I just got to talk to my mom and wanted to give everyone an update. It sounds like things are going very well so far at the Breaking Free re-taping. Mom said it was a true miracle of God, possibly even a sign of the return of our Lord, that she has stayed within her 60 minute time limit for all three sessions. (Kidding. Let’s not get a letter circulating!) That has never happened even one time in all of her tapings! When she goes over her allotted time, it always makes things harder on the editors and on Beth herself because they have to hack away at the lesson. So praise God with us for this miracle and let’s ask Him to keep it up!
One prayer request for today is for plenty of energy and rest. Mom slept very little last night. She went to bed around 11 p.m. and woke up at 2 a.m. and couldn’t go back to sleep. She really struggles with sleep after she teaches at night, whether at a Living Proof Live event, a taping, or even Tuesday night Bible study. She gets really wired and her mind can’t stop teaching. She is teaching two sessions each evening for this taping, so it’s twice as challenging. Even though she’s tired, she is in very good spirits and is believing God to give her everything she needs for tonight.
Please ask God to keep her in good health. Also pray that all 11 sessions will have the full energy of the Holy Spirit. Pray that not one of them will drop, in Jesus’ name!
Several of our siestas are attending the taping, including JennyHope, who keeps everyone in stitches. I’ve even heard a rumor that she may have bequeathed a jumbo pencil and back scratcher to Beth. (Maybe she will enlighten everyone who wasn’t at the Siesta Fiesta as to the significance of this gift.) If any of our other siestas attending the taping are online today, let us know you’re there. Mom wants a list of names!
Y’all should know that my husband Curtis is normally the first person to complete my mom’s Bible studies (that we know of), but we think JennyHope is going to have him beat on Esther. Jenny has confessed to having stalked her LifeWay store until she got her copy. I’m not sure Curtis is going to do Esther: It’s tough being a woman. But if he does, he can write “It’s tough being married to a woman” on the cover.
Thanks for your prayers, ladies! They really do make a huge difference. We love y’all!
PS – We should be hearing from Melissa soon!
hahaha Oh Curtis. My husband would give him a hearty AMEN for that one! I am stalking my lifeway for Esther…can’t wait to get my hands on it. Will be praying for Beth!
JennyHope should do some stand-up to warm up the crowd before Beth teaches. That girl had our room in San Antonio laughing all night long. (You think I’m kidding don’t you!) I just love her.
Praying over this week with you!
stephanie
Thanks for the update, I’ll definitely keep Beth in my prayers for a rested sleep each night and a healthy week. (A safe trip home, too!)
I can’t wait to get Esther and get started!! We’re finally getting settled, so-to-speak, and can’t wait to get right smack in the middle of that study.
Cyber hugs to all of you. I feel like I’ve been on another planet these last 3 months w/o a computer connection. We’re too far out to get DSL right now–I just about lost it all when I heard that!! But the air card is working great, so I’m forever grateful to the brilliant person that created that!!
Blessings, Bobbie
I have been on my knees! God just puts them on my heart all day long! So you all are covered here!
Love it about the backscratcher and jumbo pencil… hysterical… I can just hear Jenny telling that story with her cute accent!
So wish I could be there… am in my heart!
God Bless- Emmy : )
1st time responder…although I read the blog all of the time. I’m just a couple of hours from New Orleans in Mobile, AL. I am praying for Beth and all the staff of Lifeway that will make this taping come about. Beth I saw you @ UNO several years back, that message really was a pivotal point in my walk with the LORD. Anytime Satan tries to scare me death over something…I pray to LORD and call Satan’s bluff.

Oh that Jenny! Wish I was there laughing my fool head off with the rest of the group!
Oh that Beth! Praising Him for keeping her on task and so open to His leading.
Oh that God! Isn’t He just SOMEthing?!
There are lots of us Siestas in New Orleans! We are actually having a small Siesta gathering for lunch today! We set that up on the Siestas in New Orleans blog (http://siestas-n-neworleans.blogspot.com). My name is Sarah and I live in New Orleans and am so glad to have this taping here. I am also excited about the partnership with the Baptist Friendship House, as I have been a volunteer there for a few years now and that’s actually the reason I moved to New Orleans! Such a wonderful ministry! My mom, Pam, who is also a Siesta is here as well.
We also have Kay, another siesta with us.
I am so in prayer for you Beth and the whole taping! I am so excited and thankful right now – y’all just don’t know! I work at FBC Clarksville, TN and have the privilege of ordering discipleship materials and of course that includes Beth Moore Bible studies! I ordered Esther when it was first available to order at Lifeway and it came in today! I am so excited and thankful. Beth, God created you to do these types of studies for people like me – those of us who hunger to go deeper with God and in His Holy Word but don’t have the ability YET to do that without this type of study. I have been in prayer over Esther for a while now and am so excited that you shared life experiences on the blog while writing Esther and I now get to study God’s word through this study. God has led me to offer this study to fellow Church secretaries here in the office and we’re going to dig in next Thursday on our lunch break. There are a few who have never done this type of study and I’m so excited to introduce them to the opportunity to go deeper with God. Just praising Him today! God Bless You All – Dana in Clarksville
Praise the Lord!!! You know we want every minute of your mom’s anointed teaching but I know time limits are in place for a reason. Praise the Lord that He has answered prayers!
I’ll be praying for good rest for Beth tonight! I bet she’s a delight when she’s wired up — or fired up! (o:
Blessings!
I wish I were in New Orleans… but alas here I sit praying and reading and preparing to teach a lesson of my own tonight.
I understand all about that time limit thing. Our fourth week we went way over – and the cleaning lady was waiting outside our door where we got a gentle reprimand about being on time. Thank goodness my sessions are only taped for my note taking purposes to critique myself.
Anyway, I am praying for Beth. For her to have rest. I know what you mean about the sleep as well. I assembled, taught at and even had to fill in for the key note speaker (her mother died the week of our conference) a conference at our church one year. I had a lot of help, and it was by standards a very small affair, but I stayed up all night long preparing – ran on Holy Spirit power all day and fell into the couch at home with ice packs on both legs. It took me at least three or four hours to get settled down enough to sleep.
Anyway, we are praying and loving on your mom from a distance. I am sure your mom is doing an amazing job and praise God for the timing issues. She is a gloriously faithful servant. Blessings.
Our church pre-ordered the Esther DVD set and it came in on Monday…I have had to control myself and wait to dig in because we aren’t starting it until Jan. It has been hard. Right now, we are Wising Up!
My friend Rhonda Hollis and I are here in New Orleans at the taping and are enjoying it so much.
Beth absolutley brought the WORD last night!
And Lisa Pierre…..WOW! She has an amazing voice! We want to know the name of the song she sang last night about the woman who touched Jesus’ hem. It had us both in tears.
We are looking forward to the rest of the week.

Praise the Lord for how He has worked through your Mom the last 2 nights… I have been praying and am so glad that she has been in the 60 minute time frame!!!! We’ll keep praying for rest, health, and an ear for what God wants to say through her. Thank you for the update!
Love,
Tara
PS. So glad that Melissa will be back with us in Siestaville soon! We’ve missed her! Maybe she can give us an update on the LIT class-I’ve been praying hard for that too!
Praying for your Mama. Praying for His strength and joy in her to be to the overflow…my Chris and I love y’all so much!
I told Sophie that she needs to have Jenny on a podcast and get her to tell the story!
Every night this week as I laid my head down on my pillow, the Lord brought Beth to my mind. I will continue to pray for her strength and for the outpouring of God’s spirit.
Blessings,
Kimberly
Oh…. my Jennyhope!! You know I love ya and think you are “it on a stick!” ๐ You inspire me, make me laugh, encourage me, teach me, help me!!!
Love you all. Praying Beth, team, and attendees all the way through!
Hugs and blessings~
Fran
Hi Amanda,
Praise the Lord for the staying within 60 minute time limit and I will be continuing to pray for Beth, the team and each participant!
Jennyhope sounds like a riot and I missed meeting her twice! I didn't get to meet her in San Antonio (but did see her and laughed and laughed at her "hair" questions during the Q & A time). Then, I found out after the fact that she was in Trussville, AL when Travis did concert there. Keep up the comic relief, Jennyhope. Can't wait to meet you one day!
Love to all,
Dianne
Thank you for sharing about Beth’s teaching induced insomnia. I suffer from the same thing everytime I teach/speak in the eveings. I shared this with a fellow teacher once, calling it my ‘ministry hangover’…never had a real one but I’m assuming the way I feel the next day is pretty close :)…and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. Beth’s experience makes me feel validated! Enough about me…Beth and the rest are in my prayers!!!
Serving Him with you,
~Michelle in Idaho
Tell Beth that when I can’t sleep I usually start thinking of every scripture I can think of that starts with each letter of the alphabet. I start with A and go from there. I’m usually asleep by G or H….just a thought to help our Mama Siesta get some sleep at night. We’re praying!!!
Praying!!
Being a Pregnant Girl right now, I have been waking up often during the night. Beth, you’ll be on my heart. Blessings of sweet rest from the One Who gives sleep to His bleloved dear one!!!
Thanks for the update. Our God is so great and ever faithful.
I’m a Siesta that lives in Houston. I got tickets for my mom and a friend who live in New Orleans! I know they have attended. My mom’s name is Jenny and her friend is Rena!!!
I’ve been praying for Ms.Beth!
Other studies of Beth’s have been wonderful and fascinating, but this Esther study has taken on a life of it’s own for the simple reasons: it is for women AND both Melissa and Amanda contributed and show their fingerprints!!
I do not have it yet, but will have to get it for the simple reasons stated above!
So glad to hear that N.O. is going well. I wondered if we would hear updates during the week. Bless Beth’s heart – I know how rough it is to wind down after exciting moments of learning in God’s Word.
I still love the story about Jenny stalking the Lifeway store! So awesome!
Amanda, I was watching one of the DVDs to the Woman’s Heart study this morning, and I saw Jackson’s baby pics that your mom had brought with her so we could see. I had a very long “Awwww” moment ๐
I’ll definitely continue playing for your mom as she continues taping.
Amanda,
I totally understand the insomnia thing that your faces after an evening taping. I have the same kind of problem prior to or after large events. And I know for your mom, if she is anything like me, it’s very hard on her the next day. I will pray for her.
I can’t wait to start Esther. We just finished “Stepping Up” in church. I am doing “Living Beyond Yourself” on my own and I also have a few CD’s on John from LPM. My girls always know when they call me and I’m in the car because they hear Beth in the background! They call her the “other Beth”. I know I am OCD about her teachings, but every single tape I listen to teaches me so much. It makes me so hungry for the WORD! Praise God for willing servants of the Lord. I pray for continued strength for Beth this week.
Amanda – you are so precious! I so enjoy your posts and love to hear about Jackson and the new one on the way. I have 4 grandchildren myself (I am only 46!) and my youngest daughter is expecting another little boy in April. Your stories make me laugh and usually ring true to our family.

So grateful for the update; I’ll be including Beth and her ministry in my prayers! God Bless!

I will pray God’s blessings on our precious Beth for good health, peaceful sleep and rest and a safe trip home to her love ones. I know that the Holy Spirit will be with her at each session – her gift is from Him.
Love and Prayers,
Cindy
Praise God for strength while teaching……so glad to hear things are going so well. Except for the lack of sleep. Will be sure and pray for that….that the mind shuts down and she gets her rest.
We start our Esther study in Jan….Jan 6 to be exact. We are all so excited!!!
Blessings to all…

Hey Amanda!!
I am checking in for three siestas attending the taping.
Terri Perry (terrijoperry)
Sherri Sharron (ssharron)
Melissa Gay(jcil2me)
It has been amazing!!! No retakes!
Thanks for letting us know how we can pray for your mom.
Blessings,
Sherri
Amanda,
Becky asked about the song last night. It’s “One Touch” by Nicole C. Mullen and it’s on the Sharecropper’s Seed Vol. 1.
I can hardly wait til we start
Esther in Jan. My church (FBC Jackson,Ga) does WALK THRU BETHLEHEM each year in Dec. so we are way too busy to start until Jan. Wish we could do it sooner!
Thank you LORD that you are taking care of Beth and keeping her on time. Love the blog!
There are some hilarious pix of Jenny at the taping on Facebook. They had me cracking up!! I think some of them are actually on her blog too. That girl is just downright crazy (in a godly way, of course)!
Tell Beth I’m praying for her. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of energy to sustain such an endeavor. Stay strong, Beth. And is she needs a break, just tell her to look Jennyhope’s way in the congregation.
Much love,
~Cheryl
I asked God to let me attend these tapings for my birthday…. but the tickets were gone. Trusted that it wasn’t God’s will. Turns out I wouldn’t have been able to attend anyway because my 18 month old has been in the hospital for the last week. I would’ve been sick about it if I’d had the tickets…. God knows best.
Anyway, I did meet with my Bible Study Girls last night (Believing God), and we prayed specifically for Beth’s taping of Breaking Free.
May her every Word be consumed with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Rebekah in Jacksonville, Fl
I’m praying as well, love you all.
%%%% Listen….this is totally unrelated and could have been brought up at an earlier posting but would it be possible to have one spot to post everyones blog sites and/or face book sites. I’d love to connect with everyone that way as well. Many names and faces (all these wonderful people I now call my friends…whom I have ever even met) But converse with more than most of my own family.
Anyway, I’d love to connect with more of you.So visit me at

PRAISE GOD! SWEET VICTORY OVER THE CLOCK, AT LAST!! I can testify to the miracle – having prayed over her (the clock and my friend, the timekeeper, too) at Tuesday night Bible study.
Sitting in my seat, I’ve been on my face before the Lord, interceding for Beth (and Kathy) over technical difficulties and time constraints. What a JOY to celebrate such praise! In awe of Him, and continued prayer…
Praying for Beth and the editing involved in Breaking Free…
Praying for JennyHope… that God would grant her patience (hee-hee)
Praying for Curtis… do I need to say anything more that that?? ๐
We love our Jenny!! That girl is hoot!! Her and I got Esther at the same time but I haven’t started mine yet…I plan on it next week…I have to finish my other Bible study first. The JUMBO pencil and backscratcher is so perfect and so Jenny. You should shop in CVS with her OR better yet, have her bless a meal. ROFL!!
I will continue to pray for Beth’s energy and sleep. I have been praying for that and will step up the prayers for that. Tell Beth to read Psalm 4. ๐
Much love,
Patty
Hi Amanda! I’m Mary from Remlap, Alabama and I’m here in New Orleans! Some other Siestas here are Traci from Kentucky and Di….. I don’t know where Di is from. Oh, and Vicky from Eufala, Alabama.
Oh my, I’m praying for Beth and for all those who are at the taping awesome stuff. I’ve blogged on it every night.
Awesome news! I will keep praying.
Hugs
Mary
I pray that God will give Beth the strength and inspiration of the Holy Spirit during her remaining sessions. I struggle with sleeping all night as well because of menopause. It sure puts a drag on your energy reserve. But God’s strength is renewing! I know He will sustain her.
That must have been why God woke me up last night at 3am I just started praying but had no idea who it was for ๐
I love when He does that
Oh and Jenny hope is a RIOT!
I love her
Praying over it all
Blessings
Kim
Thank you, Amanda, for the update! Yes, I’ll continue praying for Beth and everyone else there. Glad to hear it’s going well!

Thank you for the update, I’m glad to hear that the taping is going so well and will keep praying for your Mom! I too am excited that Esther is on the shelves!! We’re going to do the study in January but I will probably buy it WAY before then! If I lived near a Lifeway I would’ve been stalking the store too.
Praying for you Beth…Wish that I could be there!
I finally saw the Esther study yesterday at my christian book store (Beardsley’s Book and Bible)…I hope that my church decides to do the study in January!
I am getting ready to go through the Daniel study with my friend Cheri…very excited about that!
Ironically, I listen to Beth, Jennifer Rothschild, Priscilla Shirer and others on my iPod when I can’t sleep. I might as well be hearing the Word while I am just laying there!!
