Good morning, my favorite blog community on the planet!
The “Moore” girls are all together at a rented beach house having the best time! AJ, Melissa, Annabeth and I got here yesterday and all the boys will join us tomorrow. Til then, girls just wanna have fun. We’ve already laughed like crazy, made a ton of fun of each other (it’s usually AJ and Lis making fun of me in particular but I got in a few good ones). We also got especially tickled at Annabeth who was in her jammies last night at about 10:30, sitting on our laps in the den where we were watching TV. She was smiling big enough to eat a baby elephant, squealing, kicking her legs and looking from one of us to the another – Mommy, Aunt Lissy, and Bibby – as if she were about to bust out with “Par-tay! Par-tay! Par-tay!” She’s just killer cute. AJ brought her camera so we’ll try to post some pictures while we’re here. AJ and I brought our “Me, Myself and Lies” workbooks so we won’t fall behind. A five day stint is way too long to take a vacation from the Word lest our men arrive to the 3 Brides of Frankenstein. I am not sure what Melissa brought for spiritual enrichment but I saw her Greek New Testament in there by her bed. Maybe we can spend some rich devotional time parsing verbs this morning.
Speaking of “Me, Myself and Lies,” AJ got an email from Jennifer Rothschild’s husband yesterday saying that she is going to be on the Dr. Phil show this very day. Can you believe your summer Bible study teacher is going to be on network television like that? I think I’m scheduled to be on Jerry Springer at some point with my family. I’ll keep you posted on when. We’re waiting for a couple of situations to come to a head.
OK, we’re going for a walk and I need to get Annabeth’s diaper changed and her swim suit on if I can bear the love. I also need to pull Melissa’s hind end out of the bed. We did not come here to sleep. We came here to “Par-tay!” I’ll check in with you really soon so that, just in case you didn’t get to head to a beach with a temperate climate of 105 degrees for the Fourth, you can live vicariously through the Siestas Sledge.
We love you, Darling Things. I especially do but I only get to say that because neither AJ or Melissa know I’m posting this.
Have an absolute blast with your family, Beth!!! quick story, to let you know what a powersource my Scripture memory cards have been lately. Yesterday, I went to the Dr. to do the "Annual Thing" check up. While waiting in my "gown" I went through my cards and kept going over them. As she was checking me out, she found something….needless to say I have a mammogram and ultrasound scheduled in two weeks. What a blessing to have my cards with me before, and after the appt. The verse that I kept going over was Psalm 18:2: "The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer, my God is my Rock in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stonghold." amen. thank you for initiating the Scripture memory verse idea. Absolutely awesome. love, Pam in San Diego
I'm thankful that the "Siestas Sledge" think of us when they sing "We are Family" – it's almost like being there, except for no sand, no diapers and no Greek New Testament. :o)
I just love you all like crazy.
Melinda
Have a wonderful time at the beach, you sweet things! And yes, please post some photos. I think we are going to Mexico Beach in FL for a week in August; I cannot wait!

Beth, loved your Jerry Springer comment π I agree, you need to get your daughter out of bed as soon as possible & show her that her Mom is ready to rock and roll! π Have a great time!
Sweet Beth, you are hilarious!!! Wish I could sneak to the beach also! haven't been there for years, and really love it! But I live about 16 hours inland. sooo…. hope you guys enjoy it for those of us that can't go!

Beth, I have to ask you a question. On the first SSBS you had on long sleeves. How can you do that in Houston? Being from Texas and living in Kansas I get made fun of when I say it is a little chilly out tonight (it's usually about 77 when my friend and I walk in the evening). Just wondering:)
Nate's looking at me wondering why I'm cracking up … parsing the verbs for our devo time….yes you can in Jesus' sweet name π
have a blast
Thank you again, like a lot of Siestas have said before, for just the fun post about your real lives.

LAUGHING —– now, sleep is good on vacation so give Auntie Lissy a bit of a break!
Have a great time and I so do not envy you – the beach is not my forte, but the mountains —- that is another thing!
Freedom is never free . . .
Happy 4th to the Siestas Sledge and the newest 'bow adorned' Baby Siesta! Enjoy the beach this weekend–what a great place to be. I think we're going to a new-to-us lake in the area so hopefully it will be a little cooler. This 105 degree weather is a bit of Texas trivia I don't remember growing up here!! Not in June anyway–I remember some HOT Augusts, but I agree with Amanda, does this mean August is going to be like October?
Have a great time and enjoy those men when they get to join you!
Lovin y'all,
Enjoy this special time with your family! I look forward to seeing photos! Wear sunscreen!!! HAVE FUN!

How fun is that? I hope your entire family makes some awesome memories this weekend. One of our favorite vacations was to Destin, FL a few years ago for Thanksgiving. We cooked up some of the best shrimp for that Thanksgiving Day Feast! You girls enjoy your time before the guys arrive and go get a pedicure together. DonΓ’β¬β’t worry Beth, my sis and I get some jokes in on our mom, too! You shouldnΓ’β¬β’t feel alone there, girl!
You guys are awesome! Have a great time
splashing around and living in Him!
Love,
Michele
Ah, I'm jealous! I wish I could be there. My mother, sister, and I took my 15month old to the beach a few weeks ago and I absolutely did Not want to leave. All we do is gush over him and laugh at each other but it's added fun when you're away from home on vacation!
Thank you for letting us have a peak into your family fun!
PS-Make sure you've got a strong manicure for your appearance on Jerry! Claws come out ya know. Even though I know you're not a "mean girl" (just studied that in Esther last week)someone in your family might be π

Oh, have fun for me! No vacay this summer for this Siesta…helping take care of my 80 year old Grandaddy. Splash some salt water for me and have a blast! Every Siesta, especially you, deserves a little girl therapy! Enjoy!
Nice:)
BTW, for the siestas to know I am looking at some airfares for January, and they aren't bad:)
I can't believe #13 was yesterday!
Looking forward to Deeper Still in Orlando:)
Be Blessed:)

Can you please let us know when Springer will air? I'm the only loser in the US without DVR but dern if I won't get it to make sure I DO NOT miss that episode. :))))
Now that I think of it, my family could probably help you fill up that hour.
Just have your people call my people.

Too funny! Have a great rest or par-tay π (my side says go-go-go and my husband's side says rest-rest-rest!)
I won't have my older girls with me this 4th, first time ever – I don't know if I like this progression towards empty nest!
Have a fun, fun time!
love
mk
A beach house…sigh. That's what I call a real party. With your girls and grandbaby. Score!!!
I shall be on the Springer episode right after yours ;).
One of my bible study ladies is going to come over here and post something to you, Mama Siesta, about week 5 of Esther's video session. I'm so excited one of them will be here!
I told them the story about the lady in DC saying "I google you" and everyone pointed to this one lady in our group b/c she googles everything! She google you too!
I know y'all are having a blast and I'm so glad you're getting to spend time together! My husband is coming home tomorrow and we'll have a couple of days w/o anyone else around! My oldest daughter (16 years old and always reminds me of Melissa when you share M stories) has been in Costa Rica on a mission trip and gets back home Sunday night. I CAN.NOT.WAIT.TO.HEAR.HER.STORY!!!! It's times like this that make me wish she was a writer so I'd know she journaled all about it!
Ok, enough ramble. I must get back to work.
I LOVE EACH OF YOU and look forward to pictures!!!!
(I'm giggling at Melinda's comment…it almost like being there…)
Dreaming of the Beach
What is it about the beach that makes me feel closer to God. The beautiful sand, the crashing waves. And why is it that when I am away from it, I long to be there. Is it because I am a California Girl. I spent many summers with my best friend at the beach. I have such fond memories of waking up hearing the waves beckoning us, burning my self to a crisp, bon fires, hunting for both cute boys and beautiful shells. I have been blessed to see different beaches in my life and they're all so unique and beautiful. How is that? How can the same ocean produce different sand.
My most recent visit just a few weeks ago was at Pismo Beach and the sand felt like velvet. I couldn't stop touching it. I put my blanket down and dug my holes so my body could conform to the sand. Felt the beautiful warm sun on my body. Watching the birds snuggle down in the sand around me to take a siesta as well, felt the cool breeze off the ocean pass over me. It was heaven. Since we left I have been looking for every opportunity to go back.
Alot of my dreams from the Lord are around the beach. I had a dream many years ago of me and this man so in love with each other. He was all these good qualities rolled up into one man. I just kept thinking he is soooo good. We were at the beach during the dream and he turned to me and said "I am going to go and prepare our wedding and make all the arrangements and then come back to get you." It was one of those dreams that you deeply feel it and started to wake up and I didn't want to wake up. When I did and recounted the dream I realized it was Jesus.
LOL…have a blast!
And please do check in since the weather here in Vermont is nothing but rainy and 60's and hearing some more 'greetings from the beach' sure would be nice!… maybe with some verbs from the New Testament…:)
I actually thought it was so cool to learn in the SSBS what Thesaurus really meant or is.
Blessings,
Michelle in VT
We are headed to the beach tomorrow! Gulf Shores hwere we come!
I also just bought my tickets for your Memphis event. I cannot wait!!
Where are you gals? If you are anywhere near Panama City Beach there are a couple of Siestas that would LOVE to treat you to lunch!!

you just crack me up. Springer..I want to be there for that one. I sure hope yall have lots of fun at the beach. My little family and I are off for a few days too for the zoo, hanging out at hotel pool…well you get the picture…some much needed time. I am taking my Scripture cards with me too.
Can't wait to see some photos. Keep cool and enjoy.
love to you all

Have fun, girls!!! π Love the beach!
Our family does that every couple of years, too. This summer, we're skipping the beach and going to Colonial Williamsburg. It will be fun, but I am a water bug… May have to hit Water Country while we're there… or go over to York (they've redone that — lots of quaint shops and restaurants — beautiful) or VA Beach for a little sand and sun while we're there … π
