Precious Siesta Friends:
My birthday was Wednesday. Today, my husband and I are closing on a house…our new home!!! What a fabulous birthday present and it came with a ton of miracles from the Lord (long, long, long story!). We are so excited and so grateful. I just want to cry all day! I understand perfectly what the woman felt as she washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. If He were here with skin on, I’d do the same! But since He is invisible right now, I just praise Him and testify to His great mercy and goodness because I know He is here with me right now!
Thanks for letting me rejoice with my favorite Siestas!

Finishing “Take it to the Limit” Bible Study by Andy Stanley, starting “Organic God” by Margaret Feinberg. High school Junior playing baseball, 7th grader playing volleyball, volunteering at church!
Both my kids are in school now and I’m trying to figure out what to do and who to be. It’s kinda lonely.

It is crazy busy but we are handling it! It has caused our family to be very disciplined, which is an amazing thing! Nobody complains about doing homework, everybody is eating dinner with thanksgiving! It is truly all good!
YAY!
The ladies of our church are in the middle of the “Breaking Free” series and the Lord is truly with all of us through the study.
Plan on enjoying my new grandson and 5 other beautiful grandchildren. Rejoicing with all of my family as I watch them grow in the Lord.
Waiting on the Lord to see where he takes me next. It should be a glorious ride!
Blessings to you and your family.

Well my husband and I are in a Musical called "The Promise" in Glen Rose, TX – which tells the complete story of Jesus Christ's Life, Death & Resurrection. It is all live and is performed at the Texas Amphitheatre. We Open the show TONIGHT! (be in prayer for that)
All Siestas in Texas should come and see it. This is our 20th year. It's where my husband & I met! ๐
– husband a theatre teacher, so we have fall plays to attend, football games.. school stuff
– our church will be starting a Beth Moore bible study soon, which is TBA.
Exciting stuff & very busy!
My plans so far are:
* Going on vacation – Yes!!!
* Basking in the autumn weather that our brilliant God has made!
* Teaching my Young Adult S.S. class
* Doing the Bible study: “A Woman’s Heart”
We should rejoice and be glad in each day God gives us, but it sure is easier this time of year:)
Beth-
A group of women studied the Psalms of Ascent in a home bible study this summer in Fuquay-Varina, NC. (I know you are familiar with the town because of Debbie and the late Pastor Buddy Walters.) They were actually my neighbors and friends before the Lord called Buddy home. But you asked what we were doing this fall- I am so excited to say that because of the excitement of the summer study, we attended the Aug. Simulcast and are organizing a women’s Sunday night study using “Breaking Free”. Your studies have given focus to our desires to know God better through his Word and to love and share Jesus more and more. Thank you and may God continue to use you to fan the flames of the Holy Spirit. You are remembered often in my prayers. Leanne Walters in Fuquay-Varina, NC
I’m just finishing up a group bible study – the “Breaking Free” one – whew! Hopefully will be starting a new study.
* Ladies retreat on the coast with a group of ladies from our church, will be muy fantastic!
* Scrapbooking retreat – all weekend just scrapbooking and chatting!
* Must do some sewing and knitting, have lots of projects in my “to do” basket.
* Possibly start making Christmas cards or gifts???
Besides that, who knows??? I love Fall though so I’m looking forward to it ๐

Our life is very full and extremely busy in this season.
Well – let’s see…
Walking around for a few more weeks in these stinkin!! boots!!
Trying to make it through tennis season and get a few more wins.
Hubby starting to travel more and kids doing all the fall sports!
Wanting to start a Moms In Touch ministry but can’t seem to find anyone to pray with…
Just a plethora of things!! Only He knows, truly!!!
Love, Leigh
Our bible study group is going to dive back into Daniel for a second time. We all enjoyed it so much the first time we want to take a second look! Also squeezing in a “sisters weekend” with my two sisters, soaking up a week of sun and fun on San Diego Beach and bracing myself for a very busy Christmas portrait season (which always begins in the fall!)! That’s what we are up to!
-My husband is starting back to school to pursue a degree towards christian counseling.
-I am participating in Can We Talk? by Priscilla Shirer.

Our family is taking part in a new satalite church plant. We start this Sunday.
I’m teaching a “Community Bible Study” class – studying Genesis this year.

We’re loving life with two pre-teens, and trying to soak in every moment of it!

My aunt (who should be my sister we are so close in age) and I are starting Stepping Up in the morning at a church that is not our own and we are so exited to get started and meet some ladies that we don’t know. We did the same thing with Breaking Free and we have formed some lasting friendships with the ladies at that church. Our church doesn’t do bible studies right now so we go wherever we can get them within a 20 minute drive. I am just sure that God has us travelling for a reason, it is an adventure.
I can’t wait for the leaves to turn and the cool air of fall. The leaves are so pretty here in WV. I’m looking forward to a fall country road drive with the moon roof open.
We are taking vacation in October! Yay! Going to a place in Orlando, FL called the Holyland Experience. I can’t wait!
I am
-awaiting the birth of my son and his wife’s first baby due Sept. 25 – a girl!
– Then in October I will be seeing my oldest daughter and her husband off to NYC where they will be self-supporting missionaries – doing church plants in the city. I am very proud of them but so sad to see them go because they will be taking my 20 month old grandson and she is expecting twins in December.
– In the meantime my 15 year old daughter is keeping me busy with her activities. Shes on the go constantly!
Kathy in TN
– Our family is completely entrenched in Friday night football, Saturday afternoon football, and practice on most every night other than that.
– I’m working on book edits and material for retreats I’m teaching.
– Especially looking forward to one of those retreats taking place next weekend in the mountains. My daughter is turning 6 and I’m taking her with me to enjoy the scenery and shopping during our down times. Our first mommy/daughter trip – and it’s for Bible Study! Praise Him!
I am taking four classes – hope to graduate in May. Participating in Psalms of Ascent, babysitting my 13 month old grandson, and working hard at complaining less. I can’t wait till fall actually comes to Atlanta – my favorite season.
Of course, the most important thing ๐ – UGA football – GO DAWGS!

Already decorated the house for fall so that has already set the mood for…
-more homemade baking/cooking.
-reading bible blogs to get me through before the next bible study begins in January.

I love fall and am so anxious for the cooler weather. I have getting organized as a goal this fall. Summertime was very relaxing, but now it’s time to get on track. I’m sorry to say that even my quiet-times fell to the side….. So, looking forward to organization, cooking, and a new bible study group ~~~ the girls from our NOG study decided to continue meeting.
Thanks for asking!

— Bible Study: we're thinking of doing "Dinner & a Movie: Chick Flicks" because women in our group cannot read (we’re open for any ideas?!?!!? a Bible study with/for illiterate women). I have the Stepping Up book, but no one to do it with and no videos.
Finally, we’re going on a four state tour (FL, GA, TN, IN) to solicit HUGS and Fellowship (in English!) from October 17 – Nov 7. Email me for info – would love to meet LMP Blog readers!

We taught a program called Pioneer Evangelism on discipleship, evangelism and church planting. Check out jeanstockdale.typepad.com for pictures and stories. God is doing amazing things in the uttermost parts of the world! Thanks for asking!
We had an exchange student from Korea stay with us over the summer, and because of that we’re taking our break from school this fall. (I’m homeschooled.) I’m doing a mother/daughter Bible study with some of my friends, doing childcare for MOPS, and starting the year for the Christian theatre group I’m in. Then we’ll be traveling from NC to SD for Thanksgiving!
“What about that Sarah Palin?” Wow!–Hello, Girlfriend/Sister–even making her providential entrance on the national stage right when Beth starts the “Esther Show”!!!!!! And McCain’s speech last night!!! He may be the most authentic public servant (as opposed to ambitious politician) since George Washington! Seriously, all he really wanted to do was be on his beloved Mt. Vernon with Martha and the kids; but, as it turned out he answered the call–indeed, the plea–of duty from the American people for almost his entire life. “Who woulda thunk”…that this is turning out to be such an amazing, exciting AND historic election afterall? God does Bless America! AMEN?
“And all His little children said, ‘AMEN!'”

Sincerely,
Okie Girl!

Love you all

I am looking forward to fall this year more than I have in a long, long time. And I am so looking forward to fall – the smells, the colors, the weather, the fun! Here's what my clan of four is doing this fall:
-me –> work
-husband –> in his junior year of college, biomedical engineering – Lord help us, and I am not just saying that, really Lord, please help us!!
– son –> Kindegarten, and I am still emotional, but he is having a blast, though I am going to have to talk to his teacher because according to him, they don't learn anything, ever, nothing
– daughter –> 3 yrs old and the princess of the house. She is just having fun being a kid – no activities!!
– the 'Breaking Free' study at church
-planning my dad's 60th bday party
rebecca
We are “Stepping Up” until “Esther” arrives!!
I am in the throws of 2 football teams. One for my 7 year old and one for my 11 year old!
I was also truly convicted by the simulcast to give my first fruits of time each morning to God.
Hopefully in October we will start “When Godly People Do UnGodly things”
Not to mention just being back to school!
