Not much on tap for us this fall. Hopefully getting more time to rest at home! Summer was busy! My boss is going on maternity leave in November, leaving me to run the department – so I’ll be gearing up for that mainly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy your Fall! (I can’t believe it’s that time of year already)

We are converting a garage into a “man cave” for our 15-year-old son. I already miss my garage! We’ll put up a carport, though. When the man cave is finished, I get a spare bedroom back and plan to just clean up in general – organize and throw out!

Our Bible Study group will be doing Stepping Up. We have been doing Wising Up, and believe it or not, I’m ready for some homework!

After a full year of planning, closing in on a cruise with my husband where we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We’ll visit the city my grandmother left to come to America almost 100 years ago (the very port!) in Panama; also visit Columbia; Costa Rica; Aruba; Grand Cayman; and more. We will celebrate a relationship God started when we were in middle school! So excited to take this time for ourselves…we’ve taken no other time off for over a year!

Am i the only one “wandering in the wilderness?” who really does not know what to do or can’t seem to find any direction in their life?

I am so blessed. Just had our 11th grandbaby born yesterday.

    But, i feel so lost.

So many things have happened in my family’s life in the last few years.

I love God and am praying for direction.

Our Monday Night Bible Study group at church will be doing To Live is Christ beginning this Monday. We have not visited this study in quite a few years and for some it will be a first. We are excited about how God will use this study to draw us closer in our walk with Him.

Being on the coast of North Carolina, right now we are bracing for Hanna and praying Ike will temper down before making his presence known.

    Blessing to all of you,

This list could continue on and on…

Miss Beth, I wanted you to know my DH and I said our final good-byes to our Tucker {Yellow Labrador of 11} on Tuesday evening. I thought of you as the tears rolled down. Both Ted and I prayed for you and Keith -that those two pups fill your heart with a new joy. We also have Thomas {Choc Lab-4}. I am so happy to have him to love on, but it is also tough to see him waiting for Tucker to come home. Anyway, thinking and praying for you!

    Have a wonderful FALL!

My schedule is plenty full. I’ve got two art shows I’m getting ready for, one in October and another in November. I need to be busy painting, but I also started a remodle on my laundry room, pulling up linoleum and putting down tile and adding new cabinets. It’s and exhausting job. Classes started at our local extension of Covington Seminary last week so I have to prepare to teach that. I’m teaching Old Testament Survey this year and I’m excited about that because I love the stories and lessons of the Old Testament. Then on Sunday I will teach my first class of elementary students, I’ve never taught kids before, always adults, should be interesting. Then on Monday I lead a small group of women who quilt. We take others quilt tops and put them together and quilt them bu hand. We use the money we earn for missions and special projects around the church. I also have my own sewing business out of my home and I have at least 3 weddings coming in over the next two months, gowns to make or alter. Well that’s my fall unless I find something else to add to it.

I started “Stepping Up” with a group of ladies at a home Bible study last Wednesday and it is GOOD!
In October, we’re travelling to Albuquerque to spend time with my in-laws. It’s been 10 years since I visited southwest USA and I’m looking forward to the great Mexican food, mesas, and beautiful sunsets.
Every Friday is high school football night – yeah for Nacho chips, jalapeno peppers and cheese!
We’re babysitting our grandsons twice a week which keeps us busy (how did I do it when I was twenty-something with three children under four years old?)

I’m doing the “Stepping Up” Bible study at our church. I’ve missed the Daniel study and was so looking forward to this one and it has been such a blessing. This past Wednesday night we had several ladies as guests attending who were evacuees from New Orleans because of Gustav. Some local families were housing them. I prayed that each one of the women – our visitors as well as all of us – would be blessed from this lesson. And because our church is going to vote this very Sunday on a music/worship minister in view of a call, the second lesson on songs of worship was so timely and appropriate. Thank you for your God-led teaching! Pat

Well, I signed up for 4 classes at the college and have one by one dropped them off. First Anatomy, then Med. Terminology, yesterday I dropped Chemistry. So, I will be working on Algebra this fall. The good news, now I have time to go to our Ladies Bible Study (Daniel) and help in AWANA. I haven’t helped in AWANA for 7 years, did 14years before that. I have a job, also.
My husband and I are empty nesters. Our son just returned from Iraq (safe and sound). We lovingly say he has post tramatic stress disorder because he just married a girl he met over the internet while he was in Iraq. I plan to get to know my new daughter-in-law this fall. Also, my new son-in-law. (Both of our kids married last month). Holidays will be perfect timing for that.
Leave for Deeper Still Conference today! Hurray!!! So ready for that. Please pray that many lives will be touched during this great get together, with great women.
And a reminder, for those who have heard it a million times… Enjoy those little ones, every last moment, good and bad. They grow up so fast. We homeschooled both all the way through high school. Lots of sweet times and memories, but it passes by in a moment. At 44, I am wondering where in the world did the years go? :o)
By the way, to those of you doing Priscilla Shirer’s Discerning God’s Voice Study, it is really good.

    Hi there,
We are homeschooling our five kids. My oldest is turning 15 in couple of weeks….this summer as I watched him sleeping….yep, still the best and so precious to watch them sleep ๐Ÿ™‚ I was really convicted to slow down a bit. I have about 3 more years to go (with him ) and want to be excellent in those years with him and the other kiddos. They are precious. So, I am not leading an “official” study this year but have decided to go through James and Galatians until Christmas. I have some good friends and my sis to keep me accountable. I also want to start running again – kinda let the ol body go. I love you guys and the blog – it is a fun source of companionship in a “this generation” kind of way. Have a great time potty training, it doesn’t have to be stressful. I have been there three times with my boys. The best advice for me was knowing that no one ever asks the question or talks about potty training once they’re in kindergarten! Whew, that took the pressure off :0) Now, I just worry about them getting tackled in football! I need to by stocks in bubble wrap!

Blessings to you and your family!
