Good Monday morning, my dear Siestas!
Thank you for praying for all of us at Living Proof Live in Stockton, California! God gave us a fresh revelation of His Son this weekend (out of Revelation, as a matter of fact) and what more could we possibly ask except for the courage to act on it? For any of you who were there, thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of being your servants. I’ve thought about you constantly since I got home. I loved seeing the myriad of you at In-n-Out. I wouldn’t leave California without an In-n-Out cheeseburger if my life depended on it.
There are certain songs I play and sing when I’m especially aware of Christ as the ultimate, uncontested love of my life OR if I’m especially in need of remembering. This is one of them. I have no idea how many times I’ve played it and Mark Schultz has no idea how many times I’ve sung back up for him. Not that he’d want to hire me and take me on the road or anything. But if he did, I’d walk one thousand miles, one thousand miles it’s true, if he were heading straight to Jesus.
I would walk 1,000 miles
1,000 miles it’s true
I would walk 1,000 miles
Just to be with You
You’ve got this promise too
I would walk 1,000 miles
Just to be with You
If I could live 100 years
Before my life is through
If I could live 100 years
I’d spend them loving You
You’ve got this promise too
If I could live 100 years
I’d spend them loving You
If I could write 10,000 songs
10,000 songs it’s true
If I Could write 10,000 songs
I’d Sing them all for you
You’ve got this promise too
If I could write 10,000 songs
I’d Sing them all for you
(Mark Schultz, 1000 Miles)
SO, Siestas, what song reminds you personally that Jesus is the love of your life? I wish we had room for all the lyrics but here’s what I’ll request instead: the name of the song, the artist and the one line that especially gets to you.
Let’s build each other up in the Spirit this Monday morning. Jesus is so worthy.
I love you, Siestas!
"No power of hell, no scheme of man could EVER pluck me from His hands, cuz I am his and he is mine… bought with the precious blood of Christ."
Travis Cottrell "In Christ Alone"
Chills every time I hear it!

Constantly Abiding …an old hymn written in 1908 by Anne S. Murphy.
There's a peace in my heart
that the world never gave
A peace it cannot take away.
Though the trials of life
May surround like a cloud
I've a peace that has come
here to stay
Constantly abiding Jesus is mine, Constantly abiding rapture divine. He never leaves me lonely, whispers oh so kind I will never leave thee .. Jesus is mine.
My favorite reminder of His constant love for me.

My new favorite song by Dennis Jernigan
Song: Come, King Jesus
Bridge:
The King is coming on a horse of white! He will reign in power, He will reign in might. Jesus come! Jesus come! Jesus come! Let Your Kingdom come. The King is coming, let His church rise up! Let us declare to the darkness we have had enough! Jesus come! Jesus come! Jesus come! Let Your Kingdom come!
The Revelation song is my current favorite. Except when driving. It is hard to keep the car moving safely when both hands are lifted in praise to the Lord.
Thanks, Travis, for making this song a part of LPL.
pour my love on you, if praise is like perfume, I lavish mine on you till every drop is gone, I pour my love on you…….. by Phillips, Craig, and Dean
(Had the lyrics totally wrong the first time… this is more like it. Oops!)
Taste & See by Brian and Jenn Johnson
"O Taste and see that the Lord is good
O Taste and see that the Lord is good to me
You have turned my mourning into dancing
Put off my rags and clothed me with gladness
And I will arise and I will praise you
I'll sing and not be silent"
At the risk of showing my age, In The Garden. Phrase is "He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own."
Sung by Sandi Patti & Larnelle Harris from the Let Freedom Ring CD
More Than Wonderful
He's everthing that my soul ever longed for /everything that He promised and so much more/thats
what Jesus is to me /He's more than wonderful to me.

Several hymns, but one "song" comes to mind…"Shout to the Lord" by Darlene Z. (sp?) "nothing compares to the promise I have in You". Brings me to tears EVERY TIME! I first heard it at a Women of Faith event here in Seattle. I love all the Getty music too, especially "In Christ Alone".
"Days of Elijah", Robin Mark: Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun, at the trumpet sound. Lift your voice, it's the year of jubilee, out on Zion's hill, salvation comes!
OVERCOME, I tell you!
And "All Things are Possible", Darlene Zschech: My feet are planted on this rock and I will not be shaken. My hope it comes from you alone, my God and my salvation! Your praise is always on my lips, yes I delight myself in you…
Can you listen to this song without dancing and your hands in the air???
Since Living Proof Live in Pittsburgh – it's been "The Mercy Seat" – that Travis did "Come Running, Come Running, Come Running to the Mercy Seat – where Jesus is calling – His Grace will cover me…"
Amazing Grace by Chris Tomlin.
The Lord has promised good to me as long as life endures. He will my shield and portion be….

I am a bit behind. Just found this today while looking for a Bible study on Beth's site. I REALLY need one right now! I have lots of songs that move me, but the most powerful ones right now are "I Will Rise" and "Cinderella," both by Chris Tomlin I think, as they remind me that God is always right there, lifting my out of the ashes of the ashes of my broken hopes and dreams, and inviting me to dance with him.
I am a bit behind it seems, just found this today looking for Bible study material (I REALLY need one right now!). I have many favorite songs but two right now that speak volumes to me is "I Will Rise" sung by Chris Tomlin I think, and "Cinderella" also by Tomlin. Both of these songs remind me that God is lifting me out of the ashes of brokenness.
The Motions by Matthew West
"I don't wanna go through the motions, I don't wanna go one more day, without your all consuming passion inside of me. I don't wanna spend my whole life asking, "What if I had given everything?" "
I already posted one, but this morning I was stopped dead in doing anything with a song. I think it may be on it's way to becoming a new favourite for me.
"Beautiful" by Bethany Dillon
I want to be beautiful, make you stand in awe"
and then at the end of the song"
"You make me beautiful"
The whole song is amazing, but those two lines and the difference between them was just something I need to hear. How often do we, as women, cry out the first line, and yet, we can rest assured that our Lord and Savior does make us beautiful. I definitely needed that this morning.
Travis Cottrell = "In Christ Alone"
"No power of hell
No scheme of man
Could ever pluck me
From His hand!"
I AM PERSUADED-Travis Cottrell
No mountain high, no ocean depth
No power below on earth or above
Can separate me from YOUR love!
Praise Him!
Know it's no longer Monday but how about one for Friday morning!
From Hillsong's For All You've Done Album
With All I Am
Into your hand I commit again,All I am, for you Lord. You hold my world, in the palm of your hand, and I am yours, forever.
Chorus: Jesus, I believe in you. Jesus, I belong to you. You're the reason that I live, the reason that I sing, with all I am.
I'll walk with you, wherever you go, through tears and joy, I'll trust in you. And I will live, in all of your ways and your promises, forever.
Chorus
I will worship. I will worship you.
Couldn't separate it. Sorry. Haven't listened to this song lately but it was the first one that came to mind.
Who am I – Casting Crowns
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
He loves us so much – unreal.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
A beautiful Vineyard Song that I have been playing on the piano for years, is Messiah, it truly ministers to my heart every time.
In Christ Alone…..and as He stands in victory, sins curse has lost it's grip on me, for I am His and He is mine, bought with the PRECIOUS blood of Christ. Or the verse of No power of hell, or scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand, for I am His and He is mine, bought with the PRECIOUS blood of Christ!!!!! by Travis or Avalon, love them both, Have a blessed day, Lisa
Not sure of the author's name. "How He Loves Us": He is just for me. Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree. Bending the knee with the weight of His wind and mercy.
Isn't that awesome?!
It’s HOW HE LOVES by the DAVID CROWDER BAND!!! That song’s really good! God bless you!
All That Matters by Addison Road. "My life comes from the One Who made the stars and brought the sun. He loves me more than these, so I don't need another identity!" My identity is IN CHRIST-not my looks, clothes, decorated house, or well behaved kids! "I know Your love has set me free. That's all that matters to me."
Forevermore by Travis Cottrell
taken from Ps. 145
AWESOME!
It's like the world is silent even though it isn't true, it's like the breath of Jesus is right here in this room.

In Better Hands from Relentless CD
I know I posted one already but I just love the line in this song.
Soon by Hillsong United
Though I have not seen Him
My heart knows Him well
Jesus Christ the Lamb, the Lord of heaven
(Makes me want to weep just thinking about it!) AMEN!
Every Broken Road by Rascal Flatts..
In face, you had Travis sing it in one of the bible studies I was in, and I just broke down and sobbed my eyes out before Travis sang a word because I knew what song it was… Whew!! 🙂
Oh oops.. I didn't put the line..
So, here I go again. 🙂
"Every Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts
"Every long lost dream has led me to where You are."
In fact, you had Travis sing that at a recent bible study I was in, and I just sobbed before he could even get the words out… Good stuff!!
I have 2 right now….
You Changed My Name by Travis
….You took my shame and wrote a new beginning to the story I was living…. (Praise His Name!!)
You Are Loved by Hope's Call
…You are loved beyond your failures
You are loved beyond your past
The hope that you've imagined is now reality at last
You are loved with NO conditions
You are loved with no remorse
The scars of your forgiveness are engraved upon The Lord!!
Amen!!

What Do I Know of Holy by Addison Road
the entire song, really, but especially this line:
"Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be
The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees…"
Sometimes He Calms the Storm…..
"Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child"
Its hard to pick just one but here goes. I'm picking "Mighty is the Power of the Cross" by Chris Tomlin.
What can lead the wayward home?
What can melt a heart of stone?
What can free the guilty ones?
What can save and overcome?
Overcome
"Mighty, awesome, wonderful is the Holy Cross. Where the Lamb lay down his life to lift us from the fall. Mighty is… the power of…
the Cross."
Oh, how I need Him!

Dependence – Jamie Slocum
…Just to know that you love me
gives me hope to carry on,
what can this world do to me?
Just to know that you're with me
and all these roads I travel on,
when all I have is gone,
I confess
my dependence on you….
Actually, I *LOVE* every part of this song. In my season of life, it is one of several songs that are ringing in my head when i wake up in the morning.
I'm a little late in the game but since music is one of the strongest ways in which God speaks to my heart, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to speak on it. So many times He has caught me off guard and slipped something into a song that He knew my heart was simply too hard to hear any other way, but I doubt any will be like the time I heard the song "By your side" by Tenth Ave. North — the gentle glow of His light penetrating the pitch blackness. It's so hard to pick just one line, but I'll try to exercise a lil self discipline 🙂
"when I drank the world's sin so I could carry you in and give you life- I want give you life."
"Set Me Free" by Casting Crowns … Who is this man that comes my way?
The dark ones shriek
They scream His name
Is this the One they say will set the captives free?
Jesus, rescue me
"Arise, My Soul Arise" – modern version of the old Wesley hymn as found here
http://www.igracemusic.com/ig1/
With confidence I now draw nigh,
With confidence I now draw nigh,
And 'Father, Abba, Father,' cry.
Also, the other day I found a Christmas CD in my car and figured that in this SWELTERING HEAT a little Christmas would be good. I played Little Drummer Boy – the Joan Jett version no less. And for some reason, every stinking time that song says "I played my best for him pa rum pa pum pum" I just LOSE IT.
Right now I'm loving the song Born Again by Third Day. This is my testimony: "I was broken beyond repair and you came along and you sang your song over me." Also the chorus: "Feels like I'm born again, feels like I'm living, for the very first time."
I'm in love with Jesus for all he's done in my life!
"Creed"
Recorded and written by Rich Mullins and later covered by Third Day.
"…and I believe what I believe is what makes me what I am. I did not make it. No, it is MAKING ME. It is the very truth of God and not the invention of any man."
I did not make it…it is making me–praise Jesus!
I always cry when I hear this song– Chris Rice's Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus) that gets me everytime.
"…if your sky is dark and pours the rain, cry to Jesus, cry to Jesus, cry to Jesus and live."
It reminds me I can go to God with anything.

Several songs on the new Don Poythress CD have really moved my heart, including "Faithful Love of Jesus," "I Will Bless the Lord at All Times," and "Fill Me Up."
Fill Me Up
(Don Poythress/Jared Anderson)
Jesus, I am thirsty, I am learning
How to hunger for more of you
You are the water, and you offer
Life that is making me new
Spirit come
Fill up my lungs with air
My voice with prayer
And my mouth with praise
Fill up my heart with song
For the journey is long
And I need your strength
Jesus, your love is more than enough
Come and fill me, fill me up.
Jesus, I need mercy, I need cleansing
From the burden of so many sins
You are the water, and I offer
All of my life into your hands
Spirit come
You are water to the desert
You are rain to the dust
You are healing to the broken
You are life, won't you come
God with Us by Mercy Me
Every time I hear "such a tiny offering compared to Calvary but nevertheless we lay it at your feet" makes cry out and glorify God all the more for we are not worthy of his unconditional love yet he loves us and I just want to give him all the glory and praise!! I just can't help myself and oh I love to sing it to the rafters with hands held high!!! Thank you Lord
My favorite song is "Redeemer" by Nicole C. Mullen –
"The very same God that spins things in orbit/He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak/
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken/
They conquered death to bring me victory/I know my redeemer lives.."
CeCe Winans-We Thirst for You!
I started to leave a comment a good half-hour ago…then got lost reading other comments, listening to the songs. Thanks! There are so many songs…but one I didn't see mentioned was Captivate Us by Watermark:
Captivate us Lord Jesus
Set our eyes on You
Devastate us with Your Presence falling down
And rushing river draw us nearer
Holy fountain consume us with you.
A Heart Like Mine by Bryan Duncan
"Your holy hands
hold me still,
shaping my heart anew.
A once vacant shell
now reclaimed
offers its praise to You.
The One who searched
till You found me,
a wounded lamb
who'd gone astray
You stopped the world
to recover me
Oh! Lamb of God
the price You paid
For a heart like mine."
Beth Moore,
I don’t know if you if you will even read this but I just have to tell you something and I didn’t know any other way to so I came on here.
Thanks you sooooooooooooooooo much for wearing the bracelet a friend and I gave you (the pink one from the Philippines). It made my weekend to see you wearing it; it meant more to me then you will ever know. I seriously almost started to cry. lol!
Anyways I just wanted to say thank you and let you know that now when I put mine on everyday I think of you, so I have made it a habit to pray for you and your ministry. Thanks again! I hope you enjoyed your basket!
With Much Appreciation,
Yvonne
'I Receive' by Israel Houghton. (From Cape Town, South Africa – currently doing the Esther course, it just arrived here… Impacting our small group massively.)
I have discovered your blog just this morning as I finish reading your newest book…curious to know what was going on in your blog on June 29, 2009, I am so touched by the song you posted. Around 8 am, nine months ago today, my closest friend was taken to be with Jesus in a car accident. The lyrics of "Come Thou Fount" have carried me these several months. I have listened to chris rice's version more times than I could begin to count! Something about his clear and peaceful voice makes the song that much more comforting!
"O that day when freed from sinning,
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothed then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day."
