    Fall is a busy time.
    – I am in the process of painting the walls and ceiling throughout the house (this will take all of fall, all of winter, most of the spring of 2009 and maybe some of the summer – no hurry here!)
    – my kids are both in school full-time so I will do some volunteer work there.
    – I am doing Stepping Up with a more mature christian group, doing When Godly people do ungodly things with a young group of christians, and studying the book of Romans with some gal pals that I have found.
    – Painting the chicken coop (hopefully)
    – GARDENING! getting ready for next year
and if that is not enough for one day then I guess I have decided to put in quite a few nanking cherry bushes, some gooseberry bushes, get my grapes ready for winter and get a spot ready for my soon-to-ship raspberries.

I love life!! God is so good and has been gracious to me and my family. After years of being sick I am FULLY enjoying my time on the well side of life! Praise Jesus!

    Blessings –

I am facilitating Beth’s “The Patriarchs” on Tueday mornings at my home, and Tuesday evenings at the church I attend. They are both open to the community and about 40 ladies attend from all different denominations. My man and I also attend a Bible study in our community during the week. I have been doing this for about 5 years and have been so blessed by the “home girls”, and the “church gals” it is always exciting. God is so incredible. Every other month from September to April myself and a sweet sister put on a Wommen’s Community Breakfast with Beth as our speaker, via DVD. It just doesn’t get better than this, this side of heaven.
We are all so blessed by Beth and can’t wait to see her in New England in October. I will be attending the one in NH and Conneticut. I am sure we will all be buzzing the following week.
You guys are the best and we love you so and love being a part of your family through this blog.

The smell of soccer cleats and sweaty shin gaurds is in the air!!
So, here we go again, starting out at soccer games wearing shorts and t-shirts sweating to death and ending up huddling under three layers of clothes and a blanket sipping hot chocolate. Crazy!!

We are going to do the “No Other Gods” study this fall at my church to engage people into true and free worship. I can’t wait ’cause I sure like to be free in my worship and I am anxious for others to see the relevance!

Anticipating Christmas as me and the kids start listening to holiday music in August and still get just as excited as if it were almost here!

Going to sound/media/worship conference to sharpen those skills!

Anything my sweet Daddy God asks me to do…I know, I know, that is a scary proposition, but I mean it with everything in me…whatever it takes to please Him…whatever plays the strings of His heart and whatever allows Him to freely play mine…I have learned that my soul can’t dance without Him and boy do I want to dance!!! WOO HOO!!

    Siesta OC says:

    Thanks for asking.
Well, I recall Beth asking in one of her talks, “If your life was a book, what would the title be? Knowing God in the…?
I would have to say that this fall is Knowing GOD in the rebuild.
You see, like a sheep, I unknowingly kept going atray from what GOD had for me. But like THE GOOD sheppard he is, he went to find me. I have been a believer for most of my whole life, but I don’t think I really got it (it is possible).
My pastor explained about sheppards and how they will leave the flock to find the one that went astray and even though it is a gnarly concept (sorry, OC terms) he will break the legs of the sheep to make sure they don’t stray again. But, and here is the beauty, in breaking the legs, the sheppard knows he must invest the time to carry the sheep until he/she heals.
God Broke me about a year ago, and at the moment he did, it was like I could hear him telling me in the deepest part of my soul that he had to.
But now, a year later and I feel like we are about to rebuild. Prayers would be awesome as I want to help the divine partcipation of the rebuild. I need to learn to do what God wants me to do, even when I know what he wants me to do(I’ve never been good at obedience). But I want to have the freedom and finally get it, as Beth would say, “live the thing,”
    Thanks for letting me ramble,

    m

I am looking forward to what God has instore for the women at LOCC in Newbury Park, CA.

Hey Amanda, I’m so excited about Fall Bible Study. I will probably ask my husband to buy me the audio cds for Esther this Christmas – I got the cds for Stepping Up last Christmas.

I still need to finish a Woman’s Heart, but since joining my life group I have been doing Beth’s studies on my own.

My life group will be doing a fabulous study on the Song of Solomon that my life group leader wrote this summer. I can’t wait to see what she has written…

We did her “Walking In Victory” study in the Spring and it totally blessed my soul.

These are medium depth studies so I always supplement with another study — sans the Beth solos.

I love it. Bible study, Bible study, Bible study. I will likely be fine tuning the curriculum I have written as well.

God is so good ladies… Oh and lately God keeps telling me to be a tree – so maybe I’ll do some digging into what that looks like for me! I wrote about it at my blog if you are wondering what I am talking about. But anywho… Love You guys and be blessed.

-Psalms of Ascent bible study on Tues. mornings, ofcourse! Already making plans to do Esther in the spring! (Lots of people are!)
-My 3 year old, Megan, has preschool @ Cross of Christ on Tues. and Thurs. afternoons. I'm scrapbooking and exercising during that time. It's my "me" time.
-Lots of h.w. every weekday afternoon with my second grader, Matthew.
-Singing to Jesus in my courtyard (and I can't sing…at all.) Ya'll would love this special place. I live in AZ, and we have gorgeous blue skies during the day, and awesome pitch black skies @ night sprinkled with a ton of stars. ๐Ÿ™‚ Always a delight to sing to Jesus while looking @ His vast creation up there. One day, he might surprise me and might come riding in on his horse, while I am out there singing to Him.
-Taking the small patch of grass out of the front yard & replacing it with all low water, desert landscaping. We're doing most of the work ourselves (o.k. my HUSBAND is, who am I kidding?)
By the way, wouldn't it be a HOOT if Beth ever surprised a bible study of hers going on somewhere in the nation. As in ding-dong, it's me Beth! Just came by to do a little bible study with you! It would be like the Christian version of Oprah knocking on your door with people freaking out. Love you, Siestas.

Great question, Amanda! It was fun reading everyone's posts.

What this fall looks like for me….

    — Continue to homeschool my 2 kids (ages 11 & 8), including re-learning some algebra(!).
    — Help a friend with preparations for her wedding in Nov. here in Houston (she's waited many years for the Lord to bring the right man into her life and I’m SO excited for her!).
    — Pray for and wait on the Lord for a new job for my husband (while trying to be willing-hearted to go wherever the Lord wants to send us–I love Houston and can hardly stand the thought of leaving).
    — Start attending Wed. night events at our church for the first time ever. I’m not 100% sure it’ll work out, but it’s looking pretty good so far. The kids are older and so I don’t mind them staying out on school nights as much. I was able to go to your husband’s class this past Wed. with my 11-year-old son (while the little girl was in kids’ choir) and we both thought his teaching on Elijah was great! It was our first time to hear him speak, and we’re both looking forward to coming again.
    — Try to get regular with my exercise routine!

Well, a good start, at the moment my parents are visiting from England (I married a Rhode Islander!)

    – Next week I start doing ‘First Place 4 Health’, I have joined a group starting at church. Scary but I need to change my focus from food to God and sort it out healthwise (physically and spiritually) This program is my fall priority, God even provided a way that the church could help pay for the literature etc for me.

    – My dear hardworking husband is teaching 3rd thru 5th grade Sunday school

    – I am job hunting! Please pray ladies, I need to have a change in my job situation and I await what God has planned! Praise God He provided financially today with a gift check from a church friend back in England, as an anniversary present, with perfect timing.

    – My 4th wedding anniversary this month, and celebrating that I am now a permanent resident of the USA after about 5 years of going through the visa/immigration process! The things we do for love, eh?!

    – A fab day at the Christian Book distributors warehouse sale today, got me some stuff and some gifts and a little Beth Moore to share with friends! And the new Sisterchicks book which is ‘Sisterchicks go Brit’ …perfect for me…lol…and some good books for Mom to take home to England!

ok, I should go to bed if I’m to be fit for church…oops, its already Sunday NOW!
