Sisters, I just thought I’d better shoot you a quick update. I told you earlier today (see previous post) that CJ was getting better but he’s back up to 103 degrees with an elevating white count. They’ve just put in a call to his doctor. Thank you so much for your concern. We are humbled that you’d join us on this journey and expend the extra energy for intercession. I’ll let you know something some time tomorrow.
And, since so many of you mentioned the simulcast, please know that I, too, am super excited about Saturday and counting on God to come through for us. Your anticipation fuels mine! I trust Him to settle my mind about the Joneses in time to have at least forty-eight hours of solitude leading up to the event. I got in a couple of hours of study today while AB was napping and Jackson was at Mother’s Day Out. If, for any reason, we’re still turned upside down around here, I also trust God to show His strength in our weakness. He’s preparing for Saturday even while I’m keeping these babies. Their Nana will be on her way Thursday and God willing (and I know that He is), I’ll see you then! It’s by no means up in the air.
You are precious to us.
We’ll do a roll call on Friday to see which Siestas are attending and from which locations. I guess you know by now that I love roll calls! I dearly love to imagine you in all your walks of life and all your cities and towns around the country doing the same kind of thing on the same day in Jesus’ great Name. Most of all, I think He loves it. (Which reminds me, it’s almost time for Siesta Summer Bible Study III! Stay tuned for more information. Yes, I’ve already chosen a specific series. I’ll tell you which one in May.)
OK, both kids are in bed and the dishwasher’s going. I’m going to set my broken toe up for a while. Grin. I love you. (Btw, an adult son of one of our Siestas got word to me recently that his mother swears and declares that I really do love her. And she’s right.)
Praying for Curtis….Vividly remember when I was 5 months pregnant, on my way home from Disney and my appendix exploded…A strange hospital, strange doctor, major surgery and infection. Then a miracle…a healthy beautiful who girl who is now 28 and named Amanda….praying that Curtis feels better soon…
Beth, you are hilarious. Love the way you get to do some hair fixin’with Annabeth. Very important for us girls! Had a dream last night that I sat at a table with you and we spoke face to face. I was surprised that I wasn’t a blubbering mess. Hoping to have you visit us in Australia SOON!!! We love you Down Under too
Ah Beth it’s so good to hear from you. My sister and I were talking about not seeing a blog posting from you in over a week and that is not like you. So we knew something was going on. So sorry to hear CJ is still spiking fevers, and that you broke your toe. Praying God’s blessing and healing over you and the entire family. So excited that Simulcast Saturday is almost here. I wish I were going to be in Atlanta with all the siestas but time and distance kept me here. But I will be watching in a nearby church. Hope your week gets better every day.
Love and hugs

Praying for Curtis and the entire Jones family!
Love you, Siesta Mama!!
Praying for Curtis and all of you. Satan seems to be on a ripping rampage right now in many of our lives.

Lifting you all up in prayer. I am still very moved over your teaching last week in Tampa on family. I am meditating over God’s Word and I have a new sense of HOPE and JoY. May The Healer touch Curtis and give Him complete healing and strength for the week. I am going to the simulcast in our local area and can’t wait for this timely message on security!! It’s ALL HIM Praise His Holy Name. Love you all so much.
I will definitely pray for Curtis and Amanda, and also the little ones!
I am so happy to hear there will be another Bible Study this summer. This school year has been so crazy that I have had to put So Long Insecurity aside, but I WILL finish it!
Thanks for all you do Beth!

Morning!
I just saw you this past weekend at Idlewild! I will be attending the Naples…(oh my, did I just type, the Naples?! LOL Where’s the coffee?) I will be at New Hope in Naples, FL!
I was really blessed by your words this last weekend. I was able to deeply relate on a personal level!
Praying for you, to have a fabulous and blessed day!

Praying for Curtis — and the rest of the family!
I am praying, KNOWING what God CAN DO. I believe He can do what He says He can do.
Lovingly, Karen Twombly
This happened to my FIL several years ago–was touch and go for a while, but eventually the medications did their work. We also serve a God Who we all know can override anything. “O Great Physician, I ask that You reach down and touch Curtis’s body with Your healing touch and moreover, grant to the family members the grace, peace and rest from knowing he is in Your Hands. Now to Him Who is able to do so much more than we can imagine or ask, to Him be the glory forever, Amen.”
Beth, I recently felt tangibly the effects of intercessory prayer. May you all know this this very day.
Love, Sita

All these setbacks give God even more a chance to do His thing!
Praying for all!

Oh no!! My man’s out of town so I haven’t had time on the computer and have just now caught up. Will definitely be praying for all of your sweet family! Sad that I can’t attend the simulcast but hoping for some sort of event next fall or even in 2011 when our family is on stateside assignment! Hugs and prayers to all your family!
Oh, Beth, y’all are definitely in my heart and in my prayers right now!
BTW, you’ve probably already done so, but just tape your toe to the next one so it can’t move — that’s all a doctor can do anyway. I’ve been there.
Don’t forget to place a cottonball between the toes prior to taping to absorb moisture, otherwise you will wear a blister between the toes
Praying for Curtis and believing God to bring a healing today that will leave no other explanation other than it was all God!! Also, praying for you and your broken toe and study preparation!!
Love you,
Patty
Siesta Mama … your doing such a wonderful thing for the Joneses and God is must assuradly going to take all that you are doing and pour Himself into you on Saturday to bring us a now word!…
I will stand in agreement with all of my siestas here in siestaville that Curtis will get better so that he can come home to his precious children. Lord wrap your loving arms around that sweet daddy so that he can come home to Jackson and Annabeth.
Love you Siesta Mama and can’t wait to see the simulcast … oh what a wonderful God we have!
Lichelle
Beth, I just have to say I LOVE you! In the midst of my crazy world of homeschooling my 2 kids and watching 3 others, you bring me such JOY, draw me back to my crazy love for my Lord, and help me to remember what is REAL and RIGHT about this journey I am on! Praying for you and your sweet family!
ALL because of Him and thankful to be in HIS grip!
Aimee
Beth It took our son about a week to get better after he had that. He was 16 at the time and he stay there about 7 days. Will be praying for your family.
Your family is in our prayers! We’re also praying for you for Saturday. I will be attending the Live session and am SO excited! This will be the first time I’ve had the opportunity to see you live. This is coming as we’re just finishing up Breaking Free at my home church. The message and life changing things God has shown me through this are unbelievable! I can’t wait to see/hear what he has for all of us this weekend!
Love and Prayers,
Carrie Ann-Gainesville, Ga.
Praying for all of you and for all of your needs.
Margie
Beth, we are hosting and are so looking forward to Saturday’s simulcast. I’m so sorry you are having such a crazy week, but it’s such a reminder to me that you are really just doing life with the rest of us….not just sitting around with hours of solitude with God just waiting for your next opportunity to speak….You are living everyday life, depending on Him to give you the strength to do what He’s called you to do – in your family and in your ministry! Thank you for gracefully going through and sharing your life with us so that God can, once again, teach us through your experiences! You have no idea how many of us think you really love us!!! And how much we feel like you know we love you too! I will share with my girls and we will be praying for The Joneses and the Moores as this week continues!
Praying for Curtis and all the family…and you Beth as you do “family” and also what God has called you to do
I’ve broken my little toe twice – so painful. Stay off of those high heels, Beth. In fact, I think you’d better do that simulcast in a pair of flip flops. 🙂 LOL!
Praying for Curtis and for all of you.
Praying with you all — for God’s healing grace for Curtis, for God’s fruit of patience and gentleness for all who attend him and those grandbabies, and for God’s incredible resurrection power to shine forth through the LPL team this coming weekend to minister to so many!
I wish I could attend the conference, but I’m SO glad I’ve read the book! It’s almost like seeing you in person 🙂 Chapter 17 was the best — I’ve been rereading it. Thank you so much.
Beth,
Praying for you and your family!
I have been praying since reading Amanda’s post, and just read your update this morning. What a week you all have had! My middle daughter broke her baby toe when my grandson was an infant. It was literally sticking out sideways when I got there. We took her to the ER and they taped it to the next one. If you haven’t already done that, it helps tremendously to keep from re-injuring it.
I’m taking that same daughter with me Saturday to the Simulcast, and we cannot wait! We’re continuing to cover you in prayer. Every one of you!
I woke up just before 2:00 a.m. this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep for a while. As I lay there wide awake the Lord brought Curtis to my mind and I prayed for his body to heal quickly and completely.
Beth, you are certainly in my prayers too as you prepare for this weekend.
How sweet of your LPM family to bring you the yummy dinner. Chicken Spaghetti…..one of my favorites! And a Ding Dong cake!!!! What would we do without family and friends?!!
Love } from Oklahoma,
Valerie
Praying here in Missouri, too!
WOW. Sending another prayer up that CJ will be healed quickly. I know what Amanda is going through. I basically went through the same thing with my husband. My children were almost 2, almost 5 and 8. It was also Christmas time. He was released in time for Christmas Eve after 10 days. He came out of the hospital with a colostomy that he had for 3 months. He went in for his appendix and it was actually a cyst on his colon that had ruptured a few days before. He was one sick person, also. The worst part for him was the tube down the throat to drain the infection. He hated it. I pray that CJ doesn’t have to go through that. Wish I could help but know that God is taking care of everyone. SOOOOOO looking forward to SATURDAY.
I have been praying “all around the situation”…for Curtis’ health, for Amanda as she needs to be at the hospital but is missing her babies, for Melissa as she is frustrated by the separation of the miles, for Curtis’ Mom who knows her son is an adult but she needs to be there and for Beth, who is torn between doing her best job as Mom and Bibby, but has responsibilites awaiting.
Terri
Lord, our Healer, Jehovah Rapha…truly we call upon your mercy and grace on behalf of Curtis. Lord this whole week overshadow this family with your protective grace…Lord, you are God, be God in and over all that have to do with Curtis, Amanda and Jackson and AB…Lord allow your peace overshadow Beth as she prepares for this weekend with us. Lord so much in the heavenlies is going on…thank you that you are bigger and more powerful than any thing the adversary can throw at us…we hold up our shield of faith together and stand side by side clicking our shields in place as one seeking your power though the Holy Spirit in us as we call out your Word against our adversary…we are trusting in you leaning not unto our ouwn understanding, we are acknowleding you in this and seeking your wisdom not being wise in our own eyes but fearing you O God and keeping the commandment that you be honoured and glorified…We love you so, we need you so!!!!
I know this response is a day late, but I so much want you all to know that I am praying for Curtis – for full recovery, and for Amanda – its hard to see your man so sick, and for Beth – we know you love your grandkids and you are a good bibby, but I also know that it is hard going back to being a “momm”… no matter how much you love them. I’m just reminded again… “his strength is made perfect in our weakness”. This is an opportunity to see God do some big things all around.
I’m on my knees.
Heidi
Vicks salve Beth for the broke toe….something your grandmother would have suggested.
I promise it works….
PRAYING FOR THE WHOLE CLAN………..
Praying for Curtis and Amanda (and for Bibby – boy, you’ll be one tired Bibby by the time Sunday morning rolls around). God is so good and so faithful!! Still reading SLI – determined to finish by Saturday morning but you are stepping on my toes terribly 🙂
Just said a prayer for full, complete healing for Curtis. My precious boy (father to two) had a similar issue almost 2 years ago. It is very frightening (humbling?) for these strong young men of faith to realize how frail their bodies are. And for them to realize what precious responsibilities are depending on them at home to get all better. Will continue to pray for Amanda’s strength, the babies’ contentment in their circumstances, safe travel for Curtis’ folks and of course, those who are keeping the home fires burning.
Love to you all – God is sufficient.
Judie, West Texas Girl
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that Curtis is still so sick. I will be praying and praying till I hear otherwise!
A side note… My step-father (who’s from Texas) sent me an email full of pictures of Texas bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush. I had no idea Texas was so beautiful!!!!!
A second side note…. Coming to Philadelphia yet????
Oh, I am lifting all of you in up prayer!
I just got a chance to read your update. I had computer problems yesterday. I am praying that Curtis is much improved this morning.
I loved reading your description of your events with the grandkids. You are awesome!!! I am sorry about your toe. But…I did laugh…I know I’m weird. I am really not sure why it is so funny!!! Even the part about you not really cussing cracks me up. Please forgive me.
Seriously, I am praying that God will give you preparation time and that in those minutes he will deliever you the clearest of messages.
God Bess all of you.
I am praying for CJ’s full recovery. What a painful time. You sound like a great grandmother. I have 10 of those precious things, although only 1 lives in my town, and he’s about to move. This siesta is looking forward so very much to the simulcast Saturday. God bless you and grant you the prep time you desire.
Love to you all.
Dear Beth,
I prayed from Romans 8:26-28 for all of you this morning. I also wanted to let you know that it was a joy having you and all the team in our church home this past weekend. Know that I won’t stop praying for your sweet family or for the ministry coming up this weekend.
Much love to you and yours,
Patti Hayes

Beth: I love you so. I am sitting in the waiting room of our local hospital waiting on my man to “wake up” from tests related to his annual physical. Will say no more except Dr. Just told me all is well. Praying for Curtis and all the family. Good health is a precious gift from God. By the way, I have my So Long Insecurity book in my bag and have had a blast here in the waiting room sharing and holding the book up high for all to see! Secure I am that God will meet us ALL on Saturday. Can’t wait to see you and all the Siestas. We prayed that we wouldn’t see anyone here that we know…to no avail. Last count was two deacons and 3 church members. The nurse was mom of one of our sons friends in high school. My man may not be able to say “So Long Insecurity” till I get him in the car. Pray g for CJ.
much love, GJ
You mommas are so precious and priceless….It’s funny how at 30 years old I’ve needed mine this week just as much as I did when I was 3. I’ve been taken out with a nasty nasty cold and my sweet Momma has just been wonderwoman for me and my 3 kids the past few days.
Will the broken toe alter your shoe options this weekend? -Trying not to pray selfishly..really need a spark this weekend.
Praying for all needs….Can’t wait for summer study topic and for Saturday. Will roll call on Friday.
PRAYING for each one of you…Precioius Jesus, Our Healer, Our Help in time of need!!!
My husband went through the same thing when our oldest was 4 months old…you are on my heart…Love, Tammy in SD
Praying for your family and so looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!!! Atlanta here we come!
