Good Morning From The Beach House

Good morning, my favorite blog community on the planet!

The “Moore” girls are all together at a rented beach house having the best time! AJ, Melissa, Annabeth and I got here yesterday and all the boys will join us tomorrow. Til then, girls just wanna have fun. We’ve already laughed like crazy, made a ton of fun of each other (it’s usually AJ and Lis making fun of me in particular but I got in a few good ones). We also got especially tickled at Annabeth who was in her jammies last night at about 10:30, sitting on our laps in the den where we were watching TV. She was smiling big enough to eat a baby elephant, squealing, kicking her legs and looking from one of us to the another – Mommy, Aunt Lissy, and Bibby – as if she were about to bust out with “Par-tay! Par-tay! Par-tay!” She’s just killer cute. AJ brought her camera so we’ll try to post some pictures while we’re here. AJ and I brought our “Me, Myself and Lies” workbooks so we won’t fall behind. A five day stint is way too long to take a vacation from the Word lest our men arrive to the 3 Brides of Frankenstein. I am not sure what Melissa brought for spiritual enrichment but I saw her Greek New Testament in there by her bed. Maybe we can spend some rich devotional time parsing verbs this morning.

Speaking of “Me, Myself and Lies,” AJ got an email from Jennifer Rothschild’s husband yesterday saying that she is going to be on the Dr. Phil show this very day. Can you believe your summer Bible study teacher is going to be on network television like that? I think I’m scheduled to be on Jerry Springer at some point with my family. I’ll keep you posted on when. We’re waiting for a couple of situations to come to a head.

OK, we’re going for a walk and I need to get Annabeth’s diaper changed and her swim suit on if I can bear the love. I also need to pull Melissa’s hind end out of the bed. We did not come here to sleep. We came here to “Par-tay!” I’ll check in with you really soon so that, just in case you didn’t get to head to a beach with a temperate climate of 105 degrees for the Fourth, you can live vicariously through the Siestas Sledge.

We love you, Darling Things. I especially do but I only get to say that because neither AJ or Melissa know I’m posting this.

I bet you all have had so much fun! I would love to be at the beach this weekend, but we are preparing for our nieces and nephew to come stay with us for nearly two weeks. (Mom and Dad are going to Turkey on a mission trip) I'm going to need serious prayer….2 sets of twins (12 and 4) plus my two. A total of 5 girls and one boy. It's going to be fun?!?!?! I have no idea what to do with a little boy! Guess I'm going to learn on the fly. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Following Hard says:

Oh, Beth. If you ever go on Springer, you can know that my family will be on the very next episode. The latest? My niece is in a shelter for unwed mothers, getting her act together and presumably hiding from her abusive boyfriend. Apparently, he's found her because his face showed up in the window a few weeks ago. My niece's roommate (who also just gave birth a few months ago) is a former street-kid from Memphis and I guess she decided that she'd had enough foolishness, so she went out after Spoon (yes, that's his nickname) with a baseball bat.

Picture six-foot Spoon fleeing the premises chased by five-foot Baby-Mama with a baseball bat, and you have a picture of what our life has been like lately.

    Enjoy the beach . . . and the girl-time!

Haha! I'm trying to picture you on Jerry Springer, Beth! Lol! "Today on Jerry Springer: Esteemed Bible teacher Beth Moore and family…", and I'm sure at some point in the show you'd bring the discussion around to God. It would be a very interesting episode! It reminds me of Christmas with my family a year and a half ago. Apparently when my mom had been babysitting my 2-yr.-old cousin, someone called while she was flipping through channels and the tv was on Jerry Springer for a little while. At Christmas, my cousin hopped up on his new tricycle, threw his fist in the air, and sat there chanting, "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" It was hilarious! I hope you all have a great time at the beach! God bless!

    Beth – AJ – Melissa – Annabeth:

So blessed that you took time to bless us with this post – even while you are away with the girls for a beach trip!

I just know in my soul that you will have a blast – laughing over silly things and just being together. (Hey Beth – I know my boys make fun of me too – I don't give a flying flip! I know they love me…just like your girls love you too!)

So good of the men folks to let y'all get a headstart – now that IS a blessing.

I just came in from my Dad's garden where it was 98 degrees… he and my Mom are cooling it in the mountains of NC and I picked corn, squash, okra and blackberries. I made some of the best blackberry preserves yesterday – this time just got enough for a cobbler for the Fourth of July!

Smiling big enough to eat a baby elephant – now that was cute! That Annabeth is in store for so much JOY!

    Bethie – Bethie – Bethie – Bethie..
That's what we would be yelling if you were on Springer…HAHAHAHA!

    Love y'all –
    Wear your sunblock!

Beth, this has nothing to do with the beach, but I just had to thank you! I have been struggling with what I believe are "Words" sent to me from our Lord- however, I was beginning to doubt I had heard correctly- My trust factor was beginning to go into the "tank"- Your session 2 of LifeOneHundredFold was an answer to prayer and an encouragement as if you had prepared that lesson just for me- thanks more than we can ever express for your willingness to share your God given abilities, humor and love for the Body of Christ- I pray God's abundant blessings, especially FUN for you and your loved ones, Your beach loving Austin Siesta

Silly Momma Beth. You crack me up. ;o)

Enjoy the ocean some for me. (Never have been able to decide which I love more–the ocean or the mountains.)

We will be hosting our college age son's friends here (about 20-30 of them) for the fourth. Should be loud and silly. They are a great group of kids and we've missed them since they all left for college. It will be nice to have "our kids" around for a little while again.

Swimming, BBQ, games, fireworks & friends = a great fourth of July!

We "especially" love you too! And I'm spending the 4th with my dear Mother – who's b-day is on the 4th (we say we always celebrate her in style – with fireworks. Smile). She's up here from sunny southern California. My prayer for this holiday weekend: "Dear Lord – please help me to go to bed before 2am and not eat a second helping of strawberry shortcake at 1am, like I did tonight. Amen."

Par-tay on girls – Moore's and every other Siesta!

I'll be praying for you. A few months ago I went through the same thing (ultrasound and MRI). It turned out to be "benignly inconclusive" (an odd way of saying we're still not sure what we're seeing but we're not worried about it).

It's so easy to have anxiety and fear creep in. Praise God for the timeliness of this Scripture memorization. I'm praying your mind and heart are made new and strengthened with the power of His word!

That's so funny. I hope you all have a fabulous time!
I was listening to the radio the other morning (my alarm clock…I actually listen when I don't want to get up) and they were talking about your study on Esther…actually, they were talking about makeup and women who think their men are impressed with it, when someone called in and started talking about a study she was doing. The hosts asked about the study, one of the hosts explained who Esther was, and then said "so, what does Beth Moore have to say about the subject". I was so excited…I jumped up out of bed thinking "they are talking about my Beth."
So, if you don't ever make the Springer show (the comment almost sent me into intercession…haa haa haa j/k), you at least made it to the radio.

My Grandma and Great Grandma used to take all 14 grandkids to the beach for a week at a time every summer! It will always be a cherished memory!! Make many of them this weekend!!

On another note, I too want to attest to what a blessing and comfort the scripture cards have been in my life the last 6 months! We have walked through one of the hardest times in our married life over the last 5 months, those scriptures have been my steady reminder and knowledge that God is walking us throughthe fire! One day I was having a ruff day and my 17 year old (foster) daughter noticed. She texted my husband immediately and said, "Did you make her cry and resort to her bible memory cards??" It was such a joy to my soul to realize that she knows where I go for comfort!! (And it wasn't him that made me cry!) ๐Ÿ™‚
    Be Blessed!
