tonight. May life and health and healing flow into your body like a mighty rushing river. May your life and ministry be blessed by what is a hardship today. May your prayers be answered early and your life continue to bring Him glory. We love you. Shalom.
praying for you all but esp. CJ. Hard time for you all, Erin
I continue to pray for a speedy recovery for Curtis. And that Beth would be able to wear sassy shoes at the event this weekend despite a broken toe.
Looking forward to Altanta!
I am praying for your family and for your preparation for Saturday! Much love to you and your family. I am so thankful for you Beth. I consider you a mentor, my big sister in the Lord!
Praying for Curtis and the simulcast! Can’t wait to see you Saturday!
Love,
Kristin
Praying hard here in TN! I know God will come through for you, the Joneses and all of us waiting in anticipation of what He has in store for us on Saturday. I love you all and I know you love me too! 🙂 Expecting good news soon….
Dana in Halls, TN
I am honored that you let us pray for you and your family. Rest assured, that is just what I am doing. I love you.
Still praying for Curtis, Amanda, Bibby and the Jones clan. Also praying for a renewed, refreshing rest for you as soon as Nana arrives. Please know that we will be lifting you all up to the Father as you and the whole LPM team prepare for Saturday. I wish I could attend but not this time.
Oh Beth!!!! You should know that our book study group (three of us) started discussing how your hair will be styled on Saturday. Had no idea your little toe was broken. Sorry for being so shallow, I’m sure your hair will be fabulous regardless!!! We love you (I feel like I’m speaking for every single one of us that will be in that sanctuary on Saturday) and cannot wait to hear what the Lord has for His girls. Praying for your family for much needed rest…you are going on vacation after this, right?
Love you and see you Saturday at First Assembly of God in Cedar Rapids, Iowa!
Praying for you all! I just had a chance to sit down and update myself with blog posts. I’ve been enjoying every second of time with our son who is home from Afghanistan! He returns to his post in Alaska tomorrow. Looking forward to the Simulcast on Saturday!
I am praying for CJ and for the weekend. I know God has this in control. I pray that that white blood count goes down and the fever stays normal. Praying rest and peace for all involved.
I have been where Amanda is now many times. My husband has suffered health issues since we have been married (namely Crohns). I have left my children before to care for him also. God is a glorious comforter and truly His strength is MADE perfect in our weakness.
Was just praying for Curtis and the whole gang (which it takes when there are children in the mix) on my way home from work and was hoping he was better. I am going to keep up my request – Father, get him over the hump and let him heal quicker than the doctors think is possible.
I am so sorry to miss this Saturday’s Simulcast. I did the on-line book thing with all the other Siestas, but I have reservations for the Women of Joy conference this weekend in Branson, MO. I have never heard Kay Arthur in person before, so I am pumped! It is incredible how one can be so excited about one conference 🙂 and so forlorn at the same time about another one 🙁 . Sometimes I wish I could clone myself so I could get everyone’s Bible conferences at the same time.
Praying steadily for Curtis’ healing,
Valerie Eades
