Oh, my, my, my. It is a HAPPY BUSY DAY at Living Proof. We launch our community-wide, interdenominational Tuesday Bible study this very night. We feel like this is the prime thing God ordained this ministry to do. We are discipleship freaks so, as much as we love going into cities and doing weekend events, our highest calling is to walk with a group from Point A to Point B to Point C in a particular book of the Bible or subject matter over a course of several months. We are PUMPED.
Very early this morning while I was at my breakfast room table working on my notes for tonight, I got a call from Melissa who sounded like she was in the first grade. She was on her way to orientation for her second Master’s program (Th.M. in the area of Biblical Studies). Her classes will have her in at least four different books of the Bible so she’s all set for an intense semester in the Scripts.
Amanda will be right there with me and the rest of our hardworking staff as we launch Bible study so that covers the 3 Moore girls. What about all you marvelous Siestas? You may not be starting your Fall Bible studies this week but we surely do hope you are planning to engage in a Bible study of some kind this semester and, hopefully, sooner than later. All our enemy needs is a little time with an idle mind. Around Siestaville, holding each other accountable to the healthy pursuit of Christ is a big priority. So, here’s your chance to sign on the dotted line! What are your plans for Fall Bible Study? In your comment, give…

I always love these kinds of posts. They build up our faith and remind us that a very powerful community of active Christ-pursuing, Scripture-poring sisters is out there. We have different personalities, gifts and styles of worship in Siestaville, but we are of one Spirit and one Body. Let’s celebrate it!

Beth,
I am in a small bible study group that has been meeting together weekly for 7 or so years. Every year we do one of your studies and are always so blessed by you. You have a way of speaking the Word of God that always pierces my soul to the quick! Recently three of us from the bible study went to the simulcast from Green Bay. What a blessing it was! A couple weeks before the simulcast God had given one of our Associate Pastors a sermon that correlated with what you talked about at the simulcast. So, in bible study we are starting our next study "A Woman After God's own Heart" by Elizabeth George. I was so overwhelmed by God when on the 4th page of the
study I read, "God knows the desires of my heart-indeed, He has put them there (Psalm 37:4)" Wow!!! I think God has something He is trying to say to me when three times within one month He speaks to me through others about my desires and His desires for me!
Thank you for your AMAZING ministry and the enormous blessing you are in my life. I can't wait to meet you someday either here or in heaven and give you a hug and tell you thank you!!!

There are about 10 of us doing this study. We just started week 7(because we follow the local school calendar). We'll finish up just before the 3 week school Fall break. Then before the holidays we're going to do something about personalities and God's family! Should be fun.

The Lord has completely changed the resources I was planning on using for my Revelation study. And I have to tell you, it is good–very good! My cup is past full and overflowing with the joy of the Lord. I have now completed Revelation, Chapter one. It takes me three days to do one chapter of Revelation. The first day I do on-line Bible study, the second day I do LifeGuide Bible study, and on the third day I do reading from book by Douglas Connelly.
Free on-line study:

[I really appreciate this study, because the author has one page of questions for every chapter. I find there is not really enough room for answers. You have to write very small to fit the answers in. I was thankful that I printed the study off single sided so I can put my answers on the back page. I received a great blessing from reading the summary at the beginning. After years of searching for the answer, I finally have a better understanding of why Christians suffer.]
Revelation – The Triumph of God
R. Paul Stevens
[I found that with this LifeGuide Bible Study I had to rely heavily on my Study Bible notes and various commentaries to help me answer the questions. However, the author brought out points that I had not considered previously.]
The Book of Revelation for Blockheads
Douglas Connelly
[I was so turned off by the title that I didn't purchase this book the first time I saw it. However, as I was flipping through the book I read something that really spoke to me. So I went back the next day to purchase the book. Interestingly, I now can't locate what spoke to me. π
I did the book reading last in my study and was so impressed by this first chapter. So many new insights. But most importantly, because Connelly has the heart of a pastor, I was able to see Jesus Christ more clearly.]
My Bible is all marked up with different colors and full of my hand written notes from previous studies. But when doing the above program, it was as if I had never studied the book of Revelation before.
I also purchased other resources that are more academic in nature. It is clear to me that the Lord is going to have me go through the book of Revelation a number of times.
For several years, I have been beside myself, not knowing what I was going to do when I completed my seven years with BSF. I am not afraid any more!
If anyone else, who is not living in Houston (or surrounding area) is interested in studying the book of Revelation, ask the Lord to show you how to study.
I might not be able to study the book of Revelation with you girls in Houston, but I'm with you in Spirit! π

We have started your Esther study as of today – it was an amazing morning and we know God has much in store for us.
I am the co-facilitator of the group. We had hoped for six women when we started a year and a half ago . . . God brought twenty . . . now we're thirty, plus, and we have at least five churches represented. We are honored and blessed by what He is doing among us!!!!!!!!
We have just started a blog – jansstudyblog.blogspot.com.
Many blessings to y'all – my brother lives in Houston so I think I can drawl just a bit – and lots of love . . . Jan, et al
