Hi everyone! The LPM blog is going to be on hiatus for a few days while the Moore-Jones clan attempts to travel to the ranch for the weekend. I say “attempts” because I am so nervous about the traffic! My parents were already planning on going and we have decided to join them in view of Hurricane Ike heading this way. FYI, LPM and all our staff are located a safe distance from the coast, but the danger for those of us on this side of town, assuming it hits close to Houston, will be high winds. I think most people are riding it out. Everyone on the Texas coast appreciates your prayers. We love you girls and we’ll be back soon!
Love,
Amanda
PS – Bible study went great! We are really excited about our group. Thanks for praying on Tuesday!
Thinking of the whole city, I was there in 2001 at the Global conference and it was late September and my dear it was hot and humid. I Remember a hurricane had landed there in 2001 about a month before we had the conference. Wondered how the people did it who lived there all the time.
Just wanted to let you know you are in the thoughts of the canadians as well.
Iris
You all are in our prayers.
Praying for you & all the LPM staff & families…
Praying for y’all and whoever might be affected by this hurricane. We just had Gustav last week and I know what an evacuation feels like…very tiring. I’m glad y’all are getting out. Stay safe.
Libby in New Orleans
P.S. We’re already getting some of the feeder bands from Ike and they’ve closed my daughter’s school because of high wind and possible tornados and we are several hundreds of miles from y’all. I pray everyone headed the evacuation orders for Texas.
It’s Fri. 9:12 AM California time and I’m watching live footage on CNN of the TX shoreline. My prayers are with everyone on Ike’s path, the shoreline and beyond. God’s protection be on all.
I’ve been praying for y’all. Glad to hear that you’re all getting somewhere safely!
Praying for all of you in Ike’s path… (and for the animals too – I always worry about the helpless animals out there)!
ps…. Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Andreea (comment 1) and Mel (comment 3) look a little bit alike?
Keeping you all in my prayers during this storm!
Y’all just be careful and hunker down. We’ll be praying for you, as well as everyone else in Ike’s path.
Praying for your safety we just went through a threat of hurricane w/ hanna I am located in Wilmington NC
Joining the prayer for the mercy of the Lord to be with those in the path of the storm. Also praying that God will allow your time away from Houston to encourage you as a family and to meet needs as only He can.
Susan
I know y’all aren’t there to read our comments, but I still want to say that I’m praying for all of you in the path of Ike and I hope you all got safely to the ranch. Let’s us know when you’re back home safely!
Love and prayers,
Missy
I’m watching CNN Live viewing the Galvastan coast and am frightened and worried for the people who decide to stay! One mother with her two little girls is staying “to protect her house!” What’s wrong with her. I just want to cry for her little girls. I’m praying she’ll change her mind for her girls sake.
You don’t have to print this. I’m just wanting to vent after seeing that mom with her two girls. Lord, help them!!
I have no idea if you have capabilities or even care to moderate comments, but I want you guys to know I’m praying for all of the LPM staff and for your houses and property.
Most of all, praying that GOD be with all of those right in Ike’s path.
Father please spare lives.
Praying,
Teri
Our prayers are with you and all your fellow coastal Texans as you head out. May God be your protection – not just over life and limb, but over all your “stuff”. Stay safe and dry!
Praying for you here in NC…
We will be praying for all of you closer to the coast. Be careful down there.
We’ll be helping the evacuee’s here in DFW too!

Father, I thank You that nothing is impossible for You. I thank You that one look from You at this enormous storm will cause it to disappear. We are amazed at Your power, Lord! You are so far beyond even our greatest thoughts of You! You are so worthy of all praise, all glory, and all honor – how we praise You, Lord! We come humbly, Lord, asking in Your Mighty Name that You would still this storm. And if that is not Your will, then I ask that You be with those that maybe don’t have someone to go through this with. I ask that during this time, Lord, that You would put the lonely in families for safety and comfort. I pray that You would give the Gulf Coast residents a hunger and thirst to know the One who created wind and rain. May this storm cause many to turn to You and be saved as they view Your matchless power. And Lord, we especially ask that You would keep our Living Proof family perfectly safe and sound, and that You in Your mercy would spare their property also. We pray that Your name would be high and lifted up all over the Gulf Coast, Lord. Be glorified!
In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen
Blessings to you all from your sister Gretchen in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Hi Beth!
First of all, I pray your family and all in the Houston area are safe. I used to live in Florida and know well the threat of on-coming storms!
But the real reason I’m writing is because I just want to tell you what an inspiration you have been to me. I don’t even know how much you read your comments, but I was thrilled to discover you had a blog and that there was a remote chance for me to communicate directly with you.
Call me a late-comer, but for some strange reason, I had never done a Beth Moore study until June when our church did “Believing God.” I’ve read many of your books (which I loved), but I just never did a video-driven study, and, therefore, had never seen you actually teach.
I just want to tell you, that not only did that study absolutely impact my life for all eternity, but you–as a woman, a teacher, and a minister of the Gospel–have sparked something in me I cannot quite describe. I found myself watching you in those videos, identifying with you on so many levels, and saying to myself, “I’m going to do that some day…reach people like that and stir up in them a passion for the Word of God.”
After the first study, I was walking out saying to the other women, “Isn’t she AWESOME?” and they were looking at me like, “Have you been living in a box?”
I don’t know quite how to express it, but I saw your relationship with God…the depth, the passion, the zeal…and I knew it was a place to which God had been drawing me for years. He’s been preparing me for something great (for Him, not me). I’ve known that for a long time. You embody a walk with the Lord that previously I had only conceptualized in my mind. I now believe what I’ve been craving from God can actually happen to me, because I’ve seen it displayed in you.
I know you are greatly respected all over the world, and part of me feels silly for even telling you all of this. But I just know how much it encourages me when people share how God has used me in their lives, and so I thought I’d do the same for you.
Thank you for being true to yourself and who God created you to be, and for wholly and purely devoting your life to spread a love for God’s word.
Sincerely and with much love,
Sandy Cooper

I will be praying for all of you siestas along the coast in Texas. Hope you enjoy your family time at the ranch. Love ya’ll. robin
Amanda and Beth we are praying for the Moore’s and the Jones’s and all of Texas coast. Our group just finished The “Patriarchs” and I am reminded how God is “Hashim” and He is The Name and He calls each of us by name. So as we call out your names to the True Hashim He knows exactly who we are praying for and inclines His ear to hear our prayer. May God be the barrier to the winds and water through Ike. Please remember those in Brazoria and Freeport Texas they are right in the path of the water.Lord set the water boundaries and call them back. In Jesus name I pray.
Praying for all of you siestas in the Houston area and beyond as Ike is close to landfall!! We know we have a God who can hold the oceans in the palm of His hand! Praying you are all kept safe!!
Blessings,
JC
I am in Beaumont, Texas waiting out Ike at the courthouse. I plan on sleeping thru it when it gets really heavy around here. Pray for me and all of my co-workers, I am now living with. Three years ago, when Rita hit, most of my co-workers had a very sleepless night. I prayed to God “”peace be still”. And the storm went from a category 5 to a category 3. I slept thru the whole thing and never knew we took a direct hit.
Glad to hear you all are headed to higher ground. We will continue to pray for you, as well as all those in the path of Ike.
Love,
Anna
We're praying for all of you here in Nevada….God Bless and watch over you and your loves ones.
Hugs~April <><
I have been thinking and praying for everyone in Ike’s path. I pray people will stay safe and that there will be minimal damage.
We will keep you in our prayers along with all the people effected by this hurricane.
Be safe

Looks like Ike is heading towards Houston. You all are in my prayers. Please stay safe. We love you and pray that God puts a hedge of protection around all you Moores and LPM family.
PRAYING for everyone in Ike’s path!!!!
I remember “SOMEONE” saying that God may not always calm the storm, but He will calm the child in the storm. I pray the Prince of Peace will calm all your fears and give you peace, and maybe even some laughter! I’m prayin’ for all in the path of Ike.
Knowing your in His very capable hands. I praise the God of all creation for you and your family.
We Raleigh girls are praying for LPM in Houston and everyone in Ike’s path. Make memories with the family at the ranch and may the Lord watch over and protect you~Linda
I have been praying for you all and the people of your great state.

This is my second comment, a day later. Girlfriends in Texas…I can’t stop thinking of you! I’m writing this JUST as the eye of the hurricane is hitting. I’m comforted that the Moore family vacated Houston, and will continue lifting up all of my Siestas in Texas.
xo Chris
I’m praying for y’all!!
“The Lord is good, a stronghold on a day of trouble; he protects those who take
refuge in him, even in a rushing flood.†Nahum 1:7-8a
Praying for you!
It’s Saturday now and Ike has arrived in your area. Know that I am praying for you and all of the Houston, TX area. What is amazing is that this storm is nothing compared to the great and mighty power of the MOST HIGH! WOW! It just shows us how Strong our God is!
Stay safe –
Gretchen
B’ham., AL – Praying for you and your family and ALL people affected by Ike. I no like him either!!!
Amanda, thank you for saying you were “so nervous” about the traffic. I needed to hear that because when I get “nervous” about something I equate that with not having enough faith. I do pray and turn it over to God and sometimes I feel perfect peace and other times I don’t. I claim the peace anyway, whether or not I feel it because HE promises it. (Phil. 4:6-7)
Any other thoughts or comments regarding???
I am praying for you!!!
Love the Moore’s, even though I haven’t met you personally only through your studies and blog. I feel like I know you.
I am sure you will enjoy this family time while Ike strikes you will be parting with some chips and salsa.
Love,
Marilyn
Many thoughts and prayers to everyone at LPM and the Moores/Jones….I pray that your homes and businesses were spared and that God will shine bright on Houston as she recovers.
checking on y’all, looking for a word to hear if you’re ok? praying.
Keith , Beth, Curtis and Amanda and Jackson and all of my Sista’s in Texas, I’ve been watching the weather channel. I saw how bad Houston got hit. I’ve been crying asking the Lord to protect ya’ll. I’ve never meet ya’ll but with Christ and God being our Father we are truly family. I also have relatives that live out in Giddenings Texas. We got tropical storm winds and never lost power near New Orleans. I prayed and asked the Lord and pleaded the blood over all of you not to get hit real bad and loose property. As soon as you are able please give us an update and let us know how ya’ll are doing. Hugs to all of you!
Your Sister in Christ
Love ya’ll

Love you all!!! Praying for your families, churches and your state.

Oh Good! I am glad you are going with your parents! That is a blessing too that the office is in a safer location! I have been praying for you all this weekend- I was praying that you went inland and that you were protected. My church had a women’s retreat this weekend too. So, half the time, I was trying to focus on the speaker, and half the time thinking about my older sis in Fort Worth and you all. God did show me soo much of Himself this weekend through talking to a group of Sisters. God is really out to complete what He has started in us!:) I’ve starting posting too much again:) I’m going to go call my sis now in Fort Worth:) Love you all:)

I woke up in the middle of the night last night praying for all those who were in the path of the hurricane and your family. I hope all is safe with you.
From Sunny California!
As I type this, I am watching the Weather Channel and seeing pictures of Beaumont, Galveston and others. Frightening! Tornado warnings in surrounding states. Flooding in Lousiana. Praise God He is in control because this sure feels out of control!
So glad so many are praying for safety for your amazing family! I join in agreement with all the gals who wrote they are praying for everyone in Ike’s path.
I am in Michigan and we are having tons of rain and some tornados they say are from moisture coming up from Ike. Chicago is also getting tons of rain. As others have mentioned this is a strong storm yet our God is SOOOOOOOOOO much bigger and all powerful.
Praying your time together is safe, fun and restful.
I have never commented before but want to thank you, Beth, for your books, your wisdom, your honesty and your passion for the Lord. You are a very gifted teacher. I will do my best to get to one of your conferences. I feel I am missing out!
Thank you also to your family for sharing you and to your staff for supporting you.
May God bless and keep everyone safe from this storm.
Kathy
It’s Saturday and Ike has definitely landed – but God is definitely in control.
We are praying for you and all of those in the affected area in the coming days.
We no like Ike either! My husband works on cellular towers. So when the hurricane winds blow, he travels from Arkansas to wherever to get those phones back on the air. He will be leaving Sunday after church. Stay safe! We know the damage high winds can do.
Love and Peace,
Becky NLR, AR
I am so sorry that the state of Texas( or any state )is having to go through Ike. Several years ago our community took a direct hit from hurricane Charlie. We were without elec. for 2 weeks…it was hard, real hard.During the midst of the storm our community came together like no other time that I had ever seen.People from all over the U.S. came to pitch in and help they did…they were a Godsend.I know in the days, weeks and months ahead that Texas and the U.S. will rise to the occasion. Neighbors will help neighbors… they will help complete strangers. People will put aside difference for the common good. Love will show up and work in ways that will take your breath away.Lives will be changed. I pray that the God of all comfort will be with you and your love ones during this difficult time. LPM…If there is ANYTHING that we can do (relief fund,etc.).please let your siestas know.
Love you guys.

I am here in Jacksonville, FL and have just seen some of the pictures in Houston. I am praying that all of you are safe. I know that things got scary there for a while, just try to let us all know that all of you are ok. Thanks! Lifting all of you up right now!
