I’M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE EARLY FLIGHT WORKED! THANK YOU FOR PRAYING, SIESTAS! My man is so cute.
Hey, you Sweet Things!
How’s your weekend going? I have checked back into a hotel in Toronto. The first leg of my flight got cancelled and it’s a tad hard to catch that second leg without it. I got to the airport really early because one of the young women on the LifeWay event team had an earlier flight. It’s also Spring Break here so the Nashville team felt like we’d better not take any chances in case the airport was super crowded. After wandering around a while, I finally meandered to my gate. Not very long after that, the dude at the counter announced that my flight was cancelled and, due to overcrowding, there were no more available flights today.
The Lord and I just had a long dinner at the hotel restaurant. I’m not sure what He ate but I got a New York strip. Yep, in Toronto. I was so hungry! No, I don’t usually eat that way but during events, my stomach is too wonky to eat many normal meals. When it’s over, I have a one-track mind: F.O.O.D.
I am full of praise to Him. He gave us such a neat group here in Canada. This was our first LPL of 2010. We were delighted to have it here. God knew in advance I’d be recovering from surgery and would need to start the travel schedule later in the year than usual. Many months ago, long before I had any kind of health scare, He led the event planners to schedule our kick-off later in the new year than we’d ever started before. He’s so brilliant.
We had 3300 beautiful faces lighting up that arena this weekend and most of them were Canadian sisters. I wish you could have heard them sing. Many times Travis and the team stepped back from their microphones and let the women’s voices fill the house with God’s glory. We had an invitation like we always do and, though we hope they’ll come let us know if they received Jesus as Savior, we don’t pressure them to tell us. Today something happened that we’ve never experienced in 12 LPL years. In that raging sea of estrogen, A MAN actually came forward to receive Christ. Hold up. That’s not all. He was one of the security guards. How about that??? Does God love that guy or what? I didn’t get to talk to him but Kelly, one of our darling young event team members, did. If she hadn’t been so cute about it, I might have been jealous. As it was, I couldn’t take that from her for anything. What a memory that one will be! Lord, please grant him an unusual, contagious love for You and a voracious appetite for Your Word.
Well, your Siesta Mama is one tired woman. Pray me out tomorrow, you wild-praying-thangs. They are expecting the same weather tomorrow. The rest of the team got out okay this evening and I’m thankful for that. They’d had lots of problems on the inbound flight so I’m not bitter. I just miss that man of mine. I’m so homesick for him. I came in a day early so it seems so much longer than usual. Anyway, tomorrow will be here before I know it. I’ve got two different flights booked in hopes of getting out on one! Thank you, Michelle, my dear Hawk, for all your hard work this afternoon from Houston. You surely didn’t get a Saturday afternoon off! May God give you a double portion of rest in Him tomorrow. Your boss loves you.
Ok, Sweet Things, I’ll talk to you soon. Thanks for letting me chat with you for a little while. I was the teeniest bit lonesome.
I’m going to text my man. I love it when he texts me back.
Oh, and don’t forget, tomorrow is time-change Sunday. Spring forward!

Beth,it's a shame that you had to be alone at a Toronto hotel when your 3000+ LPL attendees would have given an arm and a leg to have you over at our humble homes. We love you that much.
I know I am so late to respond to this post – I have been trying not to – but it seems that the Holy Spirit is just deciding to turn me every which way but loose – I have been there before – so thought I had just better write (not to get it over with) but in hopes that it will spur myself and others to prompt obedience when we feel the nudge of the spirit.
Saturday, March 13 I was outdoors – it was a beautiful early spring day here in Oregon my new puppy and I were paying fetch and other games of run and chase (you get the picture) anyway – I had been in prayer for the LPL event but I felt a definite need to pray right then, and specifically for the "alter call" – I didn't know exactly why – I didn't need to know that – I was flooded with the thought of “abundance” an overflow if you will of women coming forward – and in my own I tried to think of the “reason” for the specific prayer – but realized I would probably never know – but I needed to be praying and that I did.
I have been blessed to be to several LPL events (my daughter and I schedule one every year as a time to be together) It has been profound over the years to look into her beautiful face and “commission” each other and simply take in and be washed with the water of The Word and refreshed in the worship… so I could transport myself into that arena and just hold up my hands and pray… then to find out that God delivered a man – a security guard into His kingdom… wow! I shared with my husband the next morning at our devotional time and he was so tender towards it – we have been praying for that security guard all this week – Thank you for the opportunity to partner in ministry. We have that wonderful ability to be a part of God’s great work – we don’t need to be out on the front lines – we just need to be faithful to where we are called and to what we are called. Well – there you go – that is my story – God is so good and His plans are beyond anything I can come up. Thank you for the opportunity to share even this and I pray that it will be an encouragement.
Now – can you believe it – it is another beautiful day here in Southern Oregon – I need to get out with my puppy again – God is teaching me more that I want to know right now raising a puppy… my rebellion comes out in this statement… “what on earth – I am a grandma .. what am I thinking raising a puppy?” Even that to Gods glory – He has such a great sense of humor – I know he is laughing with me and not at me! Every moment is a teachable moment! All for Jesus ~ Malinda Wilson/Grants Pass, OR
Beth, I finally caught a Wednesday morning clip of you on James and Betty and just have to ask,has anyone told you lately that you are ADORABLE? You are adorable and getting to see your show is a perk of present, hopefully temporary, unemployment.
Ok, I just finished my SLI work and will got to that blog, but I thought this might not be appropriate for it, and I had to tell you somewhere, YOU ARE ADORABLE!! I gotta do what a brave person would do…good stuff.
Wow Beth – I am from Colorado and was in Toronto last week for work. I came home Friday, but had I known you were doing a conference, I would have delayed and hung out to worship God with you! Can I tell you a story to go with the insecurity stuff? My client has a sister and brother-in-law who wrote a play, called…are you ready???? "My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding" – and based on a true story! And I was treated to the play and felt too insecure to say no. You know what I ended up doing? I prayed for each of them! And really, content aside, the play was about real human fear, insecurity, and just how lost people can get. So maybe God wanted me in that seat praying? I might have been the only one! Glad you got home safe. I would have just been beside myself if you would have been in that airport on Friday instead of Saturday and I would have seen you.
Cheers!
Shelly

My heart still skips a beat when my sweet husband calls me and I nearly faint with joy when he sends me a text. I save all his emails too. I thank God for allowing me to love and be loved and to love both.

Praise God you have arrived home safely. It was great to have you here in Toronto and sorry the weather (altough you are used to it in "Uston") was not better. It is 18 degrees celsius here today and God is just shining His glory down all over us! Thank you for coming to us wweet Beth and team (Michelle you are a real energizer bunny!!!!) Much love to you from "Toronna" – we loved having you, Travis and all the LPL team as our guest and Siestas!
HI Beth… I had such a great time at your conference… I invited some sisters from an Orthodox church and was worried that they wouldn't like it, but one of my girlfriends just kept thanking me for inviting her… At one point I thought to myself.. I wish she was Canadian.. but then I realized you wouldn't be Beth if you were! thank you for such an awesome time! God bless, Jenny.
Beth – I saw back in 2007 that you would post the commission that was said at the end of LPL event… I would love to have a written copy of what you said at the end of the event in Toronto… any chance you (or someone) could post it?
Thanks! I'm still reliving last weekend (it seems a long time ago now)… and still praying (and praising) for God to continue His NEW work in me. 🙂

Just so Glad you came to Toronto Beth, you were awesome. Life changing for me and I thank you so very much! Plus, I was able to buy your new book, CD's and all sorts of good things to read!
God so speaks to me through you, more than you could ever know!
I am so thankful that you finally got home. The weather here was not so nice. But spring is on the way!
Blessings to you and your team Beth!
Dear Beth, Thanks so much for coming to Toronto! I have had the privilege of participating in 9 of your studies over the past nine years at our church. The first one I ever did was Breaking Free and that changed my life. LPL in Toronto was what God knew I needed in my life. The last 8 months I have been in a valley and only could see a huge mountain in front of me. That mountain is less ominous now after hearing what God had laid on your heart. Travis and the worship team were amazing and brought me to the throne to lay it before Him! God has started a NEW THING. Please pray for me as I really want to continue with what I learned this weekend with you! Plesae come again to Canada, we really appreciate your love for the Lord and your ministry.
Thanks again.
Blessings to you and your family,
Sandra
I feel far more people need to read this, incredibly excellent info.
