Hi Siestas! I’ve been trying to come up with a great post about our first week with Annabeth, but I can’t seem to be in the right frame of mind to do it when I get a window of opportunity. I am so happy but sleepy and busy! So far, our adjustment has been a lot easier than it was when we had Jackson. It helps so much to have even the smallest clue what I’m doing this time. (Jackson’s diaper was the first I ever changed, if you can believe that.) Also, knowing that these sleepless nights really do end has done a lot for my attitude about sleeplessness. I find myself wanting to keep rocking my baby even after she falls asleep in my arms at night. I would give anything to go back and rock Jackson at this size one more time!
I know this post won’t address some of the questions I’ve been seeing about Annabeth’s name, how Jackson is doing, etc., but I plan on getting to those things soon. Thanks for all your sweet words over the last week. We love you girls!
This is Jackson at just a few hours old. My boy will turn three next Tuesday.
And here’s his little sister at just a few hours old.
Annabeth meeting her namesake for the first time.
Two grandmas trying to get a peek at their baby.
My mom and my sweet mother-in-law enjoying their first granddaughter.
This was right before we left the hospital.
You can see her going home outfit better here. I got that in the fall at Janie and Jack. It’s preemie size but still swallowed her. She had a matching hat and shoes, but they were enormous!
Here is Jackson holding Annabeth for the first time. He was so excited. We delayed this moment for quite a while just in case he was going to come down with that stomach bug. Unfortunately, he did get sick last night. At this point it seems to be a less evil strain of the virus than what my dad and sister had, for which I’m very thankful.
Here is a perfect picture of my son’s gorgeous eyelashes. I’m not ashamed to say I prayed for my daughter to be blessed with them. So far her eyelashes are blond. Her hair is light brown right now if you can’t quite tell.
Annabeth hanging out on her daddy.
The princess, all fresh and clean (and mad) after her first sponge bath at home.
Curt and Jackson went to church last night and my mom came over to keep us girls company. She brought Annabeth some preemie outfits so she would have something that fits for the next couple of weeks. They’re so sweet!
Look at those sweet little lips.
Leave it to me to show you a picture of baked goods. These are my favorite cookies in Houston. They’re from an Italian cafe’ called Paulie’s. Aren’t they beautiful? My co-workers brought us these, along with brownies and a feast of fajitas on the day we came home from the hospital.
Here’s the amazing cake we had at my LPM baby lunch. It was from Cake Affairs.
Those little lips! So sweet. ๐
Praying that the rest of your household does NOT experience the stomach bug. ๐
Thanks for popping over and sharing this time with us. ๐ Now…REST!!!
Hugs and blessings,
steph.
So beautiful…..we are so glad that you share your blessings with all of us thru your pictures and stories ;o)
Your cake brings back such sweet memories for me — Cake Affairs did our wedding cake 14 years ago! And everytime we come in town, we have that Chocolate Amaretto Cake that is tooo die for!
Enjoy every minute of that roceking as you can….my six year old will still ask me to rock him once in while if we are talking about when he was a little baby….
congratulations…..
Thanks for sharing with us these pictures and your joy over your new daughter…it is a privilege to get just a peek inside all of the excitement you and your family are experiencing.
God bless!
Connie
What a sweetheart.
I love the picture of Annabeth hanging out on her Daddy. Those newborn eyes get me every time.
My Jaxon will be two next week!
Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Be Blessed,

I LOVE the picture of Beth and Annabeth… Annabeth is just too precious! She’s so little ๐ too cute!
Absolutely beautiful! I believe she looks a little like Jackson. Ans somebody tell Beth to please SMILE! I am so happy for everyone and praying for many sweet days ahead. Love much, Carla Lee
Ok…of course I think every picture is the CUTEST ONE EVER! And, then to see your mom hold her…the one out in front….she looks like a tiny little doll. ๐ She’s just beautiful. And, I know you know that. And…that little Jackson is obviously taken with her. PA-RECIOUS!
Praying for you. Cherish these moments. You know how fast they go.
Hugs,
Fran
Oh she is sooo tiny and precious!!! Enjoy every moment! We can wait… =)

Thanks for the pics… beautiful, all the way around! I love the cookies and cake too (and truly, it’s not just my diet talking there!)
I have one question – does Beth ALWAYS look beautiful???? LOL
God bless y’all!
She is just beautiful Amanda. And Jackson has grown into such a little man. She is so lucky to have him as her big brother. You are in my prayers and I hope everything continues to go smoothly for you.

Annabeth is cute! I love her in the going-home outfit. You are so thoughtful to share your pictures with us.
Rock your baby. Love on your boy (more times before he turns 3). Enjoy, savor, drink up, smell, celebrate, “delight” in every moment.

This is a gift from the Father, enjoy it for…

You precious child —– taking the time to update us —- touched the heart – AND, can not believe that girl’s going home outfit – tres’ chic for sure!!!!
Jackson and Annabeth could have been twins at birth! And that pic of him holding her is adorable..so sweet! These pics really show us how tiny she is. She’s a little peanut!:) Oh, and those cookies and that CAKE look scrumptous..and SO pretty! Bet y’all enjoyed those! And Amanda, I’m serious…you look FANTASTIC in the pics I’ve seen since you gave birth!! You are glowing and just so beautiful..no hint that you just had a baby!
I know all of you are walking around on cloud 9 and I’m thrilled for you! Keep the pics coming..
Love ya,
Missy in SC
Precious just isn’t the word. She is absolutely amazing.
Both of your little ones are just beautiful and incredible.
Thank you for sharing the pictures!
I love the pictures! You are so blessed….enjoy her while she is still so little. It seems that my niece Kensley grew so quickly…can’t believe that she is now 5 months old!
Almost can’t remember that feeling of cradling a newborn…
My, those two babies look exactly alike (except Annabeth is ‘pink’)! Both are beautiful…all look happy and I am happy for you all!
Amanda, she is beautiful. What a precious gift! And I completely understand what you mean about wishing you had those moments with Jackson again. I feel the same with my kids (now ages 17, 15 & 12) all the time. But enjoy the moments you have now! Thank you for the pics. They brightened my day!!
Precious pics!!! Thank you so much for sharing them. Annabeth truly looks like a baby doll!!!
Blessings!
Amanda: Annabeth is just beautiful – so bright-eyed and alert. My heart is so happy for you all. One of my favorite lines from Gone With the Wind is when Mellie says “The happiest days are when babies come…” They are indeed!
Much love to you sweet girl,
Mrs. Jan
She’s beautiful! Loved the pictures of Jackson holding his baby sister, he looks like he’s going to be such a great older brother. You look great Amanda!
Amanda, How sweet of you to take the time & share with us. We love you guys so much and rejoice with you that Annabeth is in your arms and healthy. The picture of her and Jackson reminded me of when my kids were that age (almost exactly the same age span). My son's a married man now to a beautiful young lady (inside and out), and my daughter is living out of state, finished with college. Both love God and I'm so blessed. Just keep rocking her for as long as you want. Enjoy every precious stage with them both! God bless you!!!
I love the preemie clothes! She looks so comfortable in them.
I have the same pictures of my little Noah…me holding him, his other grandma and I looking in on him in the nursery and one of us holding him while the other looks on. The only thing we don’t have is his big sister holding him. When you ask if she wants to hold him she just says “no thanks” and goes on her merry little way! I love 3 year olds!
Enjoy every minute with them Bibby, I know I will with mine…..
What a gorgeous baby!! She is just adorable and soo tiny! But as everyone Im sure has told you, she will be grown before you know it.
I loved all the pics of sweet Annabeth but I think my favorite was the one of Bibby holding her in her new preemie outfits…Annabeth looks soo alert!! I mean, its like she is staring somebody down…to cute!!
Thank you for sharing the pictures with us! I can’t wait to see how she grows and how her and Jackson grow together!! Rest up!!
Love,
Nikki
she definitely has pretty lips…sweet…alli
I love it all! It’s making me want another so much more!! =)
She is absolutely gorgeous!
I love all the pictures, but the one of Annabeth in her coming home outfit made me laugh and get wistful. Our firstborn was a good-sized newborn, but her “newborn” sized outfit was ridiculous. I put it on her anyway, quietly ignoring the poofy legs and ballooning top, but my dear husband took one look and said, “Honey, look: you’ve given birth to a clown!” Now that clown is almost 8 years old and I can’t quite believe it. Cherish every second, because with the second, it’s sometimes even harder to remember!
Annabeth is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations Amanda, Curtis and Jackson!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful pics with us! My favorites were of Jackson holding “the girl”! Congratulations and God’s blessings on all of you!
LOVE her going home outfit!!!!
Jackson is so sweet! He looks like such a proud big brother!
Girls are just too fun!
Thanks so much for posting pictures and putting commentaries with each one! You gave us each a gift of your time in doing so. I appreciate it greatly!!!

Oh My Goodness, Amanda. The picture from last night of Annabeth and your mom is precious. The baby literally looks like a living doll.
How fun to share these precious moments right there in your home town with your sweet Momma. I’m salivating for a grand young ‘un. I suppose baby nephews and 3rd cousins will have to tie me over until my girls are married and ready for motherhood! But oh the day… I can hardly wait! (SORT OF)
She is beautiful as are you. She has such a legacy behind and before her. I pray you continue to find this season of adjustment easier and more delightful by the second. Tell Siesta Mama I started Breaking Free tonight with a group of ladies here in Saginaw. I believe it is going to be a grand ride.
BTW, My favorite part was when she elaborated on the story of Gideon toward the end. After Gideon heard the interpretation of the Midianites dream the first thing he did was worship. After God delivered the message of Gideon’s calling… Gideon offered a sacrifice of worship. OH MY GLORY! It hit me so beautiful and so fresh. Spiritual Battle does not begin with the first “blow” it begins with WORSHIP! Sweet Presence, fall on us…
Love you,
Michelle
You are so kind to share your precious family with us. And even kinder to do it when you have a newborn to care for. It IS so much easier with the second one, isn’t it?
Your son and daughter look like twins born 3 years apart!!
So happy for all of you!
Melana in Wyoming
What a blessing!! Give her lots of hugs and kisses from all the siestas” or shall we say “aunt-estas!”
Lord have mercy these pictures are precious! Enjoy your blessing! ๐
Amanda,
I can’t get over how much Annabeth looks like Jackson when he was born. What a truly wonderful mom you are to post Jackson’s pictures as well as Annabeth’s. You are making sure that he will not be feeling left out, as well as actually being meloncholy (sp) about the birth of your first.
Enjoy each and every blessed moment, including the tummy bug moments, they fly by too fast and then they try to convince you they don’t need you to fuss over them anymore. (We mom’s know different though. They always need us.)
Enjoy God’s Blessings.
Lori
The boys ALWAYS get the beautiful eyelashes.. They’re both such sweet babies!I Loved all the pics.

I have scrolled up and down and looked at these over and over for the last 15 minutes. The pictures are so wonderful, Amanda. I love the ones of Jackson holding Annabeth. And the ones of your mom and the baby, and the pictures of the little princess by herself. I love them all LOL! I couldn’t even pick a favorite!! Thank you for sharing these with us!
Thanks so much for the pictures and update. She’s so sweet, and Jackson is, too! He looks like such a proud big brother. ๐ Congratulations!
