Good Monday morning, my dear Siestas!
Thank you for praying for all of us at Living Proof Live in Stockton, California! God gave us a fresh revelation of His Son this weekend (out of Revelation, as a matter of fact) and what more could we possibly ask except for the courage to act on it? For any of you who were there, thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of being your servants. I’ve thought about you constantly since I got home. I loved seeing the myriad of you at In-n-Out. I wouldn’t leave California without an In-n-Out cheeseburger if my life depended on it.
There are certain songs I play and sing when I’m especially aware of Christ as the ultimate, uncontested love of my life OR if I’m especially in need of remembering. This is one of them. I have no idea how many times I’ve played it and Mark Schultz has no idea how many times I’ve sung back up for him. Not that he’d want to hire me and take me on the road or anything. But if he did, I’d walk one thousand miles, one thousand miles it’s true, if he were heading straight to Jesus.
I would walk 1,000 miles
1,000 miles it’s true
I would walk 1,000 miles
Just to be with You
You’ve got this promise too
I would walk 1,000 miles
Just to be with You
If I could live 100 years
Before my life is through
If I could live 100 years
I’d spend them loving You
You’ve got this promise too
If I could live 100 years
I’d spend them loving You
If I could write 10,000 songs
10,000 songs it’s true
If I Could write 10,000 songs
I’d Sing them all for you
You’ve got this promise too
If I could write 10,000 songs
I’d Sing them all for you
(Mark Schultz, 1000 Miles)
SO, Siestas, what song reminds you personally that Jesus is the love of your life? I wish we had room for all the lyrics but here’s what I’ll request instead: the name of the song, the artist and the one line that especially gets to you.
Let’s build each other up in the Spirit this Monday morning. Jesus is so worthy.
I love you, Siestas!
When God Ran
Phillips, Craig, and Dean
"It was the only time I ever saw Him run…"
omg –
i have to go listen to it right now.
He is running…I am running…
I CANNOT WAIT TO RUN TO HIM!!!!
He Will Rejoice by Trevor Morgan on the original Glory Revealed cd. It's my life verse (Zephaniah 3:17) put to music and everytime I hear it I am reminded of just how much He loves me…enough to quiet us with His love and rejoice over us with singing…Oh Praise Him!!
oh oh I just remembered the other one! Never Let Go by David Crowder…I've heard many versions, but this one brings me to tears every single time…
Taste & See… by Brian & Jenn Johnson
"He has turned my mourning into dancing,
put off my rags and clothed me with gladness,
and I will dance, and I will rise
I'll sing and not be silent!"
One Day and You are Loved by Hope's Calling. They are wonderful.

Up from the grave He rose again!

I Will Rise – Chris Tomlin
Victory is won, He is risen from the dead and I will rise when He calls my name, no more sorrow no more pain, I will rise on eagles wings before my God fall on my knees.
Amen – This life is not the end and one day I will rise.

"If it had not been for the Lord on my side, tell me where would i be………where would i be… He kept my enemies away…..He gave me joy and peace i've never known….He let the sun shine through a cloudy day …..tell me where would i be ………Where would i be?"
Scary thought huh? Praise God that He has taken us by the hand and has been with us literally ever since!!! PRAISE HIM!!!
Be thou my vision, author unknown.
Best line: Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, Be thou my vision oh ruler of all.
Your friend on the pilgrim road,
Loriann
Thou, oh Lord, are a shield for me. My glory and the lifter of my head. Thou , Oh Lord are a shield for me, my glory and the lifter of my head! I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me, out of his Holy ear. I laid me down and slept and awaked, and the Lord sustained, He sustained me! Thou Oh Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the lifter of my head.
Nothing is Beyond You. Written by Rich Mullins performed by Amy Grant. "Nothing is beyond You, You stand beyond the reach of our vain imagainations our misguided piety." As the song says no matter where we are, what we have done nothing is beyond HIM.

One more to consider is Ross Jutsum's "It Won't Be Long Now"
'It won't be long now,
till the world is at peace,
till sorrows have ceased,
it won't be long,
It won't be long now
till the beauty we see
for the whole world will be
it won't be long,
The lamb will peacefully
dwell with the lion,
The leopard will lie down with the kid,
The wolf and the bear will no longer be wild,
Little child it won't be long now."
Revelation Song by Kari Jobe
"Jesus, Your Name is Power. Breath. and Living Water.
Such a Marvelous Mystery!!!"
"In Christ alone"
sung by Travis or the Gettys
My two songs for now are:
"Closer to Love" by Mat Kearney- "You are all that I've waited for all of my life, you pull me closer to love…"
AND
"God Will Lift Up Your Head" by Jars of Clay- The whole song!
I love the song "East to West" by Casting Crowns. The line…. " i look my eyes unto the hills, where does my help come from, my help comes from the lord, the maker of heaven and earth." A great reminder.
In Christ Alone- Travis
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
"Shout to the Lord" never fails to bring tears to my eyes and often gets me on my face in prayer! Interestingly, I have a version on my ipod from the 2008 Top 8 American Idol contestants as sang on the "Idol Gives Back" show. It is beautiful and I was particularly pleased (and surprised) to see them perform that song.
"NOTHING COMPARES TO THE PROMISE I HAVE IN YOU"
The Wonderful Cross as sung by Phillips, Craig and Dean!
Amazing Love – Bebo Norman
Amazing love…what sacrifice…the Son of God…given for me…my debt He paid…my death He died…that I might live…that I might live…
Remedy Drive "All Along"
I finally found what I could never see before
You've always been the one I was looking for
If I could be selfish and have another post, this is not a song but a clip that encourages me every time I watch it. It is called "That's My King" and is by SM Lockridge. I've bookmarked it to my favorites!

Thanks and have a great day!
It's so hard to pick just one song, but for a couple of years this has been such a comforting song:
I Will Be Your Friend
by Amy Grant
I'm never gonna walk away if the walls come down some day
All alone and you feel afraid,
I'll be there when you call my name
You can always depend on me,
I believe until forever ends…
I will be your friend.
There will be a day – Jeremy Camp
This song burst into my consciousness recently when it was on the radio. I'm overwhelmed right now and the words gave me some much needed encouragement. Like a hug from God.
A few lyrics…
I know the journey seems so long
You feel your walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone
Troubled soul don’t lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that’s in store
Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting
I can’t wait until that day where the very one I’ve lived for always will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
Bring the Rain; Mercy Me; "For I know there'll be days when this life brings me pain, but if that's what it takes to praise you, Jesus bring the rain!"
Oh my goodness, I was just giddy that MISSBOJENKINS posted about SM Lockridge – That's my King is amazing. I LOVE that! Imagine my surprise about a month ago I was listening to the radio early in the morning which I never do when getting ready and heard another sermon on the radio by him. I did a happy dance for a week!!! It was on Today in the Word. Here's a link to their archives. It was on May 27 and 28 titled The Lordship of Christ. God bless!

The first song that immediately came to mind was "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts – and I discovered this new meaning for this song, after the "Stepping Up" study 🙂
~Poorna
This song makes me turn up the volume and sing at the top of my lungs with tears streaming down my face while looking absolutely silly to the cars around me – I just don't care!
Always – Buidling 429
But I believe always always
Our Savior never fails
Even when all hope is gone
God knows our pain and His promise remains
He will be with you always
The cd Conversations by Sarah Groves. Every song hits it right on. This girl gets it!! Listen to it when I need lifting up…
"One Pure and Holy Passion" by Passion…..this world is empty, pale and poor compared to knowing you, My Lord….
I have 2 songs that both gets me in awe and humbled at the same time. They are "Shout to the Lord" and Handel's "Hallelujah" chorus'.

From "The Motions" by Matthew West
"I don't wanna go through the motions
I don't wanna go one more day
without Your all consuming passion inside of me
I don't wanna spend my whole life asking,
"What if I had given everything,
instead of going through the motions?""
What a wonderful post…so many favorite songs! My absolute all time favorite is Audio Adrenaline "Ocean Floor" but the song that has me gripped right now is Christy Nockles "Life Light Up". The passion with which she sings just slays me and I pray that this will be the prayer of my life…my life will shine on earth but for you Lord.

Everlasting God by Brenton Brown–"You are the Everlasting God, the Everlasting God, You do not faint, You won't grow weary. You're the defender of the weak, You comfort those in need, You lift us up on wings like eagles"
I Don't Want to Go Somewhere by Avalon
I don't want to go somewhere
If I know that You're not there,
'Cause I know that me without You is a lie.
And I don't want to walk that road,
Be a million miles from home,
Cause my heart needs to be right where You are.
So I don't want to go.
"In Christ Alone" – Travis Cottrell – Verse 4 –
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the pow'r of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand.
'Til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.
Also "Revelation Song" – Verse 3
Filled with wonder,
Awestruck wonder,
At the mention of Your name.
Jesus, Your name is power,
Breath, and living water –
Such a marv'lous mystery.
These songs have spoken such comfort and hope over me.

As the Deer Panteth for the Water – Artist?
This song just makes me long for more of Jesus – the love of my life and my heart's true desire
"You alone are my strength, my shield
To you alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee"
The Altar and the Door, by Casting Crowns
(It's a couple of lines from the chorus, I'll keep it short.)
"Lord, this time I make it right, here at the altar I lay my life
Your kingdom come, but my will was done, my heart is broken as I…
Cry, like so many times before,
But my eyes are dry before I leave the floor, oh Lord
I tyr but this time, Jesus, how can I be sure I will not lose my follow through
Between the altar and the door"
Just totally the cry of my heart at times . . . that I wouldn't lose my follow through between the alatr and the door.
Revelation song.
I have to pull over if I am on the road. It doesn't work too well to drive with your hands in the air. This song rocks my soul to my bones.
Thank you, Travis, for making it part of the LPL!!
Only one song? I have to choose only one? Seriously? I have SO MANY! Oh well, I'm giving you two:
"Captivate Us" by WaterMark (I call this one my love song to Jesus)
the line that gets me: "and captivate us, Lord Jesus, set our eyes on you, DEVESTATE US with your presence falling down."
"None But Jesus" by Hillsong
the line that gets me: "There is no one else for me, none but Jesus"
ok i know i'm later than monday, but here goes…
tie btw "stronger" and "desert song" by hillsong united.
"all of my life, in every season, You are still God, I have a reason to sing, I have a reason to worship."
I have been awakened in the mornings with my heart already playing these wonderful words of Worship to my King!
Holly in SC
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and
You love me the same.
Indescribable by Chris Tomlin
"Everything"
by Avalon (I think thats the title)
"If you ask me why He loves me, I just don't know what to say……
He is everything, more than a story, more than words on a page in history….."
Love it.
I'm late reading this, but just have to comment. Music has been the golden thread that has never broken in my relationship with God, even when it's felt like all else has. I can still remember the exact stretch of road I was driving down when I first thought of these lyrics as being from God to me:
"Take time to realize, oh oh, that I'm on your side. Didn't I, didn't I tell you?" (from "Realize" by Colbie Caillat)
Maybe that seems like an obvious facet of God's love to some people, but for me it is something I need frequent reminders about!
"Just as I am" by Andrew Peterson
It's now time to harvest
what little that grew.
The man they call Jesus
who planted the seed
has come for the fruit.
But the best that I've got
Is not nearly enough.
He's glad for the crop,
but it's me that He loves.
Just as I am.
