Some WP Hints and the LPL Tucson Recap

A few bits of randomness this morning:

-When you leave a comment, you only need to fill in the web site field if you have a blog or personal web site that you’d like people to be able to visit when they click on your name. If you don’t have one, you can just leave it blank.

-Feel free to use whatever screen name you were previously using in the name field.

-Our old avatars (pictures) aren’t showing up here because WordPress does not recognize our Blogger/Google accounts. Several siestas have recommended going to Gravatar.com to get a free universally recognized avatar to use. I think we all miss seeing the beautiful faces next to the comments!

-Did you know that you can respond directly to another siesta’s comment by clicking “reply” underneath her comment? (Otherwise, you’ll just scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the comment box.)

-Unfortunately, we lost the comments that were left on the blog over the weekend. I’m so sorry about that. Please feel free to type your comment again if you would like to.

-Did you know that Rich, our wonderful Living Proof Live photographer, and his wife just had their first baby? She was born a few days before the Toronto conference. (That’s why we didn’t have a recap video for that event.) Rich has promised to send me some pictures of Baby Polly to share on the blog. She is beautiful! In the meantime, please enjoy the Living Proof Live Tucson recap video. Thanks, Rich!

Oh siestas, I just watched the Tucson video and was thrilled. It only enriched my deep desire to attend the Grand Rapids event in May. If I could ask, please pray that God would provide a way for me to go. I am unemployed and everyday I hunger to go and not miss this event. I know I must trust His provision and timing. He knows best. I trust you Lord!!!

Sweet girl, email me ([email protected]). I WISH I could go too. But time and distance won’t allow it at this moment. I will be thrilled to be able to purchase a ticket for you to go though! It will be my honor! I’ll feel (through you) that I myself was priviledged enough to attend it! God is GOoD.. and there’s nothing like His reviving Word!

Praise the LORD – Our Kingfor the example of TUSCAN and for the blessing in Heaven that arrived . . . I also enjoy the new blog! I just desire to be OBSESSED with HIM in worship!

Thank you for the Tucson recap- I am always “struck” with the way our Lord moves through your mother and all of you at LPM when you minister to the thousands of women in your audiences- WOW- it is a privilege to have been introduced to the LPM ministry. What an awesome and amazing witness. The humility, love and grounded manner in which you minister to women sets a “divine” example for each of us. God bless you and yours and may you receive in abundance the blessings you give us. Kathy, Austin

    Amanda,
Thanks for the randomness this morning! You answered two of my questions about the new blog, so I think I’ll be able to keep up! ‘Moore’ ladies, have a beautiful day!! Siestaville, I hope your weather is as beautiful as it is in the Houston area–if not, make it a Son-shine day and know we’re thinking of you!

Love the new blog. Usually, I’m just a reader and pray-er but I had to come out from the shadows and say how much I love the new look.

I also love what your new book is doing for women, Beth. Amazing. It may be one of the most significant contributions for the spiritual well being of us Jesus girls ever.

Hi, Lysa! My Tuesday night neighborhood Bible study group just completed your Becoming More Than Just A Good Bible Study Girl. One of the ladies from the group and myself have been reading Beth’s SLI book at the same time we were working through your study. WHOA! My heart is overflowing with thanksgiving to God for enabling both you and Beth to reach tens of thousands of women through modern technology, to teach and encourage us to love Jesus more, to daily seek Him through His Word, and to live life passionately and obediently — for His glory and for the good of others. “For such a time as this!”

The new site looks great, Amanda. I think I’m going to like the reply feature especially. I can hardly wait for LPL at my very own church (Idlewild – Lutz, Florida)in a few weeks. I’m hoping among other things to get to meet some of my siestas and to be able to put some names with faces. Thanks for all your hard work.

I’m in Orlando. How did I miss that there’s an event near here??? When is it and are there still tickets available?

      • Patti says:

To answer your question, LPL will be at Idlewild Baptist church in Lutz, Florida, April 16 & 17. Lutz is a part of the Tampa Bay area just north of Tampa. As the tickets are sold out, my only suggestion is to give a shout out among Siestaville to see if anyone has a ticket they will be unable to use. You might also try clicking on the registration information at Lifeway’s site.

So, does anyone have tickets you are unable to use?

I hope all of you have a blessed day,
        Patti Hayes

    This one’s for Rich-

Congratulations on Ms. Polly’s arrival! Nothing sweeter than a new life for Easter. Hope both your girls are doing well. She’s got a mighty nation to pray for her now. Trust in that.

    Secondly,
I need to confess how much I loved this video. This is significant b/c I’m always the girl who sits as close to the videographer as possible b/c that way I can’t be caught on film and I’m free to worship with abandon! Your eye found the most beautiful faces of all ages and colors, the most beautiful hands raised, the most beautiful silouettes against the light, the most beautiful hearts bent. Makes me the think that if that’s what you see (and more important-can make “us” see about ourselves and each other), just imagine the beauty that our Heavenly Father sees in us.

    Thank you for the glimpse.

How many saw the 3-D image of Jesus that was done using the Shroud of Turin on the History Channel after last night’s Bible study?! AMAZING! I know it can’t be proven that this IS the image of Jesus, but the facts sure do line up, for the most part – pierced side, crown of thorns, no broken leg, also scourged before being crucified. I would have given him reddish-brown hair & blue eyes, as Josephus wrote, but other than that, He looks very much like I picture Him. CHILLS~

    I’d love to know Beth’s & other siesta’s thoughts on this matter…

Hey! I am new to Living Proof and this blog. Just wanted to say thanks to Beth for all she does. I am currently in the Newly Updated Breaking Free Bible study, and am reading So Long Insecurity at the same time! God has been preparing me for a while for both. I am learning so much. Thank you Living Proof and Beth for being vessels of Christ. He has changed my life, and I can’t wait to see what all He accomplishes through the last half of the study and book!

I think you will like the move to wordpress. I’ve been studying and working on doing bible study blogging and am so excited that I get to participate in this study with so many women. One of the downsides I found with blogger is that we couldn’t really create a conversation with the other siestas about their comments. I love wordpress because it has the reply button and you can directly reply to a comment and they are notified of that comment. It creates more of a conversation between bloggers and makes blogging a little more personal. The site looks great! You guys always do such an awesome job!

My first car was a Geo Storm 1992 model, I believe. I have a terrible memory of most details so the year could be wrong. =) Anyway, I saw the car on the lot (used, of course) and loved it. My parents loved the price. The only problem was that it was a stick and no one had ever taught me how to drive one. So the sales guy took me out and taught me how to drive a stick and we took the car home that day.

Beth, I was SO HAPPY you stopped at my friend Kim and her baby, Izzabel and gave them such a loving welcome by rubbing Izzabel’s head. Kim almost cancelled the night before because she had never been to one of your events and was so afraid of offending someone by taking the baby. She dreaded someone “snickering” behind her back and being irritated that she had her nursing baby there. I convinced her to come and told her Izzabel would be very welcomed. She did her best to trust me and stepped out on faith -but still very insecure about it. Then you completely affirmed her and Izzabel when you stopped and spoke to them. You didn’t know it but I’m certain God used that to minister to Kim. He is so good, isn’t He? Satan almost robbed her of the weekend and God was victorious. Then, He went out of His way to show that He had a plan for Kim to be there! Praise Him!

What a wonderful time it was! The last one I was able to attend was Deeper Still in Atlanta. This one in Tucson was MUCH smaller, but in so many ways, I loved that it was. I just love all of you, Beth, Travis, praise team, Rich and Lifeway volunteers. You are such a good example of what God will do when we’re willing to be used and obedient.
    Much love,
    Jaime

I hate that Satan was working on Kim, making her self-conscious about bringing her baby! (I took my 10-day old to LPL in San Antonio in 2008 and didn’t regret a moment of it, except I was maybe a bit uncomfortable, but it was SO worth it when God ministered to my wounded soul!) I’m so thankful that God ministered to Kim in that way!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

The weekend in Tuscon was an unexpected fabulous refreshment! I mentioned it to my husband Friday morning, Had forgotten actually, and had lots of work to do, but he said let’s go! So we packed the car for 2 1/2 hour drive, brought the dog, and my husband and dog hung at the hotel while I worshipped and was refreshed! We found an amazing pizza place before going home Saturday – an all around great surprise weekend.
Beth – the teaching in 1 Cor 15 was perfectly timed for allowing Resurrection power every single day!

    Christine Murray says:

Hi, all! I was so blessed to be able to go to Tucson for LPL last weekend, and I really wanted to share with you some parts of my trip that have left me stunned.

When I got to the airport in San Antonio, the check-in line was horrendously long and very slow-moving. When I was pulled out of line to get checked in, I was told my bag would DEFINITELY not make it to Tucson, and I would be “lucky” to get on the flight. I asked her to try anyway. I ran (in kitten heels, no less) to security, through a few God-given openings, I got through security amazingly quickly, only to run again to the last gate in the terminal. When I got there, the door was closed, and there wasn’t even a person working there! I stopped to figure out what to do (and to catch my breath!). A man waiting for another flight mentioned that many people had run to catch this flight. Then he suggested I ask the woman working at the gate next to mine to radio someone for me. She was quickly annoyed when nobody seemed to understand her. She asked me where my final destination was, and when I told her “Tucson” she frantically grabbed the phone, telling someone that this was my only way to get to Tucson that day. Then she just said, “Come with me.” She left her post, taking me down my own jetway. At the end, seeing it was pulled away from the airplane, she said, “You’ll have to take the stairs.” At the bottom of the stairs, on the tarmac, we turned the corner to see the airplane door closing. This sweet woman ran up to it and pounded on the airplane door! The flight attendants opened the door slightly, and this woman pleaded on my behalf to let me on this flight. They put the stairs down for me and allowed me on, then asked what seat I was in. I said, “17C, but I’ll sit anywhere.” The flight attendant just said, “Please sit in first class so that I don’t have to re-do the paperwork.” Are you kidding me???? During the flight, the other flight attendant told me a couple of times, “THAT never happens!”

Since I had just seen Session 9 from Breaking Free, I just cried and told God, “I love you, too!” Then I felt God’s love on me as I watched the sunrise over the clouds.

Oh, and my suitcase was the 7th bag off the conveyor in Tucson!

The praise music and the teaching that Beth brought us were AMAZING!!! From 1 Corinthians 15 I learned: “Because the tomb is empty, everything for the believer’s life was meant to be FULL!” “The goal for my life is that God is my all in all!” “Stone-rolling power is ours for victory.” And be STEADFAST! (…among other things)

Oh, and my flight out of Tucson? I was on the same flight as Travis Cottrell, the praise team, and many of the Lifeway employees. I had the opportunity to thank the 3 women who sang and Travis for their hard work and how blessed we were through their gifts.

And just last week I was asking God to fill me with His love … And He did, to overflowing!!

I’m sorry for this long message, but I couldn’t help but share this. I really think there was some spiritual warfare around my getting to Tucson, but God was determined for me to be there! Please pray that as I review my notes and memories that I’m able to fully absorb what God was teaching me.

The point I keep playing over and over in my mind from LPL in Tucson was just the one you mentioned… because of the resurrection power of Christ, ONLY the tomb is empty! Everything else in life is full because the tomb was empty! Love that and am treasuring it and keeping it close! Wish I knew you! ๐Ÿ™‚
