It’s BIBLE STUDY DAY!!!!

Oh, my, my, my. It is a HAPPY BUSY DAY at Living Proof. We launch our community-wide, interdenominational Tuesday Bible study this very night. We feel like this is the prime thing God ordained this ministry to do. We are discipleship freaks so, as much as we love going into cities and doing weekend events, our highest calling is to walk with a group from Point A to Point B to Point C in a particular book of the Bible or subject matter over a course of several months. We are PUMPED.

Very early this morning while I was at my breakfast room table working on my notes for tonight, I got a call from Melissa who sounded like she was in the first grade. She was on her way to orientation for her second Master’s program (Th.M. in the area of Biblical Studies). Her classes will have her in at least four different books of the Bible so she’s all set for an intense semester in the Scripts.

Amanda will be right there with me and the rest of our hardworking staff as we launch Bible study so that covers the 3 Moore girls. What about all you marvelous Siestas? You may not be starting your Fall Bible studies this week but we surely do hope you are planning to engage in a Bible study of some kind this semester and, hopefully, sooner than later. All our enemy needs is a little time with an idle mind. Around Siestaville, holding each other accountable to the healthy pursuit of Christ is a big priority. So, here’s your chance to sign on the dotted line! What are your plans for Fall Bible Study? In your comment, give…

Your first name or blogger name
The Bible study type (BSF, Precept, etc.), name or subject matter
City and State
Specify solo or group

I always love these kinds of posts. They build up our faith and remind us that a very powerful community of active Christ-pursuing, Scripture-poring sisters is out there. We have different personalities, gifts and styles of worship in Siestaville, but we are of one Spirit and one Body. Let’s celebrate it!

Beth Moore's "A Beautiful Mind"..Started today as a 10 week study: Alternating weeks of DVDs and Small Group Discussions. It had SUCH an impact on my life this summer when I went through it, that I am hosting/facilitating it for a morning group and evening group of women at our church. I made "follow along" note sheets to capture the Scripture references and Beth's AMAZING insights and questions ("We serve an AGAIN kind of God," and "Wherever our longings are, we are most vulnerable.") Thank you, Beth, for continuing to be the one who takes me deep in the Word. My Promised Land is as a teacher/speaker, and you continue to inspire me!!! Can't wait for your book to hear more on your insights regarding insecurity. The more I serve and spend time with Jesus, the more I see the enemy trying to dim the lights with his lies…so I gotta stay close to the Truth. Your teachings help me more than I can ever convey. Thank you, Momma Siesta! Beth Craig, Loomis, CA

I am so excited we are studying Daniel by our beloved Siesta Mama Beth. Ours is a community, interdenominational study as well which delights my heart. We have a group of 75 ladies which I break into smaller groups so that we have the intimate small group experience despite being a large group. Our study begins on 9/22 in Newbury Park, CA. Please keep us in your prayers as this is an intense and powerful study. I know because I have led this one 3 years ago.

Many blessings to all siestas for a great journey into the Word. Loving God's Word.

Beth, I sent an email via your correspondence dept.- not sure how to express how much the first session impressed and ministered to me, the ladies and gentleman sitting around me- With the number attending, we are all obviously "starving" for God's word and promises- My "Nascar" drive from Austin was well worth it- I shared the "Drop the Ball" with several friends and it may be our new mantra! Thank you dear dear brilliant and caring sister in Christ, Aunt Siesta in Austin

Last time Beth was in Portland, My BFF and I went to the conference. During the last song of the last session, a woman who was seated next to me came close to me and asked my name. Then she asked if she could pray for me and I said sure. Long story short, she spoke truths into my ear that she shouldn't have known. She even said it herself that she didn't know why she was saying what she was saying, but the Holy Spirit was so clear to her about speaking to me that she couldn't even sing the songs. So part of what she said was that I needed to get a mentor. So today I am meeting with my mentor to start our first Bible study together, Advancing through Adversity, by Charles Stanley. I know God has a work to do in me, and an overflow of grace to spill over into other womens lives. I just don't know what it is, so here we go. I'm riding downhill, eyes closed, no hands! Praise Him that we can trust Him to make the ride wild, while we are comforted in His perfect will. HEY YOU! If the woman from Salem, OR. reads this, Thank You! I took you seriously.
