Back to Bible Study, Home Girls! And, How About Some Newbies?

It’s a gorgeous, cold morning in Houston, Texas and not a cloud in the sky. Let’s put last week’s severe weather fiasco behind us, Houston-area girls, and have us some Bible study tonight! (Some of you may know that we had 17 flakes of snow and it shut the city down. Exciting times at the Gulf Coast!)

We loved hearing from you northern Siestas who said that, all winter long, you basically schedule and cancel, schedule and cancel, schedule and cancel. And we think we’ve got Bible study problems!

One of my favorite things that has happened on the blog in the last week is hearing from at least 100 new commenters through last Thursday’s post. I did a shout-out to people who’d never posted and you immediately came out of the wood work, as my grandmother would say, and totally made my week! All the regulars on here loved it, too. You are a delight to us. Completely refreshing. Stay with it!

That delight got me in the spirit! Let’s have another shout-out today to a different set of newbies. How about some Houston area women who have never been with us at Tuesday night LPM Bible study heading our way this evening? It’s a completely interdenominational women’s gathering at Houston’s First Baptist Church at 7401 Katy Freeway. We start praise and worship at 6:30.

We would be jazzed out of our minds to have you! By this time in our series, we always have plenty of seats for visitors so why don’t you make the trip, brave the traffic, persevere to find a parking place, and come have Bible study with us? (This invitation is not meant to take anyone from an already existing Bible study group on Tuesday night. Stay with your own! But, it you’re not participating in another one, come get a Word with us!) Look for a LPM staff member or volunteer and tell them you are new with us and that you took today’s challenge. She’ll make you so glad you came.

Now, let’s open it up for your own shout-outs. If you have a Bible study (any day of the week) open to the public that you want to let your Siestas in your area know about, give the invitation as a comment to this post. I was so blessed that one of you wrote in a comment this week that you went to a new church last Sunday and met a Siesta and God caused you to feel welcome from the very start. Now, THAT’S what this community should be all about.

I am so honored to journey with all of you. Jesus is life, Girlfriends. Jesus is life. Let’s run after Him with every ounce of energy we have.

    Hello to all!

I am new to posting, but not new to this blog – been here a couple of years, and have just been blessed to be here, and have many God "Calgon" moments as a result of being part of Siestaville!

For some really great women's groups in the DFW Metroplex, check out my place of worship, Gateway Church in Southlake & North Richland Hills, TX. The website is http://www.gatewaypeople.com and there is lots of group info under the "PINK" tab or for women's ministry (PINK is the name of our women's ministry, and we do a plethera of Beth Moore studies!)

On a random "shout out note," I am a trained dramatist with gifts in theater, dance, & mime! I will be in the Houston area (Pasedena)this weekend (March 5-7) teaching a mime workshop for a conference that ends on Saturday. I recently decided to stay over through Sunday morning, so if anyone might be interested in performance ministry, I'd love to be a part of your worship service ([email protected]).

Blessings to all, and thanks especially to all the staff for all you do for Him!You truly are "living proof" of His grace, mercy, and wild love for us all!

Hi! I'm so SO excited to be here! I am currently doing Esther, my very first Beth Moore study and I just found this blog and I love it! I don't usually comment on blogs but after what I just read, why not? Anyway, I am about to gobble up any Beth books I can find. This study has already had such an impact on me. Praise Jesus! I wish I could join you all at Bible study but alas I'm way up north in Canada ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyway, thanks for all you do for us ladies. I have just LOVED reading through the comments today to see all the women's Bible studies that are going on all over this continent!!! It gives me goosebumps to think of all of us Siestas praising God and digging into His Word! Although we're separated by many miles, because we're the body of Christ, we all benefit.

I just moved to this town north of Toronto before Christmas and have been looking for a solid women's Bible study to attend. Didn't find one yet, so I got the Revelation "Here and Now, There and Then" lecture series and I'm starting next Tuesday, March 9th in my home …

Believing God was the first study of Beth's that I participated in and God transformed my life through that study!!! I will never be the same again. Your dear husband gave you such good advice: "Keep believing Jesus" He is Who He says He is. He can do what He says He can do. You are who God says you are. You can do all things through Christ. God's Word is alive and active in you.

I was sitting in Breaking Free this morning, we are just starting week 8. I have had a new appreciation for your command of the Word and passion for freedom. I feel I have become too familiar with you. You are so personable that sometimes I have lost perspective about how hard you have searched for Truth. It shows!

Hello to ladies in Surrey Canada.

We have a Beth Moore Bible Study on the 2nd and 4th Saturday Mornings of the month. Starting March 13th we will begin the revised version of "A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place".

We are at Parkland Fellowship located at 9574 160th St. Surrey, we gather in the Upperroom. We start at 9:00 am and usually go to noon, depending upon how much prayer and fellowshipping we can fit in with the study.
As many woman work, it is their preference to meet every two weeks, so there is plenty of time for homework, and discussion.
We welcome you to join us, we have coffee (of course) and some morning snacks.

Thank you Ms. Beth for allowing a shout out to ladies who need a warm welcome, a friendly face and maybe a shoulder to cry on.
We are a Baptist church, but have many women from various churches – Let the Lord lead you to connection!

Come on out! We wait to meet you!
