Good God-times and Cancelled Flights Home

I’M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE EARLY FLIGHT WORKED! THANK YOU FOR PRAYING, SIESTAS! My man is so cute.

Hey, you Sweet Things!

How’s your weekend going? I have checked back into a hotel in Toronto. The first leg of my flight got cancelled and it’s a tad hard to catch that second leg without it. I got to the airport really early because one of the young women on the LifeWay event team had an earlier flight. It’s also Spring Break here so the Nashville team felt like we’d better not take any chances in case the airport was super crowded. After wandering around a while, I finally meandered to my gate. Not very long after that, the dude at the counter announced that my flight was cancelled and, due to overcrowding, there were no more available flights today.

The Lord and I just had a long dinner at the hotel restaurant. I’m not sure what He ate but I got a New York strip. Yep, in Toronto. I was so hungry! No, I don’t usually eat that way but during events, my stomach is too wonky to eat many normal meals. When it’s over, I have a one-track mind: F.O.O.D.

I am full of praise to Him. He gave us such a neat group here in Canada. This was our first LPL of 2010. We were delighted to have it here. God knew in advance I’d be recovering from surgery and would need to start the travel schedule later in the year than usual. Many months ago, long before I had any kind of health scare, He led the event planners to schedule our kick-off later in the new year than we’d ever started before. He’s so brilliant.

We had 3300 beautiful faces lighting up that arena this weekend and most of them were Canadian sisters. I wish you could have heard them sing. Many times Travis and the team stepped back from their microphones and let the women’s voices fill the house with God’s glory. We had an invitation like we always do and, though we hope they’ll come let us know if they received Jesus as Savior, we don’t pressure them to tell us. Today something happened that we’ve never experienced in 12 LPL years. In that raging sea of estrogen, A MAN actually came forward to receive Christ. Hold up. That’s not all. He was one of the security guards. How about that??? Does God love that guy or what? I didn’t get to talk to him but Kelly, one of our darling young event team members, did. If she hadn’t been so cute about it, I might have been jealous. As it was, I couldn’t take that from her for anything. What a memory that one will be! Lord, please grant him an unusual, contagious love for You and a voracious appetite for Your Word.

Well, your Siesta Mama is one tired woman. Pray me out tomorrow, you wild-praying-thangs. They are expecting the same weather tomorrow. The rest of the team got out okay this evening and I’m thankful for that. They’d had lots of problems on the inbound flight so I’m not bitter. I just miss that man of mine. I’m so homesick for him. I came in a day early so it seems so much longer than usual. Anyway, tomorrow will be here before I know it. I’ve got two different flights booked in hopes of getting out on one! Thank you, Michelle, my dear Hawk, for all your hard work this afternoon from Houston. You surely didn’t get a Saturday afternoon off! May God give you a double portion of rest in Him tomorrow. Your boss loves you.

Ok, Sweet Things, I’ll talk to you soon. Thanks for letting me chat with you for a little while. I was the teeniest bit lonesome.

I’m going to text my man. I love it when he texts me back.

Oh, and don’t forget, tomorrow is time-change Sunday. Spring forward!

On behalf of the folks from Toronto (aka Toron-no ๐Ÿ™‚ we thank your LifeWay/Living Proof team for all that was accomplished this weekend. From my end of things, it was nothing but a blessing.

Beth – thank you for expounding the Word in ways that help us latch on His strength and not any earthly vessel.

I came this weekend with a lot of hurdles to cross in the next coming weeks and months. With the Holy Spirit's enabling, fears and anxiety for the decisions I need to make were quenched and squashed. So Praise God for the annointing He has given your team and your message.

May you have a safe, blessed and timely journey home to your hubby and family.

Thank you and your team for coming up to Canadian soil – we welcome you back again,
    Heidi ๐Ÿ™‚

Beth I just want to tell you that I saw you on Life Today Friday, March 12, 2010 (I never want to forget that date) and your words changed my life FOREVER. I don't even really know how to explain it other than I just knew that what I had just heard changed me, my outlook on my future, my past, what I've been battling currently…all of it changed. Satan lost a battle. He knows it, I know it and I want the world to know it! The thing that amazes me is how peacefully, quietly, simply and instintly the chains fell away and clarity settled into my exhausted mind. Thank you seems to small a phrase but could not be more heartfelt….Thank you!

What an incredible time at the Living Proof Live event. Thanks to all, espeically Travis (and team) and Beth – it was a delight to soak in the Word of God and hear him speak so clearly this weekend through your teaching. We came with a group from Orangeville of close to 40 women and arrived back to SNOW tonight! A fitting end to our time and reminder that we have been washed whiter than snow, forgiven indeed! He IS doing a new thing!
Beth, there were so many God moments but one in particular as I looked into the eyes of a precious friend and sister in Christ at the end of our time together (we have been through much together), I wondered if it would be possible to get a written version of what you had us repeat outloud. I was so overcome with emotion – it was a turning point in my life and God brought healing as I spoke 'out loud' and proclaimed truth.
Thank you so very much for coming to Toronto. I do hope you had a good cup of coffee with that steak! I so enjoyed your sense of humour, your stories, your passion and love for Jesus that overflows as only the Spirit of God can do in a life. I am always left saying and praying,'I WANT what she has Lord', each time I hear you talk about our Jesus. I can relate so very much to your life journey, that's for being the real deal, genuine, sincere and humble before women and our God. God alone has redeemed our lives from the pit and crowned us with love and compassion – praise Him. May He strengthen you and refresh you in these next days. Thrilled to hear of this security guard – big Wow.
    With heartfelt thanks, Julianne

Sweetest Beth, I cannot tell you how excited I was to see you posted about the event! I got on here with a hopeful heart that you had! That is so awesome that a security guard came forward! When I was at the Memphis event, I sat right behind one of the security girls and I had the opportunity to talk with her about the subject matter the whole time, you could tell she was searching! I always think it must be a wild surprise for these sweet workers when we get into the Word and I always hope they are just smitten with the Word after!!

I am sad you are stuck in Toronto! My husband traveled this week and he too was sitting for hours upon hours in the airport here in Dallas waiting to get out and it was a LONG day to say the least!

Sure do love you! Honestly there isn't a day gone by I wish I knew you knew how loved you are!

    Bless you and your family!!

I was just checking in on the blog. Sorry to hear about your travel problems. ๐Ÿ™ I love the way you talk about Jesus. (You're not sure what he had for dinner…LOL) What a great reminder of how real and personal He is. I am in Mississippi tonight with my three little boys. We are visiting their Memaw & PawPaw. We head back to Texas on Tuesday. I am missing my husband in Iraq. He's due home in 5 more months. God has been so good to us during this time of separation. I hope you sleep well tonight. I am praising & thanking God for what He did in u this week through Life Today. I, too, saw the clips all week of "a beautiful mind". I have been studying quite intensely under Beth for several years, getting more & more free. But that series-that incredible series- is special. There is something so pheonominal and huge about those 5 hrs of teaching. If u haven't bought it, u should! I saves for weeks to get the money. Best money I've spent on Beth stuff yet!!!! I bless u, Mary, as u walk n the freedom of a sound mind. Whoo-eeeee. "There just ain't no high like the most high!" (that's a Beth quote). Enjoy freedom!

To the person who said she struggles with (sort of) idolizing Beth, that's a challenge of mine, as well. I love that chickie so darned much! Because of Woman's Heart, I TRULY understood the Lord. For about 10 years I was Jonesin' for that woman soooo bad until the church held a women's group where there are several studies simultaneously (huge church) and they had both Freedom and Esther….what to do!? LOL I chose Freedom and I can't WAIT for that study every week. But, because of Beth, I learn not to hold her up but Jesus as she is just sharing his words (in the most beautiful way anyone ever has, mind you!!) I pray one day I meet her face-to-face and that she never stops writing those Bible studies because I can't get enough of them! Can you remotely imagine the mansion waiting for that woman? Crying out loud it has to be half the size of our earthly planet somewhere in eternity ๐Ÿ™‚ May you get that text back, and see your beloved ever so soon you precious angel. Much love to you xoxo No worries and no insecurities thanks to you!

Dear Beth and all who will see this,
Could you please pray for my dear friend Laurie Coldwell from Maine? (She is part of the "So Long Insecurity" study here).
Yesterday she collapsed and was unresponsive. Her sweet daughter of 6 years old called her daddy at work. At the hospital they found it to be a brain aneurism. She had surgery last night. Though the surgery went well the Drs. do not expect her to survive. She has a wonderful Christian husband, Don, and three young children: 6, 3, and 1. This is a family who loves and serves God continually.
We need a miracle. Please join me in asking God for a miracle!!!

What a wonderful life-changing experience! Thank you, Beth, for coming and speaking God`s Word to us, sharing your life with us, and for Travis and the amazing worship. Praying blessings on the whole team!!

When we try to put thankful, heartfelt expression into words, it comes out sounding so little. Please know that this is a huge expression of loving thanks. You have given so much and gone through so much to give what you have! These four lives were changed through the power of the Holy Spirit because of your obedient ministry. THANK YOU!!

Sorry that you got stuck here an extra day because of our typical Canadian weather. Couldn`t help laughing over Annon. saying that we won all those gold medals and now won`t give Beth back. We`ll give her back, if you promise to send her again soon! Seriously, praying, Beth, that your flight out today is on time and gets you home safe! Pray for you and your family often!!

One more thing!! Awesome that a precious security guard got saved. I noticed them, for some reason, and was praying for them…thank you Jesus for that privilege.

Much love to you Beth, from a Canadian siesta who is up for "God`s something new!!"

Hi Beth and all the Siestas! This is my very first entry on the LPM Blog. Actually this is the first time I've ever blogged. Beth, you have been an inspiration to me and a constant companion via Life Today's web site these past four months. My father passed on of a sudden heart attack on November 3, 2009(just 3 days before the 6th year anniversary of my mom's death) and my father-in-law passed 10 days after my father on November 12. To say my heart is heavy is an understatement. On top of their deaths I am the executor of my father's will, which is stretching me beyond what my personality can handle. We are trying to get my father's home sold because it has a second mortgage which none of the family can afford and there is not enough insurance money to cover the second mortgage. The house is a never ending list of problems, the newest one being some problems with the foundation. I feel overwhelmed! I am asking for prayers from all of you. Please pray that God will help me through the sorrow that envelops me and give me the wisdom to deal with all of this mess and to take away my anxieties and fears.
I know God has been with me through all of this or I would have completely crumbled by now.

Thank you for your prayers! Lisa

My laptop opens up to my personal blog as my homepage. My music happened to be on Travis singing "Be Thou my Vision". As it is Sunday I had my own little church service right here in my heart. It's Sunday morning and I have been sick for two days! Never get sick but apparently the stomach virus has hit. Finally feeling a bit better so decided to take a couple of hours and catch up on the blog, truly reading the hearts of the women. Usually I don't make time to read all the posts but today I did. It is so beautiful to hear the hearts of women. We , as women, have been taught to "push down" our feelings, gird up our loins and move along. We have so much on our plates with family, work, home, church, community…yet, our hearts remain the same…wounded and unattended. This blog has given many women an "out" to hear the cry's of the heart, a venue to truly speak from the wounded place and to find solace from another sister. Pretty awesome ladies, pretty awesome. Thank you Beth and the LP team for loving women, right where they are.

And the music….well, I could listen to that 24/7.
Thank you Beth, for being Beth.
    Sincerely, Sandee

Yay! Glad you're home! Well, your temporary earthly home, anyhow ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, MamaBeth, if you were in the Eastern time zone and traveled back to Central time when the clocks moved ahead, was it like you didn't lose any time? haha

(Rhetorical question, I just think about silly details like that)

Enjoy the day with Keith – Tell him we all said Hi!

    Sarah says:

    Hi Beth,

Glad to hear that you got home, safe and sound!

I was one of the lucky ladies to attend LPL this weekend. Iโ€™m so glad you came to Canada, and so glad that I had the opportunity to hear Godโ€™s message through you. This really felt like the trip that just didnโ€™t want to happen โ€“ so many obstacles needed to be overcome for me and the 4 other ladies from my church to get there. Satan was definitely trying to discourage me and keep me from the conference and the convicting and life-changing words you spoke to us.

I am so happy to hear about the security guard!! By any chance, was he the one who was sitting close to the stage to your left? I saw him listening and watching intently. So, if it wasnโ€™t him, maybe we have another security brother that we donโ€™t know about!!!!

Beth, after the last session, I spoke to a lovely Lifeway lady, named Patricia. I asked her how soon this conference would be available to purchase, either on CD or DVD. She said that this one wasnโ€™t one that you were planning to sell. I was so disappointed. Your message this weekend is one that I really believe my mom needs to hear desperately. I invited her to come with me this weekend. Long story, short: about 15 years ago, when I was just going into high school, my mom remarried after many years of being alone after my dad died. This new husband turned out to be a liar; he took all our money that my dad had left us. My mom cannot get past this decision of hers to marry this guy. She had another bit of bad news regarding this same situation right before the conference, and she said that she just didnโ€™t want to be around โ€œall those people who were so happy and saying that God is so good.โ€

Beth or Melissa or Amanda or anyone who reads this from Lifeway, is there any way that I could get a recording of this sessions? Even if it isnโ€™t high quality, I really would love to be able to give that to my mom. I think she would really be blessed to hear that God is up to something new in her life.

Please let me know if this is possible!!

And a thank you to all the women who attend – it was so great to be around so many Christian women – signing, praising, worshiping our one true God.

Jesus, please get Mama Beth home to Papa Keith. BLESS that security guard and every woman that joined your family – OUR FAMILY! – this weekend! We love them already and know You do too. Help Mama Beth to not feel too lonely and to find good coffee. : )

    We love you Jesus,
    Amen

I just walked in the door, Girls! I read your comments on my I-phone on ride home. (No, I wasn't driving!) Thank you so much for praying me home!

Karen, I am so worried about Laurie! Oh, my gracious. That does NOT sound good. That is the same thing that happened to Keith's beloved sister many years ago. So sudden and devastating. Please keep us posted! May God hover over all of them in ways that are purely palpable. We all care so much.

    Hi Beth,
I was one of those 3300 women and I had to let you know how incredible it was to see you on that stage! You are wonderful and I thank you for your message from God. I almost did not go but thankfully Tracey made sure that I went. I needed to go. I need to learn to trust fully in God and give Him my whole heart.
